The COVID-19 pandemic has possibly caused another auto show to rethink their plans. According to Automotive News, organizers of the show are planning to delay the show from November to next May. Three sources tell the outlet the new dates are May 21st to 31st. Two of sources go on to say that an announcement could come this week. Automotive News tried to get comment from Terri Toennies, president of the show, but did not reply. Due to be fully revealed on November 28th, the first uncamouflaged pictures of the Hyundai Palisade have leaked out on a Russian website. Positioned as Hyundai's flagship SUV, the Palisade is an 8-passenger crossover designed to compete with the likes of the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada, and Dodge Durango. Today at an event before the LA Auto Show, Honda unveiled the 2019 Passport which will slot between CR-V and Pilot in their crossover lineup. Mazda's 2019 3 compact sedan and hatchback were introduced last night at the LA Auto Show and it is clear the brand is not messing around. Toyota has been on a quest to shed its ho-hum image for the past few years. We found their efforts to be somewhat mixed in terms of the design and powertrains, but applaud them for trying. Toyota has been doing their best to make the Camry and Avalon a bit more exciting to help shed their plain image. Their latest attempt involves Toyota Racing Development (TRD) to work their magic on these two sedans. I opened and closed hundreds of doors, sat in a bunch of seats, fingered plenty of dashboards, and took a few pictures. 2015 has been quite the year for Nissan with the launch of the 2016 Altima, Maxima, and Titan XD. To close out the year, Nissan has introduced an updated version of the Sentra at the LA Auto Show today. The facelift for the Sentra begins outside with a new V-Shaped front end found on the Altima and Maxima. There's also a set of new headlights with a boomerang shape and a reshaped hood. Hyundai’s attempts at building a three-row full-size crossover has been quite difficult. Previous attempts either were slightly too small or didn’t sell. The company is hoping their upcoming Palisade will be able to change their fortunes. The Palisade is the largest crossover Hyundai has ever offered with an overall length of 196.1 inches, width of 77.8 inches, and a wheelbase of 114.2 inches. That puts it right in the middle of other three-row full-size crossovers like the Honda Pilot, Dodge Durango, and Volkswagen Atlas. It is not as big as it looks, it is front wheel drive, the front end is polarizing, but Hyundai just might show the world that persistence pays off. This is their third try at a full-size 3-row SUV, but this might be the one that makes it stick. When I first saw the pictures of the Palisade, I thought it might be as big as a Nissan Armada but in person is a different story. At the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show today Mazda fully unveiled the re-engineered Mazda 6 sedan. Visually, the Mazda 6 is quite familiar to the current model, but Mazda was hard at work under the skin. The biggest news of course is the addition of the 2.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine sourced originally from the Mazda CX-9. Last week, we reported on a CARB document providing some details about the upcoming Subaru Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid. The document said the model would return "an electric range at 25.650 miles based on the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule - replicates city driving conditions." GMC's Denali lineup is going to get bigger with the introduction of two new models. First up is the 2017 GMC Canyon Denali. Like other Denali models, the Canyon version gets a number of chrome exterior pieces, polished exhaust tip, spray-in bedliner, and twenty-inch alloy wheels. The rollout of the next-generation Civic continues with the reveal of the 2016 Civic Coupe at the LA Auto Show today. Kia introduced the third-generation Soul at the LA Auto Show today and we're happy to report that the model still retains the funk. When Dodge unveiled the refreshed 2015 Charger at the New York Auto Show, everyone knew that a refresh for the 300 wouldn't be that far behind. It has been a long time since the ZR2 nameplate has graced a Chevrolet pickup. But the brand could be planning a comeback of the ZR2 if a concept shown today at the LA Auto Show is anything to go on. Ahead of the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, Kia released a teaser shot of the 2020 Kia Soul due to be unveiled on November 28th. In addition to the standard gasoline and gas-turbocharged models, an updated "gas-free" electric model with a larger 39kw battery borrowed from the Kia Niro and an estimated 140 mile range will be shown. However, Kia states that the 2020 Soul EV, like the current model, will be limited to sale only in certain states. If you thought Lamborghini for all but forgotten about rear-wheel drive, then the introduction of the Huracán LP580-2 at the LA Auto Show should give you joy.
