Insured and re-registered the Grand Marquis Monday, got a battery for it today. Duralast Gold. It was about 20 degrees and it hadn't been started or taken around the block in at least a month. It was 22 degrees. Fired right up, took it for a 10 mile drive through traffic, back roads, and some highway. Works like a champ. Next week it's getting a "new" transmission.

There are a few people stepping over some boundaries. Even at 1024x768, which I feel is pretty reasonable, there are some sigs which give me horizontal scrollbars. Hey, PB: How's your new job looking thus far? God, that first day or two until you get the lay of the land is so weird. We've gone through bizarre changes at work in the last 2 months...probably more complex than what needs to be put on the site. However, it has all meant MORE work for me (bleh), so now I am constantly behind and playing catch up. Ok so im in the market to get a new car.... mainly because I am now doing website work for a used dealership and I can get a car from them for auction price. My selections are a VW R32, and Audi A4 3.0 Quattro 2003, and Subaru STI and a Pontiac GTO 2004. Today I was driving home from work getting off at Jordan Creek Parkway, which runs through the heart of upper-middle class suburbia in West Des Moines. My Senior Studio project this semester is to design a car that takes form an function to a new level in a midsize sedan shape that isn't boring. As I've mentioned, there's this 96 Nissan Hardbody pickup for sale that I'm seriously considering. It's a regular cab, standard bed with a 2.4L 4cyl and 5spd manual. So Friday I'm going to try to negotiate with a dealer in LaFollette, Tennessee on a 1998 Camaro V6 5-speed with a little over 176,000 miles. The dealer hasn't set an asking price yet as they haven't completely "prepped it for the lot yet" (it needs a brake booster installed and first-gear tightened up). Thus far, all of my research from the KBB website shows that there is about a two-hundred dollar or so average between their car and my truck with my truck actually being the more expensive vehicle. I've noticed recently a rash of posters sixty8 who fail to properly punctuate, or use any punctuation at all. It makes your posts verry difficult to read which increases the liklihood your posts will be skipped over. First things first, the first letter of the first word of a sentence is capitalized, that means it is bigger, i.e. Y as compared to y. At the end of a sentence, place a period or a question mark (looks like this--> ?) if your sentence is a question. Its basic grammar, not too hard most people who aren't from Alabama have been doing it since 2nd grade. Now please, it isn't too hard, so do it.

Brookville Area School District teachers have gone on strike, therefore delaying school until sometime in October. This means that I have an extra month of summer and will not get out of school until almost July. My school has no A/C... It's going to be a living hell. Otherwise, I can't really complain and do think teachers are underpaid.

Well let's see.... -Red Wings lose, they are down 3-2 in the series. 1 loss from elimination. -Lions *don't* take Matt Leinart in the draft....they draft some dude that's already had like 4-5 concussions. -Pistons are getting ready to lose big to Milwaukee. So yesterday they went to the auction in Indianapolis, and today a black Z06 is sitting there getting ready for the mechanics to make sure everything's working okay and for one of us to clean up. Well, the mechanics did their stuff today and I think tomorrow we will probably be cleaning it up. I'm hoping they let me just drive it around in the parking lot or something, it'd be a cool experience. If I could have a Z06, it'd definetly be a black one. It looked so badass it wasn't even funny. Seriously, I think it looks more badass than a Viper. All Corvettes are red, but maybe all Z06's are black :AH-HA_wink:

I'm looking at picking up a cheap 1992 sunbird from a relative it has the 2.0 L 4 cylinder I believe. Its up there in miles but had alot of mantenance. It just needs sway bar work up front , new belts, and a tune up. Its had the head gasket replaced a while ago and its done well so far knock on wood, but is it a decent car or is it going to be a money hog? I really want it for fuel efficiencys sake for just around the town driving.

Well...I'm mostly mad at myself. Coming home from work today I'm behind this chevy pickup going about 45-50mph. All of a sudden he swerves into the right lane for what seems no reason at all. Then, I see this white explorer stopped waiting to turn left. Since there is a car in the right lane next to me I have no choice but to slam my brakes on hard. Well, I stop fine. So today I made a trip to my favorite junkyard for the Shadow. I was hoping to find one with a 2.5L so I could see how the vacuum hoses by the throttle body hooked up. here were a few disconnected and I couldn't figure out where they went, and neither could Sixty8. As you may know, I finally replaced the value cover gasket...so there should no longer be any major oil leaks. My first real work on an engine, and it was very rewarding to it myself. Anyway, all they had was a 3.0 V6 Duster, and a 2.5 Spirit, but the Spirit had different vacuum hose routing. With that attempt failed, I decided to wonder around and see what else they had. This morning my father passed away rather suddenly. He was 64. Last Friday he had a massive heart attack. His heart stopped beating for 21 minutes before the paramedics revived him. Unfortunately, his brain activity was minimal. We pulled the ventilator on Sunday, and he died early this morning. As tragic as this is, its a realization that I should have told him I loved him more. I never got to thank him for instilling in me my love for cars, the outdoors, and life. It doesn't snow here often, and when it does they don't clear the roads. Well, the Buick decided to go one way and I wanted to go another. Unfortunetly the Buick headed towards a dirt wall. I hit it hard enough to crack up the driver's side fender, mess up the bumper and I'm sure more. When there is more light I'll be able to check it out better. My cousin turned his truck on its side just before easter. The night before, actually. This was my Grandpa's, as well, before he sold it to my cousin last fall. It had 20k some miles before he did. Fun picture of it, the Cobalt, and my Grand Am from '05.

I hate quarterly deployments. Worked from home for 4 hrs Friday morning, did stuff (laundry, etc) around the house Friday afternoon, been in the office now since Friday 6pm w/ my team doing deployments of applications to production servers (conference call w/ people across 4 US time zones and India). Should have taken an afternoon nap. Hope to go home and get sleep within the next hour...

I remember back a while C&G moved to the new(er) forum, i.e. the one before this one. So right now, will both forums (the previous one and the oldest one) be gone with the dust forever?
