Went to pick up my new vehicle on the evening of March 15th. Was greeted by my saleskid as I got my last few things out of the truck. Was cheerfully handed the key to the car as he went inside to ready the final paperwork. So I went to open it up... transmitter wouldn't unlock car. Key wouldn't unlock lock cylinder in door. (Dealership has two locations, my car came from their other store 15 miles north). Turns out, wrong spare key was sent along, so key had to be ordered from FoMoCo. No big deal. I've had my heart set on using a GMPP Ram Jet 350, but lately I've noticed that low-mile Vortec 8100 truck engines are pretty cheap for the HP and TQ they make.

So in the same vein of the displacement threads, I thought this would be a fun take on it. We'll use a broader displacement range, but limit choices to vehicles that use forced induction. Someone around here must be more "into" pop culture than me and maybe can provide me with some help... I have noticed especially with track/wind breaker style jackets and even in fashion in general it seems alot of people are either wearing "older" clothes like from Good Will or buying new "old" style clothing. We're going on vacation here again (second time in 3 or 4 years) and I'm just curious of the places you guys have seen and liked. We stayed in Wilmington, NC last time and that's a great place. I won't say I never do it. Sometimes my "soft spot" gets affected and I will throw the remaining change or that rare dollar bill into the jar when I go up to the counter at a Starbucks or a pizza place. I got bad news last night (phone calls after 9pm are never good) that my older brother had died at age 72. We had been estranged for years, esp. after our mother's death almost 6 years ago. He had a lot of issues in life, but I have to try and look at the positives--he got me into model cars 40+ years ago and got me into '60s rock music, Mustangs and '60s muscle cars. He could be a really unpleasant and difficult individual, but was still family. Well to make a long story short, two years ago I had a transmission fluid flush done on the Riviera at around 85K miles. At the time there was nothing "wrong" with it, I just wanted to treat my car to a bit of preventative care. Well I soon came to find that my decision to prevent possible transmission problems down the road was actually the cause of them. I signed up for an environmental class that dealt with environmental planning and stuff along those lines. I originally took it because it actually sounded kind of interesting and I was genuinely interested in the subject, but I dropped it like a yesterday's news, mostly because I realized I was taking too many credits (18) along with having an independent project and going to work about 15 hours a week. The color helps a lot, and the short, squat look of the regular cab shortbed means it shouldn't be too much of a bear to live with. With the 4.8L it should get decent mileage.
