While I don't agree with, I at least get your stance on FWD, Transverse engines, B-pillars and manual transmissions..... the one I don't get is your aversion to uni-body. There were a few uni-body cars that I'm sure would suit all the rest of your requirements quite nicely.... so I'm curious if your hatred of uni-body would be directed at them as well. I could totally see you pulling one of these out of a barn somewhere to use as a daily driver, yet they're all unibody.

Being home from work today, I had a little time on my hands, so I made this PowerPoint graphic of the '86 Grand Prix 2+2. I will post a pic of the Z06 I did some time ago as well. Nice part about these being PPT graphics is that when you scale them, they stay looking good. Either I need to figure out how to make money doing silly stuff like this or find better things to do with my time.

Just wanted to get a grip on who all is going to be here on Saturady to see Fly off on his journey. I don't know what we are going to be doing (after wasting a few hours checking out cars and talking cars). Going to have dinner somewhere has been suggested, which might be the best idea because it is going to be very hot and humid here according to the forecast. Anyway, I wanted to warn the neighbors (I live on a shared driveway) about the cars that will be showing up, so please confirm that you are coming in this thread. Should be a good time.

Son of a friend was given a nice clean older Bonneville SSE as a high school graduation gift. Only problem was the headliner was loose and he was told he would have to fix it. So the kid gets an air powered staple gun and staples the headliner back in place. ....And then gets out to notice what has happened to the roof of the car. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone could help me make an educated guess on how much per month it would cost top lease an 08 CTS that had an MSRP of about 45k. I'd be open to either 24 or 39 month leases though I would prefer the 24 month. my goal is to have the lease payment come out to around 500 a month with an absolute max of 600 a month. I would have 5000 to put down and I need 15k miles a year. Is the 500-600 a month possible. All my prior car shopping have been purchases so leasing is nwe and a little confusing to me.

The question: What cars & when used the E-Body? Don't start typing yet.... I believe a huge degree of confusion comes from those who confuse body designations with chassis designations, which are usually the same folk who want to call all BOF chassis' "platforms" as if they were unibodies. Chassis's, or frames, were NOT designated by the same body letter codes. The B-Body Buick rode a completely different chassis/frame than a B-Body Pontiac in 1960, for example. I came home a week early. I made it...what an adventure. I had to overnight in London because I came into one major airport (Heathrow) and out of another (Gatwick). Bleh, I never set up Word when I got this computer a few years ago. I rarely use it, but yesterday I got an email from my dad about our big family reunion this weekend, and there's a Word attachment with the itinerary I'm supposed to print out. When I try to print it, it says I need to set it up and I need to furnish my "product key", a 25 digit number, which was supposed to be written on the CD case, I guess, or the book... somewhere. That stuff is all gone, I don't know of a way to find that product key now. Can anyone help me set up Word so I can print this document? Many thanks.

Perhaps the greatest (and most dangerous) street race I've ever watched....two British-sounding guys in an '06 Z06 take on a Ford GT on metro Detroit freeways during lunchtime traffic. Speeds up to 160 mph. There are so many times where it could have just ended for one of them....just one little lane change by a passing motorist and it's over. I think the reservations folks must get a kick out of me. I have hub and spoke maps of airline routes in my head, so I suggest what the routing options might be when availability is tight. Do you guys have a good deal of interference with knowing many languages? I mean, I'm taking Spanish, it's my fourth language, and I'm just at wits end here... I'm spelling common words in English wrong and speaking Italian in class. This week, I wasn't able to attend the memorial service of an elderly woman I've known since 1978 ... when my grandparents moved to Batavia IL so my grandfather could pastor a church there. And, in a way, I'm glad I didn't go. Back in 1987, when my then best friend died, I was all about the memorial service. I felt the need to BE there ... and, I was. It was awesome hearing people talk about him ... and hearing stories about him that, sadly, I didn't know. Okay, who else here was up at 12:01 AM, waiting outside (or inside) for the latest edition of the Harry Potter series??? I will admit that I was just as interested in it as my 13 y-o stepson is. My dad decided to buy another motorcycle. A classic 1975 Honda XL175 with an extremely low 340 miles. It runs pretty well for having sit in someone's basement for decades. It's rusty in spots, but overall it's in decent condition. All original and as I mentioned, has only 340 miles. Has a small fuel leak and the clutch sticks sometimes, but that's basically all that's wrong with it. He heard about it from a coworker who didn't want it anymore.. He couldn't resist it. This, after he told me he couldn't afford to help out with the distributor I need. I have no idea what he paid for it, exactly, but I'm quite positive that it was more than $400.

Short history: I am German, born and raised and recently moved here to the US. I want to buy a new vehicle. And that's where my problem starts. My parents always bought Opels, Kadetts more specifically until my uncle started working at a Ford dealership. The other day, my friend's 1996 Buick LeSabre died on him and he's already spent in excess of $2500 in the last two months rebuilding the engine and doing the head gasket... turns out there was something was screwy with the rebuild on the engine and the cylinder chambers need to be re machined... the fuel gauge and odometer have stopped working properly, and it's eating coolant into either the engine or tranny. I am right now in Mount Clemens, MI helping my fiance get situated in her new condo. Today while driving around we noticed a maroon colored 65 Mustang with double barrel 289 V-8 and looked in a decently good condition. The vehicle did not have any noticable physical damage and the interior with beige leather which the owner said is reworked looked pretty decent. The owner is asking about $6500. My fiance always liked owning old cars and she feels like wanting it. Since I am poor in judging old cars other than Corvettes, it will be greatful for all of you guys put your two cents or dollar or $6500 in it.

We all know that the US market is VERY overcrowded with brands, so leaving the big ones out of it (Toyota and Honda aren't going anywhere) what brands need to disappear? Think of the ones that simply drain away sales from more viable brands and don't have much going for themselves. Who needs to go? And, what would be a "good mix" afterward?

Today I went to an auto auction in Salem (the one where the Intrepid came from) for fun...just to see what they had. On my way back I decided to take the highway home. Unbeknown to me until about half an hour ago, my dad apparently now owns a 1999 Buick LeSabre with 90,000 miles, red exterior and gray leather interior, pretty loaded. I'm in DC all this week. I arrived on Sunday. In the two and a half days I've been here I've seen 6 new Toyota Avalon taxi cabs in black or beige just in the small 10 block radius I'm staying. They haven't been beat to hell and back...... yet......but I wonder how they'll hold up over time. Interestingly, DC must not have the age or mileage laws for Taxi cabs as NYC because I have seen a number of B-body wagons from all 3 divisions that made them still chugging about. On my way back from lunch, I was passed by a Custom Bruiser in surprisingly good condition for any 14 year old car, much less a cab.

To be exact, I bought this kayak. Not the best money can buy, sure, but the color does come close to matching the color of my bike, so thats something. It'll be a good one to get some experience on, since I've only kayaked a couple of times. So earlier tonight my girlfriend pointed out that the cat was staring at the overhead light. There was this strange looking fly thing on it...it was long and skinny and had wings. If I were to get rid of the Riviera and no one wanted to buy it, would it be possible to put the interior into my Delta 88? The reason I'm think about this is because my favorite part of this generation Riviera is the dashboard and interior as a whole. With my habit of doing project cars, I am feeling the need to do my own body and paint work. the new Dodge Challenger and how bad I want one....I haven't felt this way about a car in a long time....except for maybe when the Chrysler 300C came out...I love GM, but Chrysler has been releasing the type of cars I love...whether their execution is great or not is up for debate....but large RWD is my passion and GM sort of lacks that at least in a package I find appealing.
