  1. If all goes well, I'll be looking for a used 4x4 Silverado/Sierra 2500HD truck in a few weeks. A crew Crew Cab or Extended Cab is a must, but the bed length doesn't matter. I know all about Holden Utes, but except for driving a 2002 model Extended Cab, Long Bed, 2WD Silverado 2500HD across the US a few years ago, the Chevy/GMC trucks are something I have very little experience with. I expect to be looking at 2002 to 2006 models, but I could go a few years older if the truck is really good and the right price. Are there any years or models to avoid? Conversely, are there any years and models that are really good? Are there any common problem areas I should examine on a…

GM sales in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America have grown this year. And its engine for growth is Chevrolet, the venerable high-volume brand that has enjoyed a rebirth overseas. 5. I currently own a 2003 Avalanche. Prior to my purchase of this truck, I was very anti-SUV. I only purchased the truck out of necessity for the management and maintenance of my apartment business. I picked the Avalanche because it was by far the most versatile truck on the market. Automotive News had the chance to speak with GM's vice president of global design, Ed Welburn who said designers are hard at work trying to infuse the Corvette Stingray's DNA into newer Chevrolet models. "As Malibu and Cruze and Volt come to market, you'll be able to see a subtle link between some of the form vocabulary for all of them and Corvette," said Welburn. "I always look at the hood of the Corvette and the sectioning, the way it's taut, very lean, very sporty. That will be a part of really everything we do for Chevrolet." How many of us saw Dad off to work in a Biscayne or a Bel Air, or remember the mall lots clogged with Novas and Caprices? The Chevy sedan was everyman’s car, the car you drove if you cared more about value than flash. The Camaro convertible is off the table probably for a year as GM tries to save cash and claw its way back to profitability. Analysts predict U.S. car and light truck sales in '09 will be even worse than in '08 and the Chevy Volt and Cruze will have to succeed before GM can spend on such extravagances. Whether the Camaro convertible comes back from the hiatus depends on how well GM weathers the storm. If GM's situation improves, Chevrolet could return the Camaro convertible to its product plans for the 2011 model year, just in time to add a fresh new version of the car. http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_ne...hold/index.html

  63. The idea here is not to produce the ultimate gas savings or the highest performance. Instead it is a Mild Hybrid which combines amicable fuel consumption with lively driving characteristics. The system is avoids the weight and cost burden of a big battery, while benefiting from an efficient asymmetric combustion cycle. The price premium will be in the order of $1000 over a turbo Malibu, while the driving experience -- especially in daily driving regimes in the idle to 4000 rpm range -- will be similar to a 3 liter V6. Automobile Journalists of Canada put the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in a Class of its Own Eeh MARKHAM, ON, Dec. 7, 2005; It isn't often that a production car is made that is so clearly superior that it is deemed to have no competition at all, but this year, at its annual Car of the Year awards presentation, the Automobile Journalists of Canada (AJAC) declared the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to be just such a car. As a result, AJAC announced the creation of a completely new award to recognize a 'truly exceptional vehicle that sets new standards' and presented the inaugural "AJAC Most Coveted Vehicle" award to General Motors of Canada for the Corvette Z06. as i was reading an article on how the GTO is back on the zeta platform in 2008. i cam across this.... "when pushed on wether GM was thinking about bringing back the El Camino off the zeta platform, lutz beemed with enthuisasm. "the kids in the company-my self included-would love to do another El Camino, but the grown ups amongst us dont shre that way of thinking". It woul be fairly simple. We would only have to put a chverolet face on the Holden Ute. (a car like pickup). The building blocks are there". I think GM need to listen to those "kids".

The most apparent change is a new face. Chevrolet has added various aerodynamic elements and new LED headlights to have the LS/LT, RS, and SS models stand apart. The RS Appearance Package features a reshaped black grille and lower chrome inserts. SS models get additional LED lighting, two-piece grille design, and the new 'flowtie' air intake emblem on a black crossbar. It's different to say in the least. We'll leave it to you to decide whether it is better. Other exterior changes include LED taillig…

But for a small subset of Chevrolet dealers, the cost of selling the Volt and its pricey additional tool and equipment costs are causing them to stop selling the Volt. A new report from Automotive News says that a small number of dealers have decided to stop selling the Volt due to the specialized equipment costs and GM requiring a more significant investment in the near future, and slow sales not being able to recuperate those investments. Last year, 2,614 Chevrolet dealers were certified to…

Plug-in Cruze would have a different powertrain. Plug-in hybrids use both the engine and motor all the time.” GreenCarReports says the Cruze Plug-In Hybrid w…

Hopefully he is just trying to get back to be with friends and family. Here is the Turth About Car's update, which is a little less optimistic than Lyle's: "And as a second executive abandons GM’s EREV moonshot, it seems pretty clear that the program has major shortcoming…

  91. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com October 11, 2013 This week saw General Motors quietly announcing that Malibu Eco will not be returning for 2014. The reason given is that the 2014 Malibu 2.5 achieves the same fuel economy numbers as the Eco model (25 MPG City/36 MPG Highway) thanks to stop/start technology. The Chevrolet Malibu Eco was never a big seller in the Malibu. According to The Detroit News, the Eco model only made up of 10 percent of total sales last year. Add in the fact that many reviews criticized the Malibu Eco's real-world fuel economy didn't match up to the EPA ratings, and easy to see why the Eco was given the boot. Chevrolet spokesman …

  96. My mother once rented one, and backed it into who knows what, and the corner of the rear bumper dimpled in completely. Absolute concave. This is a thing I'm used to seeing on about 40% of 97-01 Camrys. It makes your car look and feel really cheap and tinny. What would prompt a carmaker to not fill in the entire bumper end to end to fix the problem? I saw a lesser model yesterday with the similar problem, and I fear the upcoming day my parents' brand new LTZ suffers that silliness.
