Nothing was wrong with my 4 1/2 year old MDG (Canadian brand) desk top. It has a DVD burner that I added 2 years ago, 256 graphics card, operates at 1.7 ghz, has 768 mb RAM, operates on XP, but I was working on putting all my MPEG-4 movies from my trips to Brazil onto a DVD, interspersed with my digital pics , maybe even a soundtrack, but this proved to be impossible with the old system. I was a little on edge Thursday, as I would be taking the Regal, with some 236,000 miles on it, up to Portland OR to park it in Mom's garage as I go to Europe and then come back to relocate/job hunt. I had a sensor and a tie rod end replaced the week prior, so I had spent some money on it. Well as most of you know, I live in Delaware, but I don't buy my new cars here, I go to Elkton, Maryland and buy my cars from Anchor Pontiac. They are a great dealership that treats you like family and they go the extra mile. Oh from where I live I can be in 3 different states in about 15 minutes, so going to Maryland is no big deal. I think I may have financially overextended myself a bit. It's sad really, when I think about it. I bought one of the cheapest condos I could find in Toronto. Half the loan is from my grandfather, at a better-than-bank rate. Half the loan is at 6% from the bank, which is fairly decent. My car is pretty basic too, I'm sure you'll all agree. Selling it and getting an older one wouldn't really solve my problems, since insurance is the main issue. My '59 Buick today burned off most of a tank of gas. At 6:00am I dopped off the two couples at Logan foir their flight to Mexico. Well, I'm proud of myself. I happened by a used car dealership and wound up taking a very serious look at the car I covet, a Mini Cooper. This particular Cooper was an S with the stick, sunroof and the bonnet stripes that I absolutely hate. The very first thing I checked out was the back seat, and there is indeed enough room for a forward facing child seat, which is a good thing. Just picked up a '84 Indy Fiero tonight... guy said it ran and shifted perfect and was reliable. Halfway home I go to stop and take off and can't get it into any gears unless I shut off the car. BLACK. Ok, it's appropriate for some cars in that it makes them look sinister or elegant. This is a given. I don't like it because it doesn't highlight a car's good styling lines, is hard to keep clean and, to some extent, is less safe than a lighter colored car....you almost always see a white car at night, even though that's not quite my favorite color. My wife's car (99 Pontiac Grand Am GT with 67000miles) has been enjoyable, but troublesome. Recently her 7th power window lifter failed. My mom's getting rid of her '05 Durango because Friday we went and picked her up a 2007 Rendezvous! This is the car I found for my dad. I am really wanting to get this car as a present for Father's day/his birthday. I have the money but it just depends if he wants it. We will have to go get it and tow it back. It is only $1100 and needs emergency brake cables to be certified. The only other thing needed is bodywork to be done. There is some rust. It's not nearly as involved as another car. I'll eventually turn this: into a nice road bike. It's an Iron Horse Triumph Comp aluminum/carbon frame and fork, and it was a steal. The sad part is, getting this up and running will most likely involve dismantling my beloved restified Schwinn and retiring her if I can't find a cheap way to keep her complete. She served me well, finishing tied for 5th in a century ride two weeks ago. I'll probably ride the Schwinn through the summer and start hording the parts that I can't transfer over.

First of all, I would have had Blake go home during the Bee Gee's week. Then, I'd have sent LaKisha home, leaving Jordin and Melinda going head-to-head in the finale. Who could have won between them, I would not care. Melinda has more experience and a larger vocal range than Jordin, although they both have incredible voices. I resigned from one a couple of months ago. I worked there for almost 3 years. The first 2 years were fine, but one day in early 2006, 6 people (the most promising employees) out of 40 quit and started their own firm. I did it Monday night. I was breaking down a cardboard box to get it to fit in the garbage can, and it came up and nailed me in the right eye. Tuesday morning it was absolutely excruciating - it wouldn't stay open or stop tearing. I went to the hospital, and they sent me home with a prescription for antibiotic eyedrops and two Percocets (stupid pills). I spent most of Tuesday and yesterday in little to no light. Today is the first day I can tolerate a computer screen without pain. My vision is still blurry and will take a week to heal, so no riding this weekend.

I am eating a light dinner of cheese and an apple. I love extra, Extra, EXTRA sharp cheddar to accompany the taste of the apple. This time, I bought "Heluva Good" brand "New York State Extra Sharp", and bleh, what a let-down. It's mild to the point of being flavorless, and it's way too creamy. Well yes I am stuck in the 70's with my vinyl record player. I decided to dust it off balance the needle set up the deck and equalizer. Then threw on some old records. I played some Kansas, Eagles, Doors, Cat Stevens, and some Queen. I always never really cared for queen, but after listening to then for a little bit actually the were very talented. Now I am stuck with some songs stuck in my head. Any other 70-80's band you think were talented. Also vinyl record's seem to have a unique audio tone that has never been masted by digital technology but CD's Are 10000000000 times better then vinyl's could ever be.

I thought as a point of interest I would post something about the impending subway series in NY. I was born just a bit outside of Queens and have been, for my entire life, a huge Mets fan. Such a huge Mets fan that at the age of 20 I have became a season ticket holder at the begging of this season (with much hard earned cash bartending as my second job.) Apparently yesterday was national gas boycott day. Apparently people are dumb enough to believe that if nobody bought gas on May 15th then prices would go down significantly.
