So sad, Toyota appears to be manufacturing poor quality vehicles...and I thought they were perfect, I cry. Feds investigate possible wind deflector glass defect on Scion tC HARRY STOFFER | Automotive News Posted Date: 9/14/05 WASHINGTON -- Toyota has launched and sold 200,000 units of three Scion vehicles in just over two years without a safety recall. But that achievement may be in jeopardy. Federal safety officials said last week that they are stepping up an investigation of wind deflectors on the sunroofs of 2005 Scion tC coupes. A Highlander Hybrid review. http://www.freep.com/money/autoreviews/phe...1e_20050811.htm Then some people sent him letters to justify why his mileage sucked. Sounds like these people are using voodoo to get high mileage in their hybrids.......or they are just making up figures so they don't look like idiots for spending a bunch of extra money on a hybrid: http://www.freep.com/money/autoreviews/mai...8e_20050818.htm

Just saw one tonight with one of those gawdawful xb-boxes, and it transforms from a wheeless wreck thru a number of (all ugly) wheel & body panel changes until this orange, heavily-cladded...thing is sitting there and the voice over says (paraphrased): 'Ready to be personalized by you'. What's was hilarious was the disclaimer type clearly visible below it: 'Vehicle not drivable or street-legal'! Not drivable?!?!:lol::lol:

You might not want to visit the site but at least take a look at the pictures... http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t96205.html A new generation Lexus SC 430 coupe-cabriolet will be unveiled at Frankfurt, extensively remodelled for 2006. The revisions include styling changes, improvements to the interior and a higher specification with the introduction of Lexus’s Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS). AFS, already available on RX, GS and LS models, swivels the headlamp beams in line with the vehicle’s speed and steering angle to provide better illumination through bends. The 2006 Lexus SC 430 will go on sale throughout Europe in November.

http://www.channel4.com/4car/news/news-sto...p?news_id=12936 Safety: You lookin' at me? 06 Sep 05 15:28 Toyota claims to have developed the world's first safety feature that monitors a car's operator rather than external dangers on the road and warns a heedless driver if a crash is imminent, reports Reuters. The new pre-crash safety system will be offered on the new Lexus GS hybrid executive saloon to debut in Japan next spring. Toyota hasn't confirmed whether the system will be offered to European markets. When sensors detect that a crash is imminent, the monitoring system uses a camera mounted on the steering column and an image-processing c…

Cherry Hill Village, a picture-perfect, prosperous American subdivision, was an ideal setting for "Toyotaville" -- a TV ad featuring a town with a Toyota in every driveway. But Cherry Hill Village feels more like Ford country -- and plans to film the commercial were scrapped. "There was too much controversy," said Tom Yack, supervisor of Canton Township, where the subdivision is located. "It was just a reaction from the Ford people who didn't want to see it there." He said many residents work for Ford, while others have been laid off by the Dearborn-based automaker. Resident Mark Cramton had expected his street to be f…

http://www.tctimes.com/site/news.cfm?newsi...id=494488&rfi=8 Some things never change There's a Toyota ad running currently that brags about the fact that they have eight manufacturing plants in the U.S. building more than a million vehicles a year. The ad then finishes with some patriotic music and the statement "Toyota - a company that has created over 200,000 U.S. jobs - a company proud to do its small part to add to the landscape of America." Pass the barf bag please. Take just four or five minutes to read this article. Read some actual facts about the U.S. auto industry, not the spin put out by those wiley Japanese. In terms of quality, o…

The company targets U.S. sales of 2.22 million units this year. A Toyota spokesman said the company announces its annual sales targets in December for the following year, and it has not revealed its 2008 target.
