Figured I'd go in a similar path as Fly did with his Jag thread. This was imported from Japan and now in Canada. This car is amazing. One of the cleanest examples I have seen (in fact one of the very few I've ever seen). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ADME:B:EF:US:11 Very cool.

Rt. 110 in Westford, Massachusetts. This is one of the biggest "cruise nights" in all of New England. Great selection of cars from the pre-war stuff to rare modern exotics. Once in a blue moon you even see a $ix digit "trailer queen" driven in or brass era car or truck. Here's just a few of the cars there last Thursday. I may post more later but this is just a sample. Two weeks ago there was a 1932 Cadillac. I'll post that photo as soon as I dig it up. This '57 is powered by a 427 and is half daily driver half show car. It's owned and was built from the ground up TWICE by my friend Mike's dad... some of you may remember a photo of this car next to my Mad M…

I'm interested in some photo editing software, but I'm not sure which program to get. Here's what I want: *must be relatively easy to pick up *can not cost over $120, $150 at the most *allow me to enter chopping competitions and create sigs *and be reliable (i.e. does not crash frequently or close by itself) I'm looking at the Adobe Photo Shop Elements 4.0, since it's reasonably priced ($79.98 at Target), but Corel Photo something-or-another Version X looked like a good bet, too. Any suggestions?

I'm selling a car and a guy that called me is interested in a trade for a Caddy STS... I think it was a 97. I wasn't really planning a trade but I do like the STS and that would save me the hassle of going car hunting... What should I look for? I haven't seen it yet and I don't even know the miles so I don't have my hopes up for actually trading, but it does interest me. Like I said I love the STS... what problems are common in them? Where should I look to see if the guy actually took care of it or not?

Lately the Geo Prizm has been very slow to accelerate, and all mashing the gas does is cause the engine to make a lotta noise So here we were, last Monday, and my girlfriend and I were driving home from paying a bill. We're about a mile from home, and at a stop light. All of a sudden we both smell something burning, when the light turns green she tries to go but the car hardly moves. I tell her to pull into the nearest parking lot, and we do going like 5 mph. We pull in, I pop the hood, and there's some smoke coming from the tranny. I figure the clutch went. So in hundred+ heat we walk about halfway home until her aunt comes by and pics us up, and the car is towed to a …

After a particularly aggravating commute, I decided to post this list of the things that annoy me. These things may not seem like "bad driving", but they reduce the efficiency of our roads, and waste everyone's time. Feel free to post your own pet peeves as well. This list is expressway-specific. 1. People who don't get over to the right. You are supposed to drive in the right most lane unless passing. When the highway is packed, and you are constantly passing, go ahead and drive in the left lane. Expressways would flow so much better if everyone just moved over. Then I wouldn't have to guess what the guy in the middle lane is going to do when he encounters the slow…

So as some of you now know, and most probably do not, I have moved recently. I now live right at the intersection of Rt.3 & I-495 just outside of Lowell Mass. It's been a nerve wracking experience and I'm glad it's over. Now Sofia has more room to play and a much nicer back yard and the Super 88 & Datsun have semi- indoor storage. The Super will soon enough be sleeping in a barn when not driven. The only bad news is that we're renting again and didn't buy a house, but all good things come to those who wait. Now on with the show: I went to a car show again today with the Super 88. Kimbal's Ice Cream & Miniature Golf in Westford, MA. Just a few minutes…

I was giving this some thought as I periodically talk to or visit long time friends over the years...some of which I have seen this summer. Do you think most people change? I would say that, while they can, and some should, they don't. Essentially, all of my friends have the same personalities as when I first met them. Yeah, they've grown up, so they may look different over time. And, while they may have a different attitude or are more self-assured (that comes with time), they still have the same basic motivations and personal interaction style. My friend Bob in S.D. still acts much the same way as he did in college. It's just that, being in the business world a…

I stopped by the local GMC dealership this evening after work, went into the showroom and started leafing through that gigantic tablet they have, showing all the different models. A salesdude approached me, so I asked if he had any info, especially pictures, of the interior changes for '07 on the Canyon. He gave me an '06 Canyon brochure. Nice move. So I asked him to mail me an '07 Canyon brochure. We sat down at his desk while he took my info. I casually said, "I understand they're bumping these up for '07" He said, "Yeah, they have more horsepower, but I'm not sure the displacement is any bigger." I said, "Uh, yeah, the 4 is going to 2.9L and the 5 is going t…

My cousin was driving us back from a movie in their Taurus when an old lady pulled up beside us in a 98 Camry on the highway. My cousin for fun decided to hit the gas to try to pass her a bit and see if she would race. Then she nails her gas and she flew by us like we were standing still and we were doing 80. In a couple minutes we couldn't even see her. Funny thing was both cars had handicapped license plates.

I was wondering, after I saw a white 06 Miata with a chocolate top, why the Sky and Solstice only have black cloth tops and no optional colors. Does the Corvette still offer multiple colors for its convertible top? I know you USE to be able to choose from white, brown, or black...not sure if you can anymore. Anyway, guess my point is basically GM should definitely offer more than black for the Kappa top color, because that chocolate on white Miata was a damn good looking car.

Ok, so this conversation started at work towards the end of the day and continued over dinner and via text message through the night. Some friends and I were talking about ways to make already existing movies better, or at least more interesting. Some of my suggestions: Chuck Norris as Jesus in The Passion of the Christ. He has a beard already. Speaking of The Passion, wouldn't it have been a lot more interesting if M Night Shyamalan had written and directed it? How about Mel Gibson directing Schindler's list or The Sound of Music? There were more but those were the most amusing ones I can remember.

"Life seems to just pull people apart" That's what a friend and former co-worker wrote to me earlier this week. She was lamenting the fact that some people she had gotten to know and had been close with ... now seem to be "lost in time". Sadly, I know exactly what she means. I can remember friends in college, high school, grade school and even from just a few years ago, that, at the time, I couldn't imagine life without them. But now, I can only be a bit curious as to what they're doing now ... or even, for that matter, if they are alive. We've grown apart, not because we wanted to, but because life pulled us in different directions ... whether it be because of inte…

Didn't bother me, but when I got home and was laying down the inside of my cheek started getting caught on my tooth in back, you know like when you bite your tough or inside of your cheek by accident. Last Saturday (over a week ago), I am floating around a lake on an air mattress and was essentially dry, enjoying a beautiful day. Between boat wake and some wind, I picked up a few ripples of water. I adjusted myself on the mattress and fell in. Hitting the cold water sent a painful jolt through me and I must have jerked because I had excruciating pain from my shoulder through my fingers on one side. How I drove home is beyond me. I was miserable at work all week. I went to the doctor and got anti-inflammatory and pain killer meds. People at work even told me I looked miserable. I even took Wednesday off just so I could sleep and take all my medicine doses. So…

I've done a search and couldn't find any topic on E85, so I have to ask is there anybody using E85? We recently got an E85 pump at a Kroger gas station in Carrollton Texas. It's running $2.52 per gallon. The brochure states it's 100+ octane, but I haven't been able to tell any difference in power or otherwise since I've been using it. This is my 3rd tank and I have noticed a drop in MPG.....around 3-4 mpg less for city driving. Haven't been on a trip so I can't speak for hwy/mpg, but I could manage 20 mpg/hwy on regular...between 65-70 mph. The brochures they put out are pretty cool.. I guess this is where I introduce myself? Hi, I'm Sam. :AH-HA_wink: I guess you wouldn't call me new, as I've been lurking for about a year. I like the atmosphere of this place. It is my 3rd most visited site too [after myspace , and carspyshots.net]. So yeah. I just wanted to make myself "official" in C&G Land. Edit: I forgot to mention my car. What a shwagon it is: Its a 1997 Mercury Sable Wagon. My first car. It feels good to have my own set of wheels. I am proud to say that I paid for it myself, which to me is a big acomplishment. Now I just need to figure out how to save enough money to pay for gas and insurance :AH-HA_wink:

What do any of these 'concerns' have to do with USS Iowa? Its USS IOWA for crying out loud. What a great addition it would've made to a city as historic and vital to the Pacific Theatre as San Francisco... BTW, is this a recent thing or am I just not caught up with things?

Friday was the suckiest day of the summer. First off, my alarm clock didn't go off when it was supposed to, meaning that my mom came in very pissed off at me (I work at my parents' office, so that means she's my boss as well as my mom). Second, we ran out of my cereal, which meant that breakfast consisted of a very old, very dry Quaker oatmeal square. Third, it was hot-very hot and humid, and the air conditioner in the office decided to crap out on my side of the building-and only my side. But the worst part of the day was that my truck got sick-very, very sick. My dad usually drives it into work because he gets up before my mom and I do, so he gets his choice of vehicl…

Ok, so my new computer has a reccomended screen setting of 1680 x 1050 pixels, and most stuff look fine, except that some stuff (pics, smilies) appear slightly pixelated. I probably have to change the Internet settings somewhere, but if someone would tell me instead of me wasting my time looking, then I'd appreciate it.

Customer upset over Taco Bell "sauce wisdoms" Tuesday, June 06, 2006 Posted: 08:18 PM Link' WESLACO – One Valley woman says the slogan on Taco Bell’s sauce packets is offensive. As part of Taco Bell’s “Think outside the bun” campaign, the company held a contest last year for slogans to be printed on their sauce packets. Customers submitted their ideas, like “When I grow up I want to be a waterbed” and “You had me at taco”. The one that bothers Jessica Luna says, “Not to be used as a flotation device”. She tells NEWSCHANNEL 5, “Somewhere along their roots here, somebody came across the border from Mexico. Risking their lives to provide a better a life for their…

Toronto just hit a record high for energy consumption. Great. Hope we don't have any brownouts/blackouts. Can't blame people for using the A/C like crazy though: 36C (97F). Feels like 46C (115F).

I was walking down the street with a friend of mine in Toronto and this woman approached us and gave us some free passes for an advanced screening of "World Trade Center". I wasn't too keen on seeing this movie, as I was kind of worried that it would be more flag-waving sappy drivel like "Pearl Harbor" (the movie). Since my friend wanted to go, and we didn't have anything better to do, I let her convince me. I missed the very beginning (probably about 5 minutes), so I didn't get to see how they treated the actual event. However, this movie was not what I expected. This was much more a personal story about three people and how them and their families were affected that …

Why, may you ask? Well, it's because my Millenia really was bad purchase. Oh no... It still runs great and has been problem free thus far, but it is such a gas hog. I only get about 23 mpg average and it is really annoying. The highest I've gotten has been 26 mpg and that was only once. Now, for a 2.5L V6 engine with only 170hp... I'd expect alot better. Being that it takes Premium makes it worse. Between the V6 and the automatic... I really am regretting buying it. I knew I should have stuck with "4cyl, manual" for buying a car. But I was getting slack from you guys to "open up my options" and not be "picky" since I "just need a reliable car". Well, I'm stuck with one …

I have been going on line looking for rental cars and when you get a decent price for a rental then they show you what the junk charges are. For example I pulled up a weekly rental on a full size car at $163.00 at the airport in Ft. Lauderdale, and lo and behold, there are about $75.00 worth of absolute bogus junk charges that they try adding on top of that. This is nonsense. Where can you look for a rental at an honest price without all the crap fees? I wil be looking to rent again on August 12-19th.

Looks like the Dominator (Mr. Hasek) is back with the Wings for the '06-07 season.. Along with Williams who inked a new contract not too long ago. Question is, who will be wearing a C on their chest this year? Yzerman's gone, but that's okay because we still have some great leaders on the team, plus Stevie Y was missing a lot of games it seemed like. He'll be greatly missed from the game, though he'll probably be back in the office soon enough. I'm actually excited that Shanahan won't be around because he was only firepower and not much else. He was up there in age and not at the level where Detroit should be these days. Looks like we're trying to develop a younger te…

Had or heard any good ones lately? I was watching the Barrett-Jackson auction with a friend of mine. She saw an old pickup truck on there with wood in the bottom of the pickup bed, seemed like it was there to save the paint. So she says. "If I ever buy a pickup I'll get someone to put wood in my box." I also had one the first day I started at a computer shop, back in high school. I told the guy to put the dick in the drive.

Hey guys, On thursday I'm leaving with the family and one of my friends to Maui. We are staying at Napili. My family has been there a couple times before, and I've been once before when I was a lot younger. I don't remember too much from it. My buddy is excited because he hasn't been there before, and he loves fish so he is planning on snorkeling and scuba/snuba diving and just hanging out in the water for the most part. Does anyone know of any activities to do around there? Like in the Ka'anapali area or Lahaina or wherever? There will always be the snorkeling/diving options, but I was also thinking maybe parasailing, or personal watercraft rentals or just something a …

We have been receiving news about the new Cadillac Tag Line, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit." However, I just noticed that the ad on the back cover of last month's C&D is for the Silverado, and it says, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Horsepower." If this tag line possibly for all of GM?

Date posted: 07-29-2006 WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Chrysler Group is recalling 146,195 Jeep Grand Cherokees because cooling-fan blades may break and cause injuries to bystanders if the hood of the vehicle is open. At the same time, Toyota will recall more than 9400 early-model 2007 FJ Cruisers because of potential tire defects. The Jeep recall involves 2000 and 2002 Grand Cherokees with the 4.0-liter 6-cylinder engines. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the automaker collected nearly 200 complaints about broken fans. Chrysler Group will begin a national notification of owners of the Grand Cherokee in August. NHTSA also reported that the inner bead of t…

So here I am with my girlfriend in Wichita, KS for the summer. In May I flew down here, on August 20th, we're gonna driver her car back to Massachusetts. Her car is a 1994 Geo Prism, 1.6, with a 5-speed manual and 164K miles on it. As we know, the Prism is a basically a Toyota Corolla, with a slightly different front and rear end, and different center stack. The body is in great shape, save for a dent in teh passenger fender and a missaligned bumper, but has no rust at all. Sounds like a good car right? WRONG First the timing belt needs to be replaced, second it slips out of 3rd, and won't even go into 4th. Sometimes it won't go into Reverse. We went to Cottman Transmis…
