Dealers will offer: Exhaust Packages Cold Air Packages Cams Headers Rims DOT Drag Radials I just hope they inclued the non GM aftermarket early in the cars development as it will be the key with winning the low cost performance car title back from the Mustang. This all falls in line with similar offerings from Pontiac SPO parts for the Solstice. I would expect the Camaro will have much more to offer and I hope some of of what GM offers will include the V6 engine packages too. In the same story they did offer some more info on…

  7. When I just read the specs on the Turbo Ecotec for the solstice it got me thinking since this motor is probally gonna take over the S/C in the High Preformance it got me wondering when will the engine take over and when what improvements will be made to the car to compensate for age and the preformance gap between a 2.4 and a 2.0 turbo. I figure the Cobalt will get this engine in 2008 then again 2007 is a possibility but I think Chevy will wait 4 years so they can give the Cobalt a refresh. Will the Ecotec line stay the same? Will the 2.2 and 2.4 ecotec still have the same power as they have now when the vehicle is refreshed. How will DI technology coming to the ecotec…

Yesterday on my way home from work, I work 3rds by the way at the Tech center. I passed an 07 Tahoe that was already smashed! It looked like to me somebody had hit something over the holiday weekend(maybe a deer?). The driver side of the vehicle was a mess! The complete headlight assembly was missing and the fender was torn open like a can, the grille was hanging somewhat but was still on the vehicle. Oops! I hope somebody didn't lose their job over this.

This thread that had a bunch of rumors in it, one of which was a Camaro with a V8 under $22,000, got me thinking: Why not put a V8 in the base Camaro? It'd be great for advertising, and would basically compete with Ford's V6 Mustang. Even if it didn't have 300HP, it'd still be better than the Mustang's 210HP V6. What about fuel mileage you say? If GM does a Gen IV 4800 with DOD, I'm guessing it'd get pretty good mileage. The 5.3L LS4 with DOD in the Impala gets 18MPG city and 28 MPG highway, and weighs 3700lbs. The difference in weight should be enough to give the Camaro a bump of 1-2 MPG alone, and the 4800 should get better mileage t…

Did anyone else see it? There is a Tundra parked on the side of the road. A guy driving a Silverado pulls up and asks the owner if he needs a ride. Now, for a split second I was expecting and hoping that the reason for the Tundra being on the side of the road was a snapped camshaft. While it was disappointing that this was not the case, it was also AWESOME that the reason was the Tundra RAN OUT OF GAS. The commercial then went on to illustrate the same regarding the Ford F-150. FINALLY. This is the kind of advertising GM needs. Tell people why GM's trucks are better than Toyota's.

Will the trucks also share it as well...or will it be different? I want them shown already!

Saw this in the locked thread and just wanted to clarify since my name was brought up. The bulk of vehicle platform work on Camaro is being done in Australia right now, but there is still work - design, powertrain, etc., etc., being done here in NA. There are no secret Australian programs. It would be silly for GM to even work that way. Are there a bunch of Camaros running around down under? Probably not. Just guessing, but they may be at the point where mules are finally being built. And when I say mules, I don't mean real Camaros. I mean validation work being done on donor VE Commodores (or whatever), for example.

Engines: It is unclear whether both Chevy Zeta's will share the same engine lineup, but three engines will be offered in all. The 3.5L V6 (perhaps as a fleet engine for the Impala?), 3.6L V6, and 6.2L V8. At this time, there is nothing else planned (for the first model year at least). 18 inch wheels appear to be standard, while 19s and 20s (20s being available in 2 different widths) will be optional. Most likely, the 20s will be standard on the 6.2L model, so that a staggered setup can be run. Putting the power to the ground will be 275 series tires. And I think that's eno…

He also went on to mention stuff about the impala next year getting AFM (this we already knew) he also mentioned that it was sent to austrailia (like we already knew) so that it would stay out of the limelight...

Rumors from GMI said a regular cab SS with almost 400hp would become available sometime in 2006. Does anyone have any information that will confirm or deny those rumors. Have not seen anything lately, just wondering if anyone might have some good info about this. Thanks

First, I don't.. I repeat.. DON'T want you guys saying the Camaro isn't coming. Haters, leave or don't comment. Now let's start some speculation! What do you expect to see at NAIAS, if, indeed, a Camaro concept is shown. Remember, it will be a CONCEPT, not a complete production model. Oh, and if you disagree with someone, that's okay. This is only personal speculation/hopes. My Speculation: Design: Front end will have one of two designs. One, quad headlights with a lower grille like the 4th Gen. Two, something like Horton's. Rear design will definitely have LEDs and the taillights will either be quad round ones or a panel lik…

Okay, I'm borrowing the topic from the Bu.... "The Fusion was a sales dog for a couple years till they rounded the nose a little and upgraded the interior. The wheels have made the greatest impact" Hyperv6 brought up a very good point there. Even the Fusion base model lacks wheel covers. This even makes the basic buyer feel good about how their car looks. Hence, my worrysome issue. I've peeked at other chevy sites where the Cruze is available, an saw something that saddens me: real dorky wheel covers on the base model. My gut tells me that it will be the same way here. Not good. I'm the kinda guy who likes their cars simple. A nice set of wheels and a sunroof is prett…

  75. 2014 Chevrolet SS: A Sleeper Really Wakes up on the Track Written by: Elana Scherr on May 1 2014 4:32 PM Driving the 2014 Chevrolet SS is like meeting some boring middle manager for a lunch date and finding out they take part in those strong man competitions where flabby-looking men and women lift tree trunks over their heads and pull city buses with ropes of their own hair. Its performance far exceeds the mild promises of its exterior. Of course, when I was offered the chance to try out the SS on track at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California, I should have been prepared for its tire-smoking, corner-chomping abilities. HRM staffer Brandan Gillogly…

Ok here is the deal. The wife and I are in the market for an 07 Burb.... I'd LOVE to wait for the 6-speed, but we both REALLY want to get a new truck. Our Grand Cherokee is NOT CUTTING IT ANY MORE LOL. I'm looking to see if any one knows "when" it's (the 6-speed) gonna hit the Chevys and not just the "up scale" Denali and slade!!! You'd think they'd put them into the LTZ also. I can't see them not being able to get trannies for some of the suburbans and Tahoes. I've heard 08 (as in Jan 08), but I can't believe it's gonna take that long to get them into the trucks.

Suburban Longterm Update(autoweek) The best part is if you scroll down to the update on the Lexus ls 460 Lexus LS 460L The door panels are starting to creak while accelerating or braking; we thought Lexus’ flagship would stay tighter longer than 13,000 miles. It’s still smooth as silk otherwise. So much for all those Master Craftsmen

  80. On January 24, 2013 Bob Maguire Chevrolet in Bordentown, NJ (Burlington County) posted a sign on their dealership's main door that they were closed for good. After 35 years of being in business, plus being one of the first Saturn dealer frnachises in the country and once having the largest GM parts warehouse on the East Coast, they closed suddenly with no advanced knowledge to their customers (many of whom had service appointments that day). Last weekend I drove by Classic Chevrolet in Moorestown, NJ (also Burlington County). Their lot was empty, with a ring of used cars surrounding the perimeter fence in the back of the dealership. Again, no advanced notice to custom…

I'll just say what I heard as a rumor: From what I've seen or heard, they're aiming for 0-60 in less than 2.5 seconds. And they've beat it, by a bit. They're aiming for over 200 MPH. And they've done it. (Well, duh.. the Z06 goes like 197 doesn't it?) Something special happens around 140 MPH and around 190 MPH It'll cost around a hundred grand in US dollars (which was pretty much already known) They want to beat the best in the world for less than a quarter of a cost. And, from how it sounds, they will. And that's all I've got to say about that :AH-HA_wink:

We've just learned that EMO TRANS, the shipping company that was hired by General Motors to transport a Corvette SS mule to Germany for testing on the Nurburgring, has fired the employee who took pictures of the vehicle and posted them on the internet. In addition, the unnamed employee has been taken to jail, though we don't know what charges have been filed against him. This clearly illustrates how seriously GM is taking the development of the Corvette SS, as well as h…

I figured It would be limited as already stated by Al Oppenhiser. As it will have a LS3. I had hoped for the Gen V but I expect that it will be seen in a later model or a Alpha based replacment at some point. GM will need all the new Gen V they can get at start up for the trucks anyways. Also I am not sure if the Gen V is ready for the global market yet. Any ways here is a little of what was stated. Okay, so my manager and the owner of the dealership just got back from the Vegas show. They didn't get …

  84. Link to Article Superior Glass Works to sell 54 Sports Wagon based on C5 Corvette About two years ago, there was a nasty rumor that Ford was developing sedan and wagon variants of (gasp!) the Mustang. Torches were lit and pitchfork futures soared until Ford totally debunked the rumor. But 55 years ago, something similar took place at the 1954 Motorama in New York when Chevrolet displayed a Corvette-based wagon called the Nomad. The difference in the two stories, according to at least one Web site, is that the public absolutely loved the show car's styling. Smelling opportunity, GM management rushed the Nomad into production without even one trace of Corvette styling…

I was checking out GM's photo gallery of the 2013 Sonic RS, and lo and behold... it says "FLOWMASTER" on the exhaust tips. How cool izzat, I ask you? Available in Victory Red, Summit White, Cyber Gray or Black Granite, with a lowered suspension and lower gearing with the 1.4t engine, plus some sporty trim in addition to the Flowmaster setup, this thing should be a HOOT. Wish it came in Blue Topaz.

On the 11th apparantly a new version of the T2X concept debuted. I first saw it on GMTV and took a print screen of it, and I was only able to find one other pic of it. Anyways, here is the old T2X that debuted back in April: And here is the "evolved" one: Here is the only other pic I could find of the new one: Obviously there must be a bigger version of the last one I posted, but I couldn't find any. Regardless, I think the new Chevy grill inserted into the old black space makes it look a lot better, and I really think GM could do good producing something like it.

Tahoe puts rush on GM's SUVs March 15, 2006 BY MICHAEL ELLIS FREE PRESS BUSINESS WRITER Some declared the SUV market dead when gas prices topped $3 a gallon last year, and said General Motors Corp. was foolish to invest billions in a lineup of new large SUVs. But sales of the new Chevrolet Tahoe are so strong that GM is now trying to speed up the launch of several other SUVs and ship them to dealerships two to four weeks ahead of schedule, Mary Sipes, GM's vehicle line director for large trucks, said Tuesday. The Tahoe -- with better fuel economy and added features -- has been on sale only since early January, but sales are up 49.8% from January and February last ye…

  97. 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS In its own way, it’s subtler. by Conor Twomey (2006-03-13) If there's one thing the TrailBlazer wasn't crying out for it was more power. A new interior, maybe… but not more power! To my mind, the 300-hp, 5300 Vortec V-8 offers about as much performance as the TrailBlazer really needs for the daily school run, but that didn't stop Chevrolet from slotting the Corvette's LS2 V-8 into its engine bay and beefing up the looks and suspension to match. The resulting vehicle is called the TrailBlazer SS, although confusingly, it's sold as a package on LS or LT short-wheelbase models with 2WD or 4WD, rather than being a model it its own right. G…

2007 Chevrolet Tahoe A most impressive full-size effort. by Eric Peters (2006-01-02) There's a lot riding on the '07 Tahoe-much more than just a new body and revised chassis. GM badly needs for its popular full-size SUV (and its shared platform stablemates, the new '07 Caddy Escalade, GMC Yukon and the long-wheelbase Suburban) to hold the line against the burgeoning onslaught of large SUVs from Nissan (Armada) and Toyota (the coming '07 Tundra/Sequoia), some of which have already made significant incursions into territory that used to be the exclusive domain of U.S. automakers. GM can't afford to lose any more market share - most espe…
