It'll be nice to finally get the Millenia running, whether I decide to sell it or drive it (course, it'll still need tires and brakes). Either way, this is step towards getting out of the Cutlass that I really need to take. After that, the Cutlass's fate will be decided on.

  11. Reuters March 17, 2008 - 6:25 am ET NEW DELHI (Reuters) -- General Motors wants to launch a second small car in India in the next two years as it looks to capitalize on growth in emerging markets to offset any sluggishness in U.S. sales, a senior company official said. The model will not compete directly with Tata Motors' low-cost Nano but will be cheaper than GM's current lowest priced car in India, David Reilly, GM group vice-president, told a news conference on Monday. Small cars less make up nearly three-quarters of India's market. GM offers the Chevrolet Spark in the sector for about 300,000 rupees ($7,350). "We need some thing lower than what we have got…

So, 143 million were impacted and our population is now probably around 325 million. When you remove the under 21 crowd, the elderly on limited incomes who aren't doing much with credit, and folks who don't have much input into their credit reports because they don't use it, that's almost all Americans between 30 and 70. Their investigating the situation was big news at the very beginning but I haven't heard much about it. I don't believe that the company's stock took much of a hit. Then, on the heels of that…

He obviously knew he did it because he became so self-destructive afterward. I heard he was not treated well in public and probably had to constantly look over his shoulder. If he was truly innocent, he could have had a clear conscience, could have lived a life of luxury and could have been surrounded by blonde poon. I guess he'll have to take what's available in adjacent jail cells, or Rosey Palms, now. Justice is served. May the sentencing be just as harsh.

The current deal of 0% for 60 months is good and all, but I could benefit from the extra 12 month offer. Does anyone know how well GM sales are right now? I think that was taken from the first scene of Terminator 1 when the guy is sitting in the garbage truck as the Terminator timewarps in.

What we need now is one of these. Why it didn't go into production, I have no idea. It should have. Recently, at a open house at the GM Heritage Center, this little puppy showed up, fresh from a rebuild. Twin cam Cosworth engine, much like an early ecotech. 5 speed, bad ass look I think...cowl hood. F- body styling, some crappy vega parts, but sort of an early kind of Solstice/Sky feel to it...pics don't do it justice! This design was a result of the energy CrIsiS in the 70s, but the style of this unit speaks to me. Needs cool wheels and tires but otherwise excellent! I would imagine some amazing mpg with such a wedge to cut thru the air. I feel like buildin…

A couple months ago the fiance' got rear ended in her 2005 G500. Everybody was okay, that I know of. The rear-ender I think went to the ER but we never heard anything after. I don't believe it was anything serious. Anyway, it was enough to total her G500. For better or worse that thing is a tank. They were all sore the next few days, as with most any accident but for getting hit at about 40-50mph while standing still(they were waiting to turn left on a two-lane road) it held up almost as if it hadn't been smoked from behind. Well, she got an Outlander as a rental almost two weeks later. Their insurance company was being a huge pain in the @ss. Somewhat ironically, w…

Maybe that last point is why some people are beginning to show hostility towards the car that's become the Kleenex of hybrids. Andy Richter and James Adomain of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater have played off the Prius backlash in a faux car commercial pitting the Hyundai Elantra against Toyota's famous hybrid. Richter, formerly of Late Night with Conan O'Brien fame and not much since, plays the part of the frugal-minded Hyundai owner with an underlying anger issue, while Adomain gets all spiffed up to play the snobbish know-it-all with t…

  69. WASHINGTON -- The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he's bedeviled by a fly in the White House. PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside. "We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. "We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals." During an interview for CNBC at the White House on Tuesday, a fly intruded on Obama's conversation with corr…

I was just thinking about this after seeing an ad for a local steakhouse. Opening up a steak, or a piece of meat, and "seeing red" makes my stomach turn. I always order it well done. All of it has to be some shade of tan/brown. Not only that, a knife has to go through it fairly easy and I don't want to wrestle with it. How do you order your steak or grilled meat?

What will you regret never getting to own...? Chris

The early models (because they look like Jeeps :sign0200: ) Since they killed her beloved Vibe, her heart is set on one of these things. I guess this could work, since I was planning to get her a used one anyways (car). I have to admit, do like the the looks of em'......... So, anybody have some good info on these things? Long shot showing the Mazda and the vehicle that did the damage to it. Yes, that's an M1A1 Abrams tank. A company in Ontario does work on the M1A1 Abrams tank, and their work requires them to have one on site. When taking it out of storage yesterday, the driver had a little problem.

When I was little, I first got Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys and then Legos that I would play with for hours and build all these little cities. Then as I got older, I got K'Nex, Micro Machines (I had so many of the city sets that I could cover half of a room), and finally my favorite toy, Girder and Panel. I found my first Girder and Panel (known as KenStruct in the 70s) set at a garage sale...it's basically where you construct skyscrapers with these little plastic beams and columns and then you snap on these plastic panels for the walls and windows. The first set was from the mid 70s, and then one day at Toys R' Us I found out they had a new set and got that for a Ch…

Basically, this was a kick in the balls because that's all I ever focused on and never looked into any other cars. I really like muscle cars, but unfortunately the insurance is too high and the only ones available in my price range are Camaro, Firebird, and Mustang, but of course I would never buy a piece of garbage Mustang. The local mothballed coal fired plant called Lakeview, a long-standing waterfront landmark in Toronto's west end, had its smoke stacks toppled! It looked surreal in person. They fell in a semi-slow-motion way, with a loud thud and plumes of smoke. Check out the videos shot by CTV News : http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTV...hub=TorontoHome

This could very well be something I'll start doing monthly...or even bi-monthly. You see, I have over a decade of old "Car & Driver" magazines stored in a Rubbermaid bin in my closet, and I need to put them to good use. Here's the idea I had: every month, pull one random issue out of mothballs and scan something random from the issue I select. It could be an ad, it could be an article. Every page is fair game. To start us off, I decided to show off a bunch of random junk. Since this is the first -- or last, I'm not sure -- it's deserving of a light boom. So, yesterday, I drive out to Rancho Mirage (bolts onto Palm Springs) and I'm on KRTH and I hear "Spill The Wine." What a goof-ass song, complete with the lady speaking Spanish in the background. Absurd. Then, I'm driving back and there's Disco Saturday Night ( ) on KBIG. I heard "Lady Marmalade" (voulez vous cou…

  95. So I'm reading the new article on DCX's minivans and I came cross this. But the truth is, the most important thing about the 2008 Chrysler minivans, which are to be unveiled at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, is that they exist at all. The two other more-or-less domestic companies that have produced minivans in the past, General Motors and Ford, have both announced they're ceding the segment to the Japanese, the Koreans and, of course, Chrysler. So I suppose Toyota is more or less American too now right?
