Jiri Fischer Of The Wings Has Collapsed

On live TV. They say either he took a puck or a stick to the throat. He collapsed while on the bench exiting the ice, shortly after the Wings instantly called for a medic and C.P.R. began. Lets hope this is not as bad as it looks on T.V.

The first electrical appliance turns 100 years old November 16, 2005 It came after the electric light and before radio, television, microwave ovens, blenders, juicers, computers - indeed, it was the first electrical appliance to populate the home and one of only a handful of devices in history to achieve ubiquity in advanced nations. Interestingly, although it turns 100 years old this year, it can still be found in more than 90% of American homes. As the first electrical appliance, this also means we are now celebrating 100 years of electrical appliances. Oh, and by the way, can you guess what it is? Now toast is not new, first having become common about 5,000 years…

Okay, so here's what happened today. During one of my preps, this woman brought up how much she HATED her car and would never buy another American car as long as she lived. She has a 2001 Alero, and has had nothing but problems (power window motors burning out of the rarely used back windows, power door locks burning out, radio malfunctions, etc.) The topic in the conference room just became what to buy, what would you get, blah blah blah. This is basically what the poll came out to just by hearing people's responses: What they said, "Most reliable to least reliable" 1) Japanese cars 2) German cars 3) Korean cars 4) American cars So, I interjected…

There's just no words.... I remember in my Integra days, when the stock wheels were all stolen and the car was left on bricks. Or when it was broken into downtown to steal some BS beat-up leather jacket (and a few of my mixtapes, which really hurt). Then after 4 years, when the car itself was stolen (with my backpack inside of it, which had my favorite sketchbook and a notebook full of ideas)...the two times that sandwiched the break-in had me angry that I couldn't hear a thing. Can't forget how the Pontiac was busted into for a crappy aftermarket stereo. I didn't care about the stereo, but did they have to tear my dash panel up? That's a rare &#…

So the other day while at a junkyard I notice a mid 70s Datsun pickup sitting there, sinking into the mud slowly but surely. And I noticed the old school obnoxious Datsun emblem was still attached to the frail plastic grille. Well, I've been waiting to find a big Datsun emblem so I could replace the NISSAN badge on the grill of the Maxima so this was the day. Check out the results below. Also, in another thread recently I said I'd post the pictures of the custom cut vinyl decals I affixed to the Datsun. Here they are... Clockwise from top left: Just below the passanger side headlight, driver's side fender & trunklid. Yes it's ric…

Hey guys, long time no post, but I was reading this article and wanted to share it. I know how some people on here like to talk and a lot of the time its pretty enlightening stuff. But my upbringing was pretty politically oriented in the sense that stubborn Irish Catholics love to fight with eachother over anything after a few rounds, and in Massachusetts its usually politics. But Bobby Kennedy wasn't even a Massachusetts liberal, he was pretty much the first and the last of an age of reform in the sense that he was supposed to start a revolution, or atleast be the first of a new line of leaders as visionary as he was. He was before my time, but I think we all want a …

I've been an advocate of RWD my whole life, but the upcoming Monte Carlo SS, I gotta admit, has me dreaming. My latest scheme is this... How about a white one with Ebony cloth interior (too bad there's no blue) and I'd add blue tape stripes around the bottom exactly like the '83 (except for the lettering)? For some odd reason I'd love to see what that would look like. Does that sound 80's retro cool or hopelessly tacky? Don't hold back, tell me what you really think, and while we're at it, are there any other new cars you'd like to see with retro graphics treatments? How about an '06 Mustang "King Cobra" taped out l…

I rented a couple of movies last night from the everloving Blockbuster. One of them was The Incredibles. It was my first time seeing it, what a fun, action packed story! I love it. I also asked for the earlier version of Crash, with one of the Arquette sisters (no, not Alexis, ha) and I think James Spader and a fine Lincoln Continental convertible... unfortunately, they don't carry it... why was I not surprised. Has anyone seen any good movies lately, either first-run or home video?

Because the weather is so mild here this time of year, we're getting more and more idiots in these big RVs down here clogging the left lanes and taking up eight spaces at the mall. The Dodge Rampage This K-car based POS like several other useles "Car based Trucks" are still cooler and more innovative than the hideously ugly Ridgeline. Hmm... looks stock to me. :P Call me crazy but even though the Rampage was a K-car I thought it was a pretty cool looking ride. Chalk it up to me being a child of the 1980s and having one of these in my Hot Wheels collection:

It's another year, winding down. A bright spot will be the big auto shows of course, and maybe a nice blanket of snow to go 4 wheeling in, otherwise, I am already looking forward to spring. Describe it's overall shape and its interior and the color you would choose for both the inside and outside of the car. Which bodystyle would you choose. Feel free to invent body styles that still do not exist. And of course, how much chrome would you like on your car, and where?

Well Direct TV just put XM on the music channels. I actually use them often through the sterio. So anybody have any favorites ? Im only assuming they are titled the same nationally. Ive been listening to Deep Tracks thats been playing some stuff I forgot all about. Right now Pink Floyd from a BBC recording in 1970, wow, I think Im having a flashback. In the early 70's I used to listen to this station that came out of RPI college in Troy NY, those college students always played this more progressive non commercial music and thats what its like listening to this now. It was like the underground back then.

Lets face it the latest cars out of GM are light years better than what it had been producing for the last twenty years. Look at the new Caddy's and the new Vette not to mention the SSR and the new SUV's and I think the company should be renamed to pay tribute where it is due. On this forum the new name for GM should be... LUTZWAGON!!!!! Can i get an amen brothers and sisters. :metal:

There's a ton of Impalas on the road....of course it helps that there is a pretty sizable rental fleet of them too, but plenty of them are being bought as well...expect dub rims on a lot of them by January. I have a feeling the 3LT with the 17" split-star wheels will be the most popular seller, because it simply looks good stock. As far as the Civic, the coupe seems to be appearing three times as much as the sedan so far. Over at FoMoCo, I've seen three times as many Zephyrs as Fusions....and not one Milan yet. The Zephyr might be a bigger hit than we thought. Quite a few Range Rover Sports (an SUV I like) as well. The Charger's doing great...just l…

clicky This isn't a bad article on the subject. It looks at the BIG picture (inproved fuel economy vs cost of buying a hybrid). If mathematics causes your brain to lock-up, you'd be best to skip the article. The quick and dirty summary: Gas-electric hybrids are the most fuel-efficient passenger cars on the road and ecologically there isn't a more viable option. Until something big changes, though, the industry-high efficiency can't economically offset the steep sticker price.

Motoring Memories: Buick Wildcat, 1962-1970 Story and photo by Bill Vance Buick was long known as a somewhat conservative car, the type favoured by people like doctors and bank mangers. It used overhead valve straight-eight engines exclusively from 1931 to 1952 (its overhead valve V8 came in 1953), and carried an image of muted prestige - more than an Oldsmobile, but not quite the ostentation of a Cadillac. Occasionally however, there was a stepping out of character, and into the performance arena. Examples were the 1936 Century, named for its 161 km/h (100 mph) top speed, and the audacious, turbocharged 1982 Grand National. Another was the Wildcat, an unex…

I went to a screening of this movie last week. I know most people are going to dismiss it as the "gay cowboy movie", and if you can't get past one short sex scene (which doesn't show anything), you won't like it- but Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway have nude scenes (and are quite fine), so it's something for everyone. This is a movie that makes me glad that I still on occasion work with actors. Everyone involved gives incredible performances. I never thought I'd say this, but Heath Ledger should get an Oscar. It's a great movie.

It had to be a late model last-gen car because it had the polished, non-5 spoke rims on it. It really hit home for me, seeing this car, that Pontiac should have offered a six cylinder alternative available on the GTO body shell, called it a LeMans or Tempest, and watched the sales come in much better than the $32k V8 Goat. I firmly believe that a six cylinder model would have ensured the GTO's success, and there would have been no question there'd be a modern gen II car.

In this week's Autoweek "Driver's Log", they tested an '06 Civic Si and an '06 Charger 3.5L SE. As tested fuel mileage, Civic: 17.79 mpg As tested fuel mileage, Charger: 23.7 mpg Now I know they had to rev the piss out of the Civic to get it moving, but this is ridiculous. You know these guys leadfooted the Dodge as well, which makes these results all the more hilarious.

If you could have a custom member title... what would yours be? Lately, this has been on my mind. Don't know why, but it has. Since I've been doing more personal things than Pontiac things... evidenced by my avatar. Well, I kind of think something along the lines of "The Sarcasm King" or "The King of Sarcasm" would fit me perfectly. I mean, I rarely leave it out of any of my posts. Don't know why, but I do. I guess it's just me. :P If I wanted to get funky... I could go with "Sarcasm is my Orgasm" :D *Disclaimer* I imply nothing.

Hey guys! My dad just got an '06 Silverado and is already planning on a new dual exhaust system. One day we were waching "Powerblock TV" on Spike and Stacey was tuning some truck and was showcaising a little gadget that you could "up" the hp of the engine if you were towing or you could lower hp and save gas mileage...... anyone know of this device, where it could be found or any other suggestions for engine management tuning? Thanks! here's the subject that will be used :)

I've been following this a lot more recently and many medical professionals are voicing serious concerns that this flu epidemic isn't something we should take lightly. Some are estimating that as many as 300 million people could die and the flu could spread across the entire globe in a matter of weeks due to air travel. Here's a post I found on another message board: Here's a map of where the current flu outbreaks are. It's now starting to spread into Eastern Europe and I just read a report of an infected flamingo found in Kuwait, the first case of the virus in the Arabian Peninsula. I truly hope this ends up like SARS where we got all worried but it was …

Someone sent this to me in an email, and I have to say that this plane is hot: Photos of The First F/A-22 Delivered to Langley AFB These are photos of the F/A-22 (Raptor) as the first aircraft delivery was being made to Langley AFB in VA. Langley is to be first operational AFB for the F/A-22. The Aircraft flying along with the F/A-22 in several of these photos is the F-15D, which will be replaced by the F/A-22 since testing by the USAF has verified predictions that the F/A-22 would be several times better than the F-15. In actual in-flight (simulated combat) operations against the F-15, one F/A-22 was able to operate without detection while it went head t…

I've decide to just start another thread about this. Anyways, I posted a much clearer story about what has happened over the GAOC. I'm just going to link to that the thread over there. http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthre...&threadid=50583 So guys... what should I do? Is this a calling for me to replace it or is it worth fixing? I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm out of a car as it stands, now, and with out one I don't have transportation to get a job so I can afford a nice car. I... just don't know. :(

Didn't want to throw this into the GM Merchandise forum, since these arent readily available. But, since I was cleaning up around here and found these I thought I'd snap a couple pics and throw 'em up. I mentioned these to Cort last week. Got these in fall of '84 when the '85s came out. These were the ones on the wall at the Chevy dealer. They are fairly thick cardboard. Wanted the Vette and Camaro ones, but a salesman snagged them. So I ended up with a bunch, but these are the only two I have left. I had Chevette, Citation X-11, Astro, and Silverado ones (those that I can remember anyway). Funny part was that in '89, I bought an '85 Eurosport like this one exce…

I just got off the phone with our bigggest Client and it turns out I'll be driving to Southern New Jesrey for "business" on Friday. I'll pobably be in Jersey most of the day Friday as it just so happens that Turqioise '59 Buick LeSabre Flat top is located there. I might be able to justify visiting Penn if some of you (Ocnblu, Black&BlueLandscaper, Camino, BV.... etc.) are willing to guide me to a good burger joint or whatever where we co…

In an effort to get my friend drunk the other night, therefore making it easier for me to smack her ass without getting punched, I introduced her to a drinking game I played several years ago. I popped in The Land Before Time and told her to take a shot anytime they said Littlefoot or The Great Vally. She passed out in half an hour.

This past weekend, I finally test drove a 2006 Dodge Charger. I was rather impressed, so now, I'm not sure what I'm going to do ... ...keep driving the '87 MC LS year round (or) ...purchase a "winter beater" ... '86-'88 MC LS (or) '87ish Caprice Classic (or) '87ish Oldsmobile Cutlass that already has rust (or) ...purchase a '04 Chevrolet Classic (old malibu) (or) '06 Chevrolet impala (or) '06 Dodge Charger ... to take on winter & trip duties.... Course...I also wouldn't mind having a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic convertible...he he he. Throw in wanting to purchase a laptop computer and a few othe…

Tonight is the night that is election night in your town. In Detroit, the major story is Kwame Kilpatrick vs. Freeman Hendrex for mayor of Detroit. As it looks right now, Freeman will be the NEW mayor of Detroit, something I sincerely hope happens. Thoughts and what not on local elections in your town?

I've heard many good things about this movie from movie friends of mine that have gotten to see a sneak preview. Johnnie Cash is a legend of music and always will be, no matter what type of music you chose to listen to. Will you be seeing this movie? I just picked up his "greatest hits" CD today and I must say, it's damn good. Got the new Kenny Chesney CD today too. There's the country in me coming out.

Well I am sort of considering getting a 1999 or 2000 STS. My question is are there any Northstar performance parts out there? This engine seems perfect for modding and I am surprised there arent more parts out there. Anyone know where i might find some parts? Thanks

Why is everybody ending their sentences with this phrase?? I've heard it three times today from three different people and it's getting to the point where it's just downright annoying. Was it on some movie or TV show that I missed? I hadn't heard anyone use it until about a month and a half ago, and now it's infested itself into the campus lingo like a virus. Here's some examples of its usage: Amanda: "Yeah, I took my physics test today and did pretty bad...I'm not gonna lie." Bob: "Yeah, this dining food sucks today...I'm not gonna lie." Why?

It's like: "I went for a ride in my Classic Cadillac today..." {oh, what do you have? waht year & model?} "It's a 1947 Cadillac Scoville and Sayers hearse..." {blank stare} I think these are the "Suicide Girls" posing wiht it, I saw an HBO special on them once. I'm very excited for the holiday season this year. I'm set to go. To start, Halloween wasn't bad, but the rest will be amazing. November 1st is when one of the radio stations around here (100.3 WNIC) starts playing Christmas music. Well, I already went out a few times and listened to it on random cruises to here and from there. It's so cheery. Then Thanksgiving should be great fun. Turkey and all the veggies and stuff I can (and can't) handle. Plus, I get like 3 days off school that week. Christmas break is going to be sweet as hell because it's like one of my biggest breaks this year (and almost as long as my summer break because I start at Ke…

Ok, the reverse lights on my Crapalier don't work. And since they are BOTH out, chances are its not a light bulb issue, so that leads to electrical. I don't think the fuse is blown as the fuse I pulled that was marked for reverse lamps was also powering something else that DID work. It was suggested by Valvoline mechanic that it may be something in the shifter lever, as I drive a manual. Anyone have any idea? I'm not TOO worried about it, as I live in the city and the streets and parking lots are lit fairly well, but I'd like to get this fixed because I don't like to have anything on my car NOT working.

I, too, am again considering selling my 300EX (ATV) and my GA for another car. I still don't know why, either. It's almost like it doesn't satisfy me anymore, but I mean, I do love it as I've said so many times. I just don't know what to do... Anyways, this thread is just to get some suggestion IF I do decide I want to replace it. Please, no mention of a Fiero. It'll depress me. Also, I'm looking at being able to afford anything up to $4000 or $5000. Again, that's about the limit. It might even be less than that if I can't get as much as I think I can out of my vehicles... -The first idea I've had is a 95 or 96 Satu…

My father's Bonneville is getting up in miles (98k and change) and my car is as well, but mine is almost a decade old while his is a little over five. The reason for the near 20,000mi/yr average for his car is that his job requires that he drive anywhere between 40 and 100 miles a day five days a week, sometimes even a bit more. So far, the Bonneville has proved itself an exemplary car with only a broken oil pressure sensor as the only non-accident related problem since the factory warranty expired. We have a 100,000-miles extended warranty through Geico with a rather high deductable to cover most major issues, but obviously that's coming close to the end. So, …

As I mentioned in my "test drive review", I'm working to get my G6 approved now. However, my sister is the only barrier left. She insist that I need to work out the effective interest rates on my payments. I remember I did this stuff back in my engineering economics course, but that was like 2 years ago. Anyone help me out on this?
