I have been really busy lately with school and work so I haven't had the time to post as much as I would like. Anyway, here is a quick update... Here is how the Trans Am has looked since October - This has been my winter ride for the last few months. 1991 Buick Riviera - 157k miles, Series 1 3800, I put in a new head unit and speakers, nice cushy seats.

A couple weeks ago, there was a little accident on the farm. One of the guys we have working for harvest sideswiped my dads 04 Silverado with a piece of equipment. Destroyed the whole driver side of the pickup. The insurance company totalled it. Hopefully tomorrow my dad will be picking up a 2008 Silverado LT1. Optioned for the 5.3, the 3.73, and trailering package. Nothing too special, but will be much nicer than his 04 Silv. LS. If he gets it tomorrow I will try to snap a few pics.

$800 1997 Saturn SW2 ~200k on body semi-rebuilt engine (new head, lower end inspected & in good condition) interior needs work body is good some performance parts seller included all his s-series specific parts, which somewhat fill both the wagon and the suburban (not crammed full, but all floor space is taken up), including a couple full sets of wheels and some nearly brand new studded snow tires, and a ton of other stuff. Still deciding if I'm going to fix & flip the car, or fix it up & do up some vinyls for my business (web design, computer repair, etc).

Slate blue ext. cab with dark/light titanium interior. LOVE IT!!! And BTW... the turn signal if tapped (usually happens when someone is lane changing and too lazy to hold the stalk) flashes three times before turning off. Love this new truck! I'll post photos soon...

This is my 2003 Chevy Malibu LS it has the 3100 LG8 V6... Its my first car and i really didn't know if i was going to like it at first, but then i drove it a little and i fell in love. It's LG8 pushes 170hp stock which isn't horrible for a car its size. The 3100lbs it wieghs is heavy but tolerable. I love the feel of stepping on the accelerator and i want to do some engine work now... suggestions would be great!

My collection of Cobalt photography since the summer. You'll see a slight transformation mid-way through, a result of frustration. Some pictures aren't terribly high quality either, with some obvious photoshop tweaks.

Ah, those luscious locks of the American redneck just sprouted from my scalp like never before! I have just purchased the poster child for all things 'Murica, the Pontiac Firebird. It will gradually replace the Avalon as I look to sell that car. But you're probably not interested in that. The details: 1998, 3800 V6, 5-speed, T-Tops, and just under 124k. No rust, a few scratches here and there, a small dent from the previous owner's kid, and originally a whole lot of muck. After a full detail, it shines up fairly well and looks fairly good for its age.

Click Here For The Full Gallery I finally uploaded a gallery of my work on the Golf. All photos are in mostly sequential order with captions to note the progress. It took me 10 months from when I bought it at the end of November to when I got it inspected at the start of this month. There was alot of down time in between the work I did. Total working time was about a month. Started out as a $500 purchase... I've spent of total of roughly $2,000. To be honest, $400 of that was lost to a scam unfortunately, and then another $400 can be accounted for with parts I bought and decided not to use. Overall, there's about $1,000- $1300 in the car itself. I haven't quite worked ou…

I am anxious to see what kind of mpgs this thing gets cruising down the highway! I will let you know when I get back next week!

As I've been saying for months, the Camaro (black, 3.8L Series II, A4 for those who are new) was going to get a makeover for spring break. Therefore, we've got pictures of before and after... What happened was all performance. GT2 Camshaft, Pushrods, 105 lb Valve Springs, Modified Steel LS1 Valve Retainers, 2 new valve keepers (lost 'em lol), ceramic-coated Pacesetter headers and y-pipe, 180 degree high-flowing thermostat, new plugs/wires, 3.72 gears, Zexel-Torsen Limited Slip Differential, 32mm front swaybar (vs. 28mm stock), and heavyduty endlinks for the swaybar. So I get a call from my wife yesterday. She says, "You shouldn't leave me home alone unsupervised". With that my mind wonders thinking maybe she caught the house on fire, broke something, etc. I then ask her why, She says that while looking at the vehicles for sale from the State of Oregon she saw a 2000 Camaro Z28 with an LS1 for sale that used to be a police vehicle. It only had 15 minutes left until the end of the auction and she couldn't get ahold of me so . . . as you could have guessed she bought it. At $3750, it was a steal. It didn't make me mad, it made me want her to full fill her duties as a wife. :AH-HA_wink: You can check it out the car at; 2000 C…

I FINALLY have a bona fide winter warrior! Introducing my 1979 Caprice Classic sedan: http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/1979caprice/Welcome.html Some of you may've already noticed the page on the website that Ray B created for me ... Ray included a link to the "Winter Beater Caprice" in the left column of the home page: www.chevyasylum.com/cort This dark blue and silver Caprice is my first true "2-tone" car; I've wanted a 2-tone for a LONG time. I've been looking for a winter beater for a while, but with my 1987 Monte Carlo LS/CL starting to show a bit more rust on it this year than it had since I bought it in mid-2003, this was THE year to ensure it hibernated for th…

We closed on our home using GMAC so we thought we would continue to support GM by buying a new GM car. Really Roach II was costing us over $500 a month in gas so when we did the math it was cheaper to buy a new Cobalt on a monthly basis and in the long run. When everything is added up, inlcuding the payment, we now spend $50 less per month to run the Cobalt than to run Roach II. There wasn't a 5 speed LS coupe in Blue Granite Metallic so we got a base with cruise and a spoiler. So far we are getting over 40 mpg consistently. At this point we already have over 1700 miles. My wife is now considering the sale of Roach II as she has fallen in love with…

I'll explain what I mean by "homecoming." Never did I think I'd drive my car across the international border between the stare of New York and province of Ontario, with a destination of Toronto. I was a little on edge, given that Toronto has grown so much since I last drove in it. I knew my way around Vancouver fairly well, even with the growth. I wonder if border agents have heard the explanation that, in addition to visiting Toronto, someone wanted to take their car to "see" its "birthplace." Well, being in Toronto means being a little more than 30 minutes from Oshawa, the lauded GM plant at which my car was built. In addition to seeing Toronto, I thought I'd …

A common source of kvetching from my brother since he began driving the Regal was that its OEM CD/Cassette stereo doesn't have an AUX jack for iPod purposes. Double-DIN sized head units that look like they fit with the car are more expensive and theft magnets. They also would sacrifice the functionality of the redundant steering wheel controls. Casette and FM modulators always seem to leave something in the audio quality department as well. Then, not too long ago, I was watching Saabkyle04 on YouTube review his new 1995 Roadmaster Limited and I noticed he managed to get his hands on a Buick Monsoon Audio stereo that had been refurbished and in this process had an AUX ja…

Went the next county over to check out cars for mom today. I helped her wash up her Kia Forte because she wanted to see what it was worth. She ended up signing paperwork on a 2021 Kia Soul LX in Mars Orange with gray and black interior. For about $500 more MSRP v. a Hyundai Venue SE, she got a bigger, nicer car overall, and it's what she really wanted. She's tickled. I drove it back from the dealership, it's a nice driving little car. And since cost was of paramount concern, the fact that her lease payments are $2.00 LESS per month than her unloved Forte, it makes me feel better that she can comfortably afford it.

Not sure if I had posted anything on the car we inherited from Grandpa last December. 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. He gave it to us last December and then his health quickly declined and he passed away in January this year. He must have known something was up. He was 93. He had still been driving it occasionally up until about 6 months before he died. we did put a bunch of money into misc things and right now it’s throwing a check engine light. Emissions related, they tell me. It’s the venerable 3800 motor. Runs great! Got a fresh oil change today. So I figured what the heck and got it washed for my daughter as well. A few months ago we got a full interior and exte…

I picked up some stock brushed aluminum Pontiac wheels this summer with the intentions of putting some winter tires on them. I put it off all summer, but when we saw some snow last week I decided it was time to go home from school for the weekend and get this done. The wheels were really dirty and had a lot of the clear coat peeling off. First I cleaned them all with some water and steal wool. Then I sanded off the rest of the clear coat and put tape around the tires. The paint that I chose is called gunmetal, and is a silver/black with a little bit of sparkle to it. So after some primer and a few layers of the paint, thats where I am right now. I am going to wai…

So I took a ride up to New Hampshire on Friday morning and this little guy followed me home: About three weeks ago or so now, on the way back from a junkyard with SpeedingPenguin, I spotted this thing sitting up at the road in front of a local garage. Being a fan of big tanks in general, and the Cadillacs of 1971 in particular (I love those separated quads; they make the car look ten feet wide!), I of course made it a point to stop and look at it, and I'm glad I did. The car has just about 103K on it, but was taken care of very well; the body has no rot really anywhere save for a tiny amount on the bottom of the rear quarters, and the black interior is perfect, save fo…

Well, I picked it up yesterday and the salesman seemed more pumped to hand me over this beast. He said it was the first one the dealership recieved so everyone was asking about the truck. Ive already used up about a 1/4 of a tank and have yet to really open it up to see how much power it has. . . but let me tell ya. . . the 5.3 I test drove has nothing on the 6.0. Im stilling in the process of finding new options that I never knew this truck had, like "curb view" option and such. It snowed about 2 inches last night so im going to put the AutoTrac thru it's paces to see how well it conects. So I should have some pics by tomorrow, I have a nice backdrop in…

A 2021 GMC Canyon Denali - White with Cocoa/Dark Atmosphere interior. Big change from the CTS but not the first truck I have had. It's been a number of years now but I have had two S10's and two Rangers through the years. So why a Canyon you ask? Well, I decided I wanted a truck for towing the camper and full size, while very nice, just didn't suit our needs. It doesn't fit in the garage and would be hard to get around when parked in the driveway. I did really want the 3.0L Duramax, though, so I gave it some serious thought. I was either going to get a truck or buy the Cadillac. Eventually decided on either a Colorado or Canyon but the initial stop at a Chevy and …

For anyone wondering what it looks like after the body shop got done with it. Good friend turned in his 2014 Malibu company car and got a 2020. He's impressed! Simple white LT with black cloth. Checked it out the other day and remembered many reasons why i like this current version of the Malibu so much, especially considering I had a 2016 myself. Already he's raving about the fuel economy, size, interior design, comfort. Too bad Chevy can't promote this more. I think an AWD Malibu and a more accessible price on a 2.0 turbo would help. One of Chevy's best shapes in the last 20-30 years....

So now that my girlfriend Jessica is up here with us, so is her car, the infamous Prizm. This also happens to be the first GM car to be in my family (we are traditionally Chrysler owners, and even though it's technically a Corolla, hey it's at least got a GM badge on it)I decided to take some pics and show everyone. Now, these pics have been taken after I've replaced a lot of the broken stuff on her car: - HVAC knobs - 2 broken and wouldn't stay on - Interior driver's door handle - housing broken off - Exterior driver's door handle - handle broken clean off - Rear view mirror - adjuster broken, wouldn't stay in place - Driver's door Window Regulator - broken to &…

Chalk this one up to just being the right place at the right time--BIG time. Currently in my grandparent's stable, my grandmother has a '99 Intrigue GX 3.8 that they bought as a demo in '99 with 5k on it, and my grandfather has both a '94 Ford Aerostar extended XL that he bought as a demo in '95, and a '97 F-150 stripper truck. The Intrigue is for her general driving, as well as their runs to church as such, the truck for his daily outings, and the van is kept in the garage most all of the time, and only ever used for longer trips. The Aerostar is beyond immaculate, and in great colors even, and at 12+ years old, barely over 90k, but he really had been wanting somethin…

I posted FQ and CarDomain pages for it... http://fquick.com/garages/viewvehicle.php?id=2733 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2517184 CarDomain is laid out better, I haven't had time to figure out FQ's layout yet, but all the pictures are in both sites. The car had no problems making it 57 miles home. Everything works but the AC and the radio. Clock works, dome light works, so radio should work, I'll look into it later. The AC is known to be a locked up compressor, but I haven't checked to see if it's still R-12 or if it's been converted to R-134a. The biggest driveability problem with this car is that it doesn't like to start when cold. You have to hold the gas to t…

::WARNING!! NOT 56K FRIENDLY (SORRY BV):: This afternoon I took out the Buick once more to get some daytime photos...dust really...it was horribly hot and humid today...so it was the best time to not bake. As I mentioned before, the car's really temperamental on cold starts. I had it pulled into the driveway, so I started it and backed out...then it stalled on me while I was crooked and facing up on the hill...probably a funny sight for the couple cars that went by. Basically it took about 10 minutes of sitting there with my foot gently on the gas to warm her up. Once she was warmed up she was fine...probably needs a carburetor rebuild or at least a good tune. I also …

While I'm at it, I should update you guys on what Josh drives. Having done the switch between his Civic, Tiburon, and Outlook, he decided he didn't really need the extra space of a massive Lambda. Back in March, he traded it in for his first new car, one that is decidedly smaller. As you can see, he bought a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic LT. He decided to buy one with the 1.8L and 5spd manual. Options include the 16" wheels and fog light package, as well as the Mylink premium audio system. After 10k miles, he's pretty happy with it, though not as happy as he could be. He's had to have it in to the dealership 3 times for warranty work thus far. First two times for a faulty c…

A local junkyard has a wrecked 1988 Cadillac Brougham with a supposedly good 307 for $375. The engine in my LeSabre runs fantastically for what it is. It burns/leaks oil and has a rod knock, but it keeps going and going and going. Someday, its going to quit going, I've accepted that. But if I can grab essentially the same engine, tear it down, make sure everything is copacetic, and reassemble it, how difficult would it be to yank the old motor and drop the "new" one? I'm most worried about transmission (THM200-4R, shouldn't be a problem) and emissions devices. We dont have smog testing in this part of the state, so would bypassing all that crap be an option? This …

Well, The days are numbered with the Jeep :( I recently started my own business that requires more the 4 cu. ft. of storage so I decided it was time to look for a truck. . . after two weeks of being at every GMC and Chevy dealership in 50Km radius, I decided to go with the GMC Sierra. Although I really like the new hoods on the '06 Silverado's. . .but the whole "We Are Professional Grade" advertising really worked for me. I really wish I could wait untill the 07 Sierra but since it's still some time away. . . I bought a 2006 GMC Sierra SLT w/ the vortex performance package. Now with 345Hp, My "HEMI" buddy will be running for t…

hey guys, I just put a deposit on a white on tan 1995 Buick Riviera I found on Ebay, I test drove it today and it drove great. It is supercharged and has 64k miles on it. The only flaws I've found on the car so far are the traction control button falls into the dash when I went to test it, also the "R" in the grill is being held on with a ziptie, the maker light in the rear bumper on the left side is out and one bulb in the third stop light is out....otherwise it's damn near mint, save a few scratches....here this is it, check it out....The guy told me he would end the auction but its still posted for some reason so I am a little pissed but anyway here she is... My Ri…

I had to hang with an Impala for a day until I got switched into a Monte Carlo. This was a 3.5 and en route to the Palm Springs area, I spotted a Bob's Big Boy in Calimesa off I-10 (SCREEEECH). Actually, I stopped to eat (YUUUUUMMMMM) and take the photo on the way back. Chevrolet Monte Carlo 3.5 at Bob's Big Boy, Calimesa, CA Then, upon returning it, I spotted this Monte Carlo LT 3.9 at the Burbank airport. If I were to opt for the MC, this is virtually identical to how I would order it. This particular vantage point is attractive...a couple of angles on this car can be clumsy. YOU LIKE? I know KnightFan does. I know Pantho does not.

A not so great pic of my Avi, a Christmas present from the hubby, and his red short wide. The bike was new, but it's been traded for an '07 GSXR 600. I'll get a better pic of my baby when the weather clears up.

Hey guys, I figured you might like to see this. Two weekends ago, my girlfriend convinced me to start looking for a new car. I was driving a 2004 Focus that had cost me $3600 in fixes last year, and I was being too stubborn to look for a new car since I'm very dedicated on knocking down my student loans. Eventually I realized she was right and that I should get something relatively new so I don't have to be friends with the mechanics shop anymore. My main requirements were: manual transmission, 2008+ MY, <40,000 miles, relatively good fuel economy, and relatively good acceleration. So my initial list was: Sonic LTZ or RS MazdaSpeed 3 Fiesta ST Cooper S VW GTI A3 / A…

However, all of that is changing in 2016. The partnerships and joint ventures are being left behind. Unfortunately, Ford’s line of medium duty trucks has not been updated as often as its other lines have. Since 2003, this line has only received moderate tweaks here and there. For the first time in a decade, the 2016 Ford F650 features an all new layout. Among the many new exciting features the line…

We just acquired a 2005 BMW 325xi sedan with the purposes of turning it into a show car. We intend to feature all of the interior and exterior accessories we carry on it and we will be posting before, during and after photos of the entire makeover. We will also be making videos of each and posting them to our YouTube channel and our site. The project is expected to take between 6 months to a year to complete but so far the we have planned the following modifications and upgrades: - A complete Duraflex body kit (Retails for $1135.87): http://www.rvinyl.com/2005-BMW-325xi-Body-Kits/!/ED-106516.html -Compete vehicle wrap: We haven't decided between Matte Black or …

No, not for me. Dad has ANOTHER. Given that he sold the '93 Fleetwood to my younger brother, who still lives with them, dad is up to 4 cars himself. Both the '96 and '00 Subaru's and the '68 Coronet project. The Subaru's are both questionable now with overheating and tempormental issues, the '96 of which he spent a nice amount on at an "import mechanic" to do head gaskets and it was never right again after, still issues. That one is for sale, and the also tempormental 2000 remains. So he bought a 4th. Why not. Just keep adding. Found a '94 S-10 with the 2.2L and automatic, bed cover and all. Clean history and extremely well kept. I don't know much about the 2.2L but he …

Here are some pictures of my Impala taken in my back yard in September 2006. It's Superior blue with the semi-rare blue deluxe cloth interior(sorry, no interior pics at the moment). Other than the deluxe cloth (which has the fold down back seat), it has the 1SB option package, CD/cassette stereo and the aluminum wheels. I added the Impala badges on the fron fenders, and replaced the chrome one on the trunk with a body colored one. Other than that, if you've seen one Impala you've seen them all... just that this one happens to be mine.

Well, many of you know the vehicles my family owns: 2007 Buick Rendezvous 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS/SC 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix 1990 Chevy Cavalier Coupe Well, we mainly have the Cavalier for insurance and "oh $h!" purposes. However, in order to get it running smoothly in an "oh $h!" instance, we'd have to spend a few hundred on a new door or two, battery, and radiator at the very least. So, seeing that we haven't started it in a few months, and haven't run it in over a year, we're finally getting rid of it. It will be a donation, and a sad one to see go since I've grown up with that car. Also, the Grand Prix will have seen its days with …

It was a nice day out but at the same time rather warm (85 degrees!). I discovered today that the Intrepid's A/C wasn't very cold. So I bought a couple cans of R134a (one for the Intrepid and one for the Shadow, (because I know it needs it). Took some time but after an hour or two I had both cars blowing out ice cubes. Then I cleaned out the interiors, and finished off with a rinse to the exteriors. They'll need a more formal cleaning inside and out but a rinse couldn't hurt. This is especially true for the Shadow, as the poor thing wasn't washed once all winter...making it look even worse than it is. After I finished I snapped some late afternoon photos while the cars …

The album includes a few good pictures of my '68 Camaro SS and my '73 Camaro Z28/RS. It also includes a picture of my daily driver; the Focus ZX3 before it got smashed and as a bonus, the pictures of the infamous camry rental from a year ago. Hey C&Gers, I signed (most of) the papers on the Bonneville I'd been looking at since February (!). I take delivery of it tomorrow sometime (though, unfortunately, not in time for me to drive it to DC for class ). Got the 2-year warranty mainly 'cause we can't afford to replace a tranny anytime soon... that was about all that was extra that I paid for. Pics coming later this week... probably Thursday.

Yeah,s o I got a new cell phone yesterday, since my old piece of crap was dying. It's nothing overly fancy, a Virgin Mobile Cyclops, but it has a 1.3 megapixel camera, which for the price of $30 is unbeatable...most the the prepay phones have like .3 megapixels and cost closer to $100. As I was heading to work this morning I decided to try out the camera and take a photo of my car,a nd inadvertantly got the other 2 cars in the photo too,s o besides the Merc, which is in the driveway, it's a pic of the fleet, so what the hell, I felt like sharing. You can see one of the Shadow's new doors too. I still want to get a Cannon S5 IS though

Well, my Bonneville was getting oh so dirty. The cloth seats had crumbs in them (a first for this car) the carpet was dirty and had grass shaving, the car had 5 weeks of dirt on it, the tires weren't shiney, and the exhuast tips had 24 weeks of black dirt build up on them. It was time to clean her, sadly the SLE didn't get waxed only washed and detailed. On Saturday afternoon I washed the car for my son as he went to his last homecoming of his high school career with a cute friend of his. And me being ths softy I am washed it for him and then let him drive it! What was I thinking? Anyways I am sure he got the cobs out of it, prolly not a bad thing, but not that I don'…

After some pushing and shoving I finally got my wife to upgrade her Suburban to a newer one. We recently picked up a 1999 K2500. In regards to the fun parts, it has a 454 with a 3.73 rear end, skid plates, and the 2000 and up rims. The girls call it the fire truck because it's red, though it does have silver on the lower clading area. The badges say LT, but it has the LS equipment and you can tell someone switched them along the way. The equipment is a little odd, even for an LS. The mirror is electrocomatic with a compass, but it doesn't have the temp gauge as was standard. There is also no remote entry, though they could have been lost on the way. Do any o…
