After being very underwhelmed with the details of the regular Malibu and Maxx I looked at an SS (it was Silverstone) for the first time last night and can say I was VERY impressed. 10 times better than the craptacular GM PR shots. General Motors Europe presents its new compact car the Chevrolet Cruze during a world premiere at Pavillon Dauphine in Paris, Wednesday in preview of the 2008 Paris Car show. The Cruze, will be assembled in Lordstown, OH in 2010 for the North American market, it is the first model built on the compact-car architecture designed and engineered by GM's European operations. Based in Russelsheim, Germany, GM Europe also is developing the architecture for all of GM's mid-size cars.

Motor Trend has an article online, with an extensive gallery, of new Colorados, having driven them in Thailand. While overall very nice, I have two issues with the new truck: its carlike front end, and relatively (to wheel opening size, at least) tiny tires, even on the Z71. I know smaller tires are cheaper to replace, and this truck will be all about low maintenance costs, but man, I hope for meatier meats on the US version, esp on Z71s.

Now that GM has put a lot of time, effort and $$$ in getting the GMT 900's ready earlier than planned, will the crazy gas prices hurt sales enough that GM won't profit on these for several years??

Can any insiders tell us the status on this program. GMT161 had been progressing for quit few yrs as a Mini SUV on Theta below the Equnox & VUE for Chevy, GMC and Saturn but I have heard rumors it is another victim of the budget axe. With the NG VUE appearing to grow in size and the Equinox almost as large as a T Blazer it seems with rising gas prices this a program that needs to see the light of day. Any insight?

Hoping insiders can give me a bit of clarification. The current GMT201 MiniVans were supposed to be replaced by GMT962 about 2009. With all of GM's cancellations and delays I have heard GMT962 got replaced by GMT511. Can the insiders confirm or deny this and if its alive has it been delayed (to when?) Is it still going to be on the Lambda platform? Thanks

Here you go guys a profile drawing of the GMT900 crew cab trucks showing the front end pretty well, taken from from the GM truck-camper loading guide. Also of intrest certain areas of the dealerworld site, where I found this guide, call all the GMT800 trucks 'classic' like GM did with the Lumina then old Malibu. I just got home from my 2,500 mile trip in my '06 Convertible.....(black ext, black top, cashmere int, 6-speed manual, F55) I must say the car is as AWESOME as I knew it was.....but I couldn't believe how comfortable it was to drive all that way. The retuned F55 suspension does provide a noticeable difference between comfort and sport....but only really over bad pavement. However, sport really isn't that harsh. Fuel economy? My last two tankfuls took me 450+ miles per tank....netting me 27-28mpg...with the cruise set on 85mph!!!!!!!!
