Every Friday, a group of us at work head out for lunch at a nearby steakhouse. Recently, a new Chili's has opened near our work, and we had talked about trying it. Last Friday, as we walked out to the parking lot to head out ("my" guy Ryan and another friend), we discussed where we would go. Yesterday, Black and Blue Landscaper and I made the trip out the PA turnpike for this event ahead of a terrible fatal accident which later shut down the turnpike for many hours. Well this week the Prizm accident was finally settled for 1,494.66, including keeping the car. Not what I wanted but better than what they were going to give me. This one is not for the faint of heart, but $1200 seems like sort of a deal if it is indeed a real Can-Am, which all the photographs point to (stripes, rear window louvers, duck tail spoiler, etc.). I went to see Friday the 13th a few days ago. It was pretty impressive. But I think I liked Jason better as a Zombie because he was more 'supernatural' and didn't need to be human to kill people. You can definitely tell the Texas Chainsaw influence in this movie (The same guy did the Texas Chainsaw remake) Saw The Spirit a while back... I went yesterday and looked at a 2001 Regal. 56k miles, $11 grand, very nice car. I was ready to sign the paperwork and drive it home for the first few miles. Then I got on the highway and heard some hellacious road noise. I had the air on max and the radio on and the noise was still pretty loud. The GM Heritage Center was excellent! So many beautiful cars and a great environment. I have changed my mind. GM could leave this open for GM employees because if it is opened to the public, the cars may get wrecked or ropes may be put around them. There is an amazing amount of cars in there as well. So I was coming home tonight and going 64 in a 55, and I come up on this van quite quickly, forcing me to slow to 38 at is was a 2-lane road and in a no passing zone. Meanwhile, a semi is coming up behind me, so I continuously tap my brakes so that I don't get rear-ended because I'm now going 17MPH UNDER the speed limit. After almost ten weeks of stress, aggravation & many, many dead ends I have finally sold my Super 88 to a worthy buyer. At 11:20 in the morning of April 4th 2007 I received a "subtantial" sum of money in my PayPal account. Just a few short hours later I was driving my 1959 Buick LeSabre home in a blizzard. I love the National Post coverage of this today. Terence Corcoran rails against the stupidity. He quotes the Ontario Environment Minister as saying,"It's the equivalent of taking 200,000 cars off the road." Terence points out that Ontario adds 250k vehicles a year to the road. My GF's brother is the not so proud owner of a previous gen Civic. A year or so back they had a major recall over the headlights just cutting off in the middle of a commute. Toyota was ahead of the times even back in 1983 with its DIESEL pick-up. They even have a macho cowboy in it doing a cheer leading jump. This thing reminds me of the Tundra only better looking. Belated Happy May Day Everyone. An interesting observation as I did a lunch workout at my 24hr club and then stopped at Costco to do the wives ToDo list. When I came back out, I saw 4 VWQ ID4 and 2 ID5 EVs, then a Tesla S and X as well as a Y and I have to say seeing all 3 side by side the 3 is very cheap and looks even more dated than the S and X, but all three look very dated compared to the VW ID's. So the other day I'm at home in the moring getting my day started, I've got several hours of painfully dull work ahead of me and in the mean time a client needs a delivery to western Mass. Since I'm busy and Marcia was going to visit her Friend Audrey anyway (who lives close by to the drop off point) she runs out wiht the Datsun and leaves me and at home to take care of myself and the baby... both sick with a bad cough, runny nose and worst of all a nasty sore throat. Several hours go by and I'm statring to get pissed. I call her on the cell phone and I'm like WTF? Where are you? This isn't a vacation I need you back here so I can concentrate on …

I enjoy making up words, so there may be further installments, but we'll see how this one goes first. Original word: anachronism--something out of chronological order, that belongs in a different era. Example: Moses wearing a wristwatch in "The Ten Commandments." Enzora-fied word: anachromism--something that is of a color that would not be seen as logical. Example: Automakers choose bright/flashy colors for sporty cars, but due to cost-effectiveness, put it on all other models as well. Which creates...... Bam! Teal minivan! I'm a huge fan of local music and supporting it. Perhaps it's because I come from MoTown, The Motor City, etc and this state (metro-Detroit really) is so rich with hot music and promising bands that I can't help but appreciate the smaller (for now) guys. Obviously everybody knows how I feel about JoCaine & 75 North whom I feel will be mega stars before the end of' 06 if not before the end of summer '06.
