October has not been the best of months for Nissan. Earlier this month, Japan’s transport ministry revealed that at five of the company's six plants in the country had quality checks being certified by unauthorized workers. But NISMO is considering expanding their reach to other Nissan models. For the first time ever, Nissan will be offering a single cab variant of the Titan and Titan XD models. The Titan regular cab measures out to the same length as the crew cab (228.1 inches) and uses the same wheelbase length (139.8 inches). The Titan XD regular cab is about a foot shorter than the XD crew cab (231 vs. 242.8 inches). Both models will get an eight-foot bed. Nissan's Newest SUV is a Rogue ...literally. Today Nissan released a sneak peek at a new small crossover utility view called the Rogue that it will be debuting at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in January. Automotive News reports the Rogue will be smaller than the Murano and be powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine when it goes on sale late next year as a 2008 model. Ghosn lawyer's office said it would be near impossible for him to be released the same day due to an appeal by the prosecutor's office. 2023 sales figures for Nissan show that they sold 898,796 over 22 models. One car is an outlier: the company's flagship GT-R. Somehow, 390 of Nissan's supercar-fighting GT-R were sold. That is an incredibly high increase of 584% compared to 57 GT-Rs sold in 2022. Speculation as to the boost in sales can be attributed to the 2023 refresh. New GT-Rs have a new fascia both front and rear for better aerodynamics. Nismo models now come with a front limited-slip differential. But new reports reveal that he'll be stepping down later this week. Reuters has learned from three sources that Ghosn has agreed to resign from Renault. This stems from Renault's largest stockholder, the French government calling for a leadership change. Also, Ghosn's latest request for bail was rejected by a Tokyo court. The dream of Carlos Ghosn spending the holidays outside of jail has been dashed. Early this morning in Tokyo, prosecutors re-arrested Ghosn on new charges that allege he shifted personal trades to Nissan to "make it responsible for 1.85 billion yen ($16.6 million) in appraisal losses," around October 2008. Prosecutors also allege that Ghosn had Nissan " deposit a total of $14.7 million on four occasions between June 2009 and March 2012 into a related bank account." I thought I was seeing a rash of 1st gen Priuses out there, but the I realized that Nissan recycled Toyota's lack of style and created the Versa Sedan. I don't even think this is a debatable point, these two look EXACTLY the same from the rear. The taillights look interchangeable. I hate them both.

We just experienced firsthand the unbridled awesomeness contained within the body shell of Nissan's new über-Mechagodzilla, the GT-R. Apparently, Nissan is a true believer in the car's kickassedness and would prefer if owner's didn't eff it up with superfluous wings, flares and other accoutrements that have no hope of making the car better than it already is. Wards Auto reports that Nissan is planning to launch more engine options in the near future. “From a product standpoint, in the future you’ll see more engine offerings, and it’s full steam ahead. The current Nissan Leaf offers a max range of 107 miles. But that will pale in comparison with the upcoming Chevrolet Bolt and Tesla Model 3 which will offer a range of 200 miles. Nissan is aware of this and will be addressing this with the next-generation Leaf. Announced this week, Kelly Blue Book forecasts that after three years, a 2013 Nissan Leaf will retain 35 percent of its original sticker price. That is five percent less than 2012 Leaf's resale value after three years. A major reason for the drop is attributed to 2013's lower MSRP. The recall affects 1,015,306 units of the company's March and Cube subcompacts that were manufactured between 1991 and 2000, spokeswoman Pauline Kee said. Wandered around Pickering yesterday at lunch looking for a hybrid to drive. Stopped at an Acura dealer first, in case there was a hybrid CSX (I thought that made sense but apparently not). Then I stopped at Chevy, where the salesman told me they haven't ordered another Silverado hybrid since the first one took them many months to sell. Next door was Nissan, who had a Altima hybrid on display. Lettering on the windshield proclaimed a $3500 rebate from the Canadian government.
