Anyone know? Thanks for any help.

With Toyota annpuncing it will lose money in 2009, Honda canceling the NSX, I was wondering if Toyota is still moving forward with the Supra and what ever super car was destined for Lexus? Just wondering because the C6 Corvette will soldier on until about 2012, maybe 2014 and I was wondering what competition from Japan, Inc (excluding the Nissan GTR which is here) it will have to compete against? Maybe Siegen or ToyoGuy have some tidbits for us.

I keep on admiring a 91 Sunbird LE sedan at a used car dealer in my town. It was a trade-in one owner car and it has only 128kms on it. It has been sitting there for about 6 months so the price has been lowered. They send I could have it for $200. I did the free history report on it and it turned up 0 records. It was owned by a little old lady lol. The paint is rough but the rust isn't bad. THe powertrain is in excellent condition. The car has a turn off though. The floor boards are getting soft and rotting. Can this be prevented before they open or can new floorboards be put in? The kms are legitimate as the car has a 6 digit odometer unlike the Aries. Nothing mechanical…

One that says all RV interiors have to be really ugly? I just spent a few hours scanning ads for RVs and every last one of them had a hideous interior full of crazy floral patterns and some very funky colors. I don't get it.

Depending on what section you're in sometimes you get the option of changing the HTML when starting a new thread so you can embed, sometimes you don't. I know I don't get it in the Chrysler or Opel forums, in the GM and Ford sections I do.

Hi all. I'm truck shopping. Getting rid of the mini-van now that I need something to better meet the family needs. I've looked at all makes, questioned new owners, examined build-lists, optioned-together glorified "I wish" truck builds, came back to Earth, and started searching for deals. The 2012 clearouts for 0% financing held few to be desired, so I waited... until I saw an ad at the local dealership for an "End of the World Sale" - one day only. They're discounting everything on their lot, including 2013 units. Test drove a 2013 SLE with the 1SB package and a couple add-on options and liked it, but stopped cold when I saw an All Terrain with the Offroad package …

Found this on Ask.com. I feel like kicking the bastards who would molest such a nice '68 Firebird like this right in the balls. I don't know about you, but I am getting sick and tired of looking through a Muscle/Classic Car Trader for a car and seeing crap like that. I found a '67 Camaro and a '70 Chevelle treated the same way. It ranks right up there with some kid ricing out his grandma's Tercel. I guess it's true. Stupidity is a disease.

How in high school you had the biggest crush on a girl. Would do anything for her just to see her smile, or would do anything for her just to make her day. Then, you go years without talking. And you meet up at a bowling alley, exchange #'s and she's blowing your phone up 24/7? Damn, I love the feeling.

Think how much easier it would be for automakers to make cars if every country drove on the right side of the road. Countries in red drive on the right side of the road, those in blue drive on the left side of the road. Most countries drive on the right side of the road. The majority of the countries that drive on the left side of the road are relics from the old British Empire.

Not sound like I am pulling a Frank and talking about how awesome a chick is but I always find it odd how things have a way of coming back full circle. I've been feeling a little down in the dumps as of late when it comes to snaggin' the tang and I've quickly been searching for a pick me up. First, the ex has been blowing up the phone for the last two days. This after proclaiming to me that she is "taken" and is "loyal" to her new man. Pfffft on that I say. I'm a firm believer that a monomigous relationship no longer exists in this world. Last night she wanted to head to the bar, blah blah but this guy is laying off of the "scene" for awhile. The kicker came y…

New technologies and changes in U.S. law are adding to pressures to turn Internet service providers into cops examining all Internet traffic for child pornography. One new tool, being marketed in the U.S. by an Australian company, offers to check every file passing through an Internet provider's network — every image, every movie, every document attached to an e-mail or found in a Web search — to see if it matches a list of illegal images. The company caught the attention of New York's attorney general, who has been pressing Internet companies to block child porn. He forwarded the proposal to one of those companies, AOL, for discussion by an industry task force that i…

Holding my little one in my arms for a little while, even if she's screaming her lungs out and crying like the devil is a great feeling, I know that one day it'll all end, but right now, I really really love being a dad, seeing those big blue-gray eyes look up at me, I know that this is the right thing and it can't get any more right. A friend of mine recently died of cancer. I was sad to see her go in such a way as she was a beautiful soul and a wonderful friend. For her funeral, a group of us (3 ladies and 5 guys) all got together and shaved our heads and donated the contents to locks of love to have wigs made. We attended her funeral bald headed. Since I shaved my head I have continued to shave it every night. I normally have thick hair and I must say its a big change to get accustomed to. I didn't realize how much of my body heat my hair held in my body. It's cold bein bald.

Well boys and girls, I always hoped and prayed it wouldn't get me, but dammit, it got me. Two nights ago I was coming home from getting gas. I had the green light at an intersection and out of nowhere comes a 2000 or newer Chevy, or possibly GMC Suburban/Yukon/Tahoe (couldn't really tell, I was too busy trying to avoid playing bumper cars) across my front end, well I slam on the binders and start aiming for the rear of the truck hoping that I would be able to clear it and just swerve. No such luck, crunch, crash, sounds of collision ensue. Anyway to make the story even worse, after we hit, the other person just slows down for a second, then continues to drive on. Po…

My SKY image came through yesterday!!! I go to the dealership on Saturday to write up the paperwork and put a deposit down, although the sales manager has already put it into the system with the options I want. I was working a late yesterday (actually, almost always do) and I get an e-mail from the manager saying that my image arrived, he put in my options, and I can now officially say that I have ordered my '07 SKY. The only downside is that I wanted the black & red two-toned leather interior to go with the Silver Graphite exterior. There's a constraint on that interior, so I told him to go ahead and change the interior to the all black leather interior. Hope…

First big cookout of the year is going on as I type. Hamburgers on the grill, cold beer and other assorted beverages in the cooler, and a nice little fire going in my newly built (literally started yesterday and finished today) fire pit. Marshmallows are being roasted, s'mores are being made. The only way the night could be more perfect is if it were lit by fireflys.

I couldn't help it, I got goosebumps all over when Optimus Prime first spoke.....needless to say that the movie action was wonderful. Sure, it was "normal" Michael Bay action, lots of shakey hand-cam work, lots of explosions and action. Good thing is you can take the family to see the movie if you want to, there's maybe only a couple of times any form of foul language is used, and typically it won't be much more than a damn or a $h!....nothing horrible. The date was September 30th, 2005. School ended and everybody went on their way home. Some by bus, some by their parent's, and some by their own vehicle. One person in particular drove his '90s Toyota Tacoma. On his way home, the engine started to stall or something. Pretty soon it stopped and wouldn't start. It caught fire. He called the fire department. As they came the fire had devoured the front half of it. Soon it was out, but too late to save the audio equipment located inside. Anyways, I don't know of the exact details, but this was to a friend of mine. I just had to write it semi-professionally. I guess he didn't pay much for it and in return…

Anyone else notice how we tend to associate certain smells with people and or places/things? Sometimes, those smells that smell good to us ... don't smell good to others ... and vice versa. Sometimes, the smell is equally displeasing or pleasing to everyone. Earlier today (Saturday), my sister noted how she loves the smell of her scarf ... because it smells like the home she and her husband own. I'm not so sure I agree with her assessment, but it is home to her.... For me, I associate newly-cut grass smells with awesome summers at home while I was a kid. I associate the smell of smoke with many bad experiences. And, of course, I love the smell of cars ... old and, …

We finally found a trailer to haul the Jetta to my house so I can actually do something with it. After a $110 tow bill (I'm just happy they didn't charge me for having it sit there for over a month), we loaded it up and brought it home. I've been able to look it over and see what's good and what's not. The biggest thing, the engine looks good. The transmission looks fine, as well, but the gear indicator is saying it's in drive, no matter what you put it in, which prevents me from being able to start it up. Same with the cooling fans that are shoved inward. We disassembled it somewhat (with the help of a sawzall) and it doesn't look that bad up front besides, you know, the…

This weekend I participated in my yearly ritual of viewing the newest Saw flick. I must say that I was especially impressed and in fact, I think this is probably the BEST Saw movie since the original (Which IMO is the best Saw) The movie really digs deeper into why Jigsaw became what he is and invokes sympathy on the part of the viewer. It also wraps up even more of the loose ends in all three of the previous movies and it has the classic Saw twist at the end. I would reccommend it to anyone who loves suspense and psychological thrillers. It's pretty graphic but I didn't think it was as bloody or intense as the last one. (I'm very squeamish) Those of you who watch horror…

It was quite a ceremony, they actually had John Kerry speak too (he's quit e speaker). Then my family went out to eat...and then I got home and slept...way to party! haha

The Vette left on a trailer just before noon today. Had a little fun, learned a lot about Vettes, made a couple of bucks. Feel pretty good about the whole thing. Next!...

OK... this weather is nuts. I just moved into this place so I don't have A/C yet. It's 82F right now, and its bloody MIDNIGHT. It was 99F this afternoon. I just checked Miami weather, and it's cooler there than it is here in Toronto right now. WTF??? ...anybody else in this heat wave?

It's finally come around, not just that I've pondered doing it, but that I'm selling the Fleetwood and moving on to something newer, much smaller, more efficient, etc. For the longest time (and to keep the finances smiling), the idea was something new but used (and quite a bit so) that fulfilled the smaller and more economical but that could be another cash purchase. Think late 90's Accord, and you'll have gotten the drift. Then that went, well, sort of to the side. I graduated college and while not yet making huge money yet or in a dream job, I'm working with a great company at home for the time being and am making a nice chunk. I love the Fleetwood dearly and it …

I'm a homeowner. Just got home from closing. What a exhaustive, draining process. The specs on the place: 2BR, 2 bath, LR, DR, EIK, and a 2 car garage(!!)

I just saw one of those Toyotathon commercials where they say "people will find any reason to buy a new Toyota" Anyway it showed them destroying noty one but two Oldsmobiles. The first was either an Alero or Intrigue...I couldn't tell because I wasn't paying much attention at first, and it was buried under a snow bank where a plow ripped it in half seconds later. The2nd one was a black first gen Aurora...the stupid bitch cut down a tree and had it land on the poor car. Toyota's coming for you fly....

So as some of you now know, and most probably do not, I have moved recently. I now live right at the intersection of Rt.3 & I-495 just outside of Lowell Mass. It's been a nerve wracking experience and I'm glad it's over. Now Sofia has more room to play and a much nicer back yard and the Super 88 & Datsun have semi- indoor storage. The Super will soon enough be sleeping in a barn when not driven. The only bad news is that we're renting again and didn't buy a house, but all good things come to those who wait. Now on with the show: I went to a car show again today with the Super 88. Kimbal's Ice Cream & Miniature Golf in Westford, MA. Just a few minutes…

For the second time in one week, I've locked my keys in the Cutlass. The third time, overall. And, of course, I was too stubborn to get an extra set made after the first and second times. I'm likely to repeat this and add another tally for the week. The good new is... I've become a master at breaking into it. Once I have the right tool (read: a metal hanger), it doesn't take much. Since I'm probably going to be too stubborn to actually go out and get an extra key made, I ought to just stick a hanger to my frame. I should be golden. *shakes head* I miss power locks.

So this is probably not newsworthy at all if you live up North, but it most certainly is if you're in Houston, Texas. I'm wholeheartedly enjoying a nice, steady snow shower right now. Let's just say that this is very, very rare here.

I'm embarking on yet another car search. It seems to be a yearly occurrence for me, though I still have a ways to go to reach the likes of Ocnblu's quarterly car purchasing spree. I'm probably not too far off at this rate... While I've loved my Legacy Turbo, it's becoming a bit of a burden. It's hard on insurance, even harder on gas, and hasn't been holding up as well as I had hoped. It's a great car with a performance pedigree (if you ignore the soft suspension, anyways), and It's likely to be my favorite over time. With that said, it has some faults that I overlooked originally. The most notable has to be the aforementioned gas mileage with my average often hanging bel…

Over the years, I have done many of these now, especially with those among us who came over from MT. So, staying true to tradition, let's hear some guesses on what made it into the Frisky household this time. I'll start off with ONE hint- It's used.

Since we seem to be at each others throats a little bit lately...let's take it "out into the parking lot" and fight over "cars' instead of stupid stuff. Here is what we can argue about-Suppose you have been picked by the Smithsonian to pick ONE GM car as a historical visual "high Water Mark" of North American car production. Let's suppose the Smithsonian will buy an example of this car and put it on permanant prominent public display. What would you pick? Also-Has to be built in North America, so PCS can't flood us with a fleet of Holdens. My pick-58-62 Chevrolet Corvette. To me even better than a 55 Nomad, 65 GTO, or other notable GM cars. That car just has the l…
