Not the best or most thorough comparison, but still makes a lot of good points, with the Ford prevailing in the end: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...photopanel..1.* I'll say it again, too. We have an '04 Suburban, and my mother is a GM SUV lover, but I've now seen and played with several '07 GMT-900's and a couple '07 Expeditions, and I'd choose the Expedition hands down. Much better sorted packaging, more realistic and not inflated pricing (still a bit of an issue with the GM's), more sophisticated and refined under the skin (with the Ford MUCH improved even over the previous model), and just a very well done package throughout. Still love a lot about t…

  2. Chevrolet's new Camaro is the last of the neo-ponycars to hit showrooms, and now it's finally possible for you to put your money where your mouth is after all those breathless "I'd buy one..." comments. Dreamers and real buyers alike can head to the new Camaro Configurator website and trick one out just right. The price of entry for a base-trim LS model is a mere $22,995, and it still looks fantastic – there's something about those black steelies with trim rings. A V6 that belts out more power than some of the storied V8s of yore while netting 29 highway miles per gallon is a persuasive argument for going base, though we couldn't help ourselves and wound up with a…

Driving North on US-23 (Brighton/Hartland, MI area) this mourning I saw the strangest thing. It was defiantly a Camaro but it was nothing I've ever seen before. It had prototype camo only on the front end / grill area. It was large, had a retro look, long hood, white with orange stripes. What I saw was reminiscent of a 1st generation front clip and spoiler with the side profile similar to that of a 4th gen. At first I said to myself, "Can it be? Not driving down 23 at 8:30 in the mourning". And then less than a mile behind it was an SUV covered in camo top to bottom. Either GM is testing the new Camaro or someone with to much time and money is butchering Cam…

"There’s no doubt it’s a world-class machine at speed – and at coming down from it. Some high-performance cars can be squirrely when you stomp on the brakes at triple-digit speeds, but the Z06 stays straight as an arrow, even in mixed conditions. Only in the tightest hairpins does it object to your commands in the slightest, eventually bringing its rear end around and then catching it if you don’t. Despite the massive amount of power on tap, it’s easy to find your confidence in this car, and learn a few things along the way. That is, until you reach the end of the road. After a few lapping sessions, the engine in mine unceremoniously called it quits. There was oil, some …

Today, Chevrolet revealed the base price of the Colorado ZR2 which begins at $40,995 (includes a $940 destination charge). That will net you the extended cab model with the 3.6L V6. In fact, any automaker that focuses its creative, financial and corporate resources on a halo car risks forgetting how to do what it did to get those resources in the first place—and an eventual plummet…

Well the first set of spy shots have come out and it appears there is a lot in store. Underneath all of the heavy camouflage, we can tell that Chevrolet is going with a more aggressive look and a lowered roofline. It will also need to share it's architecture with a family of CAFE friendly vehicles, in order to make it economically viable. Alpha is the only architecture which comes to mind. This prompted cries of "GM LIED!" and "IT'S JUST A HYBRID!" due to the fact that since near the beginning, GM has been marketing the Volt as an electric vehicle with an onboard range extender and it had no physical connection from engine to wheels. 55. Our intrepid trademark investigator Blake Noble has uncovered two new filings from General Motors. Filed on January 21, the two filings are for the Chevrolet Spark Activ. So what could this possible Spark model be? We have a couple of guesses: An even smaller crossover in Chevrolet's lineup More fuel efficient version of the Spark Now we should say that even though GM has trademarked Spark Activ, it doesn't mean they will actually use it. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. Source: US Patent Office View full article

The three-box Chevy sedan arrived with the new-for-1949 Chevrolets, which grew proper trunks that were flattened and pulled out from the old bustle-back Fleetlines and Master Deluxes of the streamliner era. How many of us saw Dad off to work in a Biscayne or a Bel Air, or remember the mall lots clogged with Novas and Caprices? The Chevy sedan was everyman’s car, the car you drove if you cared more about value than flash. Malibus were once everywhere, even in Malibu, but the Japanese long ago moved the bull’s-eye for high-value conformity, and Chevrolet has struggled to hit it. Too big, too small, too boring, too unreliable; the mid-size Chevy sedan devolved into a ca…

Corvette Timeline This is a cool webpage. Back before I joined C&G, I would frequently visit this site to get the latest on C6 Corvette info. It inevitably lead me here. Now that all of the C6 is out, it is a great referrence of past concepts, prototypes, spy shots, and renderings; mostly of the C6. C7 speculation had started, as well as some Blue Devil talk, but its been a long time since I last visited it and it seems that it hasn't changed much. Anyways, it's interesting to look back at the speculation. Check it out.

The system is avoids the weight and cost burden of a big battery, while benefiting from an efficient asymmetric combustion cycle. Engines include a base 2.5L four-cylinder diesel producing 150 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.8L four-cylinder diesel producing 180 HP and 346 lb-ft of torque. Well I can see the Camaro selling well at first, but with gas at $4.30+ I don't exactly seeing it achieving those numbers. Maybe if gas was still at the $3.15 range... What do you guys think? Will gas prices make it go the way of the Gen 4? If Gen 5 fails, then I don't see it ever coming back.

The steering was spot on and had good feel. The engine has good low end torque and was much faster than it felt. The exhaust had a great sound from inside but not over bearing to make it distracting inside on a long trip. The Ride was very smooth and not a creak rattle or hollow sound of the old cars to be found. This car may not have ultra high limits but it is a real world car that makes driving fun. Originally thought to be badged as 2010 models, new information now pegs the revisions for the 2011 model year.
