Today was the first day it really felt hot. Car thermometer said 130 when I started, but after a few min w/ the A/C on, it settled down to 100. Though one TV news channel says it was only 98. Well, 6 months of heat begins. Looking forward to getting in pool soon. Supposed to be 102 tomorrow, then cool down to the 90s for a few days.

My son was getting extremely rambunctious (probably the first 2.5 year old to ever be that way) so I pulled out his gigantic Hot Wheels collection. Barely a peep out of him since, he's on the office floor playing with all the cars, occasionally making "Vroom, Vroom" noises. His favorites seem to be the Plymouth Prowler and BMW 850ci. Most of "his" Hot Wheels are my old ones, including what appears to have been a Citation hatchback that I de-roofed at some point.

Very long list, I wont bother to copy it all over here. I will say this, some very very not good songs on it. Clicky for full list I have to admit, seeing Too Drunk to F*ck on any best songs lists is awesome, Hunger Strike should be higher than 471, Jump by Kriss Kross (seriously, wtf?) The list is bogus, complete crap, like four good songs on it. We should destroy Blender magazine. I mean come on, the list has the Macarena in the top 200.

This beautiful day, I want to go driving. With the windows down, and the warm breeze. A day to forget all the ugly things going on in this country, all this sudden destruction of our stylish industry... the automobile. It has gone from a loved part of life to an evil that some people want to see destroyed. That destruction is here, big, terrible and bright. The other side, the aftermath, looks bleak and cold from my desk. So I'm going driving. It could be to the beach, or to the city. I don't know yet. But I'll take my camera.

I am guilty of eating at McDonald's this evening on the way home. Some McDonald's have newspaper boxes in the drive-thru lane for breakfast customers, painted in McD's colors. Here across the pond, pizza tends to be served on an individual basis, is less expensive than in the states and is delicious. I had thin crust pizza the last 2 nights -- topped with olives, artichokes, prosciutto and mushrooms. Fantastic. I really don't like thick crust pizza because I like tasting the ingredients. Which type of crust do you like?

I know there are a few B bod fans around here, so you know what I mean when I say these cars are the damn coolest out there! I have always loved the 2-door Tahoes and Yukons but searching for them online is a hassle. They always slip between the cracks in any search and I end up entering every configuration of 2-door Tahoe(Yukon) as in 2dr Tahoe, 2-door Tahoe, Tahoe 2-door, etc. or sifting through thousands of 4-doors just to find a handful of 2-door listings. What a PITA! So, if you run across any let me know.

I just joined a gym, literally 5 minutes ago, online. It's only like 3 miles from my house. I stopped by there this morning and took a tour, led by a perky young lady. The place seems very low key, and I'm hoping it will help me keep fit over the winter. My biggest fear is looking like a complete doofus. Will the treadmill throw me off the back? Will I strangle myself when I drop the 25 pound barbell on my neck? I've never done anything like this before. I'm hoping it will be a good move. Does anyone else here belong to a gym? Do you have any funny or odd experiences you can share?

So I was talking to a friend today and he said his dad was buying himself a brand new FJ Cruiser to replace his 1996 Grand Voyager. Apparently he paid cash for it already and is taking delivery on Thursday. So what did I do? I told his son about the Frame problems, and showed pictures, and directed him to this site and others and told him of some of Toyota's other follies that nobody gets to here about. Last I heard, his dad was on his way to the Toyota dealer to tell the salesman the deal was off. () Chock one up for the good guys.

He finally got back to me on the letter (PM) I wrote back at the end of the big WWIII ! Yeah-Things are getting interesting around here... Suddenly the laughable version of Detroit in Robocop aren't so funny anymore.... Things I've seen today: 1. A push out at Best Buy-which involved rolling over the guy rolling over the employee's arm with the shopping cart who tried to stop it. ( Good news is he wasn't hurt bad-lots of bruises though) 2. I can not for the life of me figure out what this Pontiac is. I've narrowed it down to a '66, '67, or '68 model and I'm leaning toward a Catalina or possibly a Tempest, but every one has different headlights and taillights from this one. So my aunt came over for Christmas as always, but she wasn't sure she was going to make it on Christmas Eve, as her Subaru Outback wouldn't start, but finally turned over after an hour's delay. She drove it here and it made it, and then it started fine on Christmas and the day after, when we took it to the dealer's service department. I was wondering if this scenario has ever happened to any of you? Have you ever deliberately parked next to the same model as your own, or has someone ever parked next to you with the same car? I think it's cool when someone parks next to you with the same car or vise versa.

We had to put one of dogs to sleep today...our Australian Terrier rescue, Nauti (there is a long story behind the name), which we rescued 2 1/2 years ago on my sister's birthday (got her from the county shelter, was a stray due to be euthnanized), had a bad seizure this morning..she'd been undergoing chemo treatement for almost a year and her quality of life had been diminishing. As an aside, I think adopting dogs w/ my sister from local rescues and doing volunteer work w/ the rescues has made me a better person.
