NHTSA document filings are always interesting as they give us a possible look into the future into an automaker's lineup. Case in point, Jalopnik reports recent filings by GM list a model called the Chevrolet Bolt Incomplete. This is listed alongside commercial models like the Cadillac XTS. A GM representative confirms this will be going into production and said, "This is a new way for fleet customers to leverage the Bolt EV’s incredible range.” No other details were given by the representative. But the folks at ChevyBolt.org were able to uncover a fleet order guide listing a few more details on the Bolt Incomplete. The rear seats will be removed along with t…

Once the diesel rolls out for the 2020 Silverado, it will take the title of most fuel efficient full-size truck on the market with an EPA rating of 23 City / 33 Highway / 27 Combined. The 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder diesel generates 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and also features a start stop system. In the Silverado, the price of the diesel engine is the same as upgrading to the 6.2 liter gasoline V8. It adds, $2,495 to the price of an LTZ or High Country model, or $3,890 to the cost of an LT or RST. Naturally, the engine will be available in the GMC Sierra as well. For those counting, this means the Sierra …

As on the old forums C&G provided imagery of pieces of the GMT900 dash, interior, sunroof, bumpers, hoods, etc here we are bringing an image of the rear and side view of the Chevrolet Avalanche. It should be noted that these images were taken at the sametime as the "spy shot" featured by TCC from Brenda Priddy & Company of the Chevrolet Tahoe Side 3/4 shot of the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche Side & rear 3/4 shot of the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche Ted Krygiers side by side comparison of the current Avalanche compared to the much cleaner GMT900 Avalanche. William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com January 17, 2012 Mark Reuss, GM’s North America President recently dealt some dirt on the next generation Chevrolet Colorado, due out in the U.S. sometime in either 2012 or 2013. Reuss revealed the Colorado’s main target is the Toyota Tacoma. “Tacoma is the volume leader. We know that there’s a buyer for a really good Chevrolet lifestyle sport truck that’s quite different than the Tacoma,” Reuss told Car & Driver. How much different are we talking? Reuss and his colleagues didn’t say. Most likely Reuss brought up the Tacoma in reference to the Colorado being extremely capable in addition to it competing in the …

GM's new Chevy Malibu will be scarcer in rental fleets Sharon Terlep | Link to Original Article @ The Detroit News WARREN -- General Motors Corp. said that it will cut by half the number of Chevy Malibu sedans it sells to daily rental car fleets with the madeover 2008 model. The Malibu had been GM's most fleeted car but going forward the company intends that only 20 percent of its production output will be sold to rental car companies, compared to 40 percent of current Malibus. Those that are sold as rentals will feature amenities such as sunroofs and more luxurious interiors. Over the last couple of years, the Detroit Three have been trying to withdraw from sales t…

NASHVILLE — The 2006 Chevrolet Impala is a solid alternative to Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, considered benchmarks among family sedans. Styling is taut and almost resembles Accord's. Road personality is composed with a hint of sportiness. Comfort is high. Stupidity is low. An optional V-8 engine offers something the Japanese brands don't. A rich complement of standard features — head-curtain air bags, a trip computer, an iPod/MP3 plug, three sets of child-seat latches, OnStar telecommunications and emergency notification service — give Impala advantages over even some higher-price competitors. Thoughtful options — rear seats that flip and fold instead …

Don't know if anyone has seen these, but I thought I'd post them. Here's one of the front that looks like it's from relatively early on: I think I like the headlights here better. Early sketch of the rear: It seems to be a little more round in all areas. Later one of the rear: I'm guessing the production rear will get something similar for the exhuast, and also notice it has a bumper.

I went to the Auto Show today with low expectations. Didn't think the Camaro would be there. There was a considerable amount of people there however. The new Escalade was there to meet you at the front door, drawing a moderately large sized crowd. As we walked through, finally getting to the Chevy exhibit, and looking through the new Tahoes that were out on the floor. Then I saw the 5 projection screens that said "Camaro". And all I said was "Theres no way..." So ignoring everything, I ran over there. Needless to say, it was the single largest crowd of the day gathered around this beast. You could hear mumbles from the crowd "Man that car is beautiful" "Why would I get a …

As the 2007 VUE Green Line sets to make its appearance as GM's first true hybrid offering work is being done on the hybrid Equinox. Naturally one would assume that since they are on the same platform, architecture, etc that they would share the same hybrid drivetrain. From what I've been hearing, the Equinox will feature a different hybrid system than the Vue. The Vue uses the "two-mode" hybrid system that at stop lights the batteries take over while the engine is shut down. Could a "true" hyrid be in store for the Equinox complete with batteries and greater fuel efficency? Only time will tell.

General Motors smallest electric vehicle, the Chevrolet Spark EV will be getting a price cut. Announced today, the Chevrolet Spark EV will now ring at $25,995 (including freight), a decrease of $1,675. General Motors notes that with federal and state incentives, along with customer cash can get into a Spark EV for $14,995. There is also a lease special available on Spark EV, with Chevrolet offering a 39 month lease for $139 a month. More important is that the lease deal doesn't require a down payment, just the usual tax, title, license, and dealer fees. “Chevrolet is committed to making EV driving more accessible, affordable and fun. The Spark EV is already the most eff…

FNR-X Concept - China only or preview to American Market Version? Based on both stories, the FNR concept car WOWed the Chinese market in 2015 and yet never made it to market. Fast forward 2 years to April 2017 and you go from a car to a CUV in the FNR-X concept that Chevrolet says will led the push on Plug-In hybrids for the Chinese market. The plug-in hybrid system seems to be taken from the Chevrolet VOLT and applied to a slightly larger CUV form. The release from GM states that the FNR-X has the ability to from from V mode (Versatility) to S mode (Sport). This also affects the ground clearance and suspension tune allowing the driver to choose type of ri…

Chevrolet Impala LS By Frank Williams July 20th, 2006 If you want to judge a restaurant, don’t order the chef’s specialty. Go for the hamburger or the omelet. If the man in the funny hat prepares these prosaic dishes with the same passion he puts into his Suprème de Turbot Rôti aux Asperges Vertes et à l'Ail en Chemise, you have a winner. The same applies to cars. If you want to judge an automaker’s prowess, check their basic models. Scope the ones with standard engines and base interiors that hide in the back of the lots. A few miles behind the wheel tells you more about the manufacturer’s passion for product than anything their spinmongers could ever publish. …

Chevrolet Speed - Sports Car for the People A Simple Formula 300 hp 3,000 lbs 30,000 Dollars The idea is not to build the best sports car in the world. It is to build the best sports car that the 20~40 demographic can actually afford. It is not the most powerful. It is not the lightest. And it is not the cheapest. But, it is powerful enough to equal a Boxster S at the stop light, it is light enough to approach the FT86 in driving dynamics and, most importantly, it is cheap enough to that a regular college grad can afford one. It is from this car that GM will graduate future Corvette and Cadillac-V owners. Design & Platform The Speed is heavily influenced by th…

[source: Inside Line] Chevrolet Volt's Design Director Snipes at the Aerodynamic Qualities of the Competition Date posted: 07-29-2009 DETROIT — The war of words between the creators of the Chevrolet Volt and its competition are getting ugly. In a Web chat on Tuesday on the corporate GM FastLane blog, the Volt design director accused the competition of "grossly exaggerated aero figures that are not repeatable when we test their vehicles in our tunnel." Bob Boniface, the Volt design director, did not name names. But he made the remark in response to a question by Lyle Dennis from GM-Volt.com, who mentioned that the Tesla Mod…

Today I was eating at the dining center with a couple girls and somehow we got on the subject of what cars we drove. One of them said she used to have a Corolla but her parents recently bought her a Chevy Malibu. I assumed it was a '97-'03, but she said it was a 2004 so I thought that was kinda interesting. Then, as we were leaving, I overheard some guy say "No, I don't have the Civic anymore...I have a Cobalt now." I've also seen a ton of G6's around campus. Could GM be attracting a new generation of car buyers?

Ever since Ford reinvented the Mustang for today’s market, DaimlerChrysler and General Motors have conspicuously been without their own retro hero. In a bid to potentially tap into this market, both Dodge and Chevrolet unveiled such concepts at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show: the Dodge Challenger and the Chevrolet Camaro. The Camaro was first introduced in 1966 as a 1967 model, continuing in various iterations until 2002. Now, the Camaro badge has been resurrected to sit on what was one of the main attractions of last month’s show. The Camaro project was launched shortly after the 2005 Detroit Auto Show at the beginning of last year. The brief called for a reinterpretation …

it'll look pretty bad for sales figures to compare this june july to last june and july when they saw a 20 year high... I'm just thinking if GM has lots full of silverados, and they do another GMS, or something? Mark said he would never do it again... but who doesnt want to sell 1 million cars between 2 months? and the 2007 silverados to finish up the year should see strong sales? what does everyone think?

I keep seeing the new Jetta around. As much as I would not own one, it is much improved. That being said, I cannot help but notice too much Jetta in the new Malibu: overall side profile, greenhouse and door shapes, and trunk height and contours. It really jumps out at me. I think the Malibu will be a hit and I hope so. However, GM needs to stop siphoning some overall design themes (Malibu from Jetta and Enclave from Lexus). That's my humble opinion, anyway. Obviously, I voted yes.

I currently own a 2003 Avalanche. Prior to my purchase of this truck, I was very anti-SUV. I only purchased the truck out of necessity for the management and maintenance of my apartment business. I picked the Avalanche because it was by far the most versatile truck on the market. Since then, I've grown to love the truck so much I can't imagine not having one. I do have my gripes, but lets talk about the new one. The Good The interior upgrade is phenomenal, but anyone with eyes and working fingers can tell that. I never gave much thought to the interior of my '03 because I've always considered it a "work" truck...even though it's a loaded Z71. The switchgear in this tr…

The Malibu LTZ looks way beyond Chevrolet's position in the marketplace. Looks so good on the street....it grabs my attention constantly. I'm talking the top level LTZ only, with those nice spidery wheels, heck this car almost has an Audi cache about it. I see more and more new Malibus around town so obviously the public is getting it. If I was in the market for this sort of car, this is the car of choice for me. So impressed. A job well done, GM and Chevrolet. I like especially it's profile...that lower greenhouse makes it so elegant as it glides by.

The age of the connected car is here as General Motors announced that 14 vehicles from Chevrolet's 2016 lineup will offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility through the MyLink infotainment system. This means GM is one of the first automakers to offer both systems, giving owners a relief when it comes to choosing one over the other. “For most of us, our smartphones are essential. DETROIT — General Motors will produce for the 2009 model year special fuel economy models of four of its biggest, thirstiest trucks, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups and the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs. Grouped under the moniker XFE, which Chevrolet has already used on a high-mpg version of the Cobalt small car, the trucks will return 15 mpg in the city and 21 on the highway. That represents a single mile-per-gallon improvement for both city and highway, compared to non-XFE versions with the same 5.3-liter V8 engine. Unlike the two-mode hybrid versions of the company's big trucks, the XFE models use totally conventional means to achieve their improvem…

They had a writeup of the Corvette with the new 6 speed automatic in the new April Motor Trend. Generally the comments were positive, except they did not like the shifter paddle setup. Myself, personally, I'd also like a shifter on the floor in addition to paddles to have a choice. There are times when either is preferable, IMHO. I wonder if I would take a six speed auto or a true manual. MMMMM Choices........ 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.

China Wants To Know Volt's Secrets William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com September 21, 2011 General Motors has wanted to sell the Chevrolet Volt to China since it's the largest and the fastest growing market for automobiles. Also, China's big cities have seen pollution increase exponentially within the past few years. To fight back, China will offer automakers who offer electric vehicles, subsidies of as much as $19,300. There's a catch if you're a company like GM. In order to get the the subsidy, China wants the automaker to share proprietary technology with the government. GM isn't too keen on the idea and neither are international trade…

December 1, 2011 - Drew Dowdell Of Volt owners surveyed by Consumer Reports, 93% of them replied that they would "definitely" buy another Chevy Volt. However, considering less than 6,300 Chevrolet Volts have been sold so far, that number could change. Another issue with the number is that the survey was complete prior to the NHTSA announced an investigation into potential Volt battery fires that can possibly occur in the weeks following a severe crash. Chevy announced a remarkable goodwill program to Volt owners offering them the option of a free loaner car, even a Corvette, while the NHTSA completed its investigation. Chevrolet had originally announced a goal of 10,0…

The hottest and most competitive segment in the auto industry is the compact crossover, with every mainstream brand fielding at least one or more entries. Fresh off updating the Trax, Trailblazer, Blazer, and Traverse in the last two years, Chevy is circling back to update its bread-and-butter Equinox. Equinox's current platform came out in 2018 with a mild nip-tuck in 2022. For 2025, the Equinox gets a major redesign, inside and out, on the same platform. The headliner for this release is the new ACTIV trim. Representing a ruggedized version of the Equinox, the ACTIV has a unique front fascia, blacked-out badging, 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, a Maple Sugar …

I saw 2 new Impalas on the lot at my local dealer the other day, and I have a few questions about ordering models and options.. One of the cars was a Black SS with light grey leather interior, but it had the woodgrain dash applique instead of the Chrome-ish stuff that I thought was specific to the SS. Can you order an SS with the woodgrain dash, or one of the other models with the chrome? The other car on the lot was a dark gray "3LT" that also had the light gray leather, but it also had the 3.9 V6; I thought that the 3.9 was specific only to the LTZ... this car had LTZ wheels and stickered out at over $28K; seems to me that if you can order a "3LT&…

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...e.promo.1g.*#14 Chevy builds a muscle car out of a truck By Scott Oldham Email Date posted: 12-01-2005 At 130 mph, its electronically limited top speed, the 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS should be wandering around like a wino after a jug of dry chardonnay. But it isn't. Despite sharing aerodynamics with Carnegie Hall, Chevy's new muscle-bound SUV is dead stable and…hold on a second while I pass this truck…requires nothing more than a few fingertips on the steering wheel to keep it pointed straight down the road. Even when passing these 18-wheelers traveling at half our speed…like this one…it just pours past wi…

Chevy Aveo performs poorly in European crash test Posted Feb 27th 2006 2:00PM by John Neff Filed under: Economy The European New Car Assessment Program (E-NCAP), which is sort of the EU equivalent to our own NHTSA or IIHS, recently tested the European version of the Chevy Aveo and found it to be severely lacking in occupant protection during 64 kmh (40 mph) frontal impacts. The risk is especially great to the driver, as the E-NCAP tests showed the Aveo’s steering wheel may cause severe chest injury. The Aveo received two stars and a strike through in the category of Adult Occupant Protection, the strike through indicating there is a high risk for life-threatening inju…

Chevrolet Volt Losing Interest With Consumers William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com August 16, 2011 Chevrolet's Volt, one of the most hyped vehicles in recent time is beginning to show signs of losing interest. According to CNW Marketing Research, interest in the Volt by buyers has been dropping. In March, more than 21% of ‘early adopters,’ said they would consider a Volt. When asked the same question in July, the number dropped to 14.6%. It's a similar story with "EV enthusiasts". Back in March, 25% said they would consider a Volt. Now, only 17% would consider one. Most alarming; CNW says "In fact, all categories of new-car intenders are…

Word on NHRA forums is the Camaro will replace the Cobalt as the choice in NHRA's Pro Stock Division. We may be seeing a AC Delco Kurt Johnson Camaro as soon as late next year. [in testing] Keep in mind These cars are now carbon fibered bodied cars so no sheet metal is needed. This is the first indication GM has a motorsports program started for the new Camaro. The question is where else will it show up. IMSA, SCCA, NASCAR ???? NASCAR is looking to the Pony cars as replacments for the cars now used. they want them to be different from the Cup Cars. The BUSH series is getting a new sponsore in 2008 and this would be a good time to bring in a new car. Sorry n…

Chances of a Mid-Engined C7 Corvette? Link to Original Article @ Winding Road This issue of Winding Road showcases a discussion with some analysts and experts about the direction the next Corvette is going to take and while its all but certain that the C7 will be a front-engine rear-wheel drive car as it has been for over a half century, the possibility is entertained that a mid-engined 'Vette could be sold alongside a tradtional one. Click here for the article in its entirety. Quick notes: Final designs have been submitted to Ed Wellburn from design teams this June. C7 (GMX711) will debut in 2011, coinciding with Chevrolet's centennial. One possibility is for a mid-…

The Mother of All Vettes on the Mother Road By Bill Baker Email Date posted: 12-01-2005 I had driven a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 more than 2,000 miles from Chicago searching for bits of Historic Route 66. In California's Mojave Desert there was a long, lonely stretch of the old road that just might let me flirt with the 6's top speed of 198 mph. I hadn't passed anyone in miles and I could see the road ahead was empty to the horizon. I dropped the six-speed gearbox from 6th to 4th and floored it. Like a cathedral pipe organ playing Bach's "Toccata" with all the stops out, the 7.0-liter, 505-hp LS7 V8 began to thunder and howl toward it…

The Ad Campaign You Can't Ignore: Chevy Malibu Sharon Terlep | Link to Original Article @ The Detroit News WARREN -- So much is riding on the new Chevrolet Malibu that General Motors Corp. will back it up with an ad blitz as big as last year's $300 million launch of the top-selling Silverado pickup. The pickup launch went down as one of GM's biggest ad campaigns in history, and now the automaker is vowing similar treatment for its redesigned midsize sedan -- a segment long neglected by Detroit's Big Three. The stakes couldn't be higher for GM and the Malibu, which hits showrooms Nov. 1. The sedan is the automaker's most critical launch in years at a time when more f…

http://www.superchevy.com/features/camaro/...tion/index.html Death of the New Z28 Camaro writer: Jim Campisano photographer: Jim Campisano No sooner did our news story come out about the supercharged 2010 Camaro Z28 in the August Super Chevy ("Bow Tie Briefs") that we got a call from a panic-stricken source at General Motors. "The Z28 is dead. Call me back," the message stated. A little history: In said news article we talked about the late-2010 introduction of the top-of-the-performance-ladder Camaro named Z28. The base V-8 Camaro would be the SS with a 400-plus-horsepower LS3, but for those who wanted to go hunting for Shelby GT500 and GT500KR Mustangs, ther…

Guys, the Blazer is coming back! Hooray! Its going to be a crossover that slots between the Equinox and Traverse. *Blank looks from the crowd* I'm sure there are some that were hoping that the Blazer nameplate would return on something similar to body-on-frame Trailblazer/Blazer sold in various parts of the world. But if you have been keeping a close eye on Cheers & Gears for the past year or so, then you would know Chevrolet has been working on a crossover to fill in the white space between the Equinox and Traverse possibly named Blazer. Tonight in Atlanta, Chevrolet pulled the curtain back on their new midsize crossover. The Blazer looks to be a …

http://gm-volt.com/2010/03/26/gm-exec-gen-3-voltec-battery-to-have-shortened-lifespan-simpler-shape-and-be-offered-in-smaller-ranges/ Some thoughts: - I'm assuming Gen 3 will be out 2020ish. If GM is planning all these ways to cut costs on the battery in 2020 then they must not be expecting LiIon batteries to drop much in price in the next decade+. - GM's move to smaller ranges makes a lot more sense. I've always argued the smaller the battery the more utilization and the more sense it makes for more people. This is also a little tip of the hat by GM to Toyota that Toyota was on the right track with the plug-in Prius range. - I love the "no point in going from 40 t…

This thread that had a bunch of rumors in it, one of which was a Camaro with a V8 under $22,000, got me thinking: Why not put a V8 in the base Camaro? It'd be great for advertising, and would basically compete with Ford's V6 Mustang. Even if it didn't have 300HP, it'd still be better than the Mustang's 210HP V6. What about fuel mileage you say? If GM does a Gen IV 4800 with DOD, I'm guessing it'd get pretty good mileage. The 5.3L LS4 with DOD in the Impala gets 18MPG city and 28 MPG highway, and weighs 3700lbs. The difference in weight should be enough to give the Camaro a bump of 1-2 MPG alone, and the 4800 should get better mileage t…

Chevrolet Volt Named Motor Trend 2011 Car of the Year DETROIT – Motor Trend magazine, one of the world's premier automotive authorities, today named the Chevrolet Volt the 2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year. "We expected a science experiment, but this is a moon shot," Motor Trend editors wrote for the January 2011 issue. "The Volt delivers on the promise of the vehicle concept as originally outlined by GM, combining the smooth, silent, efficient, low-emissions capability of an electric motor with the range and flexibility of an internal combustion engine. It is a fully functional, no-compromise compact automobile that offers consumers real benefits in t…

We know that Chevrolet will be sending the Bolt concept car into production late next year, but there a number of items still up in the air such as what will the production model will be called. Surely Chevrolet won't keep the Bolt name as it introduces confusion with the Volt, right? Tim Mahoney, Chevrolet's marketing chief tells USA Today that Bolt is sticking around. "The decision is made. The name won't be changed,"said Mahoney Mahoney explained that while the two names do sound similar, it provides Chevrolet "an advantage." That advantage is the Bolt name "association with Chevrolet is nearly immediate,"since the Volt is a well known Chevrolet. Mahoney went onto …

I knew they were hunting this guy! How dumb do you have to be? Whenever you walk into an automaker's factory or engineering facility, there are signs prominently displayed letting everyone know that cameras and camera phones are prohibited. Unfortunately for an electrician at the General Motors Assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario where the Camaro is due to begin production late this year he ignored the warning. Worse yet, he took some shots inside the body shop where pilot production units were making their way down the line and then showed them to his kids. The youngsters evidently extracted said photos and shared them with the world. The electrician with 28 years of s…

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...photopanel..1.* The 2008 Chevrolet HHR SS does not want to kill you. This cannot be said of all its competitors. We don't want to name names here, so let's just say that the HHR SS has really only one direct competitor, the Dodge Caliber SRT-4. This competitor acts like a drug-addled co-driver who grabs the steering wheel and saws wildly if you dare to use more than a feather's touch of throttle. What the hell are we talking about? Why our old buddy torque steer, of course — that troublesome houseguest of powerful front-drive cars. But the HHR SS badly wants to be your friend. And despite a few rough edges, it's a prett…

Later this year, you'll be able to pick up a Chevrolet Equinox with a 1.6L turbodiesel engine that promises an estimated 40 mpg on the highway. What hasn't been revealed is how much the diesel will set you back. But the folks at CarsDirect have uncovered it. The diesel option will $31,435 for the LT and $33,930 for the Premier. All-wheel drive adds $1,750 to the base prices. What do you get for the money? The LT comes with 17-inch wheels, cloth seats, a 7-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet MyLink, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and rear park assist. The Premier adds 18-inch wheels, leather seats, 8-inch touchscreen, and dual-zone climate control. …

Chevy unveiled the 2021 Trailblazer today, filling a space between the Chevrolet Trax and Equinox in the lineup. This follows the recent release of the Buick Encore GX that fills a similar but more premium space. Picking up on styling from the larger Blazer and the Camaro, the Trailblazer takes an aggressive, sporty posture. Yes, there also will be an RS version, but no word yet on what powertrains will be available. Chevy is finally going to start offering active safety features as standard, something the competition started doing a few years ago. The standard active safety features are Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assi…

Picked up my Volt on March 10th. Volt #1712. Black w/black cloth interior. The only option are the polished wheels, which look great with black exterior and the other touches of chrome trim. Each Volt displays their build number as part of the NAV screen display. I'm not sure if that will always be the case or only for the first model year. I had no real intention of getting one, I had been monitoring my local dealers through CARS.com to see if there was one within 50 miles of me, just so I could see one and perhaps test drive. No dealers had one in JAN or FEB. In early MAR one showed up at a local dealer. I went down on a Saturday to check it out. I was told it…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com February 19, 2013 With the introduction of the new Corvette Stingray, everyone is wondering what will be in store for the Z06 and ZR1. Motor Trend has some early indications of what to expect. The Z06 will stick naturally aspirated 7.0L engine with the power output possibly reaching 600 horsepower. The power output for Z06 will not be made till they get the final power output for the ZR1. If the ZR1 produces 700 HP, then the Z06 will have 600 HP. If the ZR1 produces somewhat less than 700 HP, expect the Z06 to be somewhere in the mid 500s. The ZR1 will use a variation of the Stingray's LT1 V8 with a supercharger. So…

Had an opportunity to take a spin the Bolt yesterday.. this model stickers at $41K and was pretty loaded. The car is very nice. First thing that struck me was the space. Outside I saw what looked like a compact car.. or more appropriately an alternative design to my ex's Encore. Inside I was greeted with a very clean sheet design.. still Chevy/GM, but with Silicon Valley influence. The ride was another strong, positive point. While not "Tesla quick" this was ever bit as quick as my Impala. Compare that the Tesla Model S 60 pulls the sprint to 60 mph in 5 secs. This Bolt does it in 6.3. If this were a race.. a drag race... with pinks or pride on the line.. ye…

We knew the Chevy Beat was making an appearance in the overly-named Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The new news is that one of its "triplet" siblings, the Chevy Trax concept, is joining it, as you can see above. The two are chasing/following Bumblebee down Philadelphia's Front Street. Proof of GM's new commitment to building more smaller, fuel-efficient cars, you ask? Eh, well, as you may remember, Trax and the third triplet, Groove, were not slated for production like the Beat, so this is (unfortunately) probably just a movie special. At least one Autoblogger is happy, though (raises hand), because Trax is the one he voted for last year. Transformers Live Action Mo…
