I really like the Dodge Magnum Hemi/SRT8 vehicles. I am nowhere close to being a MOPAR guy and would love for GM, preferably Chevy, to build something comparable. I believe Pontiac would be the best served to pull it off. Any possiblilities? Keep in mind: fairly new member, very few posts, and continue to like the Dodge Magnum and trying not to admit it.

They are closing both of their Saturn dealerships, one in Monrovia (one town East of here) and the other in Alhambra (2 towns southwest of me and bordering on Los Angeles.) Two weeks ago, General Motors announced a massive recall that involves 778,562 Chevrolet Cobalts built between 2005 to 2007 and Pontiac G5s built in 2007 because of a faulty ignition switch that slip out of the run position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder. It's from an WSJ article, but it's a pay site, so unable to read it. But that was the headline. THANK GOD! The best decision Wagoner, Lutz, and Co., have made in a while! I think they need to go through the motions and consider the deal, but in the end, they will reject it. And I think the board will go ahead and reject it as well. It's the wrong time to consider an alliance like this. Besides, if GM starts making money sometime soon, they may be able to buy Nissan-Renault in a few years.

The final UAW local union ratified a new labor agreement with American Axle on May,22,2008 ending a work stoppage that affected appoximately 30 GM plants in North America. As previously disclosed , the work stoppage at American Axle resulted in a loss of appoximately 100,000 production units in the first quarter of 2008 , which had estimated impact on earnings before tax of appoximately $0.8 billion. Last week in San Jose, California there was an alternative fuel cars display which was represented by GM, Nissan, Honda and Ford(at least in the spot where I was). GM was displaying a blue Opel Zafira hydrogen fuel cell technology.
