At two points in my life, such as between undergrad and grad, I've taken the Myers-Briggs Personality type test. Mine came in both times as ESTJ (that's extrovert - sensing - thinking - judging) It is the classic profile of someone who is traditional, just-the-facts, analyzes everything, and in a management-type job. It is also the personality profile of 16% of the male population. I've seen my chart and I only slightly tilt toward extrovert, as I can be introverted at times. The polar opposite would be INFP (introvert - intuitive - feeling - perceiving) - this type of person would probably drive me nuts and I've had a couple of people of INFP types work for me wh…

Not only that but Buick has niche vehicle yet chevy has the camaro and the corvette. This reminds of Cinderella chevy goes out to the ball and has fun while buick is left to whiter away. Buick can be a great car company again if the stupid bean counters would stop this insane give everything to chevy and then rebadge buick. The typical cars file up to the line and charge from the gate. Then you see a 4,500-lb ’69 Chevy Kingswood 9 passenger wagon lumber up to the line, its massive body dwarfing everything else around. They can’t be serious! What’s that doing here? Before you can contemplate further, it launches down the ¼ mile and thunders across the line a mere 12.41 seconds later, at 111.88 mph. Stunned, you can’t help but think “What the hell just happened??” Well, the explanation is simple. This particular Kings…

  28. Weight gain means lower gas mileage: U.S. study Associated Press CHICAGO -- Want to spend less at the pump? Lose some weight. That's the implication of a new study that says Americans are burning nearly 1 billion more gallons of gasoline each year than they did in 1960 because of their expanding waistlines. Simply put, more weight in the car means lower gas mileage. Using recent gas prices of $2.20 a gallon, that translates to about $2.2 billion more spent on gas each year. "The bottom line is that our hunger for food and our hunger for oil are not independent. There is a relationship between the two," said University of Illinois researcher Sheldon Jacobson, a study c…

Captivated by her grandfather’s 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V, she had considered making the car many times, but shied away due its massive size. “Miles to Empty” brings this longtime dream to reality, a sculpture that is her most ambitious project to date. The work pays homage to her grandfather and hometown while dually reexamining themes inherent to the Motor City like the American obsessions of luxury and convenience. It makes your posts verry difficult to read which increases the liklihood your posts will be skipped over. First things first, the first letter of the first word of a sentence is capitalized, that means it is bigger, i.e. Y as compared to y. At the end of a sentence, place a period or a question mark (looks like this--> ?) if your sentence is a question. Its basic grammar, not too hard most people who aren't from Alabama have been doing it since 2nd grade. Now please, it isn't too hard, so do it.

  65. What are you all doing for Easter (this Sunday)? I leave tomorrow pm to go to Portland to visit my Mom. Will probably spend Saturday driving to the Oregon Coast (about 80 miles to the West and very scenic, but generally c*o*l*d). Then a Sunday morning brunch and onto the plane in the afternoon to come back down. Happy Easter!

Well let's see.... -Red Wings lose, they are down 3-2 in the series. 1 loss from elimination. -Lions *don't* take Matt Leinart in the draft....they draft some dude that's already had like 4-5 concussions. -Pistons are getting ready to lose big to Milwaukee. At least they will be up in the series 2-1 after this loss. ...however the Tigers did win 18-1. I'm pretty sure they haven't won by that margin in...well forever maybe.

So yesterday they went to the auction in Indianapolis, and today a black Z06 is sitting there getting ready for the mechanics to make sure everything's working okay and for one of us to clean up. Well, the mechanics did their stuff today and I think tomorrow we will probably be cleaning it up. I'm hoping they let me just drive it around in the parking lot or something, it'd be a cool experience. If I could have a Z06, it'd definetly be a black one. It looked so badass it wasn't even funny. Seriously, I think it looks more badass than a Viper. All Corvettes are red, but maybe all Z06's are black :AH-HA_wink:

I'm looking at picking up a cheap 1992 sunbird from a relative it has the 2.0 L 4 cylinder I believe. Its up there in miles but had alot of mantenance. It just needs sway bar work up front , new belts, and a tune up. Its had the head gasket replaced a while ago and its done well so far knock on wood, but is it a decent car or is it going to be a money hog? I really want it for fuel efficiencys sake for just around the town driving.

YES bored. Pricing out fullsize, 2WD, shortbed, regular cab base model trucks that are optioned out as nicely and evenly as I could. Big V8s, posi-traction rears, power windows/locks/mirrors and chrome bumper packages across the board. Edmunds' "True Market Value" pricing (typical dealer discount plus rebate) comes out like this: Ram Tradesman: $21,872 in True Blue with stone cloth bench Silverado W/T LS: $23,900 in resurrected Imperial Blue with gray vinyl bench Sierra W/T Plus: $24,042, same colour scheme as Silvy F150 XL Plus: $25,101 in Green Gem with gray cloth bench imo... good grief, the Ram is a screaming deal! Well...I'm mostly mad at myself. Coming home from work today I'm behind this chevy pickup going about 45-50mph. All of a sudden he swerves into the right lane for what seems no reason at all. Then, I see this white explorer stopped waiting to turn left. Since there is a car in the right lane next to me I have no choice but to slam my brakes on hard. Well, I stop fine. Only a few block up the street I'm speeding up to catch the green light. Now, at 60mph. It changes yellow. > Well, I can take this little side road to the left and bypass the light. (This light takes 5-7 minutes to change. Added with getting stopped by other lights ahead, this can add 15 minutes …

I was chatting with a girl I went to school with on Facebook this morning. Last year, she and her husband were looking to replace their Hyundai Elantra. They had been disappointed with the fuel mileage after being fooled by the numbers on the sticker, so I spoke up and recommended the Chevrolet Sonic. They ended up buying an orange Sonic LTZ 1.4t hatch, with sunroof and a manual, after testing it out for themselves. I was telling her about my desire to research a possible replacement for my Patriot, and I asked her for an update on their Chevy. Her husband believes there is a leak in the heater core... I am not sure of the symptoms. The radio stays on sometimes af…

So today I made a trip to my favorite junkyard for the Shadow. I was hoping to find one with a 2.5L so I could see how the vacuum hoses by the throttle body hooked up. here were a few disconnected and I couldn't figure out where they went, and neither could Sixty8. As you may know, I finally replaced the value cover gasket...so there should no longer be any major oil leaks. My first real work on an engine, and it was very rewarding to it myself. Anyway, all they had was a 3.0 V6 Duster, and a 2.5 Spirit, but the Spirit had different vacuum hose routing. With that attempt failed, I decided to wonder around and see what else they had. There was a Mercury Meteor for $1…

This morning my father passed away rather suddenly. He was 64. Last Friday he had a massive heart attack. His heart stopped beating for 21 minutes before the paramedics revived him. Unfortunately, his brain activity was minimal. We pulled the ventilator on Sunday, and he died early this morning. As tragic as this is, its a realization that I should have told him I loved him more. I never got to thank him for instilling in me my love for cars, the outdoors, and life. I also realize that I am now the eldest in the family and the next to go. I realize that grandfatherhood is coming sooner than I would like. I have always felt young, but I realize that its only a …

Who needs fuel injection when you can have a carburettor? If my camera had sound, I could show you more, but alas, it doesn't. Here is some pics to accompany the video. The first one anyways. The second is just a random pic of the road-salt covered Beast. That is what you call a pollution machine. Typed words are nothing when you can see it for yourself. Isn't the black smoke lovely? Leaves the snow looking lovely, as well. In other news, when I started it after to work to let it warm up something odd happened. After 10 minutes when I came back out to check if it was still running (has a habit of randomly stalling), I couldn't tell if it was running, but I…

  84. It doesn't snow here often, and when it does they don't clear the roads. Well, the Buick decided to go one way and I wanted to go another. Unfortunetly the Buick headed towards a dirt wall. I hit it hard enough to crack up the driver's side fender, mess up the bumper and I'm sure more. When there is more light I'll be able to check it out better. For the record, this is my first on road accident.

... there is no legitimate reason for a wholesale abandonment of the Zeta architecture. It is a product ready for release with all of its development money spent. It has been crtically acclaimed, and certainly sets a new standard for GM RWD. I will concede that in its present form its shelf life may be shorter than it would have been due to outside factors, but to toss it aside before letting it prove itself in our market is pure stupidity. If CAFE and fuel prices and currency issues pinch it back in the coming years, so be it. But to invite a huge and obvious loss when the product itself is so strong makes no sense. A pendulum swing back to all FWD all the time is …

  86. So yesterday Sixty8 and I took his Banana boat on a trip to the toy store...er...junkyard. He was in search of parts for it and I was in search of a headlight for the T&C...plus any other goodies that caught my eye for one of the other cars. We spend from 11 until 1 or so there, he had better luck than I though. They didn't have a single first gen Caravan. Although We did see a few interesting things there. There was a triple burgundy Cadillac 1984 Fleetwood Brougham (I think that's what it was) that was in sitting amidst the rows of other Caddies and Buicks stacked on top of each other with nothing on it (yet) The vinyl top was gone and so was the grill but the rest …
