How about that. Two dates in early mid-May with GnR before they head off on their tour overseas. Seems the CD is imminent. Can't wait!! Here's a pretty good source of GnR information. Check out the quotes near the bottom. http://www.newgnr.com/newgnr.html

Okay, so I go into the kitchen to make myself a ham sandwich. As I'm walking out of the room, a piece of ham falls and hits the linoleum. Okay, fine. Go to rinse it off and the piece I'm holding onto decides to rip off and the ham falls into a bowl from dinner. Scrumptious. New piece of ham, please.

Talk about ground clearance!! That thing sat lower than my Lumina. I could not stop laughing my ass off when I was behind this, on a two lane road. Then the dude cut me when the road became 4 lane.

Go See a F'in Movie if You Want F'in Stunts Wednesday 13th October, 2010 by "black-knight" Advertising. This occupational field has gave us so many great, classic television ads, especially when it came to transportation, be it recreational or personal. Ads, for example, that made us think about . But so many great ads were left on the cutting room floor. That's what I'm sharing with you now, what has to be the best outtake from Ford's era of advertising in the early 1990s. Of all time. Ever. First you'll watch what the route Ford decided to take when they pussied out. Then you'll see the approach that would have been the clear winner. Honestly, I think Fo…

I dont care who you vote for or which amendments or propositions you vote for or against or which judges you vote to keep or remove from the bench, just go fu*king vote. Its a midtern election, sure it doesn't have the sex appeal of a presidential election, but you've been putting up with political ads for months, go make that suffering worthwhile.

Well, a couple weeks ago there wasn't much work to do at work, so I got off early a couple days... as a result, I decided to detail the Goat, which was a bit dirty. In all, it took about 6 hours if I remember correctly, and I didn't even touch the interior. Washed it, clayed it, washed it again, and then waxed it with some great 3M wax (some of the best out there). After waxing the body, I waxed the wheels and shined the tires. The results:

I've learned I love junkyards. About 2 weeks ago, the theater dimming on the dash on the '92 Regal went on the fritz. I walked into Borders one evening, had coffee for an hour, and came back to see that the dash lights were STILL ON. I had to pull the panel fuse every time I left the car at night. I contacted a couple of Buick parts departments and they told me the dimming feature and the "lights-stay-on for 30 seconds after shutting door" was in the expensive light switch...a light switch costing over $ 300!!! I had to go to Portland over Columbus Day, so I found several old Regals at several pick-n-pulls. Swtiches were generically priced at under $ 10. I just inst…

OK I start a new Job in Germany on September 1st. So I decided to go with a new look, I decided to go with a full beard. So far most of my life I have been clean shaven, but I did have a moustache in my early 30's and a trimmed beard for a while in my 30's too and a goatee for the last 6 months. I've let it grow the last week and it is coming in quite full. Anyone else have a full beard, or had one in the past, any pointers you can give or advice? Let me know.

Attention parents: It's not your kids that are making you go gray. Your hair is simply building up too much hydrogen peroxide. Bottle-blondes may be a fan, but hydrogen peroxide, which is produced naturally in the human body, interferes with melanin, the pigment that colors our hair and skin. The body also produces the enzyme catalase, which breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Or at least it does for a while. As we age, catalase production tails off, leaving nothing to transform the hydrogen peroxide into chemicals the body can release. So, as hydrogen peroxide builds up, we go gray, concluded researchers at the University of Bradford in the United …

We're going to see a movie then it'll be dark when the movie gets out, so we're going to take a walk down some pathways behind the one school (it's really nice back there) and it's a long enough walk to get to know her a lot better. Just wanted to let you all know that I won't be around for the next 3 days as I am taking the family on a mini-vacation to visit our nation's capital - Washington, DC. Two years ago we made this trek during the spring break and enjoyed it so much that we've been wanting to go back since. We took good old Amtrak back in 2007, but this time we'll be driving down in the AURA. Of course the weather isn't suppose to be so great on Tuesday and Wednesday, but we'll make the most of it (our plans include visiting a lot of museums these two days). Should be back late Wednesday and will likely post again on Thursday (I'll need a day to recouperate before heading to NYC on Frida…

this one is going to come completely out of left field for me, but right now I've gone more or less completely stir-crazy. Its been two days and two nights of having the house to myself and its TOO quiet!!!!!! I'm so used to having my wife and girl around the house that spending the past two nights alone has been hell for me. Can't sleep, can't really sit around the house and relax....can't really do anything. Its too quiet and its too peaceful around here!!!! I want them to come home.... I hate this feeling....its really weird.

Now thinking perhaps a Mustang convertible for the week. My boss invited the few members of my department to attend a conference in Phoenix Thursday through Sunday (11/29-12/2). I'll be staying at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and will be at the Phoenix Convention Center for the conference. There isn't too much free time Friday-Saturday, and I arrive late morning on Thursday. Anyone here from that area, or been to that area, that can tell me if there's something I should most defintely see? I may have free time Thursday afternoon, and it looks like the members of my team may be meeting for dinner Thursday night.

Yep, I'm going up to Chicago tomorrow for the auto show (first public day so it might be busy). Any requests anyone has for pics? I'll be sure to get plenty of the new stuff, but if there's something specific you want post it here ASAP, as I'm leaving before noon CST tomorrow. I'll be there Saturday as well, but I probably won't have access to the internet, so I likely won't see any requests posted after I leave.

Well, I don't know if there is a big golfing community in here or not, but I am looking for a new set before summer. My hand me down set of Taylor Mades that my dad gave to me when I started back in the late 90s are showing their age. I want to stick with a well known name brand, and would like to stick to graphite shafts. Other than that I am open for anything. Law school is looming on the horizon, which is going to require a move. I dont want to sell my house because of the incredible amount of equity I have in it (simple numbers appraisal value when I bought it-what I bought it for=FWD Acadia SLE; market value based on what a couple of houses down the block sold for-what I bought it for=2008 CTS) and the fact that they're doing a lot of improvements on my side of town, so I'm going to rent it out then rent someplace at school. Since I doubt I'll be able to get a job with the same income I have now, I'm going to have to move a bit on the cheap side, which would be easier without the Fusion and its full coverage insurance. As a Buick owner for 28 years and a current 2006 Buick Lucerne owner, it is with nostalgia that I say Good Bye to Buick. I am hopeful that Buick does not go the way of Oldsmobile. However, it is the forgotten stepchild of GM relegated to a small room in the attic. Tomorrow I take a last and longing look at this old friend as I step into the new world of my 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. I once swore never to darken the steps of the foreign auto market. But as the Buick I once knew slipped silently away into the attic room neglected I reluctantly yet with anticipation look forward to a new day in my hybrid. Farewell Old Friend!

Reading FOG's thread quiet praise for the Cavi and how well it did it's job, got me thinking: What are some good cars/trucks out there that most people may not think so highly of? I could start with a few: 1.)The Cavalier, of course. These cars tend to do pretty well in almost everything... it's kinda sad it was so far behind most of the time.... Pretty much everyone I know (there were a few bad apples) were/are pretty happy with their Cav. I've noticed the engines will easliy outlast the body. I had to finally get rid of my 93 (the 3.1 was still running strong at almost 150k) beacuse it was rusty.... They tend to hold up well to abuse, and are pretty cheap to fix.…

Anybody have some pretty memorable kills? I'll share two. The first was about a year or so ago. My dad and I were in the Durango and some punk in a riced out Civic was revving at us laughing. Funny thing is, when the light turned green, my dad brake torqued it a bit and took off, beating the Civic to the next light and the kid didn't look over nor rev. Idiot. Next is my one of two "best" kills in the Camaro (the other was against a mid-90s GT and was probably my best kill). But I raced a dude who was in a Hemi Ram. He said to go at green (we were both cruising Gratiot) and we did, but I got a terrible start. He said he started bad too (he lost nonethe…

Earlier this week, I had an "uh oh" moment on the way home. I was in the right lane of a 2-lane road and was trying to get over into the left lane. I kept checking my rearview mirror and glancing back to see if anyone was coming, but a Ford Explorer kept speeding up and slowing down such that I wasn't able to get over. In the meantime, the minivan ahead of me suddenly slammed on its brakes ... apparently because someone else had slowed down to turn right onto another street. At the time that I looked back ahead of me (I had been checking the rearview mirror), I panicked ... and hit the brakes, thinking I was going to hit the minivan. My '87 MC LS screeched to a halt …

So, I had to take my car to the body shop to get my bumper repaired after being rear-ended awhile back and I went to Enterprise to get my rental car and they had a shiny rental car white Dodge Stratus waiting for me. I casually asked if there were any GM products available and the girl goes "isn't dodge a GM vehicle?" and I just left it at that so they gave me the keys and I took off in my little four-banger. In a way, I'm kinda glad I didn't get a GM car because it would have made me want to trade in my 00 Grand Prix GT so driving the Stratus around made me hate every second of having a rental car. http://www.pcworld.com/article/168050/will..._chrome_os.html Will Consumers Take a Shine to Google’s Chrome OS? Todd R. Weiss Jul 8, 2009 11:30 am Will Consumers Take a Shine to Google’s Chrome OS?Americans love chrome on motorcycles and toasters, but will average consumers take a shine to the Google Chrome operating system? Google announced its lightweight Chrome computer operating system today and says consumers can expect it by the end of 2010. Google describes the operating system as lean and mean and perfect for small Internet-friendly devices that are both easy-to-use and transport - such as a Netbook. True, Netbooks are very popular with consumers right n…

Found this: gmaps Basically you can zoom in to certain places further than the normal on screen controls will allow by setting the zoom level in the URL (z=23). Wonder why they chose this part of Chad to take a detailed picture of??

This is a thread for random Google searches. Why? because I'm bored and happy. A deadly combination. Why? It just is. But why am I bored and happy? Well, it isn't very active around here at the moment and I made a discovery... Could someone please tell me what comes up if you search for "brookville pa chevy"? Yes, that is the reason for starting this thread. So shoot me... No, really, shoot me, damnit!

As I saw the forecast for Saturday on Friday night, I realized I had several options to take advantage of the gorgeous weather ... temperatures in the mid-70s with sunny skies: ...wash/wax/clean my '87 MC LS (plan to do that next weekend) ...take my older 4 Monte Carlos out for a drive ...go to a park and walk around ...go for a mini road trip somewhere ...explore Meadowdale International Raceway Park, located at Huntley Rd and IL RT 31, just north of where I live in IL: http://www.meadowdaleraceway.homestead.com/ ...among other things.... The option that won out was driving my older 4 MCs, particularly since I haven't had them out but one time this year, 2 weeks …

Browsing on PSP or BeOS? IE 2.0?! Netscape 3.0?! Firefox 0.9 and 1.5??? There is also someone who apparently is fairly regular, 2% of all hits, surfing on Windows 3.1. More common than all the linux hits combined.

Chevy Dealer Has 13 Caprice PPVs for Public Sale Like the rest of humanity, car enthusiasts are driven wild by cars they can’t have. So whether you’re talking about the ricers who spend a small fortune to import legitimate JDM Nissan Skylines, or millionaire Mopar fans who drop a million bucks on a bonafide HEMI ‘Cuda, people have proven that they are willing to pay a premium to own a car that almost nobody else has. But there are some cars that the public is just not supposed to get, like the 2012 Chevy Caprice PPV. This vehicle is for sale to police departments only. But thanks to a loophole in the contract with GM, a Maryland car dealership has 13 of these Australia…

Next-generation iPod Shuffle: 1 Gb (~240 songs), 8 hours battery. 1.6x1.1x0.46 inches, 0.55 ounces. CAD$90 / US$80. This thing is crazy small. I saw the pictures when I ordered it, but I still can't believe it now that it's here. It's got a clip on the back to clip in into your clothes, etc... I clip it into my work ID badge and hardly notice it's there. One thing I can't believe - the docking station loads all the data and charges the battery through the headphone jack! Oh, and just to be a smartass I ordered it with a message written on the back: "White headphones make you cool."

So I refinanced my 6 recently, from 4% to 2.24%. and from 5 years to 5.5 years. I was paying a little more than required previously to round it off at $500/month. Right now I'm planning to pay $200/2weeks, but the required is ~$360/month. what would you do? pay it off faster.... pay the minimum and bank the savings... something else?

TANGENTS TO SET UP THE STORY --- YOU GUYS KNOW HOW I LIKE TO TELL STORIES TANGENT 1 1) The Focus has had a really rough summer, as have I (worst headf**k I've been through since 2001) Firstly, I was motoring around the house and busted a shifter linkage. Ironically it was in the same place that I was stranded in the middle of the road back in 2005 when the 45 mph 18 wheeler took me out and totalled the first Focus I had. So, I decided that I WOULD NOT be stuck in the road there again and damn near melted the clutch to get the car up a hill. (It was stuck in 3rd). As a result the Focus was down for about a month since I live in Charlotte most of the time and didn't ha…

I went out for a little bike ride to work off last nights cookout, I went on a gravel trail that I've been riding for years. Somehow I managed to wipe out, even better I did it about 4 miles from civilization. I scraped my knees and elbows and managed to not whack my head on anything, which is always a plus. But my bike took a fair bit of abuse. The rear derailleur is all jacked up and the brake cable snapped, so I had to ride 4 miles back to the car without being able to shift and without rear brakes. It was fantastic. Even better, it started pouring on the way back, so I got to do the last mile in the rain, which at least washed all the blood off.

I retired my old Sanyo 8100 for a new black Sanyo 6600 Katana today. I can't stop looking at it, it's so cool. It's got all the good features: -Speakerphone -Camera -Bluetooth (bought a headset to go with it) -"True sound" ring tones (i.e. no polyphonic fakery -- "Twisted Transistor" isn't a series of beeps and tones) -...and so on Pretty good RAZR alternative if you don't have Cingular (I have Sprint). (This one is blue but Google failed in finding me a good pic of the black one.) Hey everyone been super busy lately. I got my license back after having it suspended for a DUI which I got because i was a complete idiot and drank and drove and I ran into a checkpoint. I sold my 2006 malibu SS to pay for the legal bills and to pay off the ballance of the car and a few other debts since I wasn't going to be driving for about 4 months. So I got it bacl about 3 days ago and I don't NEED a car right now but it ould be convienient to have and I WILL need a car come next school year. So thought about what cars I wanted for a good long while. First I wanted RWD, I was tired of FWD cars. For GM that left me the CTS, since I scratched a sky or solstice…

Well I got in to a huge argument that lead into me chucking a metric Cresent** wrench at the person. He started by saying that how much that chevy's suck (he is a ford guy so ill give him some credit). Then I get envoled and say Chevy makes some of the best cars and he says no Ford makes by far the best truck in the world. I said No they dont! It goes on and on. We start yelling at each other by now about the 350 vs 351. I made my argument about aftermarkets, Camaro's, and trucks. His base was that its faster and stronger and has way more displacement. Then we go into aftermarket. by this point Ryan a fellow buddy is holding me down while pat is holding down Patrick the g…

So I've turned in a few applications and resumes at plenty of local businesses the last few days of May and I'm expecting at least one interview. Of course, with a job comes money, and I plan on shoveling that money into another car. Sure, I've got the S-10 ... but I have this urge to buy a nice car (since I do already have a truck, all trucks, with the rare exception of a cheap Syclone, are out ... SUVs still make the cut, however) that I can drive out of town without feeling embarrassed about the S-10s worn out paint, miles of dings and dents, practically non-existing exhaust system ... among other things I still haven't sorted out for some reason. I plan on it ... but …

I was impressed by the ratings Ford got in the latest issue of cr. Someone at Ford must of found out who to pay off and how. Now it's GMs turn to find out who to pay off. They seemed to be all over the board. Oddley enough, there were a few GM cars that did great in JD Power but not so good with cr. I guess that goes back to my first statement. I did notice that the acura tl got a near perfect rating and the HHR did not. Funny, our experience is the complete opposite. Add to that, our Cobalt got a worst rating than our HHR. Not that either was bad, but our Cobalt actually was put together better in the end. With all the hoopla of cr not recommending the cam…

So I drop by my buddy's body shop today, and tghey are starting on two interesting projects...a 1968 firebird that is badly in need of a resto, but all original and untouched, a 350 4 speed numbers matching car. I can see that...I'll post pics if I get a chance... Second car is a HARD hit that the owner is sentimental about, and is making a large cash payment in addition to the insurance to repair. Car was hit so hard that it ripped the passenger door completely off the car, buckled the firewall, bent the A pillar, shoved the windshield out of the car, bent the dashboard, buckled the passenger floor boards (although not irrepairably) buckled the trunk floor and inner wh…

Okay, first off: it's *not* an olds-person's disease. It's basically a hereditary condition where your body makes too much of something called Uric Acid. It crystalizes in a joint (most commonly your big toe) and causes you a intense pain. The first time I had it, I couldn't stand the weight of my bed-sheets touching my big toe -- yes, it hurts that flipping bad. Well, it appears that I've got it in my small-toe -- and it hurts like a mother. Just got out of the doctor (they also found a lump in my wallet, badump-bump) & picked up my prescription. It's soooo lame to be tied up by something so small! I once had it in my knee (and the doctor needed to take a flu…

Or feel free to suggest something different but I think I am prolly getting a Garmin. I have a Garmin E-Trex for hiking and biking and just love it. I have owned it for about 4 years and it has been on many a trip out west. So feel free to chime in.

the onion is always good for a laugh. PENSACOLA, FL—Harold Enderby's friends say that when he first saw the Navy's televised announcement that the Flight Demonstration Squadron, better known as the Blue Angels, would be holding open tryouts for the first time in its history, the lifelong aviation buff turned to his fellow sanitation workers at Doug's Dugout Bar-N-Grill and said, "Mark my words—I'm going to be a Blue Angel if it's the last thing I do." And this Sunday, that dream came true for an incredible 43 seconds, as Enderby got the chance to fly the famed Blue Angels' F/A-18 Hornet directly into the tarmac during the first day of the Navy's most dramatic—and colo…

Obama wants to control banks Think about this... Think about the line that says "punishing regions of the country"... Then think about the TN plant. To add more fuel to the WILD discussion that will inhabit this thread; most fundamentalist christians believe that the final anti-christ will control people via barcode and credit or money. I present this quote: DISCLAIMER: I am not offering my opinion on this piece... I merely think it's interesting and might make for interesting discussion.
