I was just looking at the Autoblog pics from the Cruze press event this last week. I couldn't help but notice a warning light in the gauge cluster that reads "AUTO" and has a windshield logo above it (Picture attached). Latest Motor Trend has article comparing the HHR, Mazda 3s, Dodge Caliber and Toyota Matrix. They placed the Mazda first, now I will say that all in all the Mazda is a pretty nice overall vehicle. however I was very disappointed to see the place the Matrix 2nd and the HHR 3rd. After all, isn't the Vibe GM's worst vehicle as far as quality goes? I am interested to know if the Volt design had been the Cruze, would you consider it more interesting, or functional, or desirable than the Cruze? I am not at all bringing the hybrid into the question. If the Cruze had arrived with the Volt's styling (with obviously more interior space returned because of no battery) would the Cruze seemed more attractive? I have to admit. On styling alone and with the hatchback, the Volt as a Cruze would have actually been the game changing small car for Chevy that is still the jury that will be out on the Cruze. Well since no one else has said anything I thought I might post this so we are not the only GM site without a thread on the ZL1 performance. This week the cover has been pulled off the road test of the Zl1. Ive seen a couple computer generated pics and it looks very similar to Jetstream blue and Opel Arden blue , but those computr images dont represent the colors well at all . Just drove past the local Chevy dealership here in Portland Maine and there is was a fully loaded 2007 Silverado. I didn't really look it over it's dark out but there out and they look great so much better than in any of the pictures we've seen so far.

Did anyone else see it? There is a Tundra parked on the side of the road. A guy driving a Silverado pulls up and asks the owner if he needs a ride. Now, for a split second I was expecting and hoping that the reason for the Tundra being on the side of the road was a snapped camshaft. While it was disappointing that this was not the case, it was also AWESOME that the reason was the Tundra RAN OUT OF GAS. The commercial then went on to illustrate the same regarding the Ford F-150. Note too the talk of the D2XX platform that will replace the Delta II and Theta. hi guys, im a new user and would like to know the difference between the sierra/silverado HD and those which don't carry the HD badge. I've owned a '79 5.7L suburban, a 7.4L suburban, a vortec 7.4L suburban and currently a vortec 8.1L suburban. all were great cars with good off road ability. i'm about to buy a used 2003 GMC sierra 2500HD and wondering if it's worth the HD badge when it comes to: power and torque, towing, off-roading, durability, non overheating, engine life. thanks

I was able to hear from Al Oppenheiser yesterday and here are some of the things non majore he related. The new Camaro convertible is in winter testing. Yes even with the roof down. He noted they are adding some more structure to the car and it will be nearly coupe like. He said no one should be disapointed in the chassie stiffness. He noted they are building Camaro's as fact as they can but have run into tire supply issues. It seems the Tires come from Brazil and are flown to Canada to arrive in time. General Motors will be putting a halt on production of the current Volt starting next month. According to The Detroit News, General Motors will put the Detroit-Hamtramck on a six-week break to not only get the plant ready to build the next-generation Volt, but also reduce the amount of Volts sitting on dealer lots. “First-generation Volt will stop building at the very end of May to get ready for model change,” said GM spokeswoman Michelle Malcho. So we were in Fitchburg looking at a house (which was an interesting story in and of itself). On our way out of the city we passed by a Chevrolet dealership. On the lot was an Equinox FCV. I thought that was both very cool and quite peculiar. I was not expecting to see one of these in person, least of all at a dealership in some unimportant medium-sized city.

While everyone has been going gaga over the possible fruition of the mid-engine Corvette, there is another juicy Corvette just around the corner. A spy photographer has gotten some up close photos of the next Corvette ZR1. Engineers have done their best to cover up the front, but there are some details that can be pulled out. First are the large vents on the bumper and a massive air intake. All of that air is needed if there is a 700 horsepower 6.2L supercharged V8 under the hood (according to rumor) along with massive brakes. Has anyone seen the new Malibu commercial? It shows a Camry, then this suspensful music and the camera pans to the Malibu's imposing front end and up comes the text "CAMRY BEWARE" Car & Driver, November 2007" with the accompanying voice saying "Malibu, the car you cant ignore." It's a pretty good commercial. Short, and gets its point across.

In a Chevy dealership I saw an Equinox with a different front end. Is that a new front end for ALL Equinoxes or just a special edition?

Found it intersting that the GM Canada web site has a section all about the Nomad. Also, they have a questionaire about possible car buyers, when they are going to buy and what cars they are considering. It has a multiple choice format (you can't type in your choice). One of the choices preset is the Nomad!
