http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_Night Who had this where they grew up? The article says it's primarily around Detroit, but I definately experienced it growing up in Ontario. It was the night you could egg the house of the bully you hated. So, who else is familiar with it?

As I was emerging from slumber this a.m., I had a short movie flash in my head: I was driving my Cobalt here in Lancaster, PA. In my dream, Volkswagen's US headquarters is in my town. I was driving by the headquarters (a giant, non-descript brick and steel siding building without windows) when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a white, 4-door VW Beetle driving through the parking lot, flickering in and out of sight was it passed between parked cars. I instantly thought of photographing it for C&G with my phone, so I turned in to the restricted parking lot and made a loop, searching for the prototype. Then I saw it, parallel parked in front of the building by …

The Yenko Vega Stinger II. Only three known to exist. This one is valued at between $90,000 and $125,000. Originally Yenko had a turbocharger on it, but big bad EPA stepped in, and major costs involved, so Yenko offered without and customers had to buy the turbocharger in aftermarket and install it. Here's one with the Yenko Corvair Stinger:

Okay, so the last time I was on, I didn't do much, but I know I responded to a PM. Then I noticed a post I had made had a broken Image link, so I hid it (as it was long since too late to edit it), and reposted with an image hosted on a trusted source that i know isn't going to break. Then, I responded to a post in the Member's Design Showcase. The kicker is, I came back today and there's no evidence any of this happened. The conversation I thought I responded to in PMs was still there, and I had left the person I was talking to hanging with his last question. The broken image link was still there, and the repost was not. The reply I made to the thread in the design secti…

Before the marriage: He: Yes. At last. It was so hard to wait. She: Do you want me to leave? He: NO! Don't even think about it. She: Do you love me? He: Of course! She: Have you ever cheated on me? He: NO! Why you even asking? She: Will you kiss me? He: Yes! She: Will you hit me? He: No way! I'm not that type of person! She: Can I trust you? Now for "after the marriage" you can read it from bottom to the top !!!!

I will not be doing a major road trip this year, since I'm using that vacation time to attend a few different weekend gatherings/shows/cruises (about which I've posted); I hope to return to a week or 2-week long road trip in 2009. But ... Saturday, August 9, 2008 ... I'll be in the Pittsburgh/Johnstown/Holsopple PA area for a family reunion on Dad's side of the family. Around that reunion, I will take a "mini road trip" through Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and northern Virginia. I have a TENTATIVE/skeletal itinerary ... let me know if you want to meet up anywhere along the way so that'll help me finalize the itinerary in the next couple …

So MSN hosted Car & Drivers Truck Rankings from Worst to Best and I find much the information as expected but have to question their #1 Truck. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/autos-trucks/every-full-size-truck-ranked-from-worst-to-first/ss-BBkumMw?ocid=UP94DHP#image=1 When they even state that the Porky F150 now is close to competing with the Silverado on weight, does an Aluminum body really qualify it as the #1 best truck in comparison to the Chevy or GMC? Read the Rankings and stated info, then state your own judgement and let the public decide if this is right!

Okay, first off: it's *not* an olds-person's disease. It's basically a hereditary condition where your body makes too much of something called Uric Acid. It crystalizes in a joint (most commonly your big toe) and causes you a intense pain. The first time I had it, I couldn't stand the weight of my bed-sheets touching my big toe -- yes, it hurts that flipping bad. Well, it appears that I've got it in my small-toe -- and it hurts like a mother. Just got out of the doctor (they also found a lump in my wallet, badump-bump) & picked up my prescription. It's soooo lame to be tied up by something so small! I once had it in my knee (and the doctor needed to take a flu…

So I climbed the stairs of the CN Tower yesterday for a charity event. 1776 stairs (144 flights) Took me 15 minutes, 1 second. The records listed on the wall at the top were quite amusing... Fastest stair climb was 7:41 Fastest stair climb on a pogo stick: something like 58 minutes Most stairs in one day: Up the tower 17 times. Other numbers I don't remember, but had records listed: Fastest stair climb on a modified motorcycle!! Fastest stair climbs while carrying items, including: Engine from a Suzuki Samurai, 200 lb pumpkin. Most stairs fallen down: all 1776, on purpose. People will do some dumb crap to set a record.

A crane toppled over at one of our job sites today, crushing a Silverado, part of a Sierra, sheared off a corner of the contractor office, and flattened half of a guard shed. Amazingly, nobody was injured even though workers were in both buildings. The boom crane that fell was being used to erect two larger tower cranes (taken a couple hours before it tipped over).

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...ml?hpid=topnews As the winds and water of Hurricane Katrina were receding, presidential confidante Karen Hughes sent a cable from her State Department office to U.S. ambassadors worldwide. Titled "Echo-Chamber Message" -- a public relations term for talking points designed to be repeated again and again -- the Sept. 7, 2005, directive was unmistakable: Assure the scores of countries that had pledged or donated aid at the height of the disaster that their largesse had provided Americans "practical help and moral support" and "highlight the concrete benefits hurricane victims are receiving." So, I never did fix my computer. After 7 months, it's gotten to the point where my desktop works most of the time. However, it still has moments when it disappears. I've singled the issue down to the file rundll32.exe. I apparently have some bad .dll files that were added by the virus that my anti-virus software doesn't seem to detect. Specifically, there's one that keeps attacking my Mozilla Firefox and causing it close when it's being run. Before this, I got rid of a bad driver that was causing pop ups. I hoped it was the main cause of everything, but it wasn't. I always figured rundll32.exe was the problem itself, but it's where it should be and is obviously Windows so…

There is a video on VVCARS.COM where it shows Chery's design studio. If you look closely at some parts, you can see a design of the Volkswagen Touareg. The other one shows the Mazda Kusabi clearly and if you look to the right of the designer's ear, you can see the Chevy SS. I can understand if this is for inspiration but Chinese cars have a bad history for copying other cars. To see this, go to the website and click on Factory. There will be a video and if you pause it, you can see some of them.

Missy Elliot insists ... her brand new Lamborghini is being held captive by an Illinois car dealership -- after she paid handsomely for the luxury vehicle -- and now, she's suing to get her ride. The rapper filed the lawsuit in Florida against Fox Valley Motor Cars, claiming she entered into an agreement with the dealership last year to buy a 2012 Matte White Lambo Aventador (below, in orange) for $376,000. According to the lawsuit, Missy -- repped by Singh, Singh & Trauben -- agreed to make a down payment that included $30,000 in cash AND her 2005 Bentley (valued at $85,000). In return, Missy claims the dealership agreed to ship her the Lambo by mid 2012 ... but ne…

First of all, I would have had Blake go home during the Bee Gee's week. Then, I'd have sent LaKisha home, leaving Jordin and Melinda going head-to-head in the finale. Who could have won between them, I would not care. Melinda has more experience and a larger vocal range than Jordin, although they both have incredible voices. Melinda might have had the better voice, though. Jordin has a younger presence, and still a phenomenal voice for 17 years old. SHe is more current than Melinda, though. Either of them woudl work, so Jordin's victory was well-earned. Now, regarding the actual Top 4.... LaKisha had the ability to stay another week, so I wasn't thrilled tos ee her…

So I bought an 04 Bonneville for the girlfriend to get around in. Her old car was nearing the end and I got a hell of a deal on this car that was out in Boise. It seemed to be pretty well optioned and I never saw a picture of it, just knew it was in decent shape, had 65K on it, and was white and that was enough for me. So I fly out to Boise to drive it back. When I get there, to my suprise it has hub caps on it. I was over it pretty quickly and figured I would throw a nice set of 17s on it and call it good. Well the girlfriend hates how aftermarket it is going to look with most of the rims I've found for a decent price and wants something stock on it. So I thoug…

The clerk/technician guy comes into the showroom where I am (ogling a 300C), and says they found an oil leak. Anyway, he brought me over to my car which was on the lift and showed me. As it turns out, the Oil Pressure Sending Switch is leaking oil. It's not a big leak, and not that expensive to fix…

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Trying to head off a potentially embarrassing state ethics report on GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, campaign officials released their own report Thursday that clears her of any wrongdoing. Sen. John McCain's running mate is the subject of a legislative investigation into whether she abused her power as governor by firing her public safety commissioner. The commissioner, Walter Monegan, says he was dismissed in July for resisting pressure from Palin's husband, Todd Palin, and numerous top aides to fire state trooper Mike Wooten, Palin's former brother-in-law. The move came hours after the state Supreme Court refused to halt the ethics in…

I've been in California since Fri 12/18 to visit family for Christmas. When I went to rental car counter, the agent presented the Camaro upgrade option, so I took it out of curiosity. Time Capsule "This is the sort of thing that could happen only in Tulsa," spoke Lewis Roberts Jr. during dedication ceremonies marking the observance of Tulsa's Golden Jubilee Week. "TuIsarama!" chairman Roberts' made his remarks as citizens prepared to entomb a new 1957 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe as part of a time capsule buried on the southeast corner of the Tulsa County Courthouse lawn. Why would anyone want to bury a new car? Roberts was asked. "The 'Tulsarama!' committee," he replied, "decided on the event after looking for a method of acquainting the ci…

Today on my way back from school I saw a 2007 Acura RDX proto. It had black tape over the rear lights and badges but it was silver. It looked pretty good but I didnt see too much of the front. I sucks how when you see something like that and dont have a camera on you. That happened when I saw a red '66 Cadillac Limo in my town. I guess the RDX was testing because we are only about half an hour from the Alliston Honda Plant.

went to a site that i used to frequent due to the wealth of information on 69 chevys. they had this little feature posted It’s 1970 and you’re enjoying a day at the strip. The typical cars file up to the line and charge from the gate. Then you see a 4,500-lb ’69 Chevy Kingswood 9 passenger wagon lumber up to the line, its massive body dwarfing everything else around. They can’t be serious! What’s that doing here? Before you can contemplate further, it launches down the ¼ mile and thunders across the line a mere 12.41 seconds later, at 111.88 mph. Stunned, you can’t help but think “What the hell just happened??” Well, the explanation is simple. This particular Kings…

Yahoo, reprinted a story by "The Street" that covers the top 10 WORST auto's ever in the world. Seems 8 of the top 10 are right here in the US. Look at the 10 and tell me if you agree. They start by saying #10 is the 1979 Oldmobile Station wagon Diesel and end with the #1 worst Pontiac Aztek. The pictures are in the order of the story. Their justification is interesting. Some of it I do feel is personal experiance versus actual fact, but each person is entitled to their opinion. http://autos.yahoo.com/news/10-worst-cars-of-all-time-revisited-012257791.html;_ylt=Al5rVgaNjh2_MKSMECEr4nImhvZ_;_ylc=X3oDMTduaWFhdTdlBF9TAzIxNDY4NjI2MzAEYWN0A3RpdGxlBGN0A3N…

I'd love to park this thing inside a big manson in the library... a room full of old leather-bound books sitting on mohogany bookshelves. What a cool looking survivor. http://news.windingroad.com/auto-news/gm/l...or-165-million/

I hate quarterly deployments. Worked from home for 4 hrs Friday morning, did stuff (laundry, etc) around the house Friday afternoon, been in the office now since Friday 6pm w/ my team doing deployments of applications to production servers (conference call w/ people across 4 US time zones and India). Should have taken an afternoon nap. Hope to go home and get sleep within the next hour...

Crashes car into mall, and then steals clothes from mall to get dressed.... DALLAS - A man wearing no clothes crashed a stolen vehicle into the Southwest Center Mall and then proceeded to get out of the vehicle and dress himself in clothes from a Champs Sports store Friday morning, Dallas police said. The incident began with a woman being approached by a man wrapped in a blanket. The woman told police he came right up to her and stole her vehicle. It is unclear at this time if he used force or was armed at the time. The man then drove the vehicle through the entrance of the Southwest Center Mall, slamming kiosks and leaving behind major damage until coming to a halt …

SPOILER ALERT!! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE YET DON'T READ THIS UNLESS YOU WANTS POILERS (AND DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SEE IT!!) Since GMTruckGuy74 started spilling spoilers because he wanted to talk about the movie, and since those of us who have seen it are probably dying to talk about it, I made this thread so we can discuss it without ruining the movie for everyone who hasn't seen it yet. At least, that's the idea I'll start. Do you think we've seen the last of him? If history is any indication, I doubt it. Even with the water pressure 7 miles below sea level, I doubt it would be enough to crush him and the others..plus he has a general knack for coming back…

Okay so I went to this carshow in Phoenix today, and it was friggin sweet! I saw basically the tightest Cadillac CTS-V of my life: it had a supercharged and stroked LS6 with built internals! Also, the rest of the car was extremely nice. It had a borla exhaust i believe the guy said, and some 20 inch wheels that I would actually have dropped. The car was still very clean, and it even had nos, which is sort of cool but I dont think it was really necessary. The guy said it dynoed 550 hp without the nos, and runs 12s at the track. Needless to say, I was very impressed. The only thing I didnt like was he put 2 Cadillac V symbols on the back of the car, and the 20 inch …

Sorry to say that I will not be visiting the site for about a week. Tomorrow night we're flying to Orlando for a 5-day vacation to DisneyWorld. Pray that the rain predicted for the East Coast doesn't ruin my 1 year-old's first trip to Disney I'll be thinking of the site while I'm gone - wondering what I'm missing. But on the flip side I will be going on the GM Test Track ride as much as possible ( )and will probably spend quite a bit of money in its gift shop before I leave. Can't wait to see what GM has on display there (I'm praying the new 2007 Sierra is there). Take care folks and see you in about a week!

Found a good site for bike stunt pictures. Some of these guys boggle my mind. Note: despite what it may seem, these are not photoshops. I've seen most of these guys do these things in bike videos. Early morning sunrise Road gap (part of what's unbelievable here is that there's a worn in trail leading to the edge. Yeesh. Front flip, time elapse 360, time elapse Superman (the real kind, not what I did) What nice scenery - waitaminit... Utah is beautiful Footplant Hope some of you enjoy these as I do. When naming crossovers, I think that these automakers need a BIT more imagination. For example: Mazda cX7 Mazda cX9 BMW X3 BMW X5 Acura MDX Acura RDX Saab 9-4X Saab 9-7X Cadillac BRX Nissan X-Terra (started it?) Cadillac SRX Lincoln MKX Chevy equinoX (bit of a stretch) Volvo XC90 Volvo XC70 Volvo XC60 Suzuki XL7 Suzuki SX4 Infiniti QX Lexus RX Lexus LX Lexus GX Cheers to Audi for thier Q-line instead of the X-humping, and Mercedes for not even having an acronym for thier SUVs. Not to mention the domestics for all staying out of the "X" game aside from the lux-marques. Especially Chrysler, which has no faux X's. Any…

An excerpt from today's San Francisco Chronicle: Ron Patrick is approaching the age of 50, a time when many men begin thinking about minutiae like pensions and second homes and third cars. But Patrick is far more interested in telling you why it is that he has stuck a big jet engine in the back of a prosaic silver Volkswagen. He's standing out in a parking lot, waving his arms with wild enthusiasm, pointing at the car as if he were a 15-year-old who's just had his first ride in a Corvette, his eyes spinning in delight. This car consumes him, he loves the completely outrageous idea behind it, and for a moment, his infectious mood makes you think, gee, anybody could do t…

* Spring is a great time to be a sports fan, with NCAA March Madness, the start of baseball season, near the end of the basketball & hockey seasons, soccer season, etc. Watching the Cincinnati/Ohio State NCAA game & anticipating the upcoming Kentucky/Louisville match, I thought about rivalries between cities, particularly those of all the different Chicago sports teams. What other cities/teams have rivalries? CHICAGO vs DETROIT Bears ... Lions White Sox ... Tigers Bulls ... Pistons Blackhawks ... Red Wings CHICAGO vs ST LOUIS Cubs ... Cardinals Blackhawks ... Blues CHICAGO vs GREEN BAY Bears ... Packers CHICAGO vs MILWAUKEE Cubs ... Brewers Bulls .…

Hey guys, I know that at least some of you are from PA, and was hoping you could help me out. I am supposed to be moving to Grove City in about a month, and was hoping someone could tell me what the area is like. All I know is that it's a small town about half way between Pittsburgh and Erie. So what kind of recreation is there, is it a nice area, etc?
