The Gatorade Duel 150's the races that determine starting positions 3-43 for the Daytona 500 today were won by two Chevy drivers. Tony Stewart visited victory lane for the second time during speedweeks winning the first 150 mile heat race. Jeff Gordon won the second 150 miler on a last lap pass of Kurt Busch. However Gordon's car failed post race inspection when NASCAR officials said the car was about an inch too low, instead of starting Sunday's race from the 4th position he will line up 42nd. Michael Waltrip was allowed to run the qualifying race and he will be in the Daytona 500. Team Toyota Red Bull with drivers Brian Vickers and A.J. Allmindinger did not make the Day…

I think about this every now and then. As for the 3800 V6 engine by Buick, once it went transversely mounted, received roller hydraulic lifters and fuel was delivered via port injection, it became one of the best engines ever. I'm closing in on 270,000 miles on the old car and still love the car and this engine. However, I also think back to a 1970 Pontiac LeMans coupe my Dad owned. He never thought much of Pontiac, until he bought this car. He loved "la Pohn-tee-ak"...and so did our Australian Shepherd. It had the 250 inline 6 with a 1-barrel car and NO air conditioning, so the engine compartment was a mechanic's dream, with every plug easily accessible and lots of …

Slow right now at my work and slow on the forum so I figured I start something fun similar to what we did last year. Rules: 1. You have to pick TWO car manufacturers: ONE is your favorite, the one you will most likely buy a vehicle from and the SECOND is your least favorite, one that you are least likely to buy from. 2. Pick TWO vehicles from EACH car manufacturer: daily driver and fun/weekend/utility car or truck. Please be honest in your choices to make it harder and more fun.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc. (NYSE:DAL - news) and Northwest Airlines Corp.(Nasdaq:NWAC - news) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday, according to court documents. Delta, the No. 3 U.S. airline, which earlier this year said it did not have enough cash to meet its liquidity needs in 2005, filed for protection in U.S. bankruptcy court in the Southern District of New York. I got this in an email from one of my brothers. Read on, I thought it was pretty funny... There were two nuns.. One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM), and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL) . It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent. SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants. SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us. SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do? SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster. SM: It's not working. SL: Of course it's not working. The man did…

I look at my web home page and there's a link to "campus shooting." Unbelievable: it's at the University of Washington in Seattle More unbelievable: in the Architecture Building They weren't students, per se, but it was a murder-suicide between a research associate and a man who was obviously obsessed with her. One of thinks of smug, morose, safe Nordic Seattle and this is hard to believe. On the South End, maybe. But on the UW campus? I rarely visit the place as I want to forget the school experience there. However, if I ever do, it will be creepy.

All right guys, I think its time that I get it out. I've wanted a motorcycle since I was about 14, but haven't every been able to procure one. Well, with me and the family moving about 50 miles from my current job site, and the price of gas climbing has finally brought my wife around. She's agreed to let me buy a bike. I've talked to a couple of people who own bikes and they all love theirs, which means I'll probably enjoy the hell out of mine since our personalities are all alike. But here's what I was thinking about buying. something between 1987 and 2007, 650cc-1100, cruiser-type bike, brand isn't preferential (sp?), and most importantly looking to spend no more …

I like motorcycles alot but don't follow the new developments that closely...just a cursory glance now and then. But, recently I stumbled upon a newer American bike company that just blows me away. This bike is so wickedly stunning in a brutal elemental way. To me it's very American in appeal. If I recall correctly they are over $60,000 each. It's a regular production bike. I want one so bad now. Now if Buick brought back the Wildcat....hmmmm, I like this combo. The Confederate Hellcat:

Guess what? I am NEW to these. Typically, I've had rental cars while on vacation or, if in foreign urban centers, I've just used their metro systems to get around. I need to get to the airport. Early. If not an early flighty, I just take a bus from a suburban mall to a train station for the subway into the airport and go on the cheap. Can't beat that. Plus, I love riding subway type trains. There is no early bus or train service for those first flights out. So I plan to take Uber or Lyft. Questions: 1. Have you had success with early pick ups in the burbs to go to the airport with Uber or Lyft? 2. Do you prefer Uber or Lyft? Pros and con…

Well, the wife called about 45 minutes ago to let me know that the AURA was struck by ice flying off a tractor-trailer on her way into work this morning on I-295 North. She wasn't able to swerve into a different lane, but was able to brake without being rear-ended. The damage? The front bumper is heavily damaged, as it took the brunt of the force. She drove over the ice, so I'm hoping nothing underneath is damaged. She didn't stop and check the car out, rather she drove the rest of the way to work, said nothing seemed wrong with the car. When she got out though she noticed the damge to the bumper. I'm glad she's okay and that the ice didn't hit the hood/windshield,…

Yeah.... This week totally blows, partly because last week we had two snow days that messed up the scheduling somewhat. Last Thursday I had a Calc 2 exam (average was 45; I thought I did good when I left and I end up with a 48?!?), then my crazy ass professor gives us a quiz today, and homework due Thursday that I've been working on for 2 hours and still am not done (and that we didn't learn until yesterday). Oh, and that's just Calc. Physics? Here's the scene: It is 59 degrees outside and I decide to take Arkus with me to the local Wawa. I head down RT 252 toward my destination behind a host of fools that think pacing the car next to you constitiutes safe driving. After a frustrating, if mercifully short, drive I arrive at my destination. I always park right in front of the building so that Arkus can see me while I'm inside, which I proceed to do. I raise the passenger window to a crack of just over an inch so that Arkus can't push the window out of its track (again), and crack my window about half of an inch. So I go inside and order my breakfast sandwiches and prepare my coffee. when the sandwiches are…

Work has been bad lately. We were bought out and we're in the process of merging the two networks. Strangely, even though this was a straight up purchase and advertised as such, it's really turning into a merger of equals. Most of my old company's stuff is being retained as it's more efficient and more advanced than the stuff our new mothership has. Most of the workforce is being retained as well. During all of this, I'm doing some fairly big renovations on one of my apartment buildings. Chest pains from stress are now a common occurrence. Yesterday, I was sent a link to failblog.com and I was laughing so hard for so long that my co-workers were getting worried. I felt co…

I get in and start it up, then slowly back it out. I hear dragging and she points out the exhaust is on the ground...oh goodie. Notice anything? I've decided to stick a bumper sticker on my Milly. It's unique in that I made it myself. Course, it's an actual bumper sticker, I just had no way of purchasing one like it. So I went into one of my photo editing programs, changed it from black to as close to my Milly's color as I could. Then I printed it out, water proofed it with clear tape, bought some double sided tape, and stuck it my bumper. It's a bit outdated, but atleast it'll get the message across without being obvious like a rainbow sticker or such. I just had to do something to combat the BS I've seen, heard of, and had to deal with in this town.

I have another challenging Dream car garage to post or two...but for today the easiest one yet. Only limitation for all ten is that you must be able to walk into your state/province DMV and register it legally. First 3-New 2017 cars you would buy, less than 50 grand... @A Horse With No Name gave me a challenge. Here it is! For July 4 Celebrations!!! Rules: 1. Pick a brand. Just 1 brand. A pure red blooded AMERICAN brand. Be it Ford or Chevrolet. Or Dodge. 10 cars any era, any concepts, anything from that brand. 2. No corporate sister brands are allowed. 3. These are your garage queen, museum grade show cars and/or Sunday drivers and/or daily drivers. 4. Have fun!

Frisky's posts gave me an idea to do one related to something I want to do one day: cross country trip. So the rules are as follows: 1. You have to choose TWO cars: one NEW and one USED. 2. Cars have to be STOCK. 3. Budget for EACH of the cars is: New car: $40k. Used car: $20k. 4. Cars have to be comfortable and reliable enough to cross the United States from coast to coast at least twice (East to West and West to East). Have fun.

So with Trump's immigration ban being the headline everywhere you look, I thought this would make for a good 'UDG' thread. There will be 2 lists as part of this one- List 1 Rules: 1)These are your only vehicles. 2)Must be production models. 3)Any era is allowed. 4)Your choices must be built by a foreign auto manufacturer AND NOT OFFERED FOR SALE IN THE US. List 2 Rules: Same as above, but the vehicles can be sold in the US. Still must be foreign-made, though.

So, given how much fun we seem to have had with the other ultimate dream garage threads, I am going to start another one. Your Crazy uncle is offering to give you a Cadillac ATS brand new free and clear, but it must be the only performance car that you own. This will be a three part question. Part #1, Spec out your ATS and tell us about it! Part #two, you must pick 2 (only two) GM cars built between and including 1975 to 2004. The rub is, no performance vehicles allowed. Corvette is off the table, even if ti is the 305 cubic inch California emissions model. V8 Camaros and Firebirds are off the list with one exception. Fiero is excluded, as is say a Turbo…

Rules on this are simple- 1) Maximum of 5 choices 2) Any era and market is allowed 3) These vehicle are solely for driving enjoyment; no need to pick DD's, family haulers, etc 4) You can only choose ONE new vehicle, rest must be used 5) Price MUST be under $100,000 PER VEHICLE. No exceptions- no 105K, nothing contingent upon a discount, etc. Must be able to prove your choice. 6) You can choose ONE vehicle that is not street-legal. Can be a racecar, rock crawler, etc. 7) If your choice is well under the 100K mark, feel free to list any modifications you would…

Time for a new one!! Admittedly, selection is somewhat limited in this parameter, so have fun trying to assemble a group with enough diversity for you. Rules- 1) Production vehicles only. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Must be 10 cylinder. 5) You can pick 5 vehicles. After you do a Top 5, you can round out a Top 10, as with previous lists. Have fun!

Alright, we have reached the pinnacle of engines in terms of how many cylinders are stuffed in a block in widely produced cars. Although this has primarily been the stomping grounds of European brands in late years, there WERE other brands than made V12's. Cadillac, Lincoln, and Toyota among them. The rules are the usual and as follows- 1) Production cars only 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Cars must have 12 cylinders, obviously. NO HYBRIDS!! 5) You have 5 choices. After creating a top 5 list, you may expand it to 10. Enjoy.

Alright, we're moving on. For us guys who really like the smaller stuff and cars with that 'point and squirt' vibe, this one may cause some headaches. There is an absolute plethora of fantastic cars in this range that will surely make it difficult to narrow down a list. In terms of sheer driver's cars, this may very well be the most stacked bracket we will be working with. Have fun! Rules- 1) Max of 5 choices. 2) Must be production units. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Any era and market is allowed. 5) Cars MUST have AT LEAST 200 HP, but NO MORE THAN 299 HP. As rated by the MFR.

I'll cut to the chase here, and go straight to the rules- 1) Maximum of 5 choices. 2) Production cars only. 3) MUST be 2017 model year. (doesn't have to be on sale yet) 4) Cars from any market are allowed. 5) These are your only vehicles. 6) Cars/trucks/SUV's only; no bikes, trikes, RV's, etc. Enjoy.

So, with this past weekend being the true greatest spectacle in motorsports- the 24hrs of LeMans- I thought it could make for a good UDG thread. Rules- 1) Maximum of 5 cars. 2) Cars can be from any era/year. 3) Cars MUST be OVERALL winners to be eligible. 4) Your selection MUST also be the ACTUAL RACE WINNING CAR. Not a different car of the same make/mfr because you like that team/livery/etc better. In other words, down to the exact number and driver combo. * I will do a separate thread for non-race winning cars, so don't get hung up over that one.

As we get to the range where the first digit becomes a '3', we start to see a lot more diversity. In this bracket we have everything from mid-engine rockets, to benchmark sport sedans to AWD rally fighters, to entry level muscle and pony cars. Something for everyone! Rules- 1) Production models only. 2) Maximum of 5 choices. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Any era and market is allowed. 5) MFR's power rating MUST be AT least 300hp, but NO MORE THAN 399hp. Have fun!

Okay, you guys knew it was eventually coming. We did a HP installment (of which there is still more coming, so stay tuned), one based on displacement, and several other various ones along the way, so it's only natural we do one based on cylinder count. So with that, we will do the first one- the humble 4 cylinder. Disdained and mocked by many, 4 cylinder engines indisputably power some of the greatest cars ever built. From historic cars of unspeakable significance; to sport compact cars that punch above their weight class; to nimble off-roaders; to backroad, gravel trail, and road course slaying terrors; everyone should be able to find something they like her…

Okay, guys, here is one that is going to have a tremendous amount of options, and it will be difficult to pare down the choices. I look forward to everyone's lists. Rules- 1- Choices must be NO MORE than 4.0 liters of displacement. 2- Choices MUST BE FORCED INDUCTION. That means, turbocharged, supercharged, or some combination of those two. 3- Any number of cylinders, engine layout, and placement is allowed. 4- Only pure GAS or DIESEL. NO HYBRIDS. 5- Production cars only. 6- Any era and market is allowed. 7- These are your only vehicles. 8- You 5 choices. As usual, once you do a Top 5, you can expand to 10. …

Okay, after that great run of special DG threads from other posters- thanks btw!!- I'm revisiting the series I started based around cylinder count. Some of the greatest sports coupes ever built were powered by 6 cylinder engines of some sort, so I expect great things here!! Rules- 1) Obviously- IT MUST HAVE A 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. NO HYBRIDS. 2) Maximum of 5 choices. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Production vehicles only. 5) Any era and market is allowed. 6) This is a new one- IF YOU WISH TO DO A SEPARATE POST WITH 5 MORE CARS TO ROUND OUT A TOP 10, YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO SO, SO LONG AS THE FIRST IS YOUR TOP 5. I know some here really …

I just realized that I never made this far in the Displacement' installments of 'UDG'. I know we have a bunch of muscle car lovers here, so you guys should be all over this one!! Rules- 1) These are your only vehicles. 2) Production models only. 3) Any era and market is allowed. 4) Only 5 choices. 5) Choices must have a MINIMUM of 7.0 liters of displacement.

Moving on, we have arrived at the one I suspect most people will enjoy the most. That's right, ocho cilindros. Rules- 1) Production cars only. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These are your only cars. 4) Must be 8 cylinders. NO HYBRIDS!! 5) As before, after you do a Top 5 List, if you want to do a follow-on, that would be great.

Well, I didn't want to do this on 9/11 with it being such an important date and all, but seeing as in how it is September, I planned on doing a 911 thread. There may not be many replies on this one, but I know there's a few out there who have an appreciation for the brand. As for me, well, many of you probably know the 911 is my all-around favorite car model, so this one will be both fun an torturous. The rules- 1) Factory 911's from Porsche only, no RUF's, 9ff's, Singers, etc. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These obviously are not your only cars. 4) Maximum of 9 choices. Have fun.

I wanted to get this up yesterday, in honor of 9/11, but I was having internet issues at my house. I know these usually adhere to a very strict set of rules, but I'm going to play a little looser with this round. I'm giving you 10(!) choices, so build your list with the most freedom-ringing, pavement-pulverizing, bad-attitude machines you can! Rules- 1) Maximum of 10 cars. 2) These are your ONLY vehicles. 3) Only Domestic-branded cars sold in YOUR market. 4) Any era is allowed. 5) You can choose a maximum of 2 special cars- concepts, one-off builds, etc. Have fun and Happy 'Murica!!

So the average new car price currently sits at $33,781. Which is a decent amount. There's some pretty solid deals out there for that kinda money. I'm going to round that number up slightly to $35,000, and use it as the base line for this Dream Garage thread. Rules- 1) You have a total of $175,000. 2) You must have at least 2, but no more than 5 automobiles. 3) You can spend as much or as little on any one vehicle as you want. 4) These are your only vehicles. 5) Choices must be brand new and on sale now. 6) You CAN use actual sale prices, rather than MSRP, SO LONG AS THEY ARE REALISTIC. Far too often these are hard only for narrowing down all the amazing choices on offer. Not this one. Oh, no. Today friends, you are going to be limited only base models. And I mean base. Bottom of the barrel. No options, no exceptions. Rules- 1- These are your only vehicles. 2- You are allowed a maximum of 5 choices. 3- Production vehicles only. 4- Car can come from any market. 5- You are allowed to pick ONE vehicle that isn't NEW. Leaving the full list open to older cars will cause too much confusion and likelihood of rule-bending. 6- You can also choose to MODIFY ONE of your choices. 7- You may only choose TWO high-end spor…

Two new 'UDG' threads today!! With C&D getting up their newest '10 Best' list, I had an idea. The list is really diverse enough that one could assemble a nice little garage with the choices. So with that in mind, let's do so!! Rules- 1) You have the usual 5 choices. 2) Choices are limited to cars that were included in the 10 Best list. So no Mustang GT, Corvette Z06, etc. However, it can be any iteration of the Camaro, 3, Accord, etc. 3) These are your only vehicles. I know, no trucks/SUV's here, but I have to keep everyone from picking only outright sports cars. That's it! Enjoy! LINK- C&D 10 Best …

Okay, got a new one of these that will hopefully see more players than the LeMans one. The concept is simple. You will choose NEW vehicles to serve as the basis for a very heavy build. We usually pick vehicles we think are pretty much spot-on in stock form, but this one gives you the opportunity to maybe pick something that you feel is missing from the OEM. Rules- 1) Vehicles must be brand new 2017 or 2018 MY, with all specs, photos, and details released. So no '18 Wranglers. 2) Maximum of 5 vehicles. 3) Any market is allowed. 4) All of your choices must be heavily modified. I shouldn't have to tell you what this means. Bolt-ons and wheels is not…

Okay, we've all had our fun with outright enthusiast cars and their fabulous ICE engines, but now it's time to be a little more ecologically conscious. Rules- 1) Production cars only. 2) These are your only vehicles. 3) Any era and market is allowed. 4) MUST BE HYBRIDS!! 5) Maximum of 5 choices. Though if you wish to expand to a Top 10 after picking 5, that is fine. Have fun!

First off, I'm loving all the other threads, and the participation!! With that said, this is the third and final DG thread I came up with based on the 4th of July. It's a day in celebration of independence. This installment is based on that, stand alone maker's independence from huge corporate umbrellas. The premise is simple you will only be allowed to choose from vehicles that came from manfacturers that were completely autonomous at the time. That means no Chevys post-GM. No Ferrari's or Chryslers after FCA. No Dodges after ChryCo merger. No post-Audi Lambos. No post-VW Porsches, etc, etc. Rules- 1) Maximum of 10 vehicles, as with o…

So, in celebration of that most American of holidays, I thought a Dream Garage thread was in order. And what other rule to base it on besides the V8? Rules on this one are sweet and simple- 1) American brands only. 2) V8 engines only. 3) Maximum of 10 choices. 4) I will allow one concept/one-off selection. 5) I will allow one non-street legal/racecar selection. 6) At least one truck/SUV option. 7) Any era is fair game. Have fun.

Yep, I'm going there. With all the recent pieces on the decline of the sedan segment- primarily the midsize one- I thought what better way to honor that classic, one-time quintessential staple of American families than by doing a Dream Garage thread. So here are the rules- 1) It must have been a car for sale in YOUR market. 2) Any era is allowed. 3) It must be a mainstream brand, midsize family sedan. No compacts, full-sizes, etc. Ignore EPA ratings. We will use model hierarchy and position in market place. 4) Maximum of 5 cars. 5) Try to make these cars fulfill as many roles as possible- sport, family hauling, etc. EDIT- I…

This Dream Garage thread is going to be similar to one I did recently where you have to pick from certain choices to fill certain criteria, or roles. But this time it will be based on nationality rather than price. You will have mostly the same roles in this one- * One off-road vehicle- Must be a truck or SUV. * One daily driver- Absolutely NO dedicated sports cars or sports coupes- so no Mustang, Camaro, Chally, etc. * One weekend/fun car- Anything sporty goes for this one, but must be street legal. * One track car- Anything intended mostly, or exclusively for track use here- Atoms, BAC Monos, etc. Does not have to be street legal. * One fam…

The sister thread to the earlier one. I'll get right down to business here. Rules- 1- Production cars only. 2- Any era and market is allowed. 3- These are your only vehicles. 4- Choices must be greater than 4.0 liters of displacement, meaning AT LEAST 4.1 5- Naturally aspirated engines only. 6- No Hybrids. 7- You have 5 choices, but can add 5 more after doing a Top 5.

In honor of Turkey Day, I thought I'd make a special 'UDG' thread. The premise here is simple, you will only be allowed to pick cars that are built overseas, and must make the trip to YOUR nation via water. Rules- 1)Production models only. 2)These are your only vehicles. 3)Maximum of 5 choices. 4)Nothing older than 20 MODEL YEARS OLD......a wildcard for fun. 5)Your picks must have been built OVERSEAS and transported across a body of water to reach you market.

Alright, NO excuse for lack of participation in this one. All of you classic and muscle car lovers, this one's for you. There is one caveat, however. I want to see true collector/investment grade cars here. Not run-of-the-mill stuff that you just happen to like. I'm talking cars with massive values- definitely way into 6-figure territory, preferably 7-figure- very rare numbers, etc. So, an example of something that doesn't count- a '69 Camaro SS. Something that does- '68 Charger Daytona. Rules- 1) These are collector cars- they do not have to be used regularly, tracked, etc. 2) Maximum of 5 choices. 3) Production cars only. 4) Any market is…

Good acts are hard to follow. Especially in the auto business. Maybe more so in the auto business, actually. The steady march of technology is sometimes nullified by more stringent regulations, falling profits, a change in focus, and sometimes just as a result of straight up flubbing it. So with that in mind, I ask you what your dream garage would look like if you were only able to use today's cars' immediate predecessors. The rules- 1) Production models only. 2) These are your only vehicles. 3) Maximum of 5 choices. 4) Any variation of that previous model is allowed, even if the exact trim was not offered again. 5) Your choice …

This is the 2nd of 3 July 4th themed UDG threads I had planned. Just wasn't able to get them all up before the 4th. Since we won our independence from the British, it seems fitting that we have a Dream Garage dedicated to our tyrant turned ally. In matching our American one, this one will allow 10 choices. Rules- 1) British makes ONLY. 2) Any era is allowed. 3) You are allowed ONE concept/one-off choice. 4) You are also allowed ONE racecar/non-street legal choice. 5) You MUST have at least ONE off-road/SUV choice. 6) Maximum of 10 vehicles. That's it, enjoy!!

Okay guys, I'd really like to see some more participation in these. The last one had almost no replies.I'm trying to motivate some extra action in here. This installment of UDG is going to feature a premise that I really have no idea how it hasn't dawned on me before. This edition will be strictly limited to special editions of different sorts. Whether it's an Anniversary Edition, Commemerative Edition, Collector's Edition, Final Edition, whatever. Only limited edition models allowed. Rules- 1)Maximum of 5 vehicles. 2)Production vehicles only. 3)Any era and market is allowed. 4)These are your only vehicles. 5)NO normal seri…

I'm starting a new 'UDG' series that will have consecutive installments. As you can tell, it will be based on that measure of energy we love so much- horsepowerz. BHP. Ponies. Whatever nickname you like to use, it's a metric that has been used pretty much since the inception of the automobile. This round we are focusing on the little guys. Though they may not have have cover-worth big power ratings, there are no shortage of cars that are great to drive that have below 200HP. In fact, there are some All-time Greats that fall into this category. Rules- 1) Maximum of 5 choices. 2) These are your only vehicles. 3) Production cars only. 4) Any er…

So I had a request to make these more difficult. So in an effort to do that, I'm creating one that will be different for everybody, but still be based off the same rules. It will span different amounts of time for different posters, so everyone will have different options available to them. Here's the rules- 1) You get to select ONE vehicle from 5 different points in your life. They are as follows... 2) You get one vehicle from your birth year. 3) You get one vehicle from the year when you turned 16. 4) You get one vehicle from the year when you turned 21. IF you are 30, OR older, you can choose one from the year you turned 25. 5) You get one vehi…

Okay, so this is going to be a somewhat smaller pool to draw from, but I thought this one would really make people explore and maybe uncover some previously unknown gems. I hope everyone enjoys it. Rules- 1) Production vehicles only. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These are your only cars. 4) Vehicles MUST be a cylinder count previously not featured, or some other form of ICE. Ie- 3 cyl, 5 cyl, 16, cyl, rotary, etc. 5) Maximum of 5 choices, but you can expand beyond your top 5 to 10 if you wish. 6) No hybrids. Fully gas engines.

Drew wanted this one, so I'm obliging him and I expect great things!! This one will use odd engine layouts, regardless of size, aspiration, cylinder count, power, etc. They just must be an odd layout. Rules- 1) These are your only vehicles. 2) Must have been semi-street legal and production. I say this because I know there were some pretty odd creations back in the 10s, 20s, 30s that really straddle this line. Use good judgement here. No racecars, pure concepts, etc. 3) Must have an unconventional layout- that means NOT a V, not an H, and not an I configuration. You can use a W, a Slant, a radial, rotary, whatever. 4) Any era and market is allowed…

As much as the actual military-oriented ones were, I planned on doing an auto one for the occasion. In honor of Veterans Day, it will be based upon Domestic nameplate vehicles. Rules- 1) Maximum of 5 choices. 2) These are your only vehicles. 3) Production cars sold in the US only. 4) Cars must be a model name or at least generation that is NO LONGER BUILT- this is the Veteran part, obviously. 5) As long as the vehicle is no longer on sale, any era is allowed. Happy Veterans Day, and enjoy!!

I was reminded yesterday of an idea I had a while ago, and thought I'd share. This does go in the far-fetched idea category, but I kinda like it, so here it is. A while back, I was thinking about what Cadillac in particular could do to differentiate itself in the luxury brands, and it occurred to me to start pondering... What is the greatest luxury? Leather? A nice audio system? Powerful engine? Navigation systems and other gadgets? Nah. SERVICE! Think about it - what is more the picture of luxury: a guy with a fridge by his hot tub, or a guy with someone who will go get him a drink or whatever he asks (maid, butler, etc). Service is the greatest …

Ok, maybe I'm just imagining things, but I remember people on here talking about a two door Blazer, like the GMT-400's of yore, and wishing there would be a GMT-900 version. Now didn't someone on this site do a sketch of what it should look like? Something along the lines of this? Because I happened to be browsing on Google for GMT-900, and this sketch came up, but on a different forum, and the poster is called "opiated" http://www.nfscars.net/forum/showthread.php?p=308698 Maybe it's someone off this site, but I'm not too sure. You might have to scroll up to see it.

Went to the gym today, and the hot shower water dried my hands up pretty bad. After that, I went to the grocery store. In the soap aisle, there was a rack with some kind of hand lotion I'd never heard of. They had all the different flavors sitting there in a row at shoulder height with "tester" written on the bottle, so I thought what the heck. I chose the unscented flavor, put my hand under the nozzle, and pushed down. Instead of squirting down into my hand, it shot straight out onto the center of my chest the size of a quarter and left a trail down to my navel. I looked like a friend had just done something very naughty to me. I immediately looked around to see…

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39516346/ns/us_news-life/?gt1=43001 Firefighters in rural Tennessee let a home burn to the ground last week because the homeowner hadn't paid a $75 fee. Gene Cranick of Obion County and his family lost all of their possessions in the Sept. 29 fire, along with three dogs and a cat. "They could have been saved if they had put water on it, but they didn't do it," Cranick told MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. The fire started when the Cranicks' grandson was burning trash near the family home. As it grew out of control, the Cranicks called 911, but the fire department from the nearby city of South Fulton would not respond. "We wasn't on their list," …
