The cost of Burger King's chicken fries, that is. I swear, they used to be less than $4.50... Now in some places they are up to $5.60. I don't think the cost of a crate of live chicken has gone up any. The King is greedy and just wants to take advantage of the fright from bird flu. I'm going to have to switch fast-food restaurants. BK's tasty chicken fries turn me into a chicken guzzler. If I switch to Mcdonald's, which are much less tasty, I'll ween myself off chicken and eventually become a vegetarian. It's the trend of the future. We need to save all of our chicken before bird flu makes them extinct. Think of the food chain.

No more trans fats in NY has been approved by the Board of Health. Fat's All Folks Canola and other oils are going to be used instead now. Someone brought up an intersting point to me earlier regarding diabetics... Canola is a no-no...I havent really looked into it but diabetics are not supposed to consume canola because it is transformed into gluccose... Are we trading heart disease for diabetes? 6 or half dozen of the other??? Or more importantly- am I going to have to go to Jersey to get a decent french fry?? Dont laugh...you might be next.

Ugh, the damned DNC is leaving unsolicited messages on my telephone, urging me to vote for that crackpot Obama. I've had to erase like 6 messages so far off my phone. What a bunch of blowhard a-holes. What makes these dizzy-asses think I want to listen to their CRAP? I should call back with *69 and see if I can get ahold of a real moron over there and cuss them out.

Well, I finally found what I’ve been looking for, in my price range. This past Saturday I picked up a 2016 Lincoln MKC. 37,460 miles, $21,000, 2.3T engine with AWD. Upgraded real leather seats in dark brown and cream that I absolutely love. It had auto-high beams that I was skeptical about how well they flip off then back on and they’re surprisingly fantastic. As soon as any headlights show up in front of my they flip off, be it just over a hill or a mile ahead of me. Neat. Classic Ford, I already have to hit up my local dealership because the exterior thermostat is reading waaaay off(like -35F) therefor also throwing off the temp thst throws out the HVAC. It’s stil…

Ok, I know this is a GM fansite and all, but there's one thing we really need to stop. Defending GM cars JUST because they are GM's cars. I've been watching this for a while now, and use to do it myself. But after being inside of my 2001 Crapalier, I've come to a new understanding of what being a GM fan is, and now I'm going to spell it out. You CANNOT pretend that GM cars made before the 2005 MY are as good or better than their foreign counterparts. The 2004 Malibu is a POS compared to the 2004 Accord, a vehicle that was in production for, what? 2 years? Yeah. You CANNOT continue to pretend that GMs marketshare hemorrhage for the past 30 years…

I washed/waxed/cleaned the '87 MC LS this past Saturday ... but, didn't get the older 4 MCs out yet. On Sunday, I was feeling too many muscles that I had forgotten to muster the energy and patience to get the older ones out. Ah, well ... perhaps this coming weekend . Anyway ... I went for a short drive in the '87 MC LS Sunday afternoon ... after having lunch and spending some time with my sis and bro-in-law. On the way home, I stopped at a gas station to fill 'er up. As I was doing so, a guy parked next to me at another pump was shaking his head, looking at my car. So, I asked him if something was wrong.... He said something about how "you guys don't seem to get it…

What do you really hate about people's cars that you've been in? I'll start with my neighbors 2000 Ford Focus.... Everytime there is a bump/turn/road disturbance...I bang my head on the C-pillar in the backseat..It is SOOOO annoying! The inside of the car is too narrow and compact for me. Here are six reasons why you should think before you speak - The last one is great! Have you ever spoken and wished that you could Immediately take the words back... Or that you could crawl into a hole? Here are the Testimonials of a few! people who did.... FIRST TESTIMONY: I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow and asked loudly, 'How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?' I turned around and walked back out and never went back. My husband didn't say a word... He knew better. SECOND TESTIMONY: I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls. I was unhappy with the women's type I had been using. After…

Hey guys been a long time since I've posted on the forums so I'd figured I'd give a good return asking for some advice on a piece of Chevrolet history. I have the opportunity to buy a 1965 Chevy Impala SS 283 Convertible. Current owner is the 2nd owner and has owned it since the early 1980s. The car has been sitting in his garage for the past 8 years with start ups twice a year. Frame is solid, body needs some work (some rust spots along bottom, pics attached) and the engine runs smooth. The top has a hole and need replacing. Current owner had a true dual exhaust put on (not sure what brand) about 20 years ago from a local exhaust shop. Anything I should look for that …

Well I was thinking about trading my 2005 Silverado in on a new Pontiac GTO. Probably won't happen but ive been thinking about it. Anyway I need some help with info on the GTO. If I get one it would be a 6 speed manual. Anyone have any idea how strong the clutches and rear ends are in these cars. I wouldn't rip the car around alot maybe once in a while. I just want to know if one of these cars are pretty reliable?

there are two on criagslist that i am currently considering. One is this 1975 honda cb360t http://greenville.craigslist.org/mcy/3603971001.html the other is this 1976 honda cb750k http://greenville.craigslist.org/mcd/3589964989.html i have done some research on the 360t because i am not really familiar with that model. it was only produced a few years and other than there being a recall on them for a cam chain tension defect, they seem pretty sound. with only 3000 miles it seems like a pretty good starter bike. However, the parts (some mechanical) are hard to come by and pretty expensive if needed. The CB750 is pretty much a guys fair weather ride. has 23K miles on …

Hey all, My GF needs a car and can't afford one, so, since we are extremley serious with wedding bells in the future, I decided to be a good BF and get her one. Now I'm not going off half cocked and buying her a car that will be in her name in case things don't work out (It will be in my name and I'll add her to my insurance) but I'm find of excited by the prospect of getting an SUV to backup my Mustand for the winter time. So I laid down the law and told her we could have 20-25k budget for anything domestic. So this is what the options are Saturn Vue- 2010 Equinox Jeep Cheroke. Normally these would would either be stripper models for the price range or…

These days, all the talk is about how Detroit is losing X amount of market share each year to imports. Well, I did a little thinking about it tonight and have written up this nice little example to show it in a different light of thinking: For simplicity's sake, I'll only deal with 4 companies and small numbers In 1900, there are two companies, GM and Ford. Each company sells 1 car in that year, meaning that they each hold 50% market share. Then in 1950, a newcomer, Mercedes, comes to the US market. While GM and Ford have each sold 10 cars, Mercedes sells 2 cars that year. Calculating that out with 22 cars total for that year, GM's market share is 45%, …

Hey guys, So I've decided that the northeast, and especially the NYC area, is just getting too pricey for my tastes. I've been feeling that way for a while but couldn't really think of where I might consider relocating to since everyone I know lives in this area and I’m not keen on the idea of moving somewhere on my own just for a change of pace. My family situation has finally given me another direction to consider. My parents and my brother and his family (wife and 3 kids) are relocating to Charlottesville VA. They have lived together for the last seven years to their mutual advantage since my dad has MS and he and my mom need help around the house while my brothe…

to my Cobalt. For those of you that don't know (probably most of you), I was in a pretty bad accident with it in mid-July. To make a very long story really short, my left side and front bumper took most of the damage. My door and fender got shredded and the side airbag deployed. Everyone involved was unharmed. After some minor quibbling with GEICO, I got it repaired with all GM parts, and the total for the damage came to almost $6700. The car looks, feels, and drives just like it did before the accident, but *I* feel differently when I drive it, even after a month and a half of having it back. I'm sure some of you think it's weird to get even the least bit emotional over…

Hi all, I had thorghly enjoyed my ownership experience with my Malibu SS over the last year. Then my brother Got a Mustang and my folks got an Aura and I feel like I have the bland car of the family. The aura destorys the malibu in every way, sick powertrain blows away the 3900 4 speed combo, better styling and features for the price. My brothers Mutang has a deffinet cool factor and the RWD is great though the 4.0 V6 in it is pretty crappy and it has a solid axel and is a ford. So I was thinking what I would do to replace the malibu if I did take the plunge and this is the scheme I came up with IF I decided to get a new car. I decided the only way to …

So at some point I want to/need to find a replacement for the Shadow. It's old and has a lotta miles. I don't plan to junk it but I do plan to just garage it...maybe have a project car in the future (convert to a turbo w/ 5-speed). Just speculation for now. My girlfriend and I have just been looking around online at what cars we can agree on for a replacement and that we'd both like. So for now anyway, it's been narrowed down to the following: 1990-96 Nissan 300ZX Turbo or non with a 5-speed manual.

I am looking at getting myself some cheap wheels for spring/summer. Maximum price of $3000 CAD I would really like an Achieva (1994 or 1995 is my preference). I found an ad on Saturday for a 1994 Achieva S sedan with 160,000 Kilometers for $2200. Called, and a lady told me she had bought a Corolla, and wants to get rid of the Olds pronto. I asked over the phone if its a V6 or 4, but she said she didnt know, she would have to look in the manual (haha women driver). I came to look at it on Sunday, and was mildly dissapointed. It is a rock bottom base model. It has the 2.3 OHV I4, 3 speed auto, 14inch wheelcovers, and crank windows. The best part was, it is …

Well I've come to the conclusion that I may need to sell my Riviera. The car is having one problem after naother due to the fact I cannot afford to fix it right now. last night my service engine light came on, and when I hooked up my scanner it pulled 6 codes. the main one is a missfire on cylinder 6. I recently had a miss and had a coil pack and spark plug replaced about a month and a half ago. Now another coil pack seems to have gone. I also need brakes relaly bad and tires. The reason I cannot have the work done is because I've been out of work for 3 months now, and can't contiue to dump my limited funds into it any longer. It is a 1995 Riviera with 91,xxx mile…

With all the talk about the big cars, rwd, and other stuff-I thought it was time for a bit of a change. As much as I would like a G8 or Camaro and I do love RWD (old school and now)-it is unlikely that I will going to be able to afford one for a while... What is more likely is that I'll be driving a compact...a car that offers good gas milage, and a car that I can afford. And I would love to have one of the cars on my wish list.... I could see an Astra or Vibe in the future...... And am I the only one thinking small? Ocn is shopping between an Astra or a HHR ( SS, LT) Loves his truck-but would like to save some money too..... Its that time of year again. Winter is only a few months away and with it will come snow, ice, and worst of all, salt. With all the work that' been done t the Intrepid I really want it to sit the winter out again this year. However I also want to keep the Prizm out of the stuff as much as possible, because I don't want it to rust away. I'm just casually looking around for now, nothing serious. It's always fun to look. If I do get something 'm planning to do it around November. I'm looking for dirt cheap really. Something I won't feel bad about. Assuming that you can start from scratch, how would you formulate a platform for a third party? Just to get started: - repeal the Patriot act - eliminate income tax - legalize recreational drug use - have the next session of congress spend its time repealing laws instead of writing new ones - base the party on the real world expansion of personal freedom in everyday life. ( to reduce the ever-increasing big brotherism of the present). - the party would be entirely " faith blind" with religion not getting a place at the table. A truly secular philosophy of government.

Well, as most of you know, I'm part of Kettering University and, in order to stay a student, one must complete about 6 months of co-op with a company each year in addition to the same amount of schooling at the university. Well, today was a co-op fair and I was starting to lose hope on finding a job since this was my third co-op fair and I've been to about three interviews. Well, as I was leaving my dorm to head down to "the fair," I turned around realizing I had forgotten my belt. As I went to reach for my belt, I felt my phone vibrate and didn't recognize the number. I answered it anyway and it was my co-op manager telling me that a company that I had interviewed for w…

We have the town of Dubois (pronounced Do-Boys, which makes this whole occurance alot funnier) 10 miles ahead, Paradise 2 miles to the left, Desire 5 miles to the left, Panic 7 miles to the left, and Stump Creek a mile to the right. If the names weren't wacky enough... if you take 10, divide it by 2, add 5, times that by 7, and subract 1... You get 69!!!!! Hahahaha!!!!!! :rotflmao:

Here's the deal: My employers/landlords have a 2000 Volvo V40 wagon. About a week ago, I found a broken hunk of a front spring under the car and told them to have their mechanic check it out since I consider it a safety issue. I dropped the car off and had a chat about it with the mechanic. I agreed with him that the proper way to deal with it was to replace the front springs and struts (original and at about 90k miles). No big deal, I thought - standard wear stuff. Wrong. I should have known something was up when I asked the mechanic for a ballpark on the pricing and he came back with a number twice what I expected: $1,500. The first issue is that everything is a s…

Clicky Me! Since my computer doesn't have the right programming, speed, or user to post pictures and other interesting things, this is the myspace page I have. For anyone interested (don't ask) regarding what I look like and some of what kind of person I am, feel free to visit. All things going as planned, I delete it when I turn 30. I know, that's a whole decade, but I'll be a "kid" for it. So, knock yourselves out.

A coworker of mine has been talking for some time about trading his loaded Alero on a Cobalt SS/SC. He'd build up, then deflate... so I wasn't sure if he'd ever do it. Well, he did it, and I am officially jealous. He's about 54, compact, with s&p hair, and single (he's straight.) He says he's not quite ready to say he's having a midlife crisis... I say to hell with that... enjoy yourself! It's silver/black with sunroof.

Or try to run your lawn mower using seawater. It's the only explanation I can come up with for what you're about to see. For reference, this is what a Tecumseh what a typical carburetor looks like: This is a carburetor I worked on last week. The gas in it was sold old it had evaporated and left corrosive, nasty varnish. This was the worst carburetor I've worked on. And then this came along. All I could say was: The customer had bought it last year from me. At the time the carburetor was in the the condition of the firs image. Perfectly fine. He told me at some point last year he had to hold the governor to get it to start and then it eventually woul…

Well, I didn't go up in a balloon, but I helped with one. I'm now the Ground Crew Chief for a small hot air ballooning outfit here in the Tampa area. My first day was today and since I'm better than some of the previous crewmen (one had a suspended license for DWI and a cocaine charge, another cursed alot around the passengers) and the current Crew Chief is going away next weekend for a vacation, I'm the main man now - at least for next weekend. I'll be second-in-command under the pilot/owner during unloading and loading and drive the chase Express van during the flight. Its really much simpler than it seems. Three stout men can do all the work with help from the van. Bas…

Well, first of all. Happy Thanksgiving to all. I have much to be thankful for on this day. Last night we had a close call with my grandmother. There are a lot of details that I would rather not get into here, but luckily she is still with us. For that reason, I have everything to be thankful for this day. This may seem trivial considering it all, but last night on the way back from the hospital in Grand Forks, I had the pleasure of meeting up with a little bit of nature. A (4x5 buck) and my Suburban had a little run in. Instinctively I applied the brakes when I saw him coming out of the ditch, had I not, I might have whizzed right by him. Anyway, I can't do much …

You know how older (and maybe newer, but can't recall seeing any) office chairs go up and down by spinning them like a nut on a bolt? Yeah, mine is like that, and I got a reminder why I don't like the design, at least when the "nit" (being the base of the chair" is threaded in plastic. Turn around last night at my desk, and there was a crack, followed by shaft (along with the rest of the chair and me on it)braking through the base and hitting the floor.

I put this particular animation together for another forum to because there was some debate about the possibility that the individual images were presented out of sequence. I figured that as my animation is being passed from forum to forum, I might as well let you guys see it. This happened very recently at a "Cruise" event at the local circuit race track. It was a "low speed" cruise event, so helmets weren't required, and the poorly installed 4 point seatbelts proved useless in a rollover. Fortunately there were no serious injuries. The passenger (on the left side ... the car is RHD) received grazes and needed stitches for a gash in her head from hitting the ro…

<iframe width="420" height="315" src=" http://www.youtube.com/embed/k9hEJHhw9hA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The stupidity displayed in the video above leaves me with my palm on my face, snickering and almost speechless. Yes, that horrific clank of metal tearing through metal at the end of the video was a driveshaft jack-knifing it's way through the floorpan of a V6 2011 Mustang, effectively disemboweling the car. Yes, the driver was obviously exceeding the limits of his car and stupidly modified it to do so. Yes, the driver thinks that, just because his V6 Mustang packs three-hundred-and-some-odd horsepower, he drives an Autobahn-smashing s…

Two Jeep Cherokees, one a '98 and the other a '94. Both supposedly run. Both supposedly have good titles. Both have an asking price of $850. I'm curious about the '98, that's what I'm hoping may be a diamond in the rough. I don't know what I would do with an extra Jeep sitting around, but whatever. I think I can deal with it. We'll see. I have the weekend to wait.

For some reason photos of this thing are hard to come by, but it seems to be referred to as the Ultimate Aztek. Amazing how they can transform a slow, disgusting monstrosity into something that looks really damn good and of course packs 665hp!
