Source: http://news.pickuptr...on-the-way.html The article shows these two Colorado pictures, as none of the Canyon exist yet: colorado1.bmp colorado2.bmp I think the red one looks way better than the silver one. Something just looks better with the way the red one sits is on the road compared to the "squeezed" look of the silver one.

Hello Everybody, Let me start off by saying I know very little about cars. I'm a software engineer by trade so please keep that in mind as you respond to my post(s). I know most of the basic components work. I can fix a flat and change my oil but that's about it. Here's my story: I've been contemplating for the past, oh I don't know...year and a half, about buying a new car. I'm at the point in my life (and career for that matter) where I can afford to buy myself something nice. During that time, the Sierra Denali has been front and center in my thinking. I haven't really been thinking about it all that seriously though because I don't really drive that much any…

2000 GMC Sierra Stepside Z71 thinking of putting on a lift kit probably nothing more then 2/3" (would like to still get into garages and drive-thrus) But I am not sure If i should get a suspension lift kit (and all that comes with it) or a body lift kit. What is easier? What will cause more headach in the end? I know the price difference but are there things about a lift kit that most do not pay attention to (ex. driveshaft, axelwrap, etc.)????

Well I will start a long term road test on the 2012 GMC Terrain on Tuesday. Or should I say my wife will. We just bought her a new 12 Terrain SLT-2 in Mocha Steel with all the options including the 19" wheels less AWD. We have been checking them out for a while. We started looking at the Nox but delayed it as we moved and did some building at the new home. Now that we have gotten through winter we went out to check on what we could do on a deal for a Terrain. Neither of us liked the Terrain when it came out but the larger wheels filling up the wheel;wells made made us take interest. We got a pretty good deal at of all things a GMC only dealer. Bet you don't see many o…

GM @ Middle East Intl. Motor Show 2008 GMC Terrain Link to Original Article @ DriveArabia The 2007 Middle East International Motor Show in Dubai played host to its very own “world premiere” by General Motors. The new vehicle is the 2008 GMC Terrain for the Middle East market. Of course, this new compact 4WD is already on sale in Europe as the Opel Antara. The softroader is largely based on the Korean-built Chevy Captiva, so we expect similar engine options. It rounds off the GMC line-up perfectly, since the expensive Acadia is too large for most people.

Memorial: GMC Syclone And Typhoon
by Guest YellowJacket894- 21 replies

In 1989 GMC stuffed a turbocharged 3.8 liter V6 engine from the legendary 1987 Buick Grand National into an all-wheel drive equipped GMC S-15 engine bay to create the GMC Syclone concept for the Chicago Auto Show. The truck generated favorable interest and people were wondering if a production version was coming. I think we all know the answer to that. In 1990, GM gave the Syclone a thumbs-up. In 1991, the Syclone ripped its way to dealer lots (with a turbo 4.3 V6 instead of the 3.8 GN powerplant). The public's response was great and GMC soon shoehorned the Syclone's turbo 4.3 into the two-door S-15 Jimmy body. The result was the Typhoon. The purpose here is to …

I'm curious, and maybe someone can enlighten me. What killed the Envoy XUV concept, yet the Avalanche and Escalade are doing well! I would think that a mid-size multi-function truck would have solved many needs in the marketplace. Was is overpriced? Did it not perform its multi-tasks well? Did it have any mechanical or functional problems? In that vein, many people have asked for the Nomad concept vehicle..... and GM continues to ignore them, yet it has built 3 iterations of the concept, since the '55-'57 Nomads. It even built a Nomad van for a while, and then discontinued it. Why? Do multi-function vehicles compromise too much? Why hasn't a Colorado-sized version…

Yes it's true, I have a secret fetish. It's time I have come clean as it were. Since I was a boy of 10, I have had a desire to restore and own a GMC New Look (Fishbowl) bus. Am I alone in my desire for a bus or are there more of you out there, closeted in your love for GMC buses? Yes sad as it is, I have even collected pics of these buses over the years much like a normal person who collects pics of cars and trucks. Here is one of my pretty babies, isn't she beautiful?

The front end does look different from the Yukon, adding to what insiders have said about the pickups looking much different from the SUVs.

It was reported a couple of days ago over at autoblog that the next GMC Acadia is to debut at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show; however, they have now posted an update to the article that states the Acadia is to receive a mid-cycle enhancement (MCE) only: I kind of think it's a little late for a MCE at this point... the Acadia has been available for 6 years now (on sale in 2006 as a 2007 model), and if a new version is coming for 2013, is it really a good idea to spend that kind of money for a one year deal? Of course the bad news could be that the current Acadia (and Enclave) stick around with this MCE for another couple of years. Your thoughts? Source: autoblog

Article Monday, February 11, 2008 Feds to investigate GM SUV fires Associated Press WASHINGTON -- The government is investigating reports of engine fires in General Motors' full-size sport utility vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received two reports of fires on 2007 model year Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs. Both reports allege that the vehicles were parked in a home garage with the engine shut off when the fires occurred, causing significant property damage. The investigation, which also includes the 2007 GMC Yukon SUV, involves about 423,000 SUVs. General Motors Corp. spokesman Alan Adler says today the company was coope…

Just some previews of what the press said at a recent 2007 Yukon drive: Media Drive Feedback The following are quotes from key media members following the recent Yukon media drive. “The 6.2 (liter engine) is great and I love the 6-speed, buttery-smooth powertrain.” — Mark Williams, Truck Trend “Vehicle is balanced and stable, you feel well planted to the road.” — Bob Gritzinger, AutoWeek “The interiors are spectacular — like you're in a luxury car, not a truck.” — John McCormick “It's clear that everybody's done their homework on these vehicles. Ride, isolation, noise reduction — better in every way.” — John Stewart, Four Wheeler

I just flew into beautiful soggy Orlando, Florida for a convention and decided to rent one of the Lamda trio for the week I am here to see how it handles it's duties day to day. We will be transporting people to the show, 5-7 of them on certain days, as well as showing customers around a few bakeries in the area. Unlike my normal one-person point of view when I rent a car, I want to see how it handles the people and the luggage that goes with them. Also, my wife and I will be considering this truck and the Saturn sibling when her lease is up on our lemon-y unfresh Commander. So at National I pick up an Acadia SLT FWD in bright silver over grey leather. Pretty attrac…

Aparently on the new GMT900s if you opt for the Navigation radio you only get a single slot DVD/CD player. No CD changer available like the previous models. This stinks! When you have the Nav CD in the player, you have no option to play music CDs. This seems like a typical GM oversight to me. Even the Caddy does not offer a CD changer. You get one extra slot for 1 more disc. Better, but still not adequate. Comments?

SPIED: '12 GMC Terrain Denali - NO Camo! It looks like GM was hoping to hide this 2012 Terrain Denali in plain view today, roaming around Detroit with NO camouflage at all! Once the engineer behind the wheels saw our camera, however, he made a quick get-away! Up front, it's very easy to see the Denali-style grille. Though we're pretty sure that grille will be chrome once this vehicle starts production. In back, we can see a new square, chrome exhaust tip. Along the rocker panels, we can see exposed fastener holes where we assume some Denali-specific trim will eventually be installed. Bright finish, Denali wheels should also on the list. Spied! 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 Heavy Duty Last month, our spies caught a lightly disguised 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 Heavy Duty pickup out and about, showing off its new three-bar perforated grille that shares styling with the 2010 GMC Terrain midsize crossover. Judging by the looks of this prototype, plans for a GMC version of General Motors' updated Theta platform are almost ready for prime-time. Essentially the replacement for the Pontiac Torrent, this cladded-up GMC Terrain prototype reveals a masculine, blocky exterior with good differentiation between it and the forthcoming Chevrolet Equinox successor. A large, quadrangular shield grille stands proud while the blocky bumperette-style outcroppings in the corners give the crossover a bluff looking front end in a bid to reinforce GMC's image as a truck brand. In profile, the crossover has strong, squared-off wheel arches and flares that alleviate its otherwise slab sides, an…

Ok guys, I need someone's help that maybe works at the factory or a dealership. I just ordered my 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, well, it will be a while till I get it, so I was in my office just going through the brochure, reading about all my new goodies coming my way and noticed a discrepancy. I hardly listen to CD's so I just took the single CD because it didn't cost any extra. However, looking through the brochure, I notice that on the SLT trim that I picked, the 6 disc in dash is standard with that trim package? Called my dealer and asked if he co…

Hello - My wife and I are looking for another SUV and I'm just curious what you all think of the Suburban vs the Yukon XL and the Yukon XL vs the Escalade ESV. Do you think the significant price hike between the XL and ESV is worth it? As best as I can tell, the noticeable differences are a much better quality trim (leather-wrapped in the Escalade - painted plastic in the Yukon), the Escalade has a Bose 5.1 surround system, a bigger navigation screen and a better ride (IMO.) The downside is, even with my GMS pricing, it's $12k more and it doesn't have Active Fuel Management and FlexFuel (stupid move on GM's part) I appreciate any feedback and insight.

I just sent, through Edmunds, price quote requests to 4 local GMC dealers for a 2007 Sierra. We'll see if they are interested in getting back with me, and what kind of discounts they'll offer. Edmunds says I should be able to buy the truck for $600 under MSRP. The truck I spec'd: 2WD regular cab shortbed SLE1 decor package LY5 5.3L engine G80 locking differential, 3.42 ratio SLE1 Preferred Package Stealth Gray with Dark/Light Titanium interior MSRP: $26,460. I have a purchase price, a downpayment, and a monthly payment ceiling in mind. Now I'll wait to see which dealer responds with the best price. Wish me luck.

GMC: Crossing over this fall Automotive News / August 21, 2006 - 6:00 am Acadia: GMC adds a mid-sized crossover called the Acadia for the 2007 model year, built on General Motors' new front-wheel-drive Lambda architecture. The Acadia will be GMC's first crossover and will hit dealerships this fall, soon after Saturn launches its new crossover, the Outlook. The vehicles share the same architecture. The Acadia has three rows of seats and can seat up to eight people. It will be powered by a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine capable of 267 hp. Small crossover: GMC will not get a small crossover. Check out the pictures someone ignored the embargo on of the new GMC Zeta. I will not post the pictures here but you cvan see them at Aublog.com Boys I think we are looking at the future and it looks great. We have a Zeta with truck like shoulders. GMC added a hybrid system to this and made a vehicle that would make a joke out of the Toyota and Honda entries in this small unibody truck market. The XT has a V8 and should have many of the abilities of the old 1/2 ton truck but in a more Crossover/Car like platform. I can see this as a way to combate the loss of truck sales and move people to a more higher mileage platform. Now if they could also do this in a l…

Hey guys, not quite sure if this is where this thread belongs, but hopefully if not, It will get moved. I didn't know if the dealers typically follow a pattern in rebates through the months of the year. I ordered a new 2500HD and it will be here in February. DIdn't know if that was traditionally a bad month and hopefully they usually give bigger rebates then???????? I believe they're somewhere around $1500-2000 now. It will be my first ever new vehicle purchase, so I don't have any past experience with new car rebates to go back on. Thanks in advance.

I do not really want to worry about a big rig horn with all the compressor and mounting junk so just a quick replacement for a louder/deeper horn would be great. ANY SUGGESTION???
