http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/motoring...olet_ultra.html This part of the article jumped out at me... I tend to think the writer is being a little optimistic here: " With a production version that’s set to look virtually identical to the concept going on sale in 2008, the newcomer is primed to cause a real stir in the compact family hatch market. " What I do see is the evolution of the Chevy grille already - with the upper part of the grille getting a twist inward. You'll see what I mean when you get a look at the Chevy Colorado SEMA concept that is going to emulate this front-end look (still embargoed).

  3. 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs. 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Comparison Test Sit Down, Brace Yourself Then, just as we were convinced the GT500's power was utterly untouchable, we moved on to handling tests and things changed. Our first hint that there's something truly special about Chevy's ZL1 came when it calmly circled the skid pad at 1.03g β€” a number higher than the last Chevy Corvette ZR1 we tested and matching the McLaren MP4-12C and Porsche 911 GT2 RS for the highest lateral acceleration we've ever recorded for a production car. Wait. Isn't this a Camaro? Yes, yes it is. The best Camaro ever. At 70.8 mph it was also quicker through the slalom than the GT500, w…

The Colorado will come in at $20,995 (includes a $895 destination charge) and the Canyon will start at $21,880 (includes a $925 destination charge). Standard equipment on both models include a 2.5L DI four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and six-speed manual. 6. We have to admire the chutzpah put on display by a spy photographer when getting these shots of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. A video shows one of them running up to one of the mules when sitting in traffic with a magnet in hand. The goal was to see if the bed was made out of aluminum - something we have been hearing about the next-generation Silverado. What the video reveals is that the Silverado mule is using a steel bed with a 'clang' of the magnet attaching to the bed. Does this mean that the production Silverado and GMC Sierra will stick with steel beds in the next-generation? That is tough to say since we don't know how along GM is in the development cycle…

2007 Chevrolet Tahoe A most impressive full-size effort. by Eric Peters (2006-01-02) There's a lot riding on the '07 Tahoe-much more than just a new body and revised chassis. GM badly needs for its popular full-size SUV (and its shared platform stablemates, the new '07 Caddy Escalade, GMC Yukon and the long-wheelbase Suburban) to hold the line against the burgeoning onslaught of large SUVs from Nissan (Armada) and Toyota (the coming '07 Tundra/Sequoia), some of which have already made significant incursions into territory that used to be the exclusive domain of U.S. automakers. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com August 30, 2013 With the seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette making its way to the production line, the rumors are beginning to fly on the model in the hopper, the Z06. Car and Driver got their hands on some information and it looks like General Motors wants to one up the Z06, literally. To start, the next-generation Z06 will be called the Z07. This makes sense as the Corvette is entering its seventh-generation. Or maybe not. Power will come from a small-block V8, but not a large displacement one. Instead, C&D reports that the V8 likely use a single or twin-turbochargers producing around 600+ horsepower. Their re…

That is a Chevy convertible from every year of manufacture EXCEPT 1939... The reason? - Chevy didn't make a convertible in '39 -- and ended its convertible line in '75!

I'm not sure of performance comparisons between the old 4.3L and the new 3.9L variable timing V-6, whenever it becomes available. The 3,4L sure doesn't have it! With the clock winding down on production of the Holden Commodore, Chevrolet dealers are snapping the remaining lot of SS models being exported to the U.S. Wheels has learned from Chevrolet that the extra 1,000 SS models Holden was planning to build for the U.S. market have been snapped up. β€œAll US dealer orders are in for the allocated production of the 2017 Chevrolet SS. This includes any additional units that were confirmed for production last year,” said Chevrolet. Originally, Holden was planning on building 2,000 SS for the U.S. However, the large demand by dealers for the last SS models caused Holden to add an additional 1,000 models for export. Sourc…

  56. Tesla's production hell seems to be only getting worse than better. Various issues at their Freemont plant has caused the automaker to push back their goal of producing 5,000 Model 3s from late last year to June of this year. This, in turn, has caused some holders of Model 3 reservations to have their order pushed back to 2019. β€œAs we work hard to meet demand, we wanted to let you know that your estimated delivery timing has been adjusted to a slightly later window,” Tesla said in an email to customers. According to Bloomberg, the new date depends on when the reservation was placed and what model was chosen. Tesla is trying to get the more expensive long-range b…

Adding insult to injury, Lutz heard in late 2005 about a Silicon Valley company called Tesla Motors that was developing a high-performance electric car, which would sell for $100,000. "when pushed on wether GM was thinking about bringing back the El Camino off the zeta platform, lutz beemed with enthuisasm. "the kids in the company-my self included-would love to do another El Camino, but the grown ups amongst us dont shre that way of thinking". It woul be fairly simple. We would only have to put a chverolet face on the Holden Ute. (a car like pickup). The building blocks are there". I think GM need to listen to those "kids".

We rented an '07 Cobalt Coupe in Denver last weekend. Overall, it was a solid little car, and even after lots of flogging up and down mountainous roads, we averaged over 30 mpg...EXCELLENT! If there were any detractors, it would be the hard interior plastics and the wheezy-whiny mechanical noises from the engine. Of course, we're accustomed to driving cars in a different class - in our garage is a new Subaru Legacy and new Honda Civic. Also, for comparison notes, I recently rented an '07 PT Cruiser (handled almost a good as my Civic!!) and an '07 Jetta (supple, fast, but with weird engine noises). My final take: the Cobalt is an attractive, easy driver.

Despite the fact that GM Chairman Rick Wagoner originally said the 2010 Camaro would be "virtually identical" to designer Sangyup Lee's concept that debuted at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show, Lutz confirmed that the production Camaro will in fact have a B-pillar, making it a standard coupe instead of a traditional hardtop coupe.
