I'll start with a recent RARE spot I made here in Pittsburgh that has gotten super popular on CheersandGears's Facebook Page. I spotted this super rare Saab 9-4x running around Pittsburgh the other day. Built off the same Theta-Premium platform as the 2nd Generation Cadillac SRX, this one seems to be used as a daily driver. I'd like to think I speak "standard broadcast English" (no accent, clean pronunciation) so certain expressions bug me: Low end: Irregardless - actually, it's now an accepted word, though it shouldn't be Mid-range: He or she (singular) is "good people" - that is asinine Drum roll: Across pronounced "acrost." I have a massive collection of sales brochures that I am gearing up to sell on Ebay very soon. The collection ends around 2004-ish and goes back into the 1930s for some brands. Hey guys! I kind of accidently came across this while just looking for something to fit our needs. I certainly don't need something quite this large, but it does seem pretty awesome. So anyway, I came across a 2017 Lincoln Navigator Reserve priced at 18,7XX. It does have a lot of miles, but all full-size SUVs(regardless of brand) seem to last forever as long as you don't neglect them. It has 128k on the odometer already. So we're all moved into the new server, but part of the process didn't fully work and I need your help to track some things down. The URLs for a number of pictures didn't update to their new locations. Your job, when you spot one of these, is to use the Report Post/Article/Gallery button so I can fix it. I saw a lot of cars this month, as I was in Eastern Canada and their cars are about the same, but some are a little different. October 4 - Saguenay fjord (port) / Chicoutimi, QC Another ~20-year-old Olds Alero with some rust still delivering the goods and parked at the port of this now more publicized destination in Quebec; I was walking around the port and saw this Pontiac Wave parked on a hill on someone's lawn. I wonder if it still ran. They didn't bring the Wave to the U.S., but possibly featured it here as the Pontiac G3. Either way, Canada sure took to Pontiac.

You can now install Cheers & Gears as an app on your phone and tablet. It's not in the app store; it's called a Progressive Web App, or PWA for short. I closed on my new house today. All went pretty smoothly. Only 20 miles from my current house, but bigger, one story, much more storage and garage space, almost 2 acres. Belated Happy May Day Everyone. An interesting observation as I did a lunch workout at my 24hr club and then stopped at Costco to do the wives ToDo list. When I came back out, I saw 4 VWQ ID4 and 2 ID5 EVs, then a Tesla S and X as well as a Y and I have to say seeing all 3 side by side the 3 is very cheap and looks even more dated than the S and X, but all three look very dated compared to the VW ID's. The last 4 weeks have been a rough patch for my sister and I... Our 17 yr old Yorkie Henry passed on March 7th (she drove back early from SC as I knew Henry was going down fast), and our 15 yr old Yorkie Ginger passed on April 4th after a heart attack at 3:30 am (she died as we were rushing her to the emergency vet). Both had been declining for a long time and were on heart medications for enlarged hearts. First time in almost 15 years without a Yorkie at home. Kicking this off mid month since I did not see anyone else start a February thread. Saw a rather dirty but new GMC Hummer EV Truck. Was really surprised how tall and big it is. Thought it was the same length as my 2006 Escalade ESV which is 221 inches long and the GMC Hummer EV Truck is 217 inches long, so only a 4 inch difference between the autos. Very cool looking and I love the stance.

I couldn't take a photo. I could see its grille from my driver's side outside mirror and it was moving briskly forward in the fast lane on a rainy freeway. It was circa a 1987 Mercury Cougar. Those were weird looking cars. Ok, the front is fairly tame But, then, it all turns into a $h!tshow! Maybe some kudos are in order for the bold move. You could get a V8, but entry-level power came from FoMoCo's version of the 3.8 liter V6. (The corresponding Ford T-bird of those same years was even more dowdy.) Saw a couple sharp older trucks in parking lots yesterday afternoon. A very clean ‘92-96 Ford F150 XLT regular cab long bed in an unusual two tone—like an apricot/orange with tan insert down the side. Looked like original paint. My 2007 Silverado Classic Crew Cab was rear ended by a speeding Ford Exploder while stopped at a red light. It bent the frame at least where the tow hitch attaches and pushed the bed into the cab. The drivers side rear door doesn't close all the way anymore. The rear window broke but since I recently had my windows tinted it stayed in one piece. I don't know yet if it will be totaled yet. It will never be the same so I would rather have a new truck. My back and neck are sore but I came out ok so far. It hurt most when I see my truck. I shrunk a picture down a bit to show the damage.

This has been a larger and older GM sort of weekend. Yesterday, I saw a powder blue Olds Toronado with a white top. That meant it was a '75. It was spotless. I couldn't take a photo. Saw two things this morning while running errands. First was a very old Chevrolet Suburban from the 1950's era in the process of being restored. It was on a trailer being towed someplace while I was driving on I5. Second thing was a Toyota Tacoma that had an interesting bumper sticker. Pro-America Buy America Anti-Trump So not a political statement or discussion I want to start, but I am interested in what others think is meant by the Pro-America/Buy America part of this. Just a place to swap stories about our vaccine experiences. I got the Moderna shot on Jan 11th. Other than a sore arm for a few days (same thing I get with a flu shot) I had no side effects. I got my second shot on Feb 11th at 6pm. The next morning I woke up feeling feverish with body aches and chills. I took Advil and drank Gatorade and felt blah all day. We'll we have the start of the labor day weekend and I just realized nothing has been posted about auto's people have seen. Today I had some good views, we will start off with a car I loved, but did not fit in very well. Cadillac Station Wagon, especially loved them in V edition. Start off with seeing an old GMC pickup that some members will love, forgot as I do not think I have seen the GMC person post in a while who loved all things GMC. It all started after I got back to work after going home for Christmas, my family lives in Detroit and I am a Coast Guard flight engineer in Kodiak Alaska. Well some one on one of my 6 (not joking) connecting flights gave me a cold. Starting this off with my run I just made to Home Depot to get a few parts for my automatic water sprinkling system I am putting in. A brand-new, Paper window license plate only, Mercedes Blu Tec SUV parked next to my Escalade. WOW talk about Noisy with Clackity Clackity Clack and a weird diesel exhaust smell. Hi folks, long time. I had a crash with my Sunfire a couple weeks ago. it still drives, but the passenger door and front fender got effed up. My dad has taken it back and I'm borrowing my sister's S-10 in the interim. So I've been shopping for my first new car. I've narrowed it down to either a Sonic hatch or a Cruze. Probably a 2 year, 17k mi/yr lease. Hopefully I'll have an Elio by the end of that. So what are your thoughts about the two choices? They both seem like good cars, and it's hard to say I have a preference between them. I'd like to keep overall cost to a minimum, including payments, gas, and insurance.

Saw a rat-rod style (faded blue paint w/ patina and rust, lowered, big red steel wheels) '62 Ford full size station wagon today...the lack of woodgrain told me it wasn't a Country Squire, probably a lower trim level like a Country Sedan or Ranch Wagon. Not much seen yet this month, but this pic popped up in my FB timeline--my Jeep in my carport in Phoenix, as I was packing up 5 years ago today. Now getting some warm sunny weather. 3-4 days a week I'm down at my mud farm working to clean up, clean out, and get my stuff out of the muck in preparation to unload it all. I got bad news last night (phone calls after 9pm are never good) that my older brother had died at age 72. We had been estranged for years, esp. after our mother's death almost 6 years ago. He had a lot of issues in life, but I have to try and look at the positives--he got me into model cars 40+ years ago and got me into '60s rock music, Mustangs and '60s muscle cars. He could be a really unpleasant and difficult individual, but was still family. I'm sure he left no will, so now comes the messy aspects of cleaning up and clearing out the family farm (which I own 1/3 of), selling his car and motorcycle collection, cleaning up the property and selling it...

We have a lot of distractions this time of year, but we are still seeing cars. Seen anything interesting on the road? Tonight I saw a last-gen LaCrosse in black coming up beside me on the freeway. Black is not my color for a car, but, on this LaCrosse, it really amped up the grille, the chrome moulding around the windows and on the handles, and mostly the rear taillamp assembly with the boomerang shaped lamps, which looks sharp to begin with.

I definitely stole this from Autoblog but I thought it was a great little topic. I know it GREATLY varies based on the vehicle itself because a 5500lb SUV/Truck will need more power than a sub 3000lb car. With that said.. For the "average" 3000-4000lb vehicle I think I would want minimum 200-250hp as a daily. Something that can achieve nothing less than a 15.5 second quarter mile. I know that involves more than just hp but as it's been stated hp isn't everything. So here's another "checking in" post after 3 and a half years away. I find it difficult to stay interested enough to keep up with social media these days so excuse the absence. I'll try to keep this one short and sweet. I can't quite remember, but I believe my last update came when I was still in Michigan. Lat night on the way home from running an errand, saw my first blue VW ID4 EV in the wild. Have to say they look better in person than photos and I like the lighting on the outside, the turn lights are an outline of the headlight, very easy to see, very quiet and looked good. Kicking this off as I saw a brand new Cadillac Escalade sport edition all Matte Black. I suspect a custom paint job as I do not see Matte paint on the option list of the web site. New purchase from my local Cadillac dealership I go too. Plenty of blah appliance auto's today, but one consistent observation, so much body damage on 1 and 2 year old auto's from corners of the bumpers crushed in to side swipes. Very weird especially as I saw a number of subcompacts from Honda Fit to Mini with this kind of damage today as I ran to Costco.
