In the XTS, the twin-turbo 3.6L produces 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque (down 10 horsepower and 61 pound-feet compared to the CTS). The twin-turbo 3.6L will be paired with a six-speed automatic. Models equipped with the twin-turbo will have a unique grille and deck lid identification. Cadillac brought it to the LA Auto Show with some updated information. First, let's review some information about the CT6 Plug-In. ok, I think we all agree that the NG CTS is amazing. in order to reinvigorate the srx and sts till a replacment comes along cadillac should do this. Take the 300 hp 3.6 DI and replace all other v6 optioned cars with it. 6 speed auto o everything, speed the DI northstar to production making about 360-380 hp and toss it i everything with a northstar, and tweak and tune the SC northstar for 500 hp so cadd ycan matc bmws numbers. Give the STS a moderate MCE rewroking and maybe a slight one to the XLR and your fully competitive again till the next NG products come out. What do you guys think?

The fate of the Cadillac ELR has been up in the air with no real updates to the model since it was introduced in the 2014 model year, and Cadillac's boss saying there will likely not be a second-generation model. But at least for the time being, Cadillac has introduced some new changes for the 2016 model. No real big changes on the ELR's exterior, only a tweaked grille and wreath-less crest. But the powertrain has seen some big changes. New software upgrades boost power output from 207 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to 233 horsepower and 373 pound-feet. Cadillac is giving the ATS and CTS some much needed improvements for the V6 powertrain. 2016 models will introduce a new version of 3.6L DI V6 producing 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque, an increase 14 and 9 respectively. Along with more power, the 3.6L will see a 9 percent increase in combined fuel economy - 24 MPG for rear-wheel drive and 22 MPG for all-wheel drive models. Cadillac's XT5 is getting a refresh for 2020 that brings it into alignment with the looks of the rest of the brand like the recently introduced CT4 and CT5. The base trim for XT5 is the Luxury model. The Cadillac XT5 will be the first model in a new crossover lineup for the brand. Next up is a compact crossover to take on the likes of the BMW X3 and Lexus NX according to Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. But don't expect it anytime soon. de Nysschen said it would coming out in 2018. Following the compact crossover will be a large crossover that would take on the likes of the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90. Cadillac showed the first images of the coming 2026 Cadillac Vistiq EV today. This vehicle slots above the Lyriq and below the Escalade IQ in Cadillac's EV lineup, effectively taking the ICE-powered Cadillac XT6's spot on the electric side of the lineup. Though they did not provide any technical details, we can assume it will ride on the Ultium platform and come in single-motor rear-wheel and dual-motor front-wheel drive configurations with 340+ horsepower to 500+ horsepower, respectively. Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen is known for slipping out little bits of information. Case in point was earlier today when an analyst in a Facebook group said Cadillac would axing the V8 from most of their models aside from Cadillac CTS-V and Escalade. Johan joined the discussion and went on to correct this by stating that there will be a new V8 engine that will be purpose built for Cadillac. As I was reading and drooling over the CTS-V in this months Motor Trend I noticed the sidebar talking about the upcoming coupe and wagon. It said the coupe was ripe for the V treatment and the upcoming wagon could introduce the new clean diesel and they didn't think there would be a CTS-V wagon due to high development costs to low sales volume. After reading about the CTS Wagon, diesel, V, whatever, just add AWD and I'll seriously consider one. I've been on a practical movement lately with my vehicles for some odd reason. But you might be thinking this is the larger CT5, the replacement for the CTS. Both vehicles are dressed up in similar-looking camouflage and have the same overall shape. The CTS was selling at record numbers even though the car is four model years old, the Escalade was keeping steady and the STS was beating the Seville sales by over 200%. Then October came and took a 7.9% year-over-year gain and turned it into a 4.9% gain. To keep the long story short, the GM has a new 3.6 liter V6. It's called the LFX. It'll be used in the Camaro, the CTS and everything else that currently use the 3.6 DI V6. It makes 318~323 hp / 275~278 lb-ft. As is desirable for a across the board engine, it runs on 87 Octane with 11.3:1 compression. The question is whether Cadillac should get a "Premium" version of this powerplant. Premium as in "Premium" performance as well as "Premium" fuel. Going to 91 Octane will enable the compression ratio to go up about a point to about 12.3:1 with higher compression pistons, this alone should bump output by about 7~8% which will take you to about 340hp horses. The past few months have seen numerous spy shots of the Cadillac ATS-V come out. While its good to see that GM is working on it, there hasn't anything groundbreaking in that time. What is groundbreaking is getting the first spy shots of the bigger brother, the upcoming CTS-V.
