A few notes to cellular customers 1 2

Here are a few notes to customers of cellular providers of the great ol' US of A. I will edit/change these as necessary as I find a means to vent here every night instead of the bottom of a Bud Light bottle. 1) If Customer Service tells you something, it's probably not true at all. 2). If Customer Service directs you to your local carriers store for an insurance claim, its NEVER true. 3) Just because Customer Service tells you that you are eligible for instant savings on a new handset at your nearest local store, chances are you infact are not eligible for SHIT! 4) Do not take it out on us poor reps, as we are not the people that make sensative policy decisio…

-- This thread will not tolerate flaming of any kind, it is intended to be a "civilized argument" encouraging critical thinking that lends itself to further evolving and refining our world. It focuses mainly on American Culture (the fastest growing culture in history) however foreign cultural views are more than welcome, as everything lends insight. To kick it off... Modern American Culture has evolved so rapidly that America is losing its cohesiveness, and is slowly destroying the traditional place of the family. What is your opinion on this relatively new trend (post WW2)? Is this good or bad? what are its consequences? what does it provide to our soc…

So I was out walking this morning, and part of my route is along a road that's outside of my development. I was amazed at the amount of trash people just throw out their car windows... like it's the middle ages or something. A big potato chip bag with half the chips strewn everywhere, coffee and soda cups and bottles, an orange condom, (used, ew) etc. etc... what are people thinking? How can people be so damn TRASHY? I sincerely hope everyone here takes their trash home and sticks it in the wastebasket.

I eat breakfast every day, but during the week it's cold cereal, fruit, and juice. Once in a while on Sundays, I splurge and have a nice, big, hot breakfast. I just finished 4 eggo waffles, two eggs, and six pieces of bacon. Feelin' fat and happy! Does anyone else go all out for a weekend breakfast? What do you like to make?

Well... here are two cars that are sitting in the woods behind my uncle's camp. The first is a 3rd gen Monte Carlo. The second is an 80's Impala. Ah... what wonders the woods can behold. :P The weeds have grown alot since I was around it last... so it kind of hides it. Anyways, the basics... The front clip and the front wheels are missing. The engine is there, but not completely and it's just sitting in it. The radiator is lying on the ground beside it. Inside the steering wheel is gone and the door panels (or part of them..) are lying in the back seat. The front windshield is... there, but damaged. The rear windshield is broken out as with the door windows…

The P-Mate enables women to urinate upright September 19, 2005 The P-Mate is disposable paper device which enables women to urinate easily while standing up. It is in common usage in Europe since launching four years ago and is marketed as a convenient, hygienic, portable, leak proof, discreet, no-brain solution to the bad sanitary and problematic circumstances which continually confront women, particularly at mass gatherings. The P-Mate has become an entrepreneurial success story in Holland where Moon Zijp conceived the P-Mate while traveling in Indonesia, designed it at the Academy of Arts in Amsterdam and commercialised it to national and global acclaim as a clever …

We're all on this site because we've been touched by GM one way or another. My question is: How so? Share your experiences with GM here. Only one requirement....keep things family-friendly, mmmkay? I'll get the ball rolling: Some of my GM memories: When we (my sisters and I) would visit my grapdparents in the Bronx for the weekend, we'd either be riding around in a 1973 chocolate-brown Monte Carlo or a 1955 Bel Air hardtop. The Monte was in pristine condition, the Bel Air was much less so having been stolen so many times. For both cars, my grandmother made clear plastic seat covers (think "Everybody Loves Raymond") that you would usually stick…

I voted RWD. Manual trans. is almost as essential but I'd raher have a automatic RWD car than a FWD wiht a manual. As much as I'm into Muscle Cars I've driven plenty of four and six cylinder cars that had a ton of power... even ones without a huffer. For instance given the choice I'd take a '72 Datsun 510 over an '06 Monte Carlo 5.3, or a Cobalt SS over a '96 Taurus SHO. (but then who in their right mind wouldn't?)

NorthWest Chairman Sold Stocks!

Four weeks before Northwest filed for bankruptcy, Northwest Chairman Gerald Wilson sold about one-third of his Northwest stock at about five and a half dollars a share. Since bankruptcy, Northwest stock has been less than a dollar. Congresswoman Candice Miller of Macomb County said Wilson is a greedy coward. “Here you have an individual who should be demonstrating leadership… for Northwest Airlines, and instead of that, he couldn’t wait to sell his stock off a month before he must have known fully well that they were going to be declaring bankruptcy. Again, just another unfortunate example – in my observation – of corporate greed,” explained Miller. A spokesperson f…

Link: http://www.autoextremist.com/page2.shtml#Rant Detroit. Every once in a while, a story comes along that gets us shaking our heads in bemused disbelief. But this week's story may just take the cake. Rick Kranz and Peter Brown reported in Automotive News that J Mays and Jim Padilla have decided that internal design constraints have cost Ford dearly in terms of design "reach" - and that they're going to free up the design process so that Ford's mainstream designs won't suffer from the calculated blandness that they've displayed all too frequently of late (e.g., Ford Five Hundred sedan, Freestar minivan, etc.). Padilla and Mays took great…

Cell phone ban urged for teen drivers Transportation officials say phone use and inexperience on road do not mix when it comes to teens. September 21, 2005: 7:02 AM EDT WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Banning teenagers from using cell phones or other wireless devices while learning to drive should be a national auto safety priority, say U.S. transportation safety officials. The National Transportation Safety Board put the proposed restriction on its "most wanted" list of safety improvements for the upcoming year, which also includes older appeals for more states to impose limits on teens' night driving and carrying of passengers. "Learning to drive and being …

Okay, I know a bunch of you eBay like myself. I usually scope out car parts and airplane memorabilia. You may go for sporting equipment, autographed photos, fabrege eggs, Selma Hayck's panties, whatever. But the point of this is to find an eBay Motors Gem. In other words, a complete car for sale on eBay that is in such a condition that you would only find it on eBay. That, or the listing is simply hillarious. Here's my first entry and an example: 1979 Lincoln Versailles Premier *Seamlessly-extended front end to accomodate 'spare' wheels. *"Vynal" roof with aged rust lines. By It Now Price: $6500

OK, my Cavy's lease is up exactly one year later, and as to not make an uneducated purchase like my current Cavalier, I'm researching. I might even try to get out early, but the chance is quite slim. Here are the options I'm thinking of: 1) New Pontiac G6 4-cylinder /w ABS + ETS (maybe with sunroof as well B) ) 2) Used Olds Alero GX or GL, preferably 4-cylinder 3) New Chevy Cobalt LS / Pontiac Pursuit SE (Depending on which is a better deal) 4) Buyout my Cavalier for $7000 Option 1 would be the most expensive, but it's my favourite. Option 2 is viable, I always liked that car. My only concern is the mechanics of the car. I'm sure it'll…

I'm going to Lake Havasu this weekend, with the gf and her family... ... you are probably thinking "so what," and wondering why I would bother mentioning it... Well, they just bought a boat... the fastest boat I will probably ever ride in... It has a twin whipple charged 542 (I think that's the correct displacement), making 1300 hp! This thing is estimated to go 120 mph on the water! I just hope I don't piss my pants. I have never seen two superchargers, side by side, on one intake manifold... it's sweet!

I don't know yet if that's just an intro rate, like the first year, then it goes up to the "regular" price. I just read the line in Sixty8's sig that reads: "In fact, did you know a Chevrolet (small block) V8 with no oil in it and no water in it will last about two hours before it disintegrates? We did it twice. The first time it lasted an hour and 15 minutes and the second time it lasted two hours." It reminded me of something my Physics teacher said he learned from an engineer. That a 60s Muscle Car lets off more emissions while not running than a new car does turned on?

I left out hyundai, and other Korean makes, as this is too obvious of a choice. To me, the current winner of choice is any older honda. Being a Landlord it becomes obvious real quick that those out of the know choose honda. For people worried about political correctness - WT means people who seem to think it's ok to go out in public without a shower, those who's homes are usually full of drugs, those who use public assistance for food but have the money to purchase cigarettes and beer, etc., etc. The color of their skin or heritage is irrelevant.

More idle blather from my 'commuting home' brain... An average motorist (let's call him 'Randy'), not particularly an 'enthusiast', has a choice of two to make for his new midsize sedan. Nearly everything else is equal and the prices are right. But one is advertised and in fact has a high-revving 6-cylinder with a redline of 8000. The other is a torquey 6 with a redline of 5500. Since our man Randy is a bleeding heart ecologist, he asks himself: Given the same owner, roads traveled and driving techniques, would the car that requires on average 1500 more RPM to deliver the same level of performance... that extra RPM would have to in …

Yesterday when I was on my way to Hy-Vee to get groceries, I noticed a car in front of me that had Louisiana plates. At first I assumed that the girl in this car had been going here for a while. Then I remembered an article in the newspaper the other day about a girl from New Orleans who transferred here after everything down there was destroyed. In the newspaper they talked about how she stuffed as much as she could into her Toyota Echo in half an hour and left. The only reason that stuck in my head is because an Echo is tiny and you wouldn't be able to fit much in there. Anyway, the car in front of me was none other than a green Toyota Echo. I got into the rig…

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc. (NYSE:DAL - news) and Northwest Airlines Corp.(Nasdaq:NWAC - news) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday, according to court documents. Delta, the No. 3 U.S. airline, which earlier this year said it did not have enough cash to meet its liquidity needs in 2005, filed for protection in U.S. bankruptcy court in the Southern District of New York. "The action we have taken is a necessary and responsible step to preserve Delta's value for our creditors, customers, employees, business partners and other stakeholders," said Delta Chief Executive Gerald Grinstein in a release. who are caught speeding in an '06 Trailblazer SS by the Michigan State Police traveling East on 696 towards the Tech Center? Must have sucked to have been that guy! I do wonder how GM handles that if ticketed. He's in a company vehicle, on company time.

...To put your name in my signature! :P How? By coming up with something like the disclaimer I used to have. Doesn't have to be exactly like it, but it must be funny and full of sarcasm. Beyond that... just about anything goes. I'll pick the one I like the most, put it in my sig, and include your name. So come up with great ones, guys. :D

I was doing some research online, and stumbled on this awesome website dedicated to Harley Earl. http://carofthecentury.com/ It has a ton of rare photos, and some extremely great reading material. I ended up looking at it for 2 hours. :o A "must click" for anyone interested in automotive design!

I figured "boys" would get you in here faster than "guys" :P No idea. Okay, another girl thing. This is something that Nick would post (no offense dude, I don't mean it in a bad way.. if I did, I wouldn't post this!) and I'm lost too. About 2 or so years ago I liked this girl, Katie, quite a bit. Her cousin's family (she's real close to her cousin's family) and mine were cool with each other and hung out. Well, I hooked up with Katie. It was a bad relationship all because I had no idea what I was doing as a boyfriend. I didn't call, hang out with her, or anything. I was terrible and I admit it to this day to anybody.…

Seeing as how I am finally going to pursue something I've been talking about for months and well really years I've decided it's time to start investing in some stocks, bonds, mutual funds. etc. However there's only one problem. I don't have any idea on where to start, or where to turn to for financial advice on stock purchases, et al. Recently Sprint made an offer to its salaried and comissioned employees. We get to take advantage of a 10% price drop from the current Sprint/Nextel (S) selling price on the 'Street. I've chosen to roll over 10% of my pay for stock purchases until end Q4. Ok, that's a start, right? Now what?!? I'd …

Well, I'm on a job site (I work for the contracting company my father works for now, by the way. No more fueling planes) and I parked in a space reserved for BAY MONT BANK CUSTOMERS ONLY. They have 9 spaces 'reserved', 7 of them empty, while the rest of the lot - minus the disabled ones - is full. So, its either park in one of those spots like myself and all the subcontractors normally do or park on the fifth floor 'visitors' section of the parking structure a about 1/5-mile away. I know two of the security guys; one's nice, the other thinks he's Jack Webb or somebody with actual importance. So, I get a ticket from Depty Dufus for 'unautho…

Here's something you don't see everyday; a new car company called Fisker Coachbuild based out of Newport Beach, California will build the Tramonto, a $250,000 supercar. The company is owned by Henrik Fisker, former Aston Martin design chief, and the 710-hp car will be limited to about 150 units. This thing is increadibly cool looking. Pics

Okay, so I saw a Mitsubishi Sigma today. Can someone enlighten me a bit more about this car? Again, obviously an 80s product with Sigma badging, looking very much like so... I'm picking up a bunch of names like Sigma, Eterna, and Diamante in searching for this car. I would've snapped a picture but for my girlfriend is borrowing my digi. Hopefully, I'll get one tomorrow.

Find the man among the beans (EDIT: look for a head). Can you find the man within 3 seconds? According to medical experiments: If you can find the Man's Head within 3 seconds, your right brain is more developed than normal people. If you can find the Man's Head within 1 minute, your right brain is developed normally. If you can find the Man's Head within 1-3 mintues, your right brain is slow in reacting, you should eat more meat protein. If you can find the Man's Head in 3 minutes or more, your right brain is a disaster... extremely slow in reacting, the brain is losing it's ability to perform normally. ______________________________…

My buddy Ray Buck is traveling to Iowa next weekend ... and a bunch of us are going to meet up for a Sunday afternoon gathering: "What started out as me and me darlin bride delivering the Nova and the Camaro to Jim in Waterloo, Iowa has sorta snowballed...and for the time being, we're planning a get-together at the Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque, Ia on Sunday the 18th of September at 1:30 pm til ???? I've contacted the museum and tentatively, we don't think there should be any problems with parking. I'll know more on Monday. I'll also be bringing the "Hello, my name is..." lapel tags. Hope to see ya there, Ray"
