There's not much to show of it, but GMC announce that the GMC Canyon AT4 would be coming in early 2020 at an event in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The AT4 package is a ruggedized look that falls between the SLT and Denali in GMC's lineup. Right now, AT4 is only available on the GMC Sierra 1500, Sierra HD, and the 2020 GMC Acadia. On the Acadia, the AT4 package is simply an appearance package. On the Sierra, it actually adds a 2-inch lift kit in and red recovery hooks. GMC has promised that every vehicle in the lineup will get an AT4 package (though we doubt that is true for the Savana), leaving the Terrain, Canyon, and Yukon as the holdouts. The AT4 package on the…

GMC's Vehicular Diet Future lineup adds crossover but loses other lines 2009 GMC Canyon Sketch by Burns Link to Original Article @ AutoWeek | Published 07/30/07, 11:46 am et AT A GLANCE: FUTURE PRODUCT PLANS 2009 Canyon refreshed 2010 Acadia refreshening likely Sierra refreshed 2011 Small crossover debuts ---------------------- Crossover: A compact crossover will be added for the 2011 model year. Essentially, the vehicle will replace the Pontiac Torrent under the Buick-Pontiac-GMC sales channel strategy. GMC's mission will be marketing trucks; Pontiac's, strictly cars. Acadia: GM likely will freshen the Acadia crossover for the 2010 model year; a V-8 engine may b…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com May 16, 2013 This is an odd way to introduce a new body style. General Motors released a press release today talking about the aerodynamics of the new pickups. The pictures used for this press release was the regular cab version of the 2014 GMC Sierra. Now it doesn't take that much imagination to figure out what the regular cab version would look like, but I have to say it looks very nice. The Sierra regular cab used in the photos is the Z71 model with the standard bed. We'll have more information on this when the truck goes on sale later this year. Hello - My wife and I are looking for another SUV and I'm just curious what you all think of the Suburban vs the Yukon XL and the Yukon XL vs the Escalade ESV. Do you think the significant price hike between the XL and ESV is worth it? As best as I can tell, the noticeable differences are a much better quality trim (leather-wrapped in the Escalade - painted plastic in the Yukon), the Escalade has a Bose 5.1 surround system, a bigger navigation screen and a better ride (IMO.) The downside is, even with my GMS pricing, it's $12k more and it doesn't have Active Fuel Management and FlexFuel (stupid move on GM's part) I appreciate any feedback and insight.

Is it a sure thing that one of if not all of the GMT-900's will be shown at the Texas State Fair? 06 Yukon production is supposed to end in early October, don't expect 2007's before January. Does anyone know if a 5-speed auto will be used or if a hybrid will be out right away?

GM Tuner Rolls Out Production Version of Ironhide From Transformers Movie Date posted: 07-06-2007 | Link to Original Article @ Edmunds MONROE, Wis. — All Transformers fans know that Ironhide is the slowest Autobot, but also the least vulnerable to attack. He transforms into a GMC TopKick 6500 pickup — and now a GM tuner has rolled out a production version. Monroe Truck Equipment, in association with toymaker Hasbro, says the production version of Ironhide includes custom 20-inch aluminum painted black wheels fitted with monster 40-inch tires. From the not surprising file, a spy photographer has gotten the first indication of a Canyon Denali. Back in September, we reported that GMC's chief wants a Canyon Denali, but didn't give a possible timeline for when it will come out. Pictures show a prototype Canyon wearing the Denali's chrome mesh grille and chrome bumper behind some camouflage. Now the prototype doesn't feature a chrome rear bumper like other Denali models. But it doesn't mean that the production model will not feature one. No pictures of the prototype's interior, but we expect the usual Denali upgrades. Source: Autoblog View full article

I'm curious, and maybe someone can enlighten me. What killed the Envoy XUV concept, yet the Avalanche and Escalade are doing well! I would think that a mid-size multi-function truck would have solved many needs in the marketplace. Was is overpriced? Did it not perform its multi-tasks well? Did it have any mechanical or functional problems? In that vein, many people have asked for the Nomad concept vehicle..... and GM continues to ignore them, yet it has built 3 iterations of the concept, since the '55-'57 Nomads. It even built a Nomad van for a while, and then discontinued it. Why? Do multi-function vehicles compromise too much? Why hasn't a Colorado-sized version…

GMC is giving its off-road oriented Sierra AT4 some more performance with a recently announced package. Called the AT4 Off-Road Performance Package, it will add a 6.2L V8, performance air intake, cat-back performance exhaust system, and a set Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires with 18-inch alloy wheels. The intake and exhaust add 15 horsepower and 9 pound-feet of torque over the stock 6.2L V8 - total output stands at 435 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque. The price tag for this option is $4,940 which may put some people off. You can buy most of the parts a la carte, but as The Truth About Cars notes, it will be slightly more expensive than buying the package. …

GMC: Crossing over this fall Automotive News / August 21, 2006 - 6:00 am Acadia: GMC adds a mid-sized crossover called the Acadia for the 2007 model year, built on General Motors' new front-wheel-drive Lambda architecture. The Acadia will be GMC's first crossover and will hit dealerships this fall, soon after Saturn launches its new crossover, the Outlook. The vehicles share the same architecture. The Acadia has three rows of seats and can seat up to eight people. It will be powered by a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine capable of 267 hp. Small crossover: GMC will not get a small crossover. Such a vehicle had been penciled in for the 2009 model year, developed on a shortened …

This combination of a V8 in a small package is very enticing, because I like to offroad a little and this truck would be sweet for this purpose. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/13/v8-chev...yed-until-2009/

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com January 24, 2012 The only way to tell the difference between the current Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra is by slight differences in trim and equipment. That will be changing for the next generation models. Mark Reuss, GM’s North American President said during an interview that the next generation pickup trucks, due out in 2014 will be more distinctive. The plan is to move the Sierra more upmarket with more standard equipment, more distinctive sheetmetal and corresponding higher sticker prices. A plan like this has worked for GMC's SUV lineup. “I think you will see equipment and models attacked very differently. I…

GMC's chief, Duncan Aldred has a dream. He wants to see a Denali version of the new Canyon midsize truck. "I'm pushing the engineers and designers to give me a credible Denali,"Aldred told Automotive News. "I'm not just going to badge engineer it. It's got to be credible." Aldred says the Denali lineup made up 20 percent of GMC's mix in 2013. He wants to see that increased to 25 percent in the next few years and believes a Denali version of the Canyon is the ticket. "I'm going to sell quite a lot of Canyons, so that's kind of going to halt my progress" if the pickup doesn't eventually get a Denali version, Aldred said. Aldred wouldn't reveal what he would like to see …

Check out the pictures someone ignored the embargo on of the new GMC Zeta. I will not post the pictures here but you cvan see them at Aublog.com Boys I think we are looking at the future and it looks great. We have a Zeta with truck like shoulders. GMC added a hybrid system to this and made a vehicle that would make a joke out of the Toyota and Honda entries in this small unibody truck market. The XT has a V8 and should have many of the abilities of the old 1/2 ton truck but in a more Crossover/Car like platform. I can see this as a way to combate the loss of truck sales and move people to a more higher mileage platform. Now if they could also do this in a l…

Inside Info: Acadia Denali We’ve just spent the day in Silicon Valley driving GMC’s new Acadia crossover SUV, a Yukon-sized unibody powered by a 275-hp version of GM’s 3.6-liter V6 and six-speed automatic. Now GMC has the driving impressions embargoed until Sunday, so we can’t tell you what it’s like behind the wheel of this big beast quite yet. But we can tell you what we learned after conversing with one particularly cool (and loose-lipped) GM staffer: GMC will have a Denali version of the Acadia soon. It’s probably no surprise that GMC would plan an Acadia Denali—after all, the upscale Denali model of the Yukon accounts for almost 50 percent of Yukon sales. As a br…

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com March 15, 2012 It only seems like a year ago when we got our hands on some spy shots of a GMC Terrain Denali mule running around metro Detroit. Well fast forward to today and General Motors is unveiling the Terrain Denali, almost a month before the New York Auto Show. The big news for the Terrain Denali comes in the powerplants. The stalwart 2.4L four-cylinder sticks around as the base. But the optional 3.0L V6 bids adieu and in its place is the 3.6L DI V6 producing 301 HP and 272 lb-ft of torque. GM says the 3.6 will deliver the same fuel economy as the 3.0L while providing more power. And the 3.6L will not be a Dena…

2017 GMC Acadia - Denali or All-Terrain, what would you choose? As I have spent time with my son looking at various CUV models, I cam across the new Acadia and learned they had a monochromatic version that I think is very sharp looking. GMC has built a very nice profitable line by offering Denali on every model they make. Yet not everyone likes Chrome all over. So this brings up the desire to see what people think. I configured up two near identical CUVs with the only difference being the All-Terrain package on an SLT2 equipped Acadia and the Denali package on an SLT2 equipped Acadia. What are your thoughts? I do not really want to worry about a big rig horn with all the compressor and mounting junk so just a quick replacement for a louder/deeper horn would be great. ANY SUGGESTION???

Was in the Phoenix area this past weekend and while driving down the highway I spotted (or should I say, was passed by) a GMC Acadia. Tried taking a couple pics, but as you can see they didn't come out very good. I would've gotten some better ones but the woman was getting crabby about it. 2007 Yukon is a leap forward in styling and content By Paul & Anita Lienert The redesigned 2007 GMC Yukon got plenty of advance publicity months before it went on sale in February, as much for General Motors' questionable timing as for the full-size utility vehicle's extensive makeover. Critics have questioned why GM focused so much of its development budget on big trucks and SUVs at a time of stratospheric fuel prices and increasing foreign competition in passenger cars. But the Yukon and its siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade, were pretty long in the tooth and desperately in need of a major overhaul. In any context, the '07 Yukon is a huge step…

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received two reports of fires on 2007 model year Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs. Both reports allege that the vehicles were parked in a home garage with the engine shut off when the fires occurred, causing significant property damage. The investigation, which also includes the 2007 GMC Yukon SUV, involves about 423,000 SUVs. General Motors Corp. spokesman Alan Adler says today the company was coope…

GMC says that at first, the CarbonPro edition will be available in limited numbers of Denali and AT4 models and will expand availability of the package in those trims for 2020. The CarbonPro bed is lighter than a steel bed by about 60 pounds, but has much stronger durability and scratch resistance. When you have the Nav CD in the player, you have no option to play music CDs. This seems like a typical GM oversight to me. Even the Caddy does not offer a CD changer. You get one extra slot for 1 more disc. Better, but still not adequate. Comments?

Hi there. I have a problem with my 93 Astro. It is mechanically sound, but will shut down for no reason we've yet been able to determine. Some days it will run all day without any problems, some days it will run for 20 minutes and then ... nothing. There aren't any unusual noises associated with it, it just stops and refuses to start. The mechanics who have so far looked at the problem have thought that it might be any of the following: crank sensor, fuel pump, fuel sender relay, or the computer. If anyone has any ideas, has had this problem, or can direct me to a resource that will better be able to assist me with it, I'd appreciate it a whole lot. The vehicle is…

Ok guys, I need someone's help that maybe works at the factory or a dealership. I just ordered my 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, well, it will be a while till I get it, so I was in my office just going through the brochure, reading about all my new goodies coming my way and noticed a discrepancy. When I filled out the order form in the audio section, it was an extra $300 or so for the in dash 6 disc changer on the radio. I hardly listen to CD's so I just took the single CD because it didn't cost any extra. However, looking through the brochure, I notice that on the SLT trim that I picked, the 6 disc in dash is standard with that trim package? Called my dealer and asked if he co…

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...icleId=120718#8 Road Tests Full Test: 2007 GMC Sierra Denali The luxury truck you didn't know you wanted By John Pearley Huffman, Contributor Date posted: 05-14-2007 At this moment, the 2007 GMC Sierra Denali is the most powerful pickup in regular production that money can buy. Dodge let the insane Ram SRT-10 fade away last year, Ford hasn't built the beloved F-150 Lightning since 2003 and the newly muscular Toyota Tundra is more than 20 horsepower behind. In fact the only open-bed contraption that matches the Sierra Denali pony-for-pony is the Cadillac Escalade EXT, which shares GM's 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter OHV V8 and…

My Dad has been ready to replace a 2000 F-150 that was worn-out. My parents have been long-time, loyal Ford buyers...I have worked for a Ford deale since 1992. Their first consideration was Expedition and F-150 Super-Crew. Mom currently drives (and LOVES) her 2002 Explorer. Dad was very interested in the Nissan Armada, and some of his co-workers suggested a Ridgeline. So he looked, drove, and then took Mom along to test drive again. And again. Mom & Dad's thoughts: Expedition and F-150 - good reputation and good $$ deal with my family plan pricing, but looks are a bit too bland. Performance feels weak. Armada - very impressive overall, great seats, ni…

Glad I found you guys on here! This is my first post on the site, I hope it helps! I'm looking at ordering a new 2008 GMC 2500 HD. I am in the construction buisness and my Yukon is just not cutting it anymore. I have some questions that when I ask the local dealer, I'm not so sure they really know what they're talking about, hopefully someone on here does. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is the 6.0L V8 available in the HD with Active Fuel management? IF so, how do I spec it on my order? Why does the trailering capacity drop almost 3000lbs when you select 3.73 gears vs 4.10 in the gas motor? I want the better economy of the 3.73 rear end, but don't know i…

Acadia Takes The Lead GMC crossover is expected to be new plant's top seller By RICK KRANZ | Link to Original Article @ AutoWeek LANSING, Mich. - General Motors expects the GMC Acadia to be the best seller among the three new crossovers it builds near here. The 2007 Acadia and Saturn Outlook and the 2008 Buick Enclave share GM's new front-drive Lambda vehicle architecture and are built at GM's newest assembly plant in Delta Township, Mich. Through May, 28,264 Acadias were sold, compared with 12,694 Outlooks and 1,905 Enclaves. Enclave production started in April. The base Acadia has a $29,990 sticker price, and the Outlook starts at $27,990. Both prices include shi…

I'm wanting to buy an Envoy, but before I buy a 2007 I'd like to get a preview of what they are going to change in the redesigned 2008 models. I'd hate to buy a 2007 and then a couple months later wish I had waited for the 2008. However, I don't care for the change of the 2006 Yukon to the 2007 Yukon design. So I don't want to wait too long and not be able to order a 2007 envoy if the 2008 doesn't look very good. Can anyone help or give advice? Thanks

GMC's first Front-Driver Back in 1973, GMC launched its first front-wheel drive model. Thoughout GM's history, they've launched so many radical vehicles from the "copper-cooled" Chevrolet of the 1920s to the electric and steam-powered prototypes of the 1960s, but this one is one of the most radical...and, oddly enough, one of the most mainstream. And it was a movie star...check it out and give your thoughts! http://automotivetra...r.com/jump/3031

I just flew into beautiful soggy Orlando, Florida for a convention and decided to rent one of the Lamda trio for the week I am here to see how it handles it's duties day to day. We will be transporting people to the show, 5-7 of them on certain days, as well as showing customers around a few bakeries in the area. Unlike my normal one-person point of view when I rent a car, I want to see how it handles the people and the luggage that goes with them. Also, my wife and I will be considering this truck and the Saturn sibling when her lease is up on our lemon-y unfresh Commander. So at National I pick up an Acadia SLT FWD in bright silver over grey leather. Pretty attrac…

The Jeep Wrangler really has no equal. Sure competitors come on the scene to try and take on the Wrangler, but they go away after awhile - see the Toyota FJ Cruiser as the latest example. But that isn't stopping automakers from taking a stab at it. Case in point is GMC. Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred tells Edmunds that is looking at strengthening the brand by looking at the possibility of introducing new models. "We are looking at everything. What segments will grow? What segments will not? We are evaluating all possibilities that could really turbocharge the brand and the growth," said Aldred. Aldred says at the current time, GMC is in the brainstorming stage …

The last few weeks have been awash with reports about huge price increases in the large crossover segment. The 2024 Hyundai Santa will jump over $5,000 on some trims, the 2024 Ford Explorer jumps $4,360, and the sibling to the GMC Acadia, the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse increases, at minimum, $3,580. So it is no real surprise to see a report today from CarsDirect that the order guide is showing some versions of the 2024 GMC Acadia are going up by over $6,600. The GMC, like the Hyundai Santa Fe, likely has the best excuse for such a large price increase, it is sizing up as well. For 2024, the Acadia's wheelbase grows 8.9 inches, overall length grows just over 10 inches,…

It will actually be his personal vehicle, but he's a real basics kind of guy and didn't want power anything or carpeted floors. So he finally found a dealer that had, or I should say would pick up, what he wanted. A white 2007 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 2WD with 4.8L V8. Crank windows, manual door locks, and hose-out flooring. Only option other than the extended cab is cloth seats instead of vinyl. He haggled the dealer down to $22,500, including tax and licensing fees, from $24,900 excluding tax and fees. Plus 0% interest, and I think he's putting $2-3k down, so he got a damn good deal, IMO. I'll see if I can get pictures and his impressions when he picks it up this week…

In case it hasn't been mentioned it before, last night I found a new forum exclusively for the new GM Lambdas. It is centered around the Acadia, but there are sections for the Outlook and Enclave as well. The web link is here--Acadia Forums. I registered myself last night under the screen name imgntht. If anyone else is a current/soon to be owner, or just wants more info on them, this looks like a nice informative place.

GMC seems to be following Chevrolet's idea of offering different versions of its trucks to suit different buyers. Case in point is the recently revealed 2019 Sierra 1500 Elevation. Starting with the double cab variant, GMC adds a combination of body-color and backed-out accents, along with a set of 20-inch wheels finished in black. Under the hood resides the recently unveiled turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder producing 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque. Optional engines include the 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower and the 3.0L turbodiesel inline-six. You will have the choice of two or four-wheel drive. GMC will also offer the X31 Off Road Package that brings Rancho…

GMC had a hit on their hand when they introduced the GMC Canyon for the 2015 model year, but they've not done a lot to refresh the truck visually since then. Six years is a long time for a truck to go without a refresh, but in 2021 the Canyon will get one. In addition to the visual refresh, the Canyon is getting a new AT4 trim line like that of its big brother the Sierra. The AT4 designation brings new 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires on 17-inch aluminum wheels, an off-road tuned suspension with advanced hill descent control system, four-wheel drive standard along with a G80 rear automatic locking differential, and a transfer case skid plate. Visually, the …

All Cars Central Obituaries: The 2005 GMC Envoy XUV Born: 2003 Died: Not Soon Enough! Well, it seems that the General Motors section has gone un-noticed for the last few weeks. That is primarily due to the lack of exciting news from our friends at General Motors since the mid-grade debut of the Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne doublemint twins at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show. The lack of posts in each respective article shows that GM is really stirring up excitement with us here at All Cars Central. However, if you jump over to GM, for obvious reasons, they are toasting the DTS and the Lucerne as the best thing since power windows and safety glass. Incidentally, both po…

"To me, there is more room for SUVs in the GMC stable. An obvious place for GMC to be if it expands is that small SUV segment," said Duncan Aldred, head of Buick and GMC last August. It seems GMC planning such an expansion if new spy shots are to be believed. It is difficult to tell whether or not this is a GMC as the two test mules are under numerous layers of camouflage. But we can make out the brand's slotted grille in the front. For some time, we had been hearing murmurs about GMC possibly building a Jeep Wrangler fighter. But judging from these photos, it seems that it will be a subcompact crossover to compete against the Jeep Renegade and Ford EcoSport. Ac…

Well I was looking at GMC and then I was all ready for a Colorado ZR2. Well I tried to order the Chevy and ran into many hurdles. Most were incompetent dealers with no clue, some were greedy dealers and then you had the honest dealers who already ordered in a color I did not want. i got tied of the lies at one and the incompetence at the others and started looking at GMC again. in a way Idid benefit by the grief. I changed from the extended cab to the crew. Then I went to look at the SLT package and found what may have been one of the few discounted Denali truck around and in Red as I wanted. i went to drive the Denali and it was much the same but sti…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com May 29, 2013 Another day has come and General Motors decided it was time to reveal the new 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. The new Denali will continue to be the flagship of the Sierra lineup and come with more power and exclusive features. While it doesn't take that much to imagine what the new Sierra 1500 Denali would look like, we have to say the new model has some presence. There is a unique chrome grille, twenty-inch chrome wheels, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, and body-color front and rear bumpers. Inside, the Denali comes equipped with leather with contrasting stitching, heated and cooled s…

Checking out the GMC lot, I noticed many of the new Sierra's come with "chrome-clad aluminum wheels" which looked like a steel wheel (based on where the rim meets the tire) with a Chrome-plated plastic cover. The 17"s are still cast aluminum, but all the 18s seem to have these plastic wheels. What's the buyer advantage?

TCC Test: 2007 GMC Yukon Denali If you aren't put off by the price or the fuel economy and need something in a full-size SUV with all the comforts of Bill Gates' home, the Denali is your truck. But as fewer customers are willing to clear those hurdles, the day may not be far off that Smithsonian starts clearing a spot next to its locomotive in the museum for vehicles like these. Edmunds Evaluation: 2007 GMC Acadia We learned a few facts that surprised us while driving the all-new 2007 GMC Acadia. First, GMC is The General's second best-selling division behind Chevrolet. In fact, GMC's sales are up more than 80 percent since 1991, and it's had record sales in 11 of the last 13 years. The division has also found great success in its "Denali" branding, with those premium versions making up nearly half of all sales for every model line that offers them. GM representatives expect similar success from the upcoming Sierra Denali line. So why would a division with this much success at selling pure "trucks" want to dip its tow ratings in the crossover…

GMC isn't ready to say good-bye to the current Acadia. Automotive News reports that the current Acadia will be sold alongside the next-generation model starting this spring. GM spokesman Brian Gobel said both models will be sold for a limited time, although a timeframe wasn't given. Gobel explained the decision to keep selling the old Acadia was due to manufacturing. The current model is built at GM's Lansing, Michigan plant, alongside the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse. With the next-generation Acadia being built in Spring Hill, Tennesse, this leaves a huge gap in the production schedule for Lansing. For the time being, the current Acadia will continue to be bu…
