Ted took more pics, but his computer is down, so I uploaded whatever I have from my camera. Overall, impressions, well let's just put it that GM can do allot better than this. It feels allot like the Aura. Interior plastics feel cheap, disappointed. With all the time GM had to improve the flaws the Aura had, it feels like they have done nothing. We sat in this car first at the show, so we got to compare. The new Accord, the Camry, even the Magentis, yes the KIA MAGENTIS feels like a car with higher quality than this. I know you guys hate hearing this, especially on a GM fan msg site, however this car is not the promise of "gotta have cars" Lutz is praising about. …

I am. Should prove to be exciting, especially for all the RWD fans. I'm guessing there will be a few GREAT ones from GM (Blue Devil; speculation of a Camaro or GTO), Dodge will probably have the Challenger, DCX always has some surprises, maybe that Hyundai RWD car they were talking about, maybe the next Supra or equivilent. I'm sure that GT-R/Skyline will be there. Who knows. I can't wait. Who's with me?

General Motors There's no holiday break for the folks at GM — they have much too much going on with the Los Angeles and Detroit auto shows around the corner. Their all-new sport-utes based on the GMT-900 platform will show up at the Los Angeles show in the form of a Chevrolet Suburban and a GMC Yukon XL. Joining the Suburban in L.A. will be the high-performance Pontiac Solstice GXP. While these models are important, GM saved the really big bling for their homies. • Buick Enclave The all-new Buick Enclave is the first of several full-size crossovers to be based on GM's new Lambda platform. The eight-passenger will utilize 3.9-liter V6 and 5.3-liter V8 engines (wi…

GM to Unveil 2 New Concept Cars in China Associated Press 04.02.07, 6:14 AM ET General Motors Corp. will unveil a new pair of concept cars in its Chevrolet and Buick lines at this month's Shanghai Auto Show, GM China said Monday. The cars will be among 40 vehicles the company and its Chinese joint venture partners plan to display as GM increasingly looks to China to offset sluggish sales and crippling legacy costs elsewhere. GM said the concept cars include the latest version of the Chevrolet Volt, the company's extended-range electric passenger vehicle which was introduced in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. VW’s 2009 Iroc Coupe Scirocco successor to premiere at Paris By GREG KABLE AutoWeek | Published 08/24/06, 9:57 am et Wolfgang Bernhard has barely warmed the seat as Volkswagen chairman and he is already attacking the market with products he hopes make the German automaker cool again. Look for proof in the reborn Scirocco coupe—dubbed Iroc—which makes its global debut in Paris in September. If Bernhard’s plan comes to fruition, it will do for VW what the TT did for Audi—provide the German carmaker with a modern, relevant and desirable image-building model. Iroc is planned for North American showrooms by the end of 2008, the same year VW launches its Land Rove…

General Motors\' Opel division has been hard at work on a performance version of its hot new Insignia, the reigning European Car of the Year, and the first spy shot – probably snapped on someone\'s camera phone – has surfaced online. To be sold as the Vauxhall Insignia VXR in the UK and as the Opel Insignia OPC in Europe, the car is reported to have lapped the vaunted Nürburgring Nordschleife in a hair over eight minutes, which is a blistering fast time for a relatively large hatch. The hot Insignia evidently wears big 20-inch wheels with concave dark spokes and chrome accents, wrapped in 255/35 R20 rubber and capped by bulging wheel arches. All four contact patches are…

This past week was the New England International Auto show at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Yesterday Myself, my girlfriend, Sixty8, and his daughter spent the day touring the various displays. This year was bigger and better than the last time I went (two years ago), with more cars, a custom section, and a classic section featuring among other things, a Stanley Steamer and a Duesenberg Model J. Sixty8, not surprisingly, spent most of the time around the classics, while my girlfriend watched his daughter and waited in line with Sixty8 and his daughter so she could play Gran Turismo in some floating Subaru thing. Meanwhile I went and checked out the new …

Could this hint at the next TT? The Shooting Brake Concept is a study vehicle offering a further trailblazing interpretation of Audi's current formal idiom, blending the powerful dynamism of a sports car with a new sense of spaciousness and greater functionality. With its powerful 250 bhp, 3.2-litre six-cylinder engine and quattro permanent four-wheel drive, the Shooting Brake Concept produces a quality of road behaviour that in every respect lives up to its visual impact. The study vehicle sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds, and its top speed is electronically governed at 250 km/h.

Since the '07 releases have been already announced, it sounds like from the rumour mill that there are only going to be 3 new GM models for '08 from what I've seen so far--Malibu, CTS, and Enclave.. (maybe 4 if the Opel Astra coming for Saturn to replace the Ion is in MY '08, though it's not a new car--new to the US, but the current European model, I believe)? Besides refreshes/upgrades of existing models, anything else on the horizon for the '08 MY? (Maybe the Camaro? It will be interesting to see if it will be a MY '08 release...)

Inspired by the adidas sports brand, they infused this carefree lifestyle into interior and exterior design and materials. So Thursday 68 called me up and asked me if I wanted to go to Kimball's, it was the 2nd last one of the season. Since I've only been to one car show this year and it was tiny I gladly went. I'd only been to Kimball's once and it had been "canceled" due to bad weather that never happened, so there were only a few cars. This time was much different. I took lots of photos, so you've been warned!

Dodge Reprises Another Classic With 2006 Challenger Concept Date posted: 01-04-2006 AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Dodge designers say they drew on the 1970s model for inspiration but stretched the new 2006 Challenger concept and made it a "genuine four-passenger car." The rear-wheel-drive Challenger concept sits on a 116-inch wheelbase, 6 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the original. Dodge resurrects the original Challenger "performance hood" and its twin diagonal scoops — now with functional butterfly-valve intakes — on the new concept. The front end features the signature Dodge crossbar grille and four deeply recessed headlamps. In the rear are twin-rectangle dual…

Las Vegas - GM's small-vehicle lineup will make a big impact at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, proving that with the right combination of technology, great products and accessories, it's possible to pack performance, style and fuel economy into one exciting package. Among the 25 smaller vehicles taking center stage at SEMA are customized versions of Chevrolet's new hit HHR and Cobalt; the new Pontiac Solstice and G6; the Saturn Ion and upcoming Sky; and the new, smaller HUMMER H3. These fuel-efficient vehicles are the perfect canvas for customizers who'd rather spend their money on a killer audio system than at the pu…

In 2006, there will be TWO L.A. Int'l Auto Shows.....the one in January, '06 that typically competes with Detroit.....and the L.A. show in November, '06 (which will preview '07) which is representative of the decision by L.A. show executives not to interfere with Detroit in January. The new November timing will be permanent for the L.A. show. My question is....knowing that Detroit, L.A., Chicago, and N.Y are the four largest auto shows in the country, how will L.A.'s move to November affect the rollout of new concepts and production cars for the coming year? Will most of the major manufacturers still wait until January and the NAIAS to showcase ever…

Here are pictures of the 2009 Volkswagen Routan and CC. I took these today at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The Routan is pretty nice for a dressed up Chrysler. Open the hood, and it could be a Caravan though. The CC (no longer called Passat CC) is by far one of the sexiest cars this year. PICTURES: Charlotte Auto Show Displays Strangely enough, all of the domestic automakers were grouped together this year. And by that I mean, all of GM's divisions were together, all of Chryslers divisions were together and all of Fords divisions were together. The Japanese companies chose the opposite approach. Toyota, Scion and Lexus were split up as were Honda and Acura and Nissan and Infiniti. I'm not sure why this is or what mission it served or if it is good or bad or if it really even matters. I figured it was some underhanded attempt by the asians to establish a stronger identity for their luxury divisions since Detroit is struggling, but that could just b…

November 30, 2005 Glimpse into the 2006 Detroit auto show. by Mathieu St-Pierre , Auto123.com As is the case every year, the North American International Auto Show is quite the show. At this point, 6 weeks away from the car event of the continent, over 30 unveilings have been scheduled. For the 2005 show, all the car manufacturers combined for just over 60 premiers and concepts. This means that we should expect the number to double over the next few weeks for the 2006 Extravaganza. So far, nearly every builder that sells their product in North America has indicated that they will have something for everyone. Here is a brief list of what to expect: Audi Q7 SUV…

2008 Suzuki SX4 sedan. Great value for the money. A nice, neatly optioned little car. Only catch: it looks mildly retarded from a side profile. Would you believe $20,095 CAD for this: Look at all the stuff you get:

Anyone going? Turns out, my vacation to the New Hope area is on those same dates. I had completely forgotten about it until the owner of the B&B we're staying at asked if we liked classic cars. So we'll be there.

Hey everyone, for my 16th birthday my parents just surprised me today that they are taking me to detroit for the NAIAS. Every year we got to a local show like Philly and i just wanted to ask some questions to others who have been to the Detroit show before. Are there cars on the floors and open that you can sit in? How crowded does it get on public days? Any other feedback of the show would be great. Thanks guys.

I thought it'd be good to start a list of everything we might see this upcoming auto show season. This list isn't complete by any means, and I didn't list what show that each vehicle will debut at since most aren't known for sure. The one's with question marks are just guesses and are by no means for sure going to debut. Everyone can add to the list since I probably will forget a lot of things, so just post what I forgot then I'll edit this post. I decided to do it by corporation: GM Buick Enclave LaCrosse Super (?) Cadillac Escalade/ESV/EXT Chevy Suburban Silverado (?) Camaro (concept) Avalanche Aveo (?) (North American d…

Hey you CA boys......don't forget that the Inland Empire Auto Show started yesterday and runs through this Sunday out in Ontario in San Bernardino County...... http://www.ieautoshow.com/ The show is small enough not to expect any new intros, etc., but if you want a bit more touching, rubbing, and stroking of the current cars out there on the market, head out to The I.E.....! I'm going on Saturday.....will probably be there from noon through the afternoon.......

Subaru to show three-door, hybrid hatchback concept at upcoming Tokyo show AUTOWEEK Posted Date: 9/28/05 At the 39th Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru will show a concept car called B5-TPH, a three-door hatchback equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat four and parallel hybrid systems. Making its North American debut, here are pictures of the 2009 Kia Soul. I took these today at the Georgian College Autoshow in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. 2 versions were shown (both pre-production and locked). The white was a regular model with nicer wheels. The grey one was tricked out with red dash, seats and wheel spokes. I had expected to see the Forte today, so their slogan really holds true!

The 2009 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) will offer a “stunning glimpse of where the industry is headed,” according to the CIAS web site. “Current economic realities and changing consumer lifestyle choices have dictated a new mandate to world automakers: create solutions that meet an entirely new set of criteria: new engine…

This was my first time seeing the coupe in person. Both variants look much better in the flesh than pictures show. The rear styling on the sedan is pretty awkward looking though! Interior materials and fit and finish is very good. The wall of buttons and general style is not that fantastic. It gives of a kind of "not bad but not great" vibe. I don't know why, but the passenger side airbag cover came off completely. I swear I wasn't trying to break anything! Note the granny special gold Accord in the tent.

I will be Friday & Saturday night draped in C&G merchandise. I shouldnt be too hard to find. I should add I've already met Monte today from the old boards today across the street from the Tech Center at National Coney Island. One cool dude there!
