Inside Line Link Why We Bought It Chevrolet has never really had anything that could challenge the standouts of the economy-car class, the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. When Chevrolet finally replaced the aging Cavalier with the 2005 Cobalt, our hopes soared. Now Chevy's import fighter had a more powerful engine, sharper styling and a promise of improved build and materials quality. Naturally, we were curious enough to put one into our long-term fleet. We spec'd out a loaded 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt LT sedan. With leather seats, a moonroof, upgraded audio with XM radio and a rear spoiler, it listed for $20,100. With the employee discount and rebates we got it for $17,82…

Super Vette Spied! Again! Chevy’s 650-hp Corvette SS caught heading in for EPA testing AutoWeek | Published 11/06/06, 9:03 am et Link to full article and pics @ Autoweek Not even a month has passed since we first reported on Chevrolet’s plans for a super Corvette, a halo model well in excess of the already superb Z06. Judging by these spy shots, it appears assurances we were given earlier this year that the car was on the development fast track (“To Hell and Back,” May were right on target. These photos were taken by George Kachadoorian just outside of Ann Arbor last week. He suspects the car was headed in for EPA testing. While the hood scoop indicates t…

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/motoring...olet_ultra.html This part of the article jumped out at me... I tend to think the writer is being a little optimistic here: " With a production version that’s set to look virtually identical to the concept going on sale in 2008, the newcomer is primed to cause a real stir in the compact family hatch market. " What I do see is the evolution of the Chevy grille already - with the upper part of the grille getting a twist inward. You'll see what I mean when you get a look at the Chevy Colorado SEMA concept that is going to emulate this front-end look (still embargoed).

Looks like Chevy has finally given up on being the only 2 door car in NA$CAR. I know the market is small, but I still see quite a few Monte's on the road around here. I've lost my love of NA$CAR racing since they started with the Ford Taurus in '98 and was glad that Chevy stayed true to the 2 door "stock" car. Looks like time has run out. With the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, Toyota Yaris and a newly redesigned Hyundai Accent already on sale, the entry of the 2007 Chevrolet Aveo into this highly competitive segment seems like old news. And they've done it. (Well, duh.. the Z06 goes like 197 doesn't it?) Rumors of a V6-powered Corvette model have been floating around for years but weren't taken very seriously until Motor Trend decided to spend some ink on it a few issues ago and predict the six-cylinder model would revive the "Sting Ray" name. The model would basically be a Chevy-branded version of the Kappa roadster that GM has liberally passed out to such brands as Pontiac (Solstice), Saturn (Sky) and Opel (GT). Chevy's version would be different in that power would come from a V6 rather than an inline-four cylinder, and rumor has it that it would be badged a Corvette. Since the '07 Impala had no styling changes whatever from the'06, does anyone know what changes might be in store for the '08 model? Specifically: Any revisions at all to either the front end clip, or the trunk/taillight design? I could see that they might want to change the front end clip a bit, to make it more in synch with the bigger grille on the '08 Malibu. And I really wish they would so SOMETHING with the taillights; they are so non-descript so as to be almost indistinguishable from just about every new sedan (Accord, Five Hundred, Montego, G6. etc., etc.). I had many a shirt/poster/etc with that black MC SS (and had a 1987 MC SS Aero Coupe) and Lumina. That car color combo is legendary. Then in 2001, it all changed. Anyone here have a clue to what this is? Is this the long talked about and never seen Chevy 3 valve head? I posted it here as this was on the CamaroZ28.com site and they were all wondering if this may be a glimps of the future Camaro engine. If anything it is GM and a very interesting layout. Some over there were claiming red lines od 6,600 to 7,000. Also it was claimed to have the same low end torque as a LS but it continued where the other stopped. If true this would be a big jump over the Ford 3 valve. All of this is speculation from the Camaro web site and has not been confirmed. So just enjoy till we hear more!

I was flipping throught channels and somehow ended up on CNN. I beleive it was a story about hybrids that was on. I wasn't really paying attention. At the end of the video clip, it showed what I guess was the Chevy Lambda. It looked like a toned down sequel with the Chevy grill. I have no idea why that would have been on there, but it was there. I'm not crazy, though I'm sure I'll get people telling me that I am. Haha. Ill keep watchign to see if the story repeats. Edit: I was originally thinking it was the SUV, but maybe it was the minivan?

But I am depressed that no such beast made it to the 1978 redesign . But of course It probably would have been a stripped down Monte Carlo,or would it have been the basis for the Monte Carlo?(How Ironic! The Monte was a plusher version of the Chevelle!) In my scenario, the Heavy Chevy would have continued on, and eventually, the Monte Carlo would take the long walk in 1981, and the proposed Monte SS would have become the Chevelle SS! The Chevelle would have gotten its own dedicated platform, the S Body, which is bas…

At the GM show n' shine, they had a crew cab Silverado, grey exterior with grey two tone leather interior. The exterior was my least favourite configuration with its short short bed, smaller wheels, and full chrome front end. It's the interior that tells the story. Believe it or not, while the plastics in the Tahoe's interior are acceptable, the LT actually had more soft touch. It's a very classy evolution of GM's past themes in their fullsizers. I can say with a straight face that I like the "work truck" dash better.

Well, that's what Chevy is doing right now. Two years ago, we brought our all-new Aveo to market, as "the small car that thinks big." And now, we defy the norms of the auto industry by introducing a new Aveo Sedan for the 2007 model year. Aveo has been the sales leader in this segment virtually since its introduction, and this dynamite new four-door promises to continue that trend. Chevrolet Camaro Concept: Design Note: Recently, I brought you details about the design of the new Dodge Challenger, the concept that served as a precursor to Dodge’s re-entry into the revitalized Pony Car segment. In that article, you got to see a good chunk of images you had to pay-to-see over at Car Design News (which, to me, isn’t fair at all) and read about styling elements, etc. Now it’s time we look at an equally legendary machine: the Camaro These two sketches show a car that in no way is a Camaro and tends to be very futuristic. Cues from GM’s Autonomy concept and the Saturn Curve concept seem to litter these sketches. This early sketch shows cues from the…
