I've been thinking (yeah, yeah-I know :AH-HA_wink: ) Anyways, I've been thinking about what I could replace the wagon with. I've seen quite a few 98-01 Blazers around here for sale, with most running between 3-6 grand, and many with 4x4 power... A cheap Suv beater would be nice, so I could take it camping, haul stuff (and dogs) and take bunches of people with me... Good stuff: Cheap, the 4.3 (most I've seen are around 100k) which should last a while...good for winter here... Bad: Lots of little issues... I saw a 01/02 trailbalzer (fancy blazer) with 101k for 4600...didn't sound too bad.... THoughts? I know BV wants to get in on this one... :AH-HA_wink: …

A maroon sedan - alloys, etc. Obviously very new, but with far too many barcodes. Yup. It was a rental. I attempted a picture with my cell phone camera that didn't come out well, but it was definitely a rental. My evidence: Four barcodes (two windshield, one on each quarter window) Hotel parking pass Hats and beach gear on the rear parcel shelf An Enterprise rental contract on the dash Just thought it was interesting.

  5. I definitely stole this from Autoblog but I thought it was a great little topic. I know it GREATLY varies based on the vehicle itself because a 5500lb SUV/Truck will need more power than a sub 3000lb car. With that said.. For the "average" 3000-4000lb vehicle I think I would want minimum 200-250hp as a daily. Something that can achieve nothing less than a 15.5 second quarter mile. I know that involves more than just hp but as it's been stated hp isn't everything. I will always want something a little fun even though a slow 15.5 isn't anything special it is quick enough to pass on demand, have a little fun with hard launches, and not aggravate me. As the vehicle …

  6. The fine folks over at C&D just got a piece on the new M4 Comp Pkg up- C&D M4 Compt Pkg Test Almost 90K for a coupe built off base sport/lux sedan bones seems steep, even for an admitted BMW fan such as myself. So let's see what you gents make of this scenario. Base price is $74,845, but as-tested was $89,995. So let's use a range of $75,000-90,000. Rules are as follows- 1) Must be a 2 door performance coupe of some kind. 2) Must be a new 2016-17 MY car on sale now. 3) MSRP MUST be AT LEAST $75,000, but NO MORE THAN $90,000.

I had never heard of this car, the 1986 Buick LeSabre Grand National: http://www.lesabret-type.com/LeSabreGN.html Exactly What is a LeSabre Grand National? Many do not even know that Buick Division of General Motors produced the Grand National on a platform other than on the Regal but there was a very unique Grand National built in late1985 – the 1986 LeSabre Grand National. 117 (or 112) copies were built to qualify the new, first year 1986 LeSabre FWD Coupe body for NASCAR competition. I've mentioned before my mother recently has gotten a "thing" for new Camaro's, calling me about ones she sees, pointing them out when out, asking me questions about them, etc. Yesterday I was actually home for once and while she was cooking dinner, 5pm rolled around and I clicked on Motorweek in the kitchen. Typically I'd be the only one interested in this show at all, but from the second "Camaro" was uttered a certain someone ordered "quiet!", turned up the volume, and intently stopped what she was doing to watch every second of the review. lol funny title. Anyway, the Camaro's gas gauge has its head up its ass. Went out of town, filled it up to a half-tank. It was about a 100 mile trip there and back. My car will go for 400 miles on a full-tank, which a full Camaro gas tank holds 15.5 gallons. That equals up to around 25 mpg in mixed conditions. That's about average gas mileage for a V6 Camaro with a 5-speed. So if this is true, my car could have made this trip on about 1/4 of a tank, right? I've done it before, so it did it again, right? No. Apparently, it took the whole damn half-tank to do it. It also somehow managed to go about 50 miles reading flat empty. So today, I put five bucks in it. It obvi…

What is so cool about riding around in your base model with no wheel covers? I am still seeing a lot of cars riding on black steelies. What is the purpose of it? Why is it cool? They're keeping those black steelies clean as a whistle, too. I was thinking maybe it is a drag racing thing, where the racing tires are mounted on steelies, so maybe it's supposed to make that Cavalier/Focus/Jetta/Cobalt/ION/xB etc look like a RACE CAR. Can someone enlighten me? And when are the OEMs going to jump on this? Make those plastic wheel covers an option, since so many come off immediately anyway.

The cost is $ 5600 for conventional ones (which he recommends for me) and $ 6300 for the Invisalign which will take 18 months. YIKES. I definitely need the remaining 2 consults. A FWD car would have to be extremely unique/original/rare to even be considered. You guys know I'm RWD obsessed, let's not get into semantics. Long derogated as weak-kneed liberals with lax laws and funny monopoly money, Canadians have carried a negative connotation in certain regions of America – but not as a replacement for the N-word. Well, I guess they have trained killer whales perform all over the world, but handling them or training them is something that gets a "no thanks." I will say the same about sky-diving..."no thanks." What happened today at Sea World was very sad. Even sadder was the fact that spectators had to watch it. This whale was a problem, having done this sort of thing many years ago...they should have put him on a ship and sent him back to the waters of Puget Sound or the Inside Package. Story here Did this stun you as well? Do you think they should stop having these exhibits? Not having a killer whale show wouldn't be a deal breaker. Most famous world aquariums don't hav…

Well, it will certainly be a shortened edition due to the downtime of the site, but I thought we should have one anyways. I haven't seen much new stuff recently, but I did see a Subaru B9 Tribeca yesterday. The local dealer also got in a Colorado Xtreme which looked pretty cool.

I left out hyundai, and other Korean makes, as this is too obvious of a choice. To me, the current winner of choice is any older honda. Being a Landlord it becomes obvious real quick that those out of the know choose honda. For people worried about political correctness - WT means people who seem to think it's ok to go out in public without a shower, those who's homes are usually full of drugs, those who use public assistance for food but have the money to purchase cigarettes and beer, etc., etc. The color of their skin or heritage is irrelevant.

Langley is to be first operational AFB for the F/A-22. The Aircraft flying along with the F/A-22 in several of these photos is the F-15D, which will be replaced by the F/A-22 since testing by the USAF has verified predictions that the F/A-22 would be several times better than the F-15. OK, some strange situation arose for my G6. I talked to my dad, and since we wanted to lose the dependency on the co-lessee, my dad is now financing me instead, and we are going to cash purchase it. Something to do with the insurance stuff. However, I called the dealer today in order to deal the price of the car again, and all of a sudden I was told that the saleslady I was dealing with is no longer with the dealership, and now I find myself dealing directly with the sales manager. Things were wierd. I sent her numerous e-mails in the past week, none of them got replied. About 2 days ago, when I got worried about my deposit, I went in to confirm the status of my car, sh…

Apparently the alternator did something wrong while the car was in my sister's possession and it started a fire. This is what the engine compartment looks like now... The worst part? Create a list of at least 8 questions to ask them. Your project will consist of the questions you have created and your written version of your interviewee's responses to each question. As I was having a photo shoot of myself, haha, I played around with a few colored plastic film-things for my strobe light as well as a lense for my LED flashlight. Also... here's a Grand Prix GXP I played around with.

Well... The things she asked... How were sales going Was traffic up with the launch of the Tahoe? Were people asking about the tahoe? What is the general perception of the Tahoe? Looking at the traffic the Tahoe has broght are you looking forward to the upcoming vehicles like the Suburban? Would you say sales are up even over January?

Here's the lowdown: This fall, chances that I'll finally find something to drive are looking good. I'm hoping to God I'll manage to be driving a classic first-generation Pontiac Firebird, but I'm not going to bet the bank on it. I've considered some other options that fit my criteria (it has to be rear-drive) so I can have a backup plan just in case things don't turn out the way I have planned them to. I've considered more modern cars, too, and Cadillac's Catera has made it's way onto my list. The car is okay as is. But a thought crossed my mind: if I do end up driving one of these, could I graft the nose of the GTO onto a Catera? And with a little bit of fabrication a…

I'm heading into my first year of college this weekend, and I am an aspiring author and admitted car nut. As such, I have made a career of scouring the net for automotive news, articles, reviews and anything else I can get my hands on. While it isn't my aim to lash your work with name-calling and finger-pointing, I will say that TTAC is undoubtedly the most self-fulfilling, disconnected and irrelevant source of car news I have ever come across. I ask because I saw yet another one today - white, with chrome wheels - just cruising down to the beach. I pass it and just observe it as I do and I could shake the feeling I had that this was likely the single ugliest automobile I have ever seen on the road. Seriously. The rear is too tapered and contorted. The car is too tall and way too narrow for being so tall. And the headlamps are so small they look just plain stupid. I would say this looks like one of those cheesy Zimmer kitcars but some Zimmers look damn nice. Is something wrong with me? Shouldn't I be appreciating this rolling hunk of what's left of stout British pride? I like pretty much every other Roll…

The Year Is: 1940 The year is 1940 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike has just opened it's first section. You're going to be traveling on this section from now on and you want a car that can keep up with traffic and not be a rattle can at higher speeds. As one of the first drivers on this section of road, what would you drive? ************************************************* I'd drive a 1940 Oldsmobile convertible. No only does it have everything, it also has a Hydra-Matic transmission so I don't have to ride the clutch through all those toll booths. Boo-yah!

I've been thinking lately - I can't wait for Ford to fold. The sooner they do, the less likely it is that GM will do the same. The UAW will have to make some kind of concession if Ford folds. Maybe then GM could compete. Would this work? Will it come to this? What do you think?

My friend teaches a Gifted and Talented program in her school... her student is a 5th grader (approximately 10 years old). He wants to know more about engines. I told her that's a very open-ended question, as there's a HUGE amount of information to know for each thing. What my question is, are there any good websites that might explain engines (starting with basic information, like OHV vs. OHC), but isn't too complicated to understand? Any websites that might have some animation to show the student about engines in motion, for example, pistons and their firing order, valves opening and closing, etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Your Crazy uncle is offering to give you a Cadillac ATS brand new free and clear, but it must be the only performance car that you own. This will be a three part question. Part #1, Spec out your ATS and tell us about it! Part #two, you must pick 2 (only two) GM cars built between and including 1975 to 2004. The rub is, no performance vehicles allowed. Corvette is off the table, even if ti is the 305 cubic inch California emissions model. V8 Camaros and Firebirds are off the list with one exception. Fiero is excluded, as is say a Turbo…
