I'm inquiring about two 2009 GM-issued calendars that dealers receive (or buy?) and distribute to their customers: 2009 GM Muscle Cars 2009 GM Classic Cars & Trucks I've tried a bunch of my local dealers to see if they had either calendar to give me with no luck (one dealer said that "GM stopped doing them over a decade ago" ). Do any of our dealership personnel here have access to these calendars? I'd definitely like to get one of each, if possible, and I'm willing to reimburse the cost of shipping. Thanks in advance!!

I wasn't even on the road! I was backing the Sunfire out of the driveway, the HHR was to my left and the van was behind me. I was concentrating on not stalling (because I do that too much) and cut left too soon and my left front fender ran into the HHR's rear bumper. So the HHR's bumper only has some scuffs but my Sunny's fender is all caved in. Do I know how to start the year off with a bang or what!

2008 was a year of few cheers. There was an abundance of misery to go around. The continuing mortgage meltdown led to the credit crunch and the sinking of the stock market. Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns went bye-bye. Madoff’s $50 billion mother of all Ponzi schemes further shook investors’ confidence. Jobs disappeared. Politics was big this year as Obama’s hope and change resonated with the country, and Sarah Palin’s “you betcha” shtick grew old. The price of a gallon of gas exceeded $4 and resulted in people’s wallets being cleaned out and the sales of SUVs decimated. And then the price of gas plummetted to $1.50 due to the sinking economy. In the land of che…

Inspired by the top 3 rock n' roll songs thread, list 5 to 10 (or whatever you feel like) rock songs that get on your nerves. They may not necessarily be bad songs, just overplayed and overhyped. BTO - Takin' Care of Business Aerosmith - Dude Looks Like a Lady (I like Aerosmith...but I hate this song) Steppenwolf - Born to Be Wild AC/DC - Back in Black Black Sabbath - Iron Man Ozzy - Crazy Train Metallica - Enter Sandman Jane's Addiction - Jane Says Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again The only two I can't stand are Takin' Care of Business and Dude Looks Like a Lady, but I get really tired of hearing all of them on the radio.

Our ham, Patches Her brother, Bear Our rescued cat, who we found, of all places, in a PetSmart parking lot near Christmas 2 years ago, Ginger Our oldest cat, Rose Our biggest cat, "The Lump", rescued when he was a stray kitten, Spitfire and our two Silver Tip "Sharks" Ula and Murry, who we finally decided to name after owning them for 3 years, back when they were the size of a pinky, now they're two-third's the length of my forearm.

So after wanting a good digital camera for the last three years, I (we) finally got one for Christmas. Jessica and I got it as a gift from my brother and my mother. It's a Canon SX10 IS. Funny thing is it's the same one BV recently got, and even funnier is that it he bought his from the same place this came from: newegg. I love taking pictures, so this is quite awesome. For now I'm just playing with the settings and taking test photos, but what a difference compared to the Kodak. So naturally I've taken one or two.

Plymouth in it's heyday had huge sales, often in the top three in America. It was sad to see this brand disappear. It was created as an economy division. The name Plymouth is often thought to derive from the landing of the Pilgrims, but what finalized the deal for the name was the very popular, at the time, 'Plymouth Bindertwine'...which most people were aware of. Plymouth went onto great success. Here are some of my favorite Plymouths.

Balthazar's son opening his gift got me thinking of past gift openings. One of my favorite gifts was a race car track set. Man, I loved that gift. Another was a gas station with cars and little service men. Was in heaven when I opened that. I remember also a remote control car, so fun...but it was a Thunderbird. My folks didn't yet know what a GM fan I'd become. If you were a kid now, what would you like under the tree? Also, I realized at Christmas, I'll eat stuff early morning, around breakfast time, that I'd never eat other times of the year. Like chocolates, Christmas cookies etc...

My cat is fascinated with the bathtub. In the a.m., when I am in the bathroom doing other things, she jumps up on the edge of the tub and wants me to turn the water on at a drip. She then jumps in and walks UNDER the stream, like a little dummy. She always seems surprised when she gets wet that way. Then she asks me to shut the water off, so she can drink without getting splashed. Later, after my shower, she immediately jumps in the tub as I exit. She sits in the wet tub and loves it. Is my cat we todd it?

What does your city / town / state use to clear the roads of snow? My state was all about salt until about 5 years ago when they began to switch to a combination of de-icer chemical and sand. It doesn't do as good of a job of clearing the roads (usually results in a slushy mess that eventually melts away when temps warm), but the combination is supposedly less harmful to vehicle paint than salt. I'm not sure how much I believe that though, because the rocker panels of my '94 Lumina have rusted far faster than my previous '90 Lumina that was mostly exposed to salt.

Going up to Lake Tahoe last weekend, I was able to marvel (for the umpteenth time) at its dramatic beauty. The fact that it could snow at a moment's notice and one would have to chain up put me in an "eh" mood. I was thinking: "there's no way I could live up here." Today, I was cleaning up and looking at post cards I collect. The common denominator: at least 95% of them are beach or port scenes. Besides, granolas and ex-hippies take refuge in mountain towns. They don't gravitate to the beach as readily. That being said, if I had to pick "beach" or "mountains" to hang my hat year round, it would be "beach." What about you?

What's your favorite exercise? My favorite is swimming. I love the water and have always enjoyed swimming, particularly underwater. Back when my girlfriend and I lived in Wichita, the apartment place had it's own pool and we would go their almost every day. Before that we had friend who had a fitness membership at a Windham hotel, and would go swimming fairly regularly. Sadly we don't go anymore. When we move I want a place the has a pool, either that or get another membership.

North Carolina Transportation Museum -- Spencer Shops History of the N.C. Transportation Museum The N.C. Transportation Museum is located on the site of what was once Southern Railway Company's largest steam locomotive servicing facility. J.P. Morgan, Southern's owner, chose the site because of its location midway between the railroad's major terminal points of Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, Ga. Construction of the Shops began in 1896, and they were named in honor of the first president of Southern Railway, Samuel Spencer. During its peak, Spencer Shops employed nearly 3,000 people, which directly and indirectly provided most of the jobs for the towns of Spencer, E…

Wrapping Christmas presents sucks. I'm terrible at it, everything looks bad, but I really dont care since its going to end up all over my living room floor anyways. My brilliant plan (which was rejected) was to put everyone's gifts in their own pile, put a blanket or tarp or something over each pile then let everyone pull the cover off to reveal all their gifts at once. But no, everything has to be wrapped individually. Buckets of Lincoln Logs and sleeping bags are really hard to wrap.

This is a great documovie and it makes me miss when the guys ran real cars or had some sort of personality that was different from corporate smiles. If there was emotion and personality in NASCAR it would be better today in my opinion.

Here are the rules of this thread-post a link of a GM (only GM, Sorry boys) car for sale in your locality and tell why you like it. I get to go first... http://www.arenamotor.com/listings/l0005.html I like it because 1. Its a 4 speed 2. it's a great color combo 3. I've always had a soft spot for chrome bumper C3's 4. It's a driver and hasn't been resotred to within an inch of it's life as a trailer queen 5. The top goes down! 6. Orig. drivetrain 7. It just has "the look" if you know what I mean... Your turn, guys (and GMpartsgirl). Respond as to what you like or don't like about this car..or post a link to a car in your area. Oh, and Sixty Eight they have on…

Bettie Page So sad that she passed. A lot of people thought she was already dead, since she basically fell off the map in '58. She was a revolutionary, helped fire up the sexual revolution and gave women the courage to explore their sexuality. Amazing lady and we owe her a lot.

You know I have been thinking about a F-Body 2000-2002 with a V6 Coupe/T-Tops, I really would like a Firebird but found this Camaro at a only 6 grand with 59K! It is maroon (not first color choice my last actually because of my Cranberry SLE) and it has a fixed roof (great) and a stick (even better) and is priced good I think... Plus it is in Milwaukee and only 150 miles from my home. Plus I have family in that area as well... Hmm here is the car tell me what I should do... Keep in mind it would be my sons to drive to school and ours to play with on the weekends. My daughter would get the Impala then... Hmmm it is tempting but if it was white and had Pontiac on it, I prol…

So we had a pretty major winter storm here in New England last night. It's been crazy weather. Last weekend the temps were in the 10's and 20's, earlier this week they were almost 60 with one storm. Temps dropped back down with this storm that just passed over us, giving a good chunk of New England one of the worst Ice Storms in recent history. Apparently much of the area is without power, although we're lucky and still have it. Here's some photos from this morning. I'll say this: ice is dangerous but it sure looks pretty.

About two months ago I started to get terrible pains on the right side of my abdomen, at first I ignored them as most men would do, but they persisted. I waited to see if they would go away but they only got worse as time wore on. Not being the kind of person that sticks his head in the sand, I took medical leave and decided to come back to the United States to see what the hell was going on with me. I decided to grab the bull by the horns as it were, and I scheduled an appointment with a gastroenterologist (sp?). The night before my procedures, I got the choice of two lovely prep kits to start the ball rolling as it were. The 1st prep kit you had to mix a gallon of cle…

Reading FOG's thread quiet praise for the Cavi and how well it did it's job, got me thinking: What are some good cars/trucks out there that most people may not think so highly of? I could start with a few: 1.)The Cavalier, of course. These cars tend to do pretty well in almost everything... it's kinda sad it was so far behind most of the time.... Pretty much everyone I know (there were a few bad apples) were/are pretty happy with their Cav. I've noticed the engines will easliy outlast the body. I had to finally get rid of my 93 (the 3.1 was still running strong at almost 150k) beacuse it was rusty.... They tend to hold up well to abuse, and are pretty cheap to fix.…

So, this Carbon Motors (http://www.carbonmotors.com/) E7 police vehicle is supposed to be built from the "ground up" as a completely new vehicle. So, why doe it look so much like a Chrysler 300?? It almost looks like they got plans for the next, slightly more aerodynamic, 300? Source: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/09/carbon-...-e7-police-car/

So this is probably not newsworthy at all if you live up North, but it most certainly is if you're in Houston, Texas. I'm wholeheartedly enjoying a nice, steady snow shower right now. Let's just say that this is very, very rare here.

We have a Dog Bar in our neighborhood and they we're offering a $100 bar tab to the best dressed dog (owner, or course) For those of you that are not familiar with a dog bar, it's exactly what it sounds like. A bar, usually mostly outside but sometimes with a small inside area, where you can take you dogs and watch them play while you socialize and have a drink. It's tons of fun, if you're a dog person but don't wear nice clothes on a normal night We dressed our two dogs up and went with a couple of other people that dressed their dogs up. (This is a REAL dog friendly community) Max, our jack russell, dachshund, chihuahua mix, was a rockstar: Obviously, he w…

Well, I'll give you the drama, drama version of it.... Many of you remember back in 2005 when I totaled my first Focus. I was sitting in the road and an 18 wheeler doing 45MPH hit me in the rear. I walked away with sore muscles and not much else. Today, the GF and I were carpooling to school. Luckily, I decided to wait for her and just ride with her instead of taking my own car. We get 300 yards from the entrance to school and BANG!!!! I had a bunch of books that I was going to sell back to the bookstore for cash. I sat them on the airbag on the dash and joked (as I have many times with various things) that if the airbag deployed, I'd be toast. Today we were sitting…

Not those balls, pervs. I'm talking sports, as in I'm in a funk because there are no worthwhile sports this time of year. The NFL is a bunch of whiny, overpayed jackasses, and the games aren't really that exciting. College football is dead to me since Mizzou cant seem to beat a halfway decent team. The NBA is worthless, the only good part of the game is the last two minutes, since just about every game is close, but then there are timeouts after every play. I cant watch a basketball game when it goes to commercial every thirty seconds. College basketball doesn't interest me because all the best players are already in the NBA, plus neither Mizzou nor Missouri State i…

Just a look back at distinctly American luxury in 1960. People the world over aspired to these cars. Some of their options are just now becoming mainstream. Here's the Cadillac, Imperial and Lincoln.
