I posted pics a very long time ago (2005ish), but I think a couple C&G crashes sent that thread into the abyss. So here are some more recent pics of the Lumina. It has some rust, hail damage, and the paint is starting to fade, but she still runs pretty well. It has about 142,000 miles on it now, which means I have put 62,000 miles on it since I bought it for $800 4 1/2 years ago. It's probably going to be with me for another six months, and then I'm looking to replace it with a used, RWD two-door of some type. With the way the economy is now, I've put off plans for a new car purchase until 2010. Anyway, these pics span from over the last year or so.

2001 Olds Alero 2.4 L AT Got it June 1st. Only issue right now is the cruise control not working. I have to replace a clip in the column this weekend. Ignore the date on the photos, my camera is really a piece of garbage. Second major car purchase of mine, first one that I did on my own. Very proud of this baby.

Like the title? As disturbing as it may be to me, after momzie dearest called herself the "hottest mom in town" the night we were picking up her new Camaro, yeah, it kind of stuck. And it's sort of her thing now. Short synopsis, from the "Sometimes...you just have to be proud;-)" thread, mom wanted power and cool looks, the Camaro came out & she started seeing them. Wanted to drive one. Delayed a but still said, "only want to drive" and finally did. Afterwards, that was that, and within a month, this past Monday I took her to PA, the perfect Camaro 2LT RS had just rolled off the truck that morning, plastic wrap and all, and by evening it was hers and the '08 Malibu 2…

No, not for me. Dad has ANOTHER. Given that he sold the '93 Fleetwood to my younger brother, who still lives with them, dad is up to 4 cars himself. Both the '96 and '00 Subaru's and the '68 Coronet project. The Subaru's are both questionable now with overheating and tempormental issues, the '96 of which he spent a nice amount on at an "import mechanic" to do head gaskets and it was never right again after, still issues. That one is for sale, and the also tempormental 2000 remains. So he bought a 4th. Why not. Just keep adding. Found a '94 S-10 with the 2.2L and automatic, bed cover and all. Clean history and extremely well kept. I don't know much about the 2.2L but he …

So as I'm sure many of you know, the Prizm's had a pretty hard life. Kansas heat, Massachusetts winters, being totaled by a moving truck, being hit by a stolen car, and now with over 200,000 miles on it. With all this added to the fact that the car is 16 years old, the paint has seen better days. The roof in particular has become very faded and oxidized. The trunk and rear bumper are as bad, but those are also from another car. Since the spare driver's door for my Intrepid cleaned ups o well with the rubbing compound and waxes I had lying around, I decided to see how they'd work on the Prizm, and hopefully bring some life back into its paint. Because the paint is in rou…

For reference... Before: and After: I know, I should have done this when the leaves were still on the trees but I never got around to posting so yeah...better late than never. For anyone wondering what it looks like after the body shop got done with it. Cost of labor: $560 Cost of parts: $200 (included bumper cover, trunk lid, bumper reenforcement, energy absorbers, and left tail light, and an afternoon's worth of work). Sorry for the lousy quality photos...I always meant to get better before posting but that never...happened Enjoy!

So after some looking around my brother has decided that he wants the Shadow instead of buying a car. While I'm sure some of you are laughing your asses off, or wondering why we'd bother with some 80's FWD, Unibody, pillared, $h!box...f@#k off. Kidding. Seriously though, the car's been good to us for most of it's time with us. Plus, unlike a "new" car, which can be a good car (like mine) or a never ending sea of misery and problems (BV's Beast), we know everything that's good and bad with it. I've wanted a car to play with for some time now, something I don't have to worry about rushing because someone needs to drive it. I can take my time and do it rig…

Black 2008 G6 GT Street Edition I know everyone here hates it, but I really liked it and my wife (it's her car) loves it. I did not know that you could add it to the GT models, but apparently you can. It has every option including the 18 inch rims and Stabili-track. We had a black GT next to this GT and it looked so much meaner with the Street Edition stuff it. Screw all you haters, we like it.

As many of you know I have been busy as of late. Landscaping the house, building a new retaining wall, a new mailbox and stuff like that. Monday the Torrent was suppose to get its windows tinted, until she played a special trick on me. NOT starting, and then the key wouldn't remove. I called GM and they sent a tow truck to try to get me jumped. No such luck, and an hour later he was unhooking something under the hood so we could roll it out of the garage down to the wrecker as it wouldn't shift out of park. It was towed to the closest GM dealer, a Chevy one whom I do not go to but don't have anything against. The tech found out a there was a bad cell in the battery and th…

So as I mentioned we drove the LeSabre home in a blizzard the night I bought it. Yet somehow the bias-ply tires & RWD in combination with New England roads didn't manage to kill me. Weird. Yup... it's 11:00pm, April 4th and we've got a full blown Snow Storm starting. Next morning. Can't sleep, too exicted. I've had the car in my possession for almost 12 hours now. Time to take off those 1959 Dodge wheel skirts. Wheel Skirts are off, but I got some of my DNA on the rear quarter. Ouch! She's a firecracker, managed to cut me pretty good. Yes, I take pictures of everything. Later that day I was running important errands, like... ummm... I nee…

I haven't had much good opportunity to populate around here lately, so much to do, so little time. We added another vehicle to the fleet the other day. What started as looking for new or slightly used ventured off into 'let's just get a bridge car' for awhile. Something that may be useful for not just my college kid, but also a budding HS kid who will be learning to drive soon. And, something that I may also be able to use to drive the 70 mile round trip to work each day and spell the miles from the van and TourX. Now we have to decide if we are going to get rid of the Grand Prix, which, it's probably time. Since the motivation here was more that I saw…

I posted this in my thread in the lounge but thought I would post it here to since I've been meaning to for a while anyway... The album includes a few good pictures of my '68 Camaro SS and my '73 Camaro Z28/RS. It also includes a picture of my daily driver; the Focus ZX3 before it got smashed and as a bonus, the pictures of the infamous camry rental from a year ago. Not pictured: Our 1999 Silverado Z71, our 2001 F-150 and our 1982 Toyota Starlet (beater) http://uncc.facebook.com/album.php?aid=201...5ee&id=36614241

Well my wife is always complaining about not being able to drive a vehicle for more than a few months at a time. So I decided to do something about it. I purchased her this New 2007 Cadillac SRX Sport AWD. Usually I just grab vehicles off the lot and let her drive them, but if they sell, they sell. Thats why I decided to purchase this time. 2007 Cadillac SRX Sport AWD: • 320 HP 4.6L Northstar V8 VVT • 6 Speed Automatic Transmission • 20" Chrome Wheels • Xenon HID Headlights • Ultraview Sunroof • SRX Sport Appearance Package Pictures:

So, as mentioned, Josh was looking into Escapes aaaaannnnddddd.... Basically, its a '13 Titanium AWD with the 2.0L Ecoboost, pearl white with black full leather, panoramic sunroof, navigation, parking tech package, and towing package. I'm pretty certain it has every option available from the factory. The window sticker indicates it was special ordered and stickered for a hair over $38k.

Good friend turned in his 2014 Malibu company car and got a 2020. He's impressed! Simple white LT with black cloth. Checked it out the other day and remembered many reasons why i like this current version of the Malibu so much, especially considering I had a 2016 myself. Already he's raving about the fuel economy, size, interior design, comfort. Too bad Chevy can't promote this more. I think an AWD Malibu and a more accessible price on a 2.0 turbo would help. One of Chevy's best shapes in the last 20-30 years....

She is a Titanium with all the goodies except navigation. It still had the premium Sony sound system. Has the Pano sunroof, cool but unessesary if you ask me. It isn't fast by any means but the 2.0t keeps me entertained for the time being. I don't plan to stick much money into it as it isn't much of a toy but cars are one of my passions so there are always things to do. So far I've tinted the windows 20% all the way around, got rid of the hideous amber colored parking lights with white LEDs, also replaced the OEM fog light …

So after over a year of owning her I've finally done something to make her more unique. While I do like white-face gauges and the sporting image they give off, I've long wanted some sort of metallic rings to surround them. Not only does it add some modern bright work to the cabin, but it ads a touch of class. Well, I wasn't able to get rings for the gauges but I did manage to get the next best thing. On the recent $50 Day I managed to pick up a gauge cluster out of a Chrysler Concorde, and despite the rain I managed to keep it safe and dry. Yesterday, with some modifications, I was able to swap them out. Although these gauges are black, I do like the how they look, and…

Upon hearing the news of my employer going bankrupt, I decided to buy a car. Logical, eh? Actually, I had been looking into it before I heard the news. After the fact, I simply wasn't going to let it ruin my fun. The car had been advertised on VWvortex forums since August, listed for $950. The seller purchased it sight-unseen to use for a project. He hasn't seen the car to this day. He asked a friend of his in the area to pick up the car for him and they were planning on doing a complete TDI swap with it. His friend thought the shell was too rough, however, and he put the car back on the market to regain his money. Three months later, and a drop in price to $750, I inqui…

Took delivery last evening of a 2007 Saturn AURA XE in Midnight Blue with Tan Cloth. It has the Convenience Package, Preferred Package, Enhanced Convenience Package, and the upgraded 17" Chromed five-spoked Wheelcovers. Since they got this car on trade from Saturn of Marlow Heights in Maryland, there was a tan pinstripe and VIN Etching already on the car. My salesman knew I didn't want any of that, so I wasn't charged for it! I think I actually like the tan double-pinstripe, so I will keep it on for now. And to make things better, the lease price they quoted me Wednesday night turned out to be $16 less per month at delivery! So with the GM Supplier Discount, $750 Satur…

hey guys, I just put a deposit on a white on tan 1995 Buick Riviera I found on Ebay, I test drove it today and it drove great. It is supercharged and has 64k miles on it. The only flaws I've found on the car so far are the traction control button falls into the dash when I went to test it, also the "R" in the grill is being held on with a ziptie, the maker light in the rear bumper on the left side is out and one bulb in the third stop light is out....otherwise it's damn near mint, save a few scratches....here this is it, check it out....The guy told me he would end the auction but its still posted for some reason so I am a little pissed but anyway here she is... Gas is $4.00+ a gallon. People are in a panic to get rid of their trucks and SUVs, desperate to get into a smaller more fuel efficient vehicle, even at the cost of their credit. Scienetists say we are doomed, and the Earth will literally boil and explode in the next year if we don't all start walking, riding bikes, and stop driving the things we love and farting. However, we're bucking the trend. That's right, and the RWD/BOF/V8 fanatics should be proud. Last week we bought a 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis. After a week or so of dealing with the hassle of MA's retarded registration polices we picked up the car on Wednesday. The man we bough it from is quite a character, pre…

Finally got some lowering springs installed this spring, ment to get these images up earlier but been waiting for some decent weather. The rear's not as low as I had hoped it would be but it doesn't look as 4x4 as it did before. The ride is certainly better, smoother, tighter I couldn't ask for more. And as promised here's a bonus that just happened today This happened right out in front of my house. I'm at my computer and I hear my alarm going off.. I look outside to see some guy looking at my bumper with his Dodge Ram pulled out a bit. I get outside, tell him that it's my car. He said it was his fault (no $h!), and he had "slipped" on t…

Guess what 2006 GM vehicle this is off of: [attachment=95:attachment] [attachment=96:attachment] It's my new 2006 G6 GT with all the trimmings. Yes the 2003 Grand Am GT went bye-bye for the G6 and the the G6 is sooooooo much nicer to drive than the GA. I'll take better shots tomorrow in the light. It's a Crimson Red GT with the Leather package (taupe), Panoramic sunroof, remoter start, power pedals, wing, chrometech wheels... Good deal when the GM Card double the rebate from $1000 to $2000. I leased it for three years like the 2003 GA. I'll let you know how it goes, but it is definetely geared better than the GA and feels …

Here's my wife's '09 2LT Malibu : Red Jewel Tintcoat, Ebony interior. Only cost options are the Red Jewel & body-color side moldings. The 6-spd manual & TapShift are included. Also included are aluminum rims, leather/suede upholstery, dual heated seats, AM/ FM/ XM/ CD, a bunch of electronic doo-dads and the usual lazy-man's answered prayers. For those impaired folk who judge a car's 'nationality' based on where it was assembled- it was assembled in Kansas City KS. So far, it drives, rides & handles very smoothly & competantly... and impressively. I need to get a few more pics (ran out of time), esp the interior. VERY nice car, I must say. Also …

Name: Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5S (2011) Date Added: 02 July 2011 - 06:11 PM Owner: PONTIAC06 Short Description: Looking for a replacement for the Jeep and decided to drive her just for fun. After driving lots of other SUVs/crossovers, I decided to go back and run the numbers. With the tent event going on, I ended up with her and the Jeep both. Navy Blue/Blonde cloth. She's got everything except leather, NAV and foglights. Picked her up on 6/27. I love the smart key, Bose sound system, and the CVT. The power delivery is extremely smooth, and it never is searching for the right gear. View Vehicle

NOS... MrDM... anyone really... make this look as ridiculous as possible... i need a good laugh...

Now I just need to sell a 2015 200S. ? If anyone knows someone who is interested, let me know! I picked up a 2018 Cadillac CTS Luxury 2.0T a couple of days ago. Here are my initial impressions: The suspension is not as stiff as I have heard other people say. It absorbs the bumps pretty well with no real harsh impacts but it does squirm around quite a bit on the heavily potholed Michigan roads The 2.0T is a bit unrefined but has plenty of power for the application The stop/start occasionally causes the car to shudder on the stop and almost always causes a shudder on the start. It is pretty quite though. Kind of the opposite of the stop/start o…

...and it's a 1979 Coupe DeVille painted its original "firethorn red" with a white leather interior, powered by a velvety-smooth 425 cubic inch Vee-8. In front of my house Close up That's right, I do in fact HEART vacations, paydays & weekends! Ross calls me up the other day and pitches this crazy idea of strapping down a wreath to the front of the Coupe Deville, since Marica was out for the night and I'm home wiht Sofia I'm like sure, let's do it up. He's almost pleasantly surprised that I'm goign along wiht such a crazy plan. I tell him I'm just surprised I did not get the idea first. I mean C'mon, it's a RED Cadill…

Name: Honda Civic (2009) Date Added: 22 May 2015 - 01:45 PM Owner: SalesmanSean Short Description: Bought new in Texas, traded in a '98 Ford Contour for it. It isn't flashy or exciting, but it was what I could afford, and I make it as enjoyable as I can. No real complaints other than maybe I should have gotten a different interior color, I'm not a fan of beige. In the cost spot I put the whole amount financed, not sure what the base price was, but I think the rate was like 2.9% or something like that. I'll see about getting a picture sometime later, maybe. 2006 GMC Envoy SLT 4WD (Summit White, Ebony Leather) Friday night, I traded-in the '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and took delivery of this GM Certified '06 GMC Envoy. I gotta to say that while I loved the FWB, and wanted one for many, many years, I'm a truck guy true-and-true and could not be happier now that I'm back in a GMC. After our leasing experience with a 2005 GMC Envoy SLT 4WD (August '05 - June '08), I missed the Envoy the last year & a half and have been searching one out. Enter caddycruiser (Derek) and his recommendation of Pointe Pontiac-Buick-GMC in southern NJ (way south!), and two-three weeks later I take delivery. Friday night was the beginni…

As I've been saying for months, the Camaro (black, 3.8L Series II, A4 for those who are new) was going to get a makeover for spring break. Therefore, we've got pictures of before and after... What happened was all performance. GT2 Camshaft, Pushrods, 105 lb Valve Springs, Modified Steel LS1 Valve Retainers, 2 new valve keepers (lost 'em lol), ceramic-coated Pacesetter headers and y-pipe, 180 degree high-flowing thermostat, new plugs/wires, 3.72 gears, Zexel-Torsen Limited Slip Differential, 32mm front swaybar (vs. 28mm stock), and heavyduty endlinks for the swaybar. Coming soon is a new rear swaybar (it was given to me today; a V8 take-off, which is 18mm vs. my current …

This occurred on Oct 30. I have been away from here since about August, only popping in from time to time, but I figured I would bring some news. Had to get my almost 16 year old teenager a ride and didn't want to give up my Impala.. nor have her rolling around in a compact. She gets her height from me.. and is already 5'9. I told her the budget was $22K with no sports cars (she wanted a damn Camaro... a 16 year old.. with a Camaro) I said "no..." so she looked at used everything else. I'm really proud of her because she looked at a Fusion, Malibu, Escape, an '07 SRX (yes the Boxy one) a used CTS, a 300.. and finally said to me "Daddy.. I kno it has to be Americ…

Finally...a year after purchasing the 4Runner, it's back to looking "right". May 2016, bought this 2001 SR5 Sport Black/Tan with the Safari rack on top, and random odds & ends needed, but running perfectly for $2k. Front corner was hit, flare missing, bumper twisted, tires all worn down & mismatched, unevenly, driver's seat post broken off from rust (one past owner did a driveway audio system & pushed a rubber plug out of the firewall, so it had…

Here she is, my car. Too bad I cant drive it because I am in college. Money doesnt grow on trees, as the old saying goes. Anyway here it is, my 6 speed 96 Z. I sure like the car. She is fun to play around with. Completely stock. Officially, my record is 1-2. :( I raced a camaro and beat him once, then he beat me. It was a modified 96 with exhaust and some other goodies. I think he let me win though the first time. Then i raced an 05 mustang GT and got basically whooped on. At any rate, I beat a lot of rice cars, but I dont count that in my official record!

Name: Ford Focus (2008) Date Added: 22 May 2015 - 02:02 PM Owner: SalesmanSean Short Description: Wife's car, very basic (manual windows, locks, no cruise), I kind of hate it, but it's hers, she paid cash for it, and she loves it. Not sure how much she paid for it, and I do all the driving for the family, thus the way low miles. I'm making an assumption on the HP/Torque. When looking it up I see two sets of numbers listed for each, with one as standard one as optional. There isn't a different engine option, so I'm guessing that it is related to the transmission. Since hers has the auto which is optional I'm making an educated guess that that is the one that get…

I'd never thought I'd see the day when I would own, of all things, a Buick, but here it sits in my driveway. I'd also never see the day when I would choose a Buick over a Trans Am, but again, here the Buick sits in my driveway and not the car I've aspired to own since I was a kid (well, okay, a second-generation T/A is what my heart really desires, but that's beside the point). The Monte, I think, went to a good home. The 383 stroker that I thought the Regal would have resting under its Grand National-sourced bonnet will find its way under the hood of my old car. The new owner also has a Monte LS parts car which will donate various bits and pieces to make my old Monte a…

Two weeks ago, I driving along in downtown Hell (Phoenix) on a pleasant, sunny 115 degree day when I hear a loud SNAP, and my seat lurches backward and to the right ('00 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 101k miles). Got home, studied the situation, realized the driver's seat track was sheared off right below the seat attachment point. All the power functions work fine. Did some research, found it this is a common problem with WJs. Found several write ups about this on jeepforum.com and other forums. Started fiddling with it, managed to unbolt the 4 bolts that held the track. After leaning the seat back, I realized the seat frame (which the track bolts to) is also cracked. …

This is my 2003 Chevy Malibu LS it has the 3100 LG8 V6... Its my first car and i really didn't know if i was going to like it at first, but then i drove it a little and i fell in love. It's LG8 pushes 170hp stock which isn't horrible for a car its size. The 3100lbs it wieghs is heavy but tolerable. I love the feel of stepping on the accelerator and i want to do some engine work now... suggestions would be great!

I absolutely love how the 4.6 sounds.. m favorite sounding vehicle..possibly ever. I'm not a fan of the SLP but I didn't see it worth the money to change it all out for essentially the same performance. So after all the last few years of my harassing, and shopping, test driving, sending pictures ....my uncles let my mom know of a 2011 DTS for sale in the small town and where my parents had bought other Cadillacs before. Got a build sheet from GM and a Carfax to check it out. I could tell mom had found what she wanted . And less than 80,000 miles. I told her if she didn’t buy it today that I would. Maybe Cadillac needs to refocus on the large comfortable cars again. She got a good one, the interior is almost new condition. She wishes the dash top wasn’t so dark, I told her with used cars you get what you get. ?

The last brand new GM vehicle my parents ever bought in Blue metallic was a 1993 Oldsmobile Achieva. My dad wanted a Grand Am but I thought the Achieva had a really nice interior and was more comfortable for all our super-long road trips we used to take as a family. Even thought I was only 14 I pretty much was allowed to pick the car we'd buy since I had my head burried in car magazines 24/7. I thought Quad4 was a redundant name and years later I grew to hate it for it's lack of power. The SOHC 115HP Quad4 pretty much sucked, even new. Never any usable torque. Anyway my parents had been talking about the posibility of trading their 1997 Grand Am in on a new car in the pa…

"It's different now" __ Conway Twitty __ 'Goodbye Time' Irony rocks. I've recently learned that, in ~1 year, I'll lose the year-round garage storage (heated in winters) that I've appreciated the last 10+ years. The couple that owns the house, building & property is moving to SC. I will not have the funds needed to buy the place, though I would LOVE to live there. So, since other similar storage options in the area are more expensive, unemployment continues & medical bills are still due ... it's probably time to sell my MCs. Yep, life is still good. It's just frustrating to watch things for which I've worked hard disappear due to no fault of my own. At leas…

Well, not so much a full-blown project as it is more like "getting ready to sell" project My step-son Antonio purchased a 1998 Buick Regal LS Sedan in September of 2011, his first car, with cash he saved from working a part-time job. He did this practically with just six or seven months of saving up! He worked the drive-thru of our local Boston Market and watched each car as it came through. He saw a maroon colored W-body Buick Regal one day and told me he really liked how the car looked. Our search brought us to my selling Buick-GMC dealership that had the '98 advertised for the Labor Day weekend sale. Fast forward to this week. Antonio graduated from high school…

Well I feel like a big loser for still not posting my 1959 Buick LeSabre two-door post sedan, or the "Banana Boat" 1977 Cadillac Coupe deVille in this sub-forum. Both of these old GMs are, in different ways, project cars of mine. The Buick was used as a daily driver for 7000 miles last summer, and is now receiving some over-due TLC. The 49 year old 364 cubic inch V8 is half appart. The Banana on the other hand is my current daily driver, a 4500lbs. "coupe" powered by a seven liter pushrod Cadillac block. 13 mpg is about all I'm getting since I drive it like I stole it. Not very condusive to $4.15/ gallon gasoline prices, esp. since I driv…

Figured I'd post the replacement for my brother's wrecked Ranger. It's a Nissan, as you can see. I think it's a 1993. It has about 130k miles on the odometer and it's a stick. I'm not sure if it's a V6 or a 4cyl as I haven't asked nor looked to see for myself. I think he got it for $1k or so. It's a little rusty, but seems more solid than his Ranger was, which is certainly good. It supposedly runs pretty well.
