Our house was "vandalized" at around 3 this morning. When my dad left for work he noticed that one of the gates to our backyard was wide open and some kid was riding his bike down the street. Well, as it turns out we were the victims of the world's lamest idea of vandalism: -The lid of our grill was taken off and the tin grease trap was thrown into the pool. -A small tray of golf balls we had sitting outside was also thrown into the pool. -A potted plant was moved off a table and set in the lawn. -The hose was turned on. -A dog brush was stolen. What. The. Hell. To be honest, I'm actually kind of amused that someone actually wasted their time trespassing…

You can connect cars by model name to model name of a different brand, model name to trim name of a different brand, model to model of the same brand but different generations, or from model to model via rebadge. You show the connections with N> for name, Y> for year, or R> for rebadge. 2. You can connect 2 cars by model name as long as they do not share a brand name and get 2 points .(Example: Edsel Citation N> Chevy Citation). You can connect names that have slightly different spelling as long as the name is pronounced the same, major changes in name structure…

I had three, four and sometimes even FIVE V8-powered cars in my fleet at one point just in the past few years... now I'm down to only three cars, and while they're all V8s that's got to change as my wife is on dissability right now due to her very difficult pregnancy. She's not going to receive any pay since she wasn't with the company long enough. Missed it by ten days. I sure do miss my home state. I love the last line of this story! BLUE MOUND, Texas — When two gunmen smashed through the glass front door of her suburban Fort Worth home, Kellie Hoehn didn't think twice. The 34-year-old mother of two grabbed a shotgun that had been pointed at her face early Wednesday, starting a struggle that ended with one intruder killed with his own weapon and another in the hospital. "I wasn't going to let them get to my babies," she said, recalling the moment when she pushed up the muzzle of the shotgun, pointing it away from her children's rooms. Although the intruders told her to keep quiet, she screamed for her husband. She told her 12-y…

What would it be? Personally, I'd do something like a double feature, with both movies based on the original Smokey and the Bandit. One movie would be similar in spirit to the original film, but feature a different car, altered plot and storylines, and different characters. This film would be titled Eighteen (for the amount of time the truck full of Coors had to be transported across state lines in Smokey; it would also be the deadline given in this film), and the main character would have to run blocker in a black 2010 Camaro SS RS for a truck containing pounds upon pounds of illegal drugs for a drug lord in Atlanta (hell, why not have Burt Renyolds play that part?) an…

[source: Wall Street Journal] EU Penalizes China Steel Bloc's Switch to Pre-Emptive Import Tariffs Signals Growing Protectionism By JOHN W. Tuesday's vote by trade officials from the EU's 27 member states is significant, say trade experts, because they accepted an argument from steel producers -- including the world's largest by volume, ArcelorMittal -- that punitive tariffs are needed …

How about that. Two dates in early mid-May with GnR before they head off on their tour overseas. Seems the CD is imminent. Can't wait!! Here's a pretty good source of GnR information. Check out the quotes near the bottom. http://www.newgnr.com/newgnr.html

Just wanted to let everyone know that as of Friday, the better half informed me that I'm going to be a dad. I know it might not seem like all that huge of news to y'all, but it is to me.

Okay, here's what I need/want, followed by the reasons: I need a quiet, comfortable ride. After a loud day with students, I really enjoy a bit of solitude in my car. I love road trips and will be commuting a bit, so comfort is necessary. I'm tall, so leg room needs to be adequate in the front seat. I don't need the most-intense stereo, but quality of the sound is important. I feel any stereo in the Buick, Chevy or Saturn would meet my needs, and the Accord's stereo I've heard and it's sufficient for my needs. 2007 LaCrosse CXL: The LaCrosse would allow me to have a quiet, smooth ride, conservative looks and a nice build quality. The engine and tranny would be …

I just saw an episode of this detective show, The Rockford Files, starring James Garner and was blown away by how good it was, all the '70s cars and the great looking gold Firebird Esprit he drove. It was fun seeing fun poked at the SolCal sensiblities of the time. The series ran from 1974 - 1980. I am definitely going to get this DVD collection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5pYtG_jo3o...related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_dqaWcLucQ

  85. So I drop by my buddy's body shop today, and tghey are starting on two interesting projects...a 1968 firebird that is badly in need of a resto, but all original and untouched, a 350 4 speed numbers matching car. I can see that...I'll post pics if I get a chance... Second car is a HARD hit that the owner is sentimental about, and is making a large cash payment in addition to the insurance to repair. Car was hit so hard that it ripped the passenger door completely off the car, buckled the firewall, bent the A pillar, shoved the windshield out of the car, bent the dashboard, buckled the passenger floor boards (although not irrepairably) buckled the trunk floor and inner wh…

Last week, we get 15 inches of snow, this week, it's mostly 40s and beautiful out, the only problem is there are huge puddles everywhere from the snow melting, and in the morning it's dangerous walking to class because the sidewalks are covered in ice in some places. Tomorrow was supposed to be 55 a couple days ago, now we're getting a high of 38 with rain and high winds! Then, Sunday and Monday, we're getting rain/snow! Spring cannot come soon enough. I'm tired of winter, want to be able to wear a T-shirt and shorts, and want to be able to wash the car, which is somewhat dirty even though it just sits in the garage most of the time. Damn Mother Nature!

I look at my web home page and there's a link to "campus shooting." Unbelievable: it's at the University of Washington in Seattle More unbelievable: in the Architecture Building They weren't students, per se, but it was a murder-suicide between a research associate and a man who was obviously obsessed with her. One of thinks of smug, morose, safe Nordic Seattle and this is hard to believe. On the South End, maybe. But on the UW campus? I rarely visit the place as I want to forget the school experience there. However, if I ever do, it will be creepy.

  90. Discussing with some friends lately new vehicles. Many are sticking to the type of vehicle that they currently have now (CUVs, pickups, sedans, etc). So we got on the topic of what vehicle would interest you that is outside of your norm but would be an appropriate daily driver to replace the type of vehicle that you currently own. This is not a "what ultimate vehicle would you choose if money were no issue" scenario. It's a scenario where you don't get the vehicle you prefer; for me that means no pickup or SUV. So I'll start this off. If I were buying a vehicle today outside of a pickup or SUV, I would choose: 1) 2014 Chevrolet Impala - I'm smitten by this new Impa…

  95. An old friend of mine wants me to come out there and do a new landscape for him. I'm actually considering doing it. The thing is, though, everything is different so I need to give myself a crash course in California landscaping befoe I can even determine if it is doable. So, I could use any information and or pics anyone local to that area could provide. I need some local supplier connections too.

Well today I got to thinking... I'm going to buy some steelies and winter/all season tires for the Cobalt come winter time. I'll guess that'll easily be $800-1200, right? Hmmm... This is the new thought: What if I were to store the Cobalt during the coldest months of Michigan? What if, instead of buying steelies and all that, I keep the Cobalt in the garage and buy myself a cheap fixer upper? Beyond that, what if I find a good running vehicle (domestic SUV or truck preferably) for under $1000 (I'm thinking closer to $500-800), fix it, and re-sell it when I'm done for possibly more than what I bought it for? How will I do that? Read on... I know how to restore paint t…

So, I used to do these threads over at MT, and I think I'm going to start them back up here. The premise is simple. I'll post two or more vehicles and you decide which one you'd want. You can decide this based on if you were spending your own money, if they were free, however. The vehicles may all be in one class, or they may be totally different. I'll give a hint as to what is contained in the thread title. It sparks up discussion, it's fun to fantasize, and it takes some thought. So after some back story, here are your first choices- A piece over @ R&T made this a simple duo to start off with. Two vehicle that have battled it out for over 2 decades both …
