  8. We just bought a HHR 2LT last night, to be picked up today. I love the 0%, it helped us get MUCH more car for our $$ without devaluing the car via a rebate. Our new HHR is/has; 1. Daytona Blue exterior 2. Medium Cashmere Cloth Seats (wife hates leather) 3. Roof rails 4. Running Boards 5. 5-speed 6. 17 inch high polished wheels 7. Cargo Mat 8. Sunroof 9. 260 watt Pioneer sound system 10. In-dash CD changer 11. more At 39,000 miles our little Cobalt has served us well in the past year, it was just too small and I wanted something with "luxury" options. It's kinda fun to have gotten the exact car on the front of the selling brochure.

Well I feel like a big loser for still not posting my 1959 Buick LeSabre two-door post sedan, or the "Banana Boat" 1977 Cadillac Coupe deVille in this sub-forum. Both of these old GMs are, in different ways, project cars of mine. The Buick was used as a daily driver for 7000 miles last summer, and is now receiving some over-due TLC. The 49 year old 364 cubic inch V8 is half appart. The Banana on the other hand is my current daily driver, a 4500lbs. "coupe" powered by a seven liter pushrod Cadillac block. 13 mpg is about all I'm getting since I drive it like I stole it. Not very condusive to $4.15/ gallon gasoline prices, esp. since I driv…

So I've been talking about buying a 1959 Buick of some sort for a couple months now. I'm dead set on doing it as soon as the Camaro goes off to a good home and as of last week I've made the first step towards completing this mission. I'm now the owner of 0.03% of a 1959 Buick. I bought a '59 Massachusetts License Plate from a classic car junkyard the other day. Set me back a cool $3.00 too. I was walking along with my buddy Ross and I glance at a 1950 Ford and notice a "59 MASS" plate on the back of it. It only took me about 20 minutes to get the damn thing off the back of the car since it was rusted on like a porthole on the Titanic. Now all I need is to bu…

The work was done in Late November so I was getting ready to put it away for the winter. 35. I'll explain what I mean by "homecoming." Never did I think I'd drive my car across the international border between the stare of New York and province of Ontario, with a destination of Toronto. I was a little on edge, given that Toronto has grown so much since I last drove in it. I knew my way around Vancouver fairly well, even with the growth. I wonder if border agents have heard the explanation that, in addition to visiting Toronto, someone wanted to take their car to "see" its "birthplace." Well, being in Toronto means being a little more than 30 minutes from Oshawa, the lauded GM plant at which my car was built. In addition to seeing Toronto, I thought I'd …

Steering Wheel, etc) The lease was up on our 2014 300S and it wasn't worth close to the buy out so it was time for something else. Why did I chose the much maligned Chrysler 200 you ask? Several reasons, really. Reason one: I got a really, really good deal on a lightly used 2015 that had never left dealer inventory. It is a hell of a lot of car for the money. A less than a year old car fairly well optioned that stickered around $31k and I picked up for $17,500 with only 5500 miles on the clock. Granted it was used…

This time I found an 89 Camaro RS Convertible. The guy was asking $1700 and we got it for $1450. It has the 305 TBI engine with an auto. It runs and drives great and only could use a minor tuneup and tranny servicing. The paint is faded but there are only 2 small dents on the car. The top needs to be replaced badly. The Camaro was next to a house that burned down and the top was burned in areas and some of the paint was overheated. More pics can be seen here. Luckily I didn't need to put the effort in on the Impala. I spotted a rust spot on it behind the chrome trim on the trunk-lid and after the body shop fixed this under warranty they did a whole interior/exterior detailing job complete with wax, tire shine and a steam bath for the engine (score). The chip and rust spot are invisible now and a great job was done (Pics on that later).

Went the next county over to check out cars for mom today. I helped her wash up her Kia Forte because she wanted to see what it was worth. She ended up signing paperwork on a 2021 Kia Soul LX in Mars Orange with gray and black interior. For about $500 more MSRP v. a Hyundai Venue SE, she got a bigger, nicer car overall, and it's what she really wanted. She's tickled. I drove it back from the dealership, it's a nice driving little car. And since cost was of paramount concern, the fact that her lease payments are $2.00 LESS per month than her unloved Forte, it makes me feel better that she can comfortably afford it.

  65. A common source of kvetching from my brother since he began driving the Regal was that its OEM CD/Cassette stereo doesn't have an AUX jack for iPod purposes. Double-DIN sized head units that look like they fit with the car are more expensive and theft magnets. They also would sacrifice the functionality of the redundant steering wheel controls. Casette and FM modulators always seem to leave something in the audio quality department as well. Then, not too long ago, I was watching Saabkyle04 on YouTube review his new 1995 Roadmaster Limited and I noticed he managed to get his hands on a Buick Monsoon Audio stereo that had been refurbished and in this process had an AUX ja…

So as you guys may recall the T&C came to use in a bit of a mass. The bumper had caved in, which included the cover and the the actual bumper, it also bent some of the front end so the headlight housing/grill don't all fit quite right anymore. At the time it looked pretty bad, and it was further compounded by lack of avaialble parts. Eventually after hunting through 6 junlkyards I found a downer, a blue Caravan. Last week I sanded and painted the bumper I got white with some automotive spray paint and primer I got from teh parts store. Today I, along with some help from my brother put it all back together, Have a look. It's very rewardi…

Ratillac for now, anyways, but hopefully not forever. For whatever reason my girlfriend and parents really love this car (you should have seen some of the looks most of my past beaters have gotten!) and that alone is enough for me to make it nice as time goes on. Maybe I can convince one of them can "babysit" it for me if I find myself in need of space for a new toy a few years down the road :AH-HA_wink: So as you all probably know by now, I picked up a 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille a few weeks ago for the princely sum of $600 off of two fruity yuppie brothers in southern New Hampshire: The dorks at the front and rear of the car are them. The dork in the middle wear…

Me and the wife just picked up our brand new 2006 Ford Escape XLT to replace her aging 1997 F-150. Redfire Metallic, gorgeous color, with the 3.0L V6 and 4WD. 6-CD disc changer, power everything, and they're having a moonroof installed next week. We got it for just over $24,000 with my discount through CompUSA. And with 0% financing for 60 months our payments are only $407 a month!

Dad has had his '96 Legacy wagon since summer of '08, and for a $1000 Craigslist find...still one of the best cars ever in the family, period. Insane AWD traction, solidly built, and efficient 2.2L. Bought it with 182k, got over 200k now I think, but in recent months now after no issues has been overheating again & again. Researching the boxer I knew headgaskets were a common item on the 2.5L engine and likely also on the 2.2L, just not as much so. With so many miles and so many years, most likely why. Rather than spend the money to repair, Craigslist time it was again. Called me a month back saying he wished he could find a Baja. Same car but liked the idea of the t…

But here it is now. http://media.putfile.com/Achieva-driving-around I had to use some trial version of a converting utility so that's why there's that filmstrip icon and the video got a bit skewed after the conversion but the quality is still there. *EDIT* Larger filesize but will be viewable without having to download Divx codec http://media.putfile.com/DeckasAchieva

BENTLEY Jaguar XKE (red leather interior) 1931 Model A Ford He had the Ford in high school and up until a few years ago. I always loved riding in the rumble seat, but it was prone to breakdowns. It has a feature installed that took advantage of the air intake system and by manipulating a little knob or lever, he could make it do a wolf whistle, or the regular kind (backwards wolf whistle). The Jag he had when he was in his mid 20s. He is a painter and traded one of his abstracts for that car. He was very popular with the ladies, or so he says, but with that car I believe it. The Bently I think he bought for about $15k, which even in the 70s was really cheap. It had …

So, as mentioned, Josh was looking into Escapes aaaaannnnddddd.... Basically, its a '13 Titanium AWD with the 2.0L Ecoboost, pearl white with black full leather, panoramic sunroof, navigation, parking tech package, and towing package. I'm pretty certain it has every option available from the factory. The window sticker indicates it was special ordered and stickered for a hair over $38k.

Hi all. Well last weekend my parents, or rather I, pciked up their new 2007 Aura XR. We had ordered it optioned as follows. Ocean Mist exteiorior, Ebondy Leather Interior with Sunroof. Other than that just the standard XR loadout which is considerable anyways. The MSRP was going to be 27k and Payments were going to be 333 a month with $1995 and first payment due at pickup. MY dad and I, as some of you know Dad has MS and doesn't drive anymore, got dropped off by my Mom o pick up her new car while she went to do errands. IT wasn't the car we ordered. It was close but there were some differences. It was the right colors and trim but instead of the s…

Today I drove my grandpa's 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis he bought last summer. It's an LS Ultimate, which is the top of the line model. It's fully loaded with heated front seats, side airbags, standard wood trim and leather surfaces, power adjustable pedals, power moonroof....all the bells and whistles. *Note: Not the actual car, but exactly like it Inside, the dash may be a little dated looking compared to what's available today, but the materials and fit-and-finish were all pretty high quality. I really didn't find any hard plastics anywhere besides on the seat backs. The door handles all felt firm and solid and the doors closed with a nice thud. The wo…

I'll be starting a total frameoff restoration/rebuild/modification of my wife's 2002 GMC Yukon in the next couple weeks. I will chronicle the job here. Will post before pics soon. The plan is, take it down to the frame, sandblast and powercoat the frame and most things attached to it. Add an air locker to the rear end, lift it about 2inches. Modify it to use a stick transfer case instead of the push button setup it has, lockouts on the front wheels. Repaint it from white to purple, rebuild trans to handle larger tires, rebuild engine to about 350hp. Interior mostly stock but recover the seats and new carpet
