It seems that the automotive press from what little they have experienced so far with the Malibu like it very much, but you can read that for yourself below... FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU An estimated 20 members of the media β€” including car enthusiast and business writers, fashion experts, and an international cast of journalists β€” had an opportunity to experience the new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu for themselves last week, at the Milford Proving Grounds in Milford, Mich. Those driving impressions won’t be appearing in print until at least Nov. 2, but here’s a sneak peek at their thoughts: β€œThis reinvents the value equation.” β€” Warren Brown, β€œThe Washi…

After being very underwhelmed with the details of the regular Malibu and Maxx I looked at an SS (it was Silverstone) for the first time last night and can say I was VERY impressed. 10 times better than the craptacular GM PR shots. The Chevrolet SS wheels have really grown on me and they look especially good on the Maxx (The added weight of the wagon-esque profile complements the weighty look of the wheels very well) The "SS" badge on the side is placed correctly instead of awkwardly in never-never land like on the Impala and some of the first Cobalts. And the new nose looks excellent with it's more agressive grille material and bright accents, I also think…

Each Volt displays their build number as part of the NAV screen display. I'm not sure if that will always be the case or only for the first model year. I had no real intention of getting one, I had been monitoring my local dealers through CARS.com to see if there was one within 50 miles of me, just so I could see one and perhaps test drive. There are very few instant classics these days, and this is one of them. There's still a month before actual series production of the car is slated to begin, but the winning bidder claimed the right to the very first retail production car that can be ordered in any color and with any options he chooses. Last year, it took exactly one-million dollars to win the hotly contested rights to the first 2009 Corvette ZR1, and this year $350,000 claimed the first edition of the newly-revived Camaro. Just as with last year's ZR1, all pro…

Perhaps since Ford said this and not Toyota we can deal with the content rather than the messenger: http://gm-volt.com/2009/02/06/exclusive-fo...d-explains-why/ Combine this with Ford's earlier statement that a battery about the size of the Volt's would cost ~$20K and you can see why the Volt was less "technological leap" and more baby step off the side of a bridge. That's why no one was seriously following. But it is unfortunate that so many were compelled by the PR to "make pretend". GM Gives Nissan A Piece Of Their Mind With A Recent Leaf Ad William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com May 28, 2011 This week, Nissan launched a new ad wondering what the world would look like if everything ran on gasoline. From household appliances to MP3 players, the bleak world Nissan portrays in their ad says it's time for the electric car. The ad also shows the main character filling up a Chevrolet Volt, saying how it's part of the problem. GM wasn't impressed with Nissan's new ad and decided to give Nissan a piece of their mind. GM product and brand communications chief Jason Laird wrote on Twitter today this, "A carmaker poking gentle f…

In a report done by Bloomberg, GM found the campaign was bringing in steady sales, but not any increases. β€œβ€˜Chevy Runs Deep’ has maintained the brand but it hasn’t really moved them in any direction. The campaign has not boosted showroom traffic,” said Alexander Edwards, president of the automotive division of Strategic Vision. The first recall has 154,122 Cruzes coming in for an inspection of intermediate steering shaft covers to see if they were installed correctly. Reuters / March 15, 2006 - 4:00 pm DETROIT -- General Motors, encouraged by the early sales of its redesigned 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, is accelerating its production schedule by several weeks for other SUVs built on the same platform, a spokesman said on Wednesday. GM is also asking its parts suppliers to ship components ahead of schedule so it can move to production more quickly for new versions of full-sized SUVs such as the Chevrolet Suburban and the GMC Yukon XL. The moves are key since the success of GM's revamped line of SUVs represent the struggling automaker's most important product launch this year, in a profitable segment of the market that it has long do…

GMT161 had been progressing for quit few yrs as a Mini SUV on Theta below the Equnox & VUE for Chevy, GMC and Saturn but I have heard rumors it is another victim of the budget axe. With the NG VUE appearing to grow in size and the Equinox almost as large as a T Blazer it seems with rising gas prices this a program that needs to see the light of day. Any insight?

Found in Washington by one of Google StreetView's drones, there's actually no barn to this barn find, just a car left sitting in the gray mist that folks in the Pacific Northwest call "weather." If you are interested, it's one of the fuel injected models and comes with an extra engine and other parts. Of course, if it's been sitting there for 34 years, it could fall to pieces when you try to move it... and you'll probably find more than a few dead (or perturbed) animals lurking thereabouts.
