Woman finds 'stolen' Audi in neighbor's garage 6 hours ago BERLIN — An Audi sedan written off by an elderly German woman as stolen two years ago has resurfaced — in her neighbor's garage beneath a thick layer of dust. Police said Thursday the 82-year-old from the northern city of Hildesheim took the car in for repairs two years ago and had the mechanics drive it back to her house and park it in her garage. She got the keys and papers from her mailbox, but when she went to get the car it was nowhere to be found. So she reported it stolen. Fast forward to Wednesday when her neighbor went to clean up his unused garage so it could be rented. He found the car under "a …

The company is owned by Henrik Fisker, former Aston Martin design chief, and the 710-hp car will be limited to about 150 units. This thing is increadibly cool looking. Pics

Then they're asking her about why this show helps Detroit (read: Big 3) out so much. She responds by saying that it's both an "offensive and defensive strike. They're now seeing that the Chinese are huge competitors and are coming soon. They're going to really have to step their game up if they want to compete with the Chinese automakers." What a…

But I will go into Greek food withdrawals. So, I'd say Greek. The meats and poultry are succulent, the vegetables, rice and potatoes tend to be seasoned without being offensively strong. Not to mention the tzatziki, hummus or baklava. It's also pretty good for you. Look at those 100 year old ladies with orthopedic shoes and black dresses hanging out in Mykonos or Santorini...see? Topless Model! Yep, right now The Car Connection is featuring a topless model on their front page...a Rolls-Royce convertible prototype. (Admit it. How many of you held out a little hope?) The car looks to be in the vein of the 100EX concept, basically a Phantom convertible which Roller stated they had no plans to build. Also featured are blurbs on hybrid incentives, more Ford buyouts and the status of Delphi-IAE talks. Read The Car Connection's Daily Edition for April 27, 2006

  16. Folks: We've already seen the ordering guides and the new color lists. Surfacing on the horizon for larger cars is a color called Midnight Amethyst Metallic. In reality, it's already here -- on Cobalt, as a minimum. It's interesting, but possibly trendy. It can look somewhat grape-like. It reminds me of the mid-90s Thunderbird color that's purple and reads differently under different light. I guess I'm pissed because they shortchange us on variants of standard colors or fail to find a good shade of them and then insert trandier colors (this year Amethyst and 2 years ago Fusion Orange Metallic - I have seen NEW 04 and 05 GPs in that color still sitting on lots). …

  19. Okay, so March 12 will be my one year anniversary since I purchased the 2006 GMC Envoy SLT 4WD. The GM Certified Used Vehicle 12k mile/12 month bumper-to-bumper warranty is due to expire at 46,942 miles or on 3/12; I'm currently at 46,146 miles right now (796 miles left, so I will not make it to March). I have gotten great use out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty on my truck this past year, and feel that since I still have 4 1/2 years left to pay on the loan I should consider purchasing an extended GM Major Guard warranty before I hit the mileage expiration very soon. I have spoken to the closest Buick-GMC dealership, the one I use for service, and got information on t…

Since I live in a winter climate, I'm looking for something I can apply this fall that will help protect the paint before the snow starts flying. Is it becoming a major PC hog for anyone else? After the last few updates it has become agonizingly slow. I find myself using Chrome a lot more often now. Ironically, one important site for me, Google Pages, doesn't render properly in Chrome, so I have to use Firefox for that.

Lat night on the way home from running an errand, saw my first blue VW ID4 EV in the wild. Have to say they look better in person than photos and I like the lighting on the outside, the turn lights are an outline of the headlight, very easy to see, very quiet and looked good. Impressed with the look, just too small for me.

After spending a little time thinking about what the new GM is going to be like, it looks like I will always be out of luck looking for something from them. I'm now down to exactly one brand that I'd even consider generally speaking. That would be Chevy. Even there, the chances that they will build something I would want don't look good. I want a GTO-sized sport coupe/convertible, or a ute, or a wagon, with RWD and a V8 and a manual trans. Yeah, the Camaro comes close - but I want something more individual, and Chevy isn't about that these days. So I'm stuck with the very slim possibility of the VE Ute making a return as an El Camino (or GMC variant, I guess). …

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher that came with the house, and it appears to be a real oldie, with big ol' chrome pushbutton controls. When I set it, it heats the water for a little while, then doesn't wash. I thought it was out of sync somehow, but I have not been able to resynchronize it (happened a couple of years ago and I was able to get it work properly then). Does anyone have experience with these? Does anyone have a clue of what's wrong with it? Should I spend the money to have it looked at, or junk it and buy a new one? This is likely going to put a dent in my pickup truck fund. I've been washing dishes this week for the first time since I bought my house…

We all know some men and, we'd like to hope not women, shave while behind the wheel of their vehicle; however, this one takes a whole new step off the last rung of the ladder of stupidity: Can I hopefully state that this can only happen in Florida? US woman crashes when shaving bikini line A US woman has been arrested after crashing into a truck as she shaved her bikini line while she was driving. Megan Mariah Barnes, 37, was on the way to a date with her boyfriend in southern Florida when the collision took place, TV station WFOR-TV reported. Barnes allegedly gave her ex-husband the wheel as she shaved her private parts because she wanted to be "ready for the visit"…

Hello everyone! I have been very busy with life lately so I haven't been posting as much as I would have liked to lately. Anyways I was talking to some people in my family and we got talking about what the next ride could would be. Some backgroud information... My brother and his wife will be in the market for a new car soon (before the end of this year) more than likely and have two very different options to select from. They recently became empty nesters and now have the freedom to really drive whatever they would like. My brother who is interested in cars, (not crazy like me) wants something with some serious "balls" as he would put it. That is his first thing on his…

Well, I'm on a job site (I work for the contracting company my father works for now, by the way. No more fueling planes) and I parked in a space reserved for BAY MONT BANK CUSTOMERS ONLY. They have 9 spaces 'reserved', 7 of them empty, while the rest of the lot - minus the disabled ones - is full. So, its either park in one of those spots like myself and all the subcontractors normally do or park on the fifth floor 'visitors' section of the parking structure a about 1/5-mile away. I know two of the security guys; one's nice, the other thinks he's Jack Webb or somebody with actual importance. So, I get a ticket from Depty Dufus for 'unautho…

I saw these and really wanted to share them. I don't any negative comments in here, I am tired of those. So if anybody has anything good to say about this incredibly attractive woman, I mean, come on, I'm salivating over these pictures. Anyways, I know she doesn't always look her best, and it has to do with how she stands, her posture, but these pictures are freakin' phenomonal. Again, only positive things please. Thanks. And I won't to see this die either, without someone commenting...

I left my house yesterday with the intentions of enjoying a weekend with fellow Solstice owners in Canton, Ohio. I arrived on the scene, meeted and greated with the 20+ Solstice owners that were in attendance at Poncho's Southwestern in Canton and headed back to the hotel. Luckily, there is a night club/bar connected to the hotel that was open. I walk in, and naturally the first bartender to capture my attention gets the duty of serving me Bud Lights all evening. Upon sitting there and chatting I found out that Erin (such a CUTIE!) is 21 and goes to school, etc. Then for some reason pets came up. We talked about them and how long we've had 'em. My cat Tucky we got f…

For those who don't know: '98 Camaro 3.8L auto with cam (pushrods/valvesprings too), headers, 3.73/limited slip, intake/exhaust, tune. Well, tonight was the first time I floored the Camaro now that she has over 350 miles on the rebuild (starting the night, I'd say about 300). So, I start toolin' around to feel the extra power by myself without trying to race anybody. Well, needless to say, my buddy's Neon totally got whomped on even when he tried and he was speechless by how much faster my car got since the rearend, cam, headers, and tune. So then there's a really loud Fox Body Mustang who keeps looking over at me while hitting it. Well, everytime he hits it, his whol…

So XP came along with me on a recent roadtrip for business. There's a long story behind this but basically the pic speaks for itself. I was doing about 110 when we passed a cleverly hidden State Trooper. (not really but I was staring at my speedo not the median) For reasons which I care not discuss I got my car towed & impounded for about 20 minutes... after the whole ordeal was over (no serious trouble, mostly a waste of time) XP looks over at a crunched 18-wheeler in the impound lot... he casually says: "Wow, that $hit jack-knifed huh?" to which the flatbed driver responds: Yeah... that truck killed a 12 year old girl yesterday. The poor child…

Purely informational for those of you in the market for notebooks: based on the reliability of my Inspiron, I'd advise you to definitely give Dell's competitors a good look. I recently found that the model I own is the victim of a design defect - I now have to replace my hard drive and processor after 13 months of ownership. The cause of this - which I am sure is common with all notebooks (to a certain degree) - relates to an excessively hot battery and a lack of some heat barrier. Unfortunately, my battery was not covered in that massive recall nor has Dell felt the need to notify owners. This diagnosis was made by an on-site Dell tech, who also stated that this is a…
