Time for a new one!! Admittedly, selection is somewhat limited in this parameter, so have fun trying to assemble a group with enough diversity for you. Rules- 1) Production vehicles only. 2) Any era and market is allowed. 3) These are your only vehicles. 4) Must be 10 cylinder. 5) You can pick 5 vehicles. After you do a Top 5, you can round out a Top 10, as with previous lists. Have fun!

Since my mom got the boot from England (visa issues) she's back home and the 'rents have only one viable, working vehicle, the L200. I'm not entirely sure where the Sebring is, last I heard it was pretty well dead. Maybe they'll let me park it somewhere and charge people $5 to hit it with a baseball bat, since thats what the POS deserves. Anyways, since mom couldn't bring her Opel back from the UK, they're going to need another car. She wanted a Prius, but they're not going to have the cash to put up front like we did, and they probably wont be willing to jump through the ridiculous hoops we did. She was quite intrigued by the Rabbit, until she drove it and complaine…

In a chaotic world sometimes gone mad, do you ever have those moments of just simple contentment? This morning, had breakfast in bed, it's quiet except for some roots type music, softly playing on CKUA.com online, laptop on my lap. Brand new sheets and pillows, got more premium, so worth it. I highly recommend treating yourselves to simple things like this. I think I'm actually sleeping better. Nothing planned today.. Ahhh...I'm feeling everything is going to be ok. Another sip of coffee...mmm. pure contentment...

Does your viewpoint on whether or not GM should get a bailout have to do with your love for GM products or do you truly think it will be better for the automobile sector and the economy of 300+ million people? I still havent heard all the sides but im leaning to letting the private enterprise deal with its problems with private enterprise funds. What about yourself?

Hi guys, I've been working tons of overtime latley and have been barely making it to the gym because I'm tired and not motivated enough to want to go. I've still been making it 4 times a week though I'd prefer 5 at about 1:15 a clip (50 minutes lifting 20 or so for cardio) Who here works out regulalry and do you have problems fitting it in your daily routine.

[source: MotorAuthority] Lotus reveals new photos of Evora ahead of June launch Many Celebrities on the Waiting List The wraps first came off the Lotus Evora 2+2 GT back in July 2008 but despite the car looking production-ready Lotus engineers had plenty of fine tuning to complete before the car could finally go on sale. Then, almost nine months later, Lotus finally confirmed the production specifications for the Evora and announced a launch date for this May. That date got bumped to June, but the car is finally on its way - for Europe at least. To ramp up excitement for the launch, Lotus has released a new set of images of the Evora, reve…

Since I purchased the Cadillac last week, I've been hearing/seeing ads for extended warranties and of course there's always the AAA services being advertised. With the Caddy having no warranty, I'm definitely interested in getting some protection for the car, especially since it will be my daily-driver starting in November and want to protect my family when we're on the road. Should I look into an extended warranty plan, and if yes, with what company? Should I look into AAA coverage too? Since this is the first vehicle I have without any owner protection (I've been leasing my vehicles for 10 years now, so I've never paid attention to any services due to the manufactur…

I'm finally starting to believe I'm meant to have bad luck with cars. The Buick starting making a nasty, unprovoked knocking today that has me a bit confused because I can't quite pinpoint where the sound is coming from. One on hand, it sounds like the flywheel or torque converter could going bad when you start it up, but say when you raise the hood to give it a good listen, it sounds like it could be a loose timing chain. God help me if it turns out to be a rod. I'll get rid of it.

Pontiac Magazine Ads Also today while searching YouTube, I saw a 1965 GTO commerical. The first two seconds was a ad from the site it came from. I must have caught it during my heavy travels over the last month or so.....in-and-out of airports and airplanes and stuff. It started out with heavy chills, fever, and night sweats on Monday and Tuesday (3-27, 3-28) and then Wednesday morning, the little red bumps started showing up. By Thursday afternoon, I was returning from a meeting in Nashville....and the red bumps turned a nice shade of NASTY....! I was SO humiliated flying home from Nashville thru Las Vegas to Los Angeles. I was broken out ALL over my face and head....but it loo…

Check out this custom one-off. 1929 Ford with an early 90s 1st gen. Q45 motor transplant. It predated the Lexus hot rod by a few years but I never heard of it until just now when I found it on some random Infiniti forum. Later on as shown here it was obviouslt deemed cool enough by the powers that be at Nissan & Infiniti to dipslay at the show next to a 2nd gen. Q45 in the 97-01 era. Actaully that looks like a 99-01 Touring edition in the back ground.

I normally post “Cheers and Jeers,” my end-of-year wrap-up post late on New Year’s Eve or early New Year’s Day. This year, I found myself in the hospital for most of the past week as my first child was born at the end of the year in circumstances that were later and more difficult than expected, and hence this post had to wait a week until mom and baby daughter were resting well at home, and they are doing fine now. So on with the festivities, and I hope everybody has been having a Happy New Year so far. Twenty ten was a year that continued to be filled with doom and gloom, with occasional peeks of sunshine to be smothered with dark gray clouds again as the jobless rec…

Boeing to deliver first 787 after years of delays Link: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Boeing-to-deliver-first-787-apf-4218156513.html Boeing delivers its first 787 jet on Sunday. It's been a long time coming. The new jet, which was supposed to be flying passengers three years ago, has been delayed by production and design problems. But now it's here, and airlines expect it to offer travelers much more comfort, open up new routes and provide significant fuel savings. The first one goes to Japan's All Nippon Airways, which has been printing the 787 logo and "We Fly 1st" on its business cards for years. Airlines love the jet, which Boeing calls the Dreamliner. Th…

Who else has been enjoying this big storm thats been going across the nation? It started raining last night and didn't let up, it turned into freezing rain and finally snow this evening. The best part is that I had to drive around randomly assessing the roads so I could decide wether or not any stores needed to be closed. Since half the town was a sheet of ice and there were no plows in sight, one delivery only store had to be closed. After that I got bored so I came home and couldn't get the Fusion into my garage (driveway is a pretty steep incline) so I left it at the end of the driveway and came inside. Then I used some Nair I found to eliminate a single gigant…

Anybody know about this guy? I've heard lots of good things about him. He seems to be particularly popular with Internet folk. Official Ron Paul 2008 Website Honestly, I have no idea who I would vote for in the upcoming presidential election. Currently, it would probably be Paul, McCain, Giuliani, or abstain, in that order. At any rate, I can't very much trust anything the corporate media says, since that's more or less what I'm voting against. (I am aware of Lounge rule #2. I'm hoping this will spark nothing more than -- at most -- a constructive debate.)

This is a combination of CheersandGears monthly car spotter threads and Would You Rather threads. Ive come to realize that lately in Montreal, in the summer, interesting cars appear. This was not the case even 5 years ago...but Ill take it now.... Today, after months of letting the breeze outside in the street, my dad finally took it for brakes. The light was on, and the pedal went to the floor. I had been telling him for months to take it in, not good to let it rot. And now, we have to pay $450 because the back brake system is a mess and the front needs new pads. O how right I was and he didn't listen.

Jason Stein Automotive News Europe December 10, 06:01 CET Markets are booming. Factories are expanding. Dealers are lining up to be considered for new franchises. And you can’t see the end in any of it. This isn’t the model we’ve grown accustomed to in Europe of late. But it’s real. How refreshing is it to sit with a leading executive in Europe and have him tell you he is going to exceed every expectation in the coming years? How refreshing it is to be in the game in Russia. General Motors Europe President Carl-Peter Forster has a vision. It is more plants, new agreements and higher revenues. And he wasn’t talking about western Europe. Truth be told, t…

By JAMES STANFORD 16 March 2008 GM HOLDEN has confirmed it will export its new Ute and a new high-performance version of the G8 sedan to the US. GMH chairman and managing director Mark Reuss also vowed to further extend the company’s export portfolio when he announced the deal at Fishermens Bend this morning. The Ute will be sold as a Pontiac G8 "sport truck" variant, although its actual title is yet to be decided. Pontiac will ask the public to come up with an apt title for the car-based ute. The Pontiac ute, which was styled by Holden designers in Australia, picks up a similar front-end to the G8 sedan. It will presented in the US for the first time at the New…

Well, wifey did. Salesman friend of ours bid on smart auction and won a '07 Aura XR with 32k miles. Was a GM rental car. Berry red with black leather and moon roof. Auction noted some paint flaws, hope it look ok when they get it up to the dealer. I'm usually quit picky on my vehicles but when the wife drives over 30k miles a year it's hard to get too picky. It's gonna see a lot of the enviroment each day of her commute! Was a bit iffy about it being a rental (but may have been rented/leased to a business??) but 100k powertrain warranty has my nerves settled. I really liked the powertrain and black leather option of the XR, but I suppose the XE would've been the ideal c…

The strangest of thoughts came to me today when I went to pick up my daughter from the bus stop this afternoon. It wasnt at the bus stop per se that this vision and thought popped into my head, but rather at the grocery store parking lot when we stopped to pick up a few items. What I saw is this: A shiny new fiery red Chevy Volt And parked right behind it, was an Acura Integra. Dont know what year it was as miniminal changes were made during its lifetime, I know the front clip was refreshed, and this particular car was of the pre-refreshed front clip...but my memory eludes me to when this happened so that is why I went with 1997. Sounds good whe…

one word Amazing! This weekend was the Red Bull Air Race in Detroit. It was crazy. They put on a very good show and had much more then just air racing. they had helicopter stunts and sky divers and military aircraft flybys. They had a F-4U fly in formation with a F-18. that takes some skill there. Then the F-18 did a mach .98 fly by. Also had a B-25 flyby. Crazy stuff. I cant wait till next year. Did any of you get to make it? There must of been 200,000 people there easily. Forgot the camera but i will find some on the net and post them.

Amazing show at the Chesterbrook July Cruise Night. The highlight was a full custom '49 Olds Sedanette with insanely good workmanship. I'm not usually into these but it really was that good. Another car of note was a '37 Buick 8 Super that was an unrestored survivor with that patina that 68 loves so much. I think that there were 4 or 5 First gen Monte Carlos including one phantom SS complete with a Chevelle cowl induction hood molded into the original Monte hood ( fully Functional). Also there was a Nask Metropolitan with a GM v6, a '69 Caprice (unrestored) with 29k original miles, a '70 Nova SS with 21k original miles, a Plum Crazy Hemicuda, an Atomic Orange Zo6, a '41…

I just got back from a two day trip to North Dakota for work. We flew into Bismarck the first day, and the weather was horrible...snow, wind, ice. Our plane was a six-seater twin engine Cessna and there was so much ice building up on the wings that we started losing some airspeed as we approached Bismarck. Most of the time we had to stay above 12,000 feet to avoid the ice, which is pretty tough on your body when you're in a small plane that doesn't have cabin pressure. The crosswinds were fierce. I love flying and never get scared, but I was kinda nervous as we were landing. Our poor little plane was being tossed around like a toy. We did our business in Bismarck,…

Okay, I know I'm going to get hammered, but I'm going to ask anyways.... First point- Wife has decided to keep her Cav. Does not want a new car. Surprised me, but wants to start saving more money for other stuff. Which is fine, so I'll just update the Cavalier (new ATF/Dex Shocks/struts) since it's pretty good shape for a nearly 7 year old car... Which brings to to my next point- I'd like to get a cheap SUV for the family, like for hauling stuff around, taking trips up north, so things like that. I only need two things-dependible and cheap ( and rust free). There's a good chance this thing will get upgraded anyways. Here's the trouble: Chevy Blazer. Why, you say? …

BEIJING -- China suspended military exchanges with the United States and threatened sanctions against American defense companies Saturday, just hours after Washington announced $6.4 billion in planned arms sales to Taiwan. The development has further strained the complex relations between the two powers, which are increasingly linked by security and economic issues. China's Defense Ministry said the sales to self-governing Taiwan, which the mainland claims as its own, cause "severe harm" to overall U.S.-China cooperation, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported. The Foreign Ministry threatened sanctions against U.S. companies involved in the arms sales. A spokeswoman…

Found this on Craigslist: 1993 Buick Park Ave Ultra - $1900 - 57,000 miles I got the address and it's still available. It's only about 15 minutes from my house. I'm going to look at it this evening. The guy says it has a small exhaust leak and the transmission cooler line is leaking, but those are the only known issues. Opinions? Things to look for? I know it's not a truck, but it's cheap and with only 57k miles it'll probably have a lot of life left in it. I could still use the CRV if I need to haul something large, but all of my tools would still fit in the trunk.

Ok, so I dont think I've mentioned this, but a couple of months ago, my mom decided to take a job in England. She left two weeks ago (my dad is going over after she gets settled and decides if she wants to stay) and was told she was going to need a car. They told her that her Saturn would "make her a target" (it would probably be the only L300 there) and besides that, its was too big. So in the time she isn't spending at work or trying to hook me up with waitresses (I'm never going to go visit if she does that the whole time I'm there) she's been looking for a car. I talked to my dad this morning, and apparently she bought a Corsa, which …

Nothing worse than just settling down into bed after drinking all night to hear a tinny, mechanical voice out in the hallway, ear-piercing sirens, and be blinded by flashing lights at 3 AM. God I hate false fire alarms.

Didn't want to throw this into the GM Merchandise forum, since these arent readily available. But, since I was cleaning up around here and found these I thought I'd snap a couple pics and throw 'em up. I mentioned these to Cort last week. Got these in fall of '84 when the '85s came out. These were the ones on the wall at the Chevy dealer. They are fairly thick cardboard. Wanted the Vette and Camaro ones, but a salesman snagged them. So I ended up with a bunch, but these are the only two I have left. I had Chevette, Citation X-11, Astro, and Silverado ones (those that I can remember anyway). Funny part was that in '89, I bought an '85 Eurosport like this one exce…

What's on BV's mind, you ask? Well.... Monday, the 28th was the first day of Deer - Rifle season. You want to know what is a bad idea? To put me... the day dreamin, doesn't pay attention, easily bored, always tired, and hyper 16, almost 17, year old kid... in a treestand... all day... in the cold... with a gun... That's not going to end well. Let's just say that boredom and sleepiness came fast. I almost dozed off a few times and I had the hardest time sitting still. At the end of the day I saw 3 does and two fawns. That's it. I walked away freezing my ass off (among other things) and mentally insane from the lack of excitement. Didn't shoot a…

Basically... I'm just looking for an excuse to show off my lovely "Wall of Pontiac"... So.. uh... you can post pics to show your enthusiam for automobiles too... I guess... Yeeeah......  :D Anyways, my room is so small that I had to take many pics, and in some cases, crop two together, to show it all. Also, don't mock my Xmas decorations... I can't help it that I have the spirit of Xmas... :P The "Wall of Pontiac" The "rest"... The "Xmas decor"... The "Favorite Expression"... BTW, sorry for the extremely poor quality of the pictures. My camera sucks and it lets me know that. Also, please ignore the fact that my r…

I would say most people go to a restaurant for convenience, for something different to eat, for atmosphere, and for good service. Saturday I went to Applebee's for lunch. The server came by in a reasonable period of time and took my order... so far, so good. Then it all went to hell in a handbasket. I ordered one of their new "combos", which is your choice of an entree and a dessert for one price. I got the Southwest Chicken/Raspberry cheesecake combo. It took a long time to get my food and the place wasn't that busy for that day and time. The cheese on top of the chicken was burned to ash on the edges. It actually disintegrated into black dust when I cut it. The…

My schedule for the rest of the week is as follows: Tuesday - Work from 5-9:30 with my best friend and favorite boss. Wednesday - Co-op job interview at Continental Teves, Inc. (my top choice for a co-op position!) for Kettering University. Then work from 5-9:30, again with my favorite boss. Thursday - Test in Psychology. Last day of school before Spring Break. Work from 2:30-6. Friday - Start tearing down engine to put in camshaft, valve springs/retainers, pushrods, ceramic-coated headers/y-pipe, 180* performance thermostat, spark plugs, and spark plug wires, along with a full computer tune (though that means I'll be without my PCM for 5 days lol). Saturday - Contin…

Ok, so I'm bored and thought this would be a fun thread. If you haven't figured it out already, in this thread you are to post the mods you would do to your car if you had the money. I'm going to do what I would do for $5k and then for $10k, I suppose you can do whatever you want, but it would be more fun if you put a couple price limits on your mods, IMO. Anyways, here goes: First, performance: Kooks 1 3/4" x 3" w/ 3" Metallic Catted Connection Pipes Headers. $849 on PFYC Borla dual exhuast: $859.95 on eBay. K&N CAI: $195.95 on eBay And finally, a tune. Approx $500. For appearance: SAP grill inserts: $194.99 SAP front fascia extension: $284.90 Banshe…

This was a facinating story about a three wheeled car, a transvestite and fraud in the 70's. The Dale three wheeled car was designed by Dale Clift and marketed by Liz Carmichael. It was covered widely in print and television media during the gas crisis of that period. But things weren't all that they appeared. The company was investigated and fraud, grand theft and securities violations was discovered. Only about 3 prototypes were built. One is in the Petersen Museum. And Liz went to prison. Later it was also discovered that Liz Carmichael was a 200 lb transvestite who was born Jerry Dean Michael. Not that there is anything wrong with that. 1975 Dale brochure:

As of today, we are now a GM-only household. Sold my 2004 Neon SXT this morning and we're down to one car, the Malibu Maxx. This is the first time I've been without a Mopar in the garage since Nixon was president. I'm serious! My wife got a new job where she is able to commute via bus and I've been commuting via bus for a long time. Our high-school daughter gets to/from school via the bus as well and she won't be able to drive, unless some advanced surgery comes along to fix her eyesight (she's legally blind). We decided we don't need two cars and my wife didn't like driving the Neon (she claims she sat too low in it). Wow...we only have one car--and it's a GM!

We had to euthanize our 14 yr old Australian Terrier, Nauti (aka Bitey Beast) this morning after a long battle w/ cancer. I really bonded w/ this feisty little dog and will miss her deeply. Poured a stiff glass of Jameson to have a toast to her.

Was in Autozone the other day (>"You want it, you need it, we can't find it, we don't have it"<) and their magazine rack (!) had a rag with cars on 30" rims. There was a gold late '70s Impala on the cover with these... wagon wheels and 6 big chromed trumpet horns under the front bumper in a cluster, probably providing a 'cow catcher' function to nudge pedestrians and..... cows out of the way. I actually had to pick up the rag to see if it was pics of real cars or well-detailed scale models. They were real alright. Couldn't find anything better than this on the net, but just so you all are on top of things: 20"s (and 22"s and 24"s) are so 3 seconds ago.

A thread about comedians. Who do you like? Who don't you like? Etc. Personally, I've been a fan of Stephen Lynch for a while and seeing him on Comedy Central for the first time in a while last night gave me the idea for this thread. He's a comedic song writer. One simply needs to listen to Hermaphrodite, Lullaby, Grandfather, Talk to Me, Kill a Kitten, or one of his many other songs. They're cleverly written and on top of that, he's a great vocalist and guitarist. Other than him, I'm also a big fan of Carlos Mencia and Lewis Black.

So, in an unexpected turn of events, the Bonneville will disappear Saturday and be replaced with a 2013 Traverse. I got a deal and decided to take it, so the the Bonne disappears and the Malibu sticks around a couple more months until its lease is up. Then I have to decide what I get to replace the Malibu. Guess its time to update my av.

Don't hurt me for this one but we really are. I'm part of a drug prevention group in school and the teacher who is over the whole thing is also my 4th period teacher. As the only active group in our school that does anything after school wise, our teacher has made it a tradition to always be the head of the senoir party and basicaly direct everything that happens. And what happens? My lack of a life popped in and now im having to help her with the Senior party to direct it. We need ideas. ones that dont suck. Please help
