Our choices have been narrowed down to three and I'm wondering if I could get some commentary/opinion from people who are more familiar with these choices and the powertrains (how the 2.4L Malibu performs in comparison to the 3.5L V6, how the 3.9 does for fuel economy relative to the 3.5. Ok, I know this is a GM fansite and all, but there's one thing we really need to stop. Defending GM cars JUST because they are GM's cars. I've been watching this for a while now, and use to do it myself. But after being inside of my 2001 Crapalier, I've come to a new understanding of what being a GM fan is, and now I'm going to spell it out. You CANNOT pretend that GM cars made before the 2005 MY are as good or better than their foreign counterparts. The 2004 Malibu is a POS compared to the 2004 Accord, a vehicle that was in production for, what? 2 years? Yeah. You CANNOT continue to pretend that GMs marketshare hemorrhage for the past 30 years…

The local Chevy-Cadillac-MB-Volvo dealership posted an ad in the paper for 2 people to detail cars. It says it's full time, so I'll have to investigate that (I would rather work 4 days a week and have 2 days off - something like Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat) but I think it might be a pretty good job for the summer. I think I'd get to clean up the new vehicles and take them to the gas station to fuel them up, which might be fun. It's certainly better than a burger-flipping job, and I think I'm going to get really bored if I don't get a job for the summer, but I don't want to work full time either. What does everyone think about this as a possible summer job?

I just picked up this latest issue. Of great interest (to me at least) is a nice big article on the genesis and styling evolution of the 1977 GM fullsizers. This first round of modern GM downsizing was a spectacular success, followed in 1978 by another successful round when the A- and A-Special cars were made smaller. In 1979, the E-body cars were done, another success, imo. After that, things went downhill for GM, imo, as continued downsizing and the wholesale switch to FWD platforms reached a ridiculous fever pitch that GM has never fully recovered from until very recently. My hopes for GM's future have been high for the last few years, but are starting another dow…

So, I'm somewhat a fan of what Chevy has done with the HHR - tasteful retro in a useful package. I think they should build on that... First, the idea of a "Heritage" line of cars. The HHR can be billed as the first one (and works well since it stands for "Heritage High Roof." Then try one more. If that's a hit, try another. Essentially having some semi-specialty products in the line of Scion, but without the need for an actual new brand (just a "series"), and with actual product heritage to draw from and inspire people. Granted, some do not love retro design - that's why these are nitch products (they might command a better profit margin that way anyway...). First…

  71. Okay I am looking foward to cleaning up my Bonneville very good. I have some rust-ish like oxidation forming deep in the corner of my N89 chrome wheels on my Bonneville. Any oxidation products that can remove it. Would some paste wax work? I have waxed them and polished them with spray wax alot but it still happend over the winter when I have MUCH less time to do this kind of stuff. Can I someone please help me, or am I stuck with the wheels like that? (Please say no!)

We saw plenty of these multi-level parking structures during our trip to NYC this past week, and even commented on how their space efficiency would work well in our own cities where giant parking garages dominate the landscape. Perhaps we spoke too soon. Autoblog reader Mel spotted this scene just around the corner from the Jacob Javits Center where the 2009 New York Auto Show is being held. The multi-level steel parking structure evidently failed, sending a Lexus GS sliding down on top of a Land Rover and the front end of an also-raised Honda Accord. The kicker? A 1998 Chrysler Town and Country and older Camry sit just outside the frame unscathed. The Ford Edge that ju…

Experts who have studied the US navy's cetacean training exercises claim the 36 mammals could be carrying 'toxic dart' guns. Divers and su…

Here's what I want: *must be relatively easy to pick up *can not cost over $120, $150 at the most *allow me to enter chopping competitions and create sigs *and be reliable (i.e. does not crash frequently or close by itself) I'm looking at the Adobe Photo Shop Elements 4.0, since it's reasonably priced ($79.98 at Target), but Corel Photo something-or-another Version X looked like a good bet, too. Any suggestions?

I've heard more than one supposed 'expert' voice their take on said history, and this has never been mentioned. It's secondary, not primary, but in my experience/observations over time, facts such as these tend to carry a lot more weight than one might assume. Certainly, it speaks toward motivation. I almost want to start up a website, because there is no authoritative source online to just 'give' it to...

It is highly encouraged for participants in this movement to wear red to signify to the world their desire for everyone to know who they are and what they believe in.
