It wasn't uploaded by me but.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZk_VVXaKQE To me, it looks the same old, same old s*** that Hyundai has been making. Just to translate, the last words that that is spoken in Korean saids "Evolution beyond change, Sonata, Transform". Lame line but oh well.... Aside from the uglier grill, larger projector headlamps, and the new interior, I don't think it looks much different, it won't be easy to tell the difference if we were to see the 09 on the street. Still, ugly as sh**, but …

  3. The Hyundai Elantra is one of the highest rated vehicles in it's class for MPG, with the car receiving an EPA rating of 29 City/40 Highway. But many people can't seem to match the EPA rating and that has caused a consumer group to take action. Consumer advocacy group Consumer Watchdog announced this week that it will be urging the EPA to re-test the Elantra due to complaints from consumers about the MPG. “The Elantra has attracted an unusual number of consumer complaints about real-world mpg averaging in the mid-20s, far from Hyundai’s stated average of 33,” said Consumer Watchdog in a statement. Hyundai rates the Elantra at 33 MPG combined. However, reviewers and peop…

Such details as a large grille, slim headlights, bold character line, and sloping roofline are apparent here. "The All-new Elantra captures the car’s unique design characteristics that really place this model in a class of its own. The subtle and innovative appearance enhancements reflect Hyundai Motor’s vision for design. Furthermore, this car indicates a move from traditional to modern styling by communicating the new model’s comfort, fashion and sporty feel,” said Hyundai President and Ch…

Speaking with Australia's Drive, the Head of N Albert Biermann revealed there are plans for to build N variants of the next-generation Veloster, B-Segment car, and even a crossover. We started with the [i30] C segment and the Fastback [coupe] will follow and we are already working on some other concepts for the B segment [Accent] and SUV also. The model will be aimed at the likes of the Audi SQ5 and produce around 340 horsepower. 0-60 mph is said to take under six seconds. 9. William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com April 13, 2012 Hyundai could reach 700,000 vehicles sold by the end of the year, despite tight vehicle supplies due to Hyundai's cap on global production. Hyundai Chairman Chung Mong-koo has been on crusade for better quality vehicles. One of his moves to improve it was to put a cap on production. On one hand, that's a good move to have better quality. On the other hand, Hyundai is “literally selling cars off the transporters” to meet demand. In early March, Hyundai had 55,000 vehicles in dealer inventory. "What (Chung) wants to do is assure we're all focused on quality." said Hyundai’s North American operations, Joh…

  11. Hyundai finally decided to spill the beans on the 2018 Accent for the U.S. by debuting it yesterday at the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim, California. Let's get to the most important news for the U.S.; the 2018 Accent will only be available as a sedan. Everywhere else will get a hatchback variant. Boo! Everything else pretty much is the same as our report when the Accent debuted at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto. The 2018 Accent is more upscale in its design with a larger grille, new headlights, optional 17-inch alloy wheels, and rear-end styling borrowed from the Elantra. The interior is nothing too special to look…

  14. With all the news surrounding Tesla fighters, it seems we have forgotten about the competitors to the Toyota Prius. But luckily Hyundai has been working on such a vehicle to take on the Prius. A fresh set of spy shots have come in of their Prius fighter this week. Now the shots show Hyundai taking some design ideas from the current Prius in terms of exterior styling. We also have the first shots of the interior which boasts a different gauge cluster complete with Eco/Power gauge. That first model will be a midsize crossover called the Ioniq 5. Based on the 45 Concept first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the 5 follows a different beat in terms of design from other Hyundai models with sharp lines and corners, narrow grille, and a interior that is very minimalist. Spy shots from earlier in the year showed that Hyundai is planning to make this into a production model, likely using an electric powertrain. Next up is the 6 which again will base its design on another Hyun…

TCC Test: 2007 Hyundai Accent We can recall the days when cheap cars felt all of their description. This opinion is now obsolete thanks to the thoroughly modern and competitive offerings like the Accent SE, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, and others. Hyundai takes it a step further: to quell concerns about quality and reliability, it backs the Accent with a five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty plus a ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Since being exposed on a regular basis to Hyundai cars, something has come to light. The bumper covers are very thin plastic. Where the bumper cover attaches to the car there is a flange with holes that snap into a plastic bracket that is bolted to the fenders and quarter panels. The bumper cover comes to a point in that area... and an automatic car wash tends to grab hold of that point and break the bumper cover away from the car at the thin flange. It is a very common problem, I'm finding... including my cousin's Accent. I saw her over Xmas, and hers is broken. She thought she was responsible for hitting something, but I knew right away what happened. And they ca…

Hyundai's House of Pain David Kiley | Link to Original Article @ BusinessWeek Hyundai is definitely a brand with growing pains. The Korean company has taken a hard, and embarrassing step in idling its Alabama assembly plant an additional week. The truth is that the company has been parking cars on the fence at the factory all year long. That means they have been building thousands of cars at a time with no dealer orders for them. Hyundai makes the Sonata sedan and Santa Fe crossover at the plant. The Sonata is most of the problem. A very good car, in my opinion. I know this is just an artist's rendering, but every other mainstream midsize sedan maker needs to watch their back if the next gen Hyundai Sonata turns out to look anything similar to these renderings. A Hyundai midsize sedan that looks like this would surely steal sales away from the Camry/Accord/Altima segment mainstays. I would possibly consider buying one if it turns out to look like this (and I am definitely not a big Hyundai fan). Visit My Website Source: GlobalMotors.net P.S. The accompanying article is from December. For some reason, I didn't see these renderings until today. If these renderings are old news, then I apologize.

If you're wondering about the name, it is a mashup of "ion" and "unique". The Ioniq's exterior is largely diticated on aerodynamic effiency. The shape is very familar to the likes of the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Volt. But Hyundai says the design gives the Ioniq e a drag coefficient of just 0.24. 55. Hyundai and Kia find in themselves in a bit of legal trouble. Last week, the law firm Hagens Berman filed a class-action lawsuit against the Korean automakers over an alleged defect on two engines; the 2.4L four-cylinder and turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder from the Theta II family. The defect in question is a flaw in the engine design that “restricts or blocks oil flow to the engine’s moving parts, such as connecting rod bearings, prematurely wearing out those parts to the point that the engine parts seize, which stops engine operation while running. Engine seizure often causes internal parts, such as the connecting rods, to break and knock a hole in the engine, per…

But thanks to some magic from Photoshop, we have a good idea of what it will look like. The front end comes with Hyundai's new grille that made its debut on the Sonata and a similar headlight arrangement like the Jeep Cherokee. There is also a little slit above the grille. Other design details on the Kona include black body cladding, significant sculpting on the doors, and a partly blacked-out rear pillar. Oge didn't divulge the VP or the automaker. Automotive News then contacted Chrysler, Ford, and G…
