most definitely JIF! Jif Creamy! I love the Jif Natural too. Yummy. Trying the Simply Jif and Jif Crunchy these days too. Another one I tried recently was Trader Joes unsalted creamy, although i hate having to refrigerate peanut butter. Thought i'd give the whole foods peanut butter a try. Every time I try skippy, meh. Doesn't match up to Jif. The walmart and target brands are ok but in truth JIF reigns supreme and has something going on with it that just rocks. I am even split between the natural and the regular creamy depending on my mood.

Do we have a peanut butter appreciation thread? If not, here it is. The only real problem I am aware of with peanut butter is its pretty high in calories. But in return, you get full. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM OK, here goes. My faves in the peanut butter world. TRADER JOE'S the basic creamy unsalted or crunchy unsalted is the best best best! I add a little honey and stir it in, but even without its SOOOOOOOO good! MARANATHA. Expensive, but so worth it. The creamy no stir is awesome, the regular Maranatha is fabulous as well. SMUCKERS A little bland and I am not diggin the finely chopped added texture but otherwise for cheap PB is pretty good. JIF Jif Na…

Pecking Order of the Jeep 4x4 systems? Thanks to Drew, I had overlooked the web page that Jeep has on their powertrain systems. http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/ Now that we have this great resource, I need some help in figuring out the pecking order of where things line up or are similar. Why you ask? Easy in the sense that my son who bought out of college his first new auto, a 2012 Jeep Patriot Latitude Trail rated edition is now ready to step up to a nicer auto and has decided to get a Jeep Grand Cherokee. We have tested them and he pretty much has all the details hammered out except for one question he asked me. I have searched and searched various jeep …

Do you have weird requests for food orders that raise eyebrows or elicit sighs from the wait staff or order takers for fast food? Here's a couple of mine: 1. Beverage: 50/50 mix of regular Coke and Diet Coke 2. Bevarage: "easy ice," to get more content, ideally 3. Onions withheld on anything that would have them as a condiment 4. Heavy pickles, olives and tomatoes on anything that would have them as a condiment 5. Side of bleu cheese for dipping my fries (without fail at Bob's Big Boy restaurants) Do you have any such requests (or quirks)?

I figured this show might be good watching considering the whole eco-conscious movement these days. Penn Jillette and his partner, Teller spend about half an hour debunking Hybrid cars and investigating Nuclear Power. It also has Lesbians, but unfortunately for Reg, there's no nudity. Language is kind of coarse, but it's good watchin' if you have a half-hour to burn. So, we did want gays in the military...just not ours. -------- Pentagon Confirms It Sought To Build A 'Gay Bomb' Jun 8, 2007 9:03 pm US/Pacific (CBS 5) BERKELEY A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting. Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called "Gay Bomb." Edward Hammond, of Berkeley's Sunshine Project, had used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain a copy of …

I guess when we owe them TRILLIONS of dollars, they think they can push us around ... WASHINGTON - The Defense Department charged Monday that five Chinese ships shadowed and maneuvered dangerously close to a U.S. Navy vessel in an apparent attempt to harass the American crew. Obama administration defense officials said the incident Sunday followed several days of "increasingly aggressive" acts by Chinese ships in the region. U.S. officials said a protest was to be delivered to Beijing's military attache at a Pentagon meeting Monday. The USNS Impeccable sprayed one ship with water from fire hoses to force it away. Despite the force of the water, Chinese crew member…

This guy comes into our dealership today to look at the Silverado 2500 that we have in the 2nd floor showroom, he's ben in before. His daily driver is a 2006 Aveo-5, stick and he's always bragging about getting about 37mpg real world... the thing is he always leaves it idiling for long periods of time while he looks at trucks, get a brochure from the showroom or whatever. Today he was in the showroom for a good 18-20 minutes while his little Aveo was left, door ajar... running with the AC full blast & the radiator fan kicking in and out constantly. Kind of funny if you ask me. Like the chian smoking Prius driver that I always see blowing nasty …

I was giving this some thought as I periodically talk to or visit long time friends over the years...some of which I have seen this summer. Do you think most people change? I would say that, while they can, and some should, they don't. Essentially, all of my friends have the same personalities as when I first met them. Yeah, they've grown up, so they may look different over time. And, while they may have a different attitude or are more self-assured (that comes with time), they still have the same basic motivations and personal interaction style. My friend Bob in S.D. still acts much the same way as he did in college. It's just that, being in the business world a…

so we finally get a bunch of snow with in 15 minutes of driving i see a blazer wrapped around a telephone pole and jeep into a tree. I guess people don't know that you cant do 30 down side streets when its snowy out. Unnecessary loss of cars really. In the intersections people wait for the last 5 feet and brake only to realize there on ice. and go across the intersection. What happened to basic knowledge? Michigan has been getting snow for millions of years now. Its like its the first time people saw the stuff.

To set this up I was grabbing my lunch out of the back seat so my back was to this lady I was wearing a Steelers jacket. This is exactly what was said... Her: So, you're a Steelers fan? Me: Yes Her: (a couple second pause) It's a good thing I washed my car Me: She walked away before I could say anything else. I tried to process it but it was too early in the morning to think that much.

Hey, I had this friend going back to the mid-90s. She's actually a licensed architect, but she is ROUGH around the edges...more of a construction trailer lady than an architect in an office. I only befriended her because we had work things in common..and our paths would have never crossed had it not been for that. Even though she is ROUGH, she is married, but her marriage is very screwed up from what I can see. It's like a roommate marriage. Here's the basic problem: when she heads for lower ground, I tend to straighten her out (if she asks me advice or tells about her ridiculous predicaments). That is, I told her to take her stupid licensing exam, to fight for t…

This beautiful day, I want to go driving. With the windows down, and the warm breeze. A day to forget all the ugly things going on in this country, all this sudden destruction of our stylish industry... the automobile. It has gone from a loved part of life to an evil that some people want to see destroyed. That destruction is here, big, terrible and bright. The other side, the aftermath, looks bleak and cold from my desk. So I'm going driving. It could be to the beach, or to the city. I don't know yet. But I'll take my camera.

There's been some interest in dropping a turbo into the 2.0 Litre Holden 4-banger, as far as going with an option that's been tried and true for over a decade with this engine; however, I think I found a better option. 108,920 HP @ 102 RPM 5,608,312 LB/ft of torque @ 102 RPM While the 14-cylinder does drink 1,660 gallons of heavy fuel oil per hour, I think I can be a little lighter on the throttle to help that. That's the inline 12-cylinder model. I might need to beef up the front suspension a tad to carry the weight. Info here: http://www.bath.ac.uk/~ccsshb/12cyl/ You think the guys at Jiffy Lube are going to hate me when I pull in with this thing (under?) the h…

The Sunday before my pacemaker replacement surgery, I took my '87 MC LS to get washed and then drove it out to the heated garage where the older 4 MCs are stored to leave it since I wouldn't be able to drive for a week. During the drive between the car wash and the garage, a song came on the air that seems to "pop up" just when I need it. For whatever reason, whenever I hear the entire song on the radio, I get the "it's going to be all OK" feeling. The song? "Drift Away" ... and it doesn't matter if it is Dobie Gray's original version or Uncle Cracker with Dobie Gray. It is one song that tells me everything is going to be fine. Most times, I'm hearing it during a ro…

Rather than have a new one of these every month, lets just all pile into this one thread and keep it going. I'll start with a recent RARE spot I made here in Pittsburgh that has gotten super popular on CheersandGears's Facebook Page. I spotted this super rare Saab 9-4x running around Pittsburgh the other day. Built off the same Theta-Premium platform as the 2nd Generation Cadillac SRX, this one seems to be used as a daily driver. It was built in Mexico, and only 814 copies were ever made.

Reading this post by trinacriabob, it sparked me to think about my own problems. I just find it really hard to fit into my own age group now. Not that I'm incredibly smart or anything (in fact to be honest I'm more like the last in the class), but I find myself a bit more comfortable with people in different age groups. However, my best friend told me that relationships with older people are very "surficial" (not sure if this is the right word). No offense, but I find this somewhat true. It's really not like you can take things straight out of the heart and express yourself. It's just different. That sort of turned me off from hanging around older people. However, tryin…

Since I'm planning to part with the SKY, it is no longer a desire. However, seeing as how I intend to get a certain type of vehicle <not mentioning b/c I want to see what you posters think my suggestion means first> in 2009 or as a 2010, I've started playing with some ideas. Look at the picture I attached and tell me what you think it means and if you like it (NJ only allows up to 7 characters/spaces, FYI).

I have a neighbor who just made an automotive purchase that made me stop and think. He bought a late 70s/early 80s VW Rabbit. But not just any Rabbit, a Rabbit diesel. The car itself is in very good shape since it came from the southwest, but that isn't the kicker. The kicker is the mileage he's getting with this thing. 52 MPG Even better, he brews his own bio-diesel at a cost of .47/gal. Somehow, I think the rest of us lost something along the way from the late 70s to 2011. Made me stop and think.

Well... Today's my brother's birthday, he turned 14. I still remember that morning like it was yesterday- I spent the night at my grandparents place and we rushed over to the Rockyview Hospital in their then new Emerald Green 1994 Neon Sport Sedan (with the automatic) so I could see my new baby brother... We were trying to meet my dad but when he was going down an elevator we were going up and vice versa- my grandfather was 65 then. Today, in that very hospital, two floors above the maternity ward, my grandfather lies suffering from congestive heart failure and a collapsed lung at age 80 (He's fine for now)... We're not sure what's the cause but they think it's a leaky …

After a particularly aggravating commute, I decided to post this list of the things that annoy me. These things may not seem like "bad driving", but they reduce the efficiency of our roads, and waste everyone's time. Feel free to post your own pet peeves as well. This list is expressway-specific. 1. People who don't get over to the right. You are supposed to drive in the right most lane unless passing. When the highway is packed, and you are constantly passing, go ahead and drive in the left lane. Expressways would flow so much better if everyone just moved over. Then I wouldn't have to guess what the guy in the middle lane is going to do when he encounters the slow…

A lot of people do f*c*ing idiotic things while driving. Several bother me. At the top of my list is this: 1. DOG OR CAT IN YOUR LAP, BETWEEN YOU AND STEERING WHEEL Good Gawd, if you love your animal, that is the LAST place you would put them. In those classes you can take (at least in CA) to hide moving violations, they tell you this. In an accident, the animal doesn't have a chance and will be flattened. Next ones for me: 2. Reading a book, like a paperback novel 3. Make up application There are others, but these lead my list. What irks you?

Seat-belt your dog or face $1000 fine We know...it sounds absurd. "Click-it-or-ticket" warns us that we can, and will, get caught if we drive without a seatbelt. Most if not all states have now made it a primary offense under pressure from the Federal Government. But one state wants to extend the "click" to man's best friend riding in the passenger seat and sticking his head out the window. Under New Jersey Statute 4:22-18, unrestrained pets in vehicles is an act of animal cruelty, and drivers who don’t secure their pooch in a pet seat belt will be subject to fines, ranging from $250 to $1,000 and as much as six months in jail. "That’s for each offense,” Col. Frank …

Our pets come up every now and then. More people here discuss dogs. I love dogs too. I am indifferent to cats for the most part; however, about 1 year ago when I lived in another neighborhood, there was a cat that practically greeted me outside my car when I pulled up from work and then came and hung out in my living room for about 2 or 3 hours before returning to his owner. He was well-fed. He didn't want food. He had a spot on the sofa he liked and sat there and purred.

A few times, these things were apparently going off at random and erroneously, and I've even been in the intersection a time or two, and have not received a ticket in the mail. What a nuisance that must be. Tonight, I'm coming home from doing some shopping and I'm at a left turn pocket at the intersection but STOPPED. I see this thing flashing every now and then, thinking it was the setting sun in my face. Heck no...it was a photo-controlled intersection. I was wondering what was setting it off, because everyone seemed to be heeding the signals. What triggers these things? Can being…

Why not? We all love to snap pictures! And we have some very talented photographers. For the rest of us, their criticism is very much appreciated. I covered a rugby game today and this will probably be the headliner photo: Also liked this one:

Someone sent this to me in an email, and I have to say that this plane is hot: Photos of The First F/A-22 Delivered to Langley AFB These are photos of the F/A-22 (Raptor) as the first aircraft delivery was being made to Langley AFB in VA. Langley is to be first operational AFB for the F/A-22. The Aircraft flying along with the F/A-22 in several of these photos is the F-15D, which will be replaced by the F/A-22 since testing by the USAF has verified predictions that the F/A-22 would be several times better than the F-15. In actual in-flight (simulated combat) operations against the F-15, one F/A-22 was able to operate without detection while it went head t…

$22.95 rented Monte Carlo? Check. $39.95 Travelodge at San Francisco's airport motel strip? (Not a mistake, either). Check. Super Bowl that day? Meh. It can be taped and I don't care about Chicago or Indianapolis. Wouldn't have missed this for the world. It was worth the schlep down to SF and back to see this. This is truly the grand dame of the sea. 1. People waiting on the ocean side of the Golden Gate 2. You could catch her outline in the distance prior to this but, at last, she comes into view. Look at all the boats and helicopters circling her. 3. Made a run to the bay side of the Golden Gate to watch her pass underneath. She's big. 4. Wow! Abo…

At about 11 pm on July 25, 1956, 50 years ago today, the Italian passenger liner Andrea Doria was sailing off of Nantucket, Mass. and due in to NY the following morning. She had essentially crossed the entire Atlantic. However, as the area was blanketed in fog and there was confusion aboard both ships who saw each other's lights up ahead, the Swedish liner Stockholm, with a bow designed to cut through ice, broadsided the Andrea Doria, cutting a gash below the water line that meant her end. About 50 people perished...all at the site of impact. Miraculously, unlike other more rapid sinkings, the Andrea Doria went under at 10:09 am the next day. Furthermore, the French l…

I've read that with the free trail versions of Photoshop, you can't save, print, or export. Has anyone downloaded it to either verify or dismiss that? I'm getting fairly sick of my existing photo editing software and have been looking into Photoshop. I don't want to go through the trouble of downloading such a large program if I'm only going to be able to play with it and it's certainly too expensive to buy outright. As well, I would want to look into alternate programs. Either way, what I have is going to be replaced. Help is appreciated.

Haven't been able to get sound out of my iTunes for videos for quite awhile now. My DVD burner is hosed in every application. Trying to get into explorer is a 30 second to 1 minute debacle. I downloaded new iTunes7 today, thinking it would solve the sound problem. NO. I am incensed, and tired of windows and their shetty operating system. C'mon people, show your hate for Windows, and computers in general. Other digital devices are fair game too.

Basically, more things that resulted from boredom. As I was having a photo shoot of myself, haha, I played around with a few colored plastic film-things for my strobe light as well as a lense for my LED flashlight. Took some images of things in my room and of my Grand Am. Yes, I still have it, obviously. *sigh* I also played around in Photo Impression with a few. Also... here's a Grand Prix GXP I played around with.

Alright guys I am in Phoenix at the auto show here with the Jeep exhibit and I had the day off today so I did some looking around and I brought my Kodak with me. First the Silverado..... Let me say, this car, um I mean truck, is awesome! With the new rack and pinion and the interior that is awesome in the LTZ and way more than expected in the LT, I feel like I'm driving an aura or maybe even a cadillac in it. It was so smooth and quiet! But... the plastic on the dashboard was pretty hard and the tan leather was kind of dirty, I know it is a demo vehicle, but the leather can be hard to clean, but it was high grade stuff. Power was great, even with the small V8. The 5.…

As you gape at the below pictures and ready your snide 'see; old cars suck' commentary... please keep in mind that the pics you are used to seeing are 30-MPH impacts into stationary objects. The below pics (from the IIHS) were conducted from 43 to 49-MPH... BUT as both vehicles were moving towards each other, that's an 86 to 98-MPH impact. Still, and I agree: yikes.

...and it kicks monumental ass. B) I actually haven't listened to the entire thing yet but the song I'm currently listening to, "Coming Undone", is one of my instant favorites. I got the deluxe album which gives me a bonus CD with extra songs, remixes, and videos. Plus, I get a one-year membership to the Korn BSC fan club. The icing on the cake was getting a free Korn poster of the album art signed by the band. Such a good day. :)

For those of you that didn't see my last post, I had a buddy of mine at the local dealership pick up a '07 Aura XR off smart auction for us. Got the car home yesterday morning and spent most if the weekend on it detailing and checking it over. It cleaned up a lot better that I thought it would. One wheel had been curbed and has some scuffing on it, just bought a new one off ebay to replace it with for $57!!! Here's some pics from today....

I'll post out our CR-V issues in another thread, but suffice it to say that we have very good reason to start looking elsewhere soon for a CR-V replacement. His requirements: 1. AWD/4WD - non-negotiable 2. Best fuel economy possible 3. Heated seats (can be cloth) 4. cannot be too large, the Equinox is about the biggest he would got 5. low price 6. body style doesn't matter My requirements: 1. Prefer an American brand but not stuck on that for the right car. Right now, I'm thinking we look at the new Compass and the Kazashi.

Went to a local cruise night here in Spotswood, NJ and have some pics to share. First pics of the Best In Show winner. To many, this car may look familiar. Yes, that's my 1963 Studebaker Avanti. I didn't expect to get Best In Show, but I'll certainly take it! Now on to other cars there. There were two other Studes at the show, both Gran Turismo Hawks. This one is a 1964. They were as ahead of their time as the Avanti was.

Tough for me to believe that my awesome 2010 road trip... ...is done. If I could be on the road 24/7/365, I would jump on that chance/opportunity in a heartbeat! In the meantime, it is time to start planning my 2011 road trip, most-likely via US Route 66 and into the northwest United States (Oregon, Washington, the Dakotas, Minnesota, etc.). I'm also considering a couple mini road trips yet in 2010, in mid September (place TBD) and in November, during Thanksgiving weekend, to TN. As for my Nor'Easter Trek road trip, I had a GREAT time traveling through IL, IN, MI, OH, PA, NY, MA, NH, MA, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, PA, OH, IN, and IL, from Wednesday, August 4 to Su…

There are those among us who are, shall we say, camera whores. We take pictures any chance we get. There are also times when you just happen to have your camera/camera phone with you to snap a cool, weird, crazy, or some combination of the three photo. This thread is for you! So let's begin. Today I want to the nearby auto auction for fun, and snapped a few photos with my phone...I thought I'd share: First up, for the Ford fans, is a Ford Elite Next is a very sexy Dodge Shadow, complete with taped up bumper: And the other car a took a photo of is the car I want to buy, a 300M

Alright let's try something new. We start off with a picture. When you view the photo/drawing/whatever you post the first thing that comes to mind... So for instance if the last post was a picture of the Canadian Flag and you think "Bryan Adams" then type Bryan Adams and post a new picture. It can be related to the last photo or phraze but it does not have to be. Like you could post a Hockey Stick as it relates to the Canadian Flag but you could also post Ghandi just for the sheer randomness of it. I'll start us off: Scion Xb and now my pic for the next person:
