Remember that feature of TVs a few years back where you could watch 2 shows at the same time with what was called "picture in picture"? Well, this is not exactly the same, but I photographed non-digital pics I took circa 1988-1997. Maybe someday I'll get 'em all scanned in and placed online somewhere.... It's funny how old pictures reveal a lot about your past that you had forgotten, in terms of people and events.... Wonder where some people are today.... Hey guys. Not only did I attend the Fall AACA show in Hershey on Saturday, I also attended a small car show in Windsor, NJ on Sunday. I took some pictures and have them in a Photobucket album: Link Of particular interest, there were two cars I took pictures of that are for sale: the 1955 Oldsmobile 88 (Red & White two-tone) and the Black & Silver 1978 Riviera Anniversary model. If anyone is interested, I did get phone #'s. The Olds really is nice (window sign stated $19,500); the Buick was equally as nice, is low milage and kept in a garage (I believe the owner is asking just under $9,000). Let me know if you want the phone #'s.

Whew, I just got done posting pictures from the 2006 All Camaro & Chevy Show on the PNWCC photo gallery. You can check them out at PNWCC Photo Gallery This year's show pics are under the club events and then 2006 events. I also added a bunch of pictures from various events throughout the year's and a couple of our member's cars that I just got pictures of. One event that I added was this year's NAIAS. We had members go to that and tour the GM Heritage Museum while waiting for the New Camaro to unveil. Anyway, check it all out and feedback is always appreciated. Enjoy!

Since I took pics of pics of my family's wrecked vehicles... took some of non-wrecked ones, too. Again, our 00 Grand Am SE wrecked: Our 89 Regal and 96 Grand Am SE sitting beside each other: Our old 83 Plymouth Turismo and 8? Cutlass: My cousin's 91 Firebird: BTW, please excuse me as a baby... Those are the only pics I have of these vehicles. Also excuse the poor quality. I don't have a scanner as you know... So I have to take pictures of pictures with my digicam and as you also know, my digicam sucks.

....make me say "WTF?" As I'm watching them now, they're currently "pimping" an 80s Toyota van. So far they've painted the exterior with a blue fade....with orange flames. On the interior, they've installed two dog bowls (the owner carries around dogs) with a TV for the dogs to watch...ok. Plus, they've done the panels and seats in an ugly gray and blue scheme. But then, what do I expect? They rarely do up a car tastefully. <_<

So, anyone ever had it before? Did it go away quickly? Anyone mistake you for a drug addict? I woke up with it this morning in both eyes. I am absolutely miserable. I can't see worth a $h!, my eyes ache constantly, and I have to clean $h! outa my eyes all the time. I'm hoping that it goes away soon, but the problem I have is that I am allergic to sulfa drugs. And, all the eye drops for pink eye are sulfa based. So they gave me some ointment that might work or might not. If it doesn't I'll hae to keep trying different things until something works.

Pink Floyd certainly is a bizarre name for a band, isn't it? It is widely thought that the band is named after two American blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. There is an alternate story that Syd Barrett got the name from a flying saucer, but then again, Syd Barrett was drugged out of his mind. However, I have recently discovered that the name Floyd means "the hollow." Ponder that for a moment.

Well, I just got back from seeing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Its a 2h-45m long movie although it doesn't feel like it in the least. I loved the movie, it was a whole lot darker than the first, which I liked and it was far funnier. The biggest thign that I saw was that the Transformer's movie was one of the previews that strung along. I got a kick out of seeing it and whispered to my wife "we'll be seeing that". So has anyone else seen the movie?

That's just not what I thought...that women like to talk about their cars more than men do. Any ideas why this would be?

But on the NBA side, this has been amazing. I am starting to nitpick my truck, which usually means another new vehicle purchase is only a few months away. It won't be 2 years old until January 23rd and it has 27k miles. In heavy rains, it leaks. The headliner gets wet at the top of the driver's A-pillar. Also, it suddenly has a bunch of rattles in the doors and underneath. And I fear I am hearing the wear indicator on the front brake pads already. It's going in on Tuesday for a free promotional oil change and a brake inspection. I don't want to sound petty, I mean the truck runs fine, and starts with barely a flick of the key. It does have a couple very minor scuffs from people carelessl…

Nothing very exciting, and I admit I muttered 'mechanical a$$hole' after I found a few bugs, but how much can you expect from a 20-yr old truck that's been beaten & abused? 1990 Chevy, 350, 4-spd auto, 4WD, RC/SB, black, red velour interior (reeks of smoke), power windows & locks, tilt, aftermarket radio w/ 8-disc CD changer. Plymouth in it's heyday had huge sales, often in the top three in America. It was sad to see this brand disappear. It was created as an economy division. The name Plymouth is often thought to derive from the landing of the Pilgrims, but what finalized the deal for the name was the very popular, at the time, 'Plymouth Bindertwine'...which most people were aware of. Plymouth went onto great success. Here are some of my favorite Plymouths.

It's kinda sad that all of the ones that have been gunned down in recent years have been green, in their 30s, with wives and families. That is until some f-ed up degenerate takes him away from them. Polish newspaper claims 'Pedobear' is 2010 Vancouver Olympic mascot A Polish newspaper mistakenly identified "Pedobear", a notorious internet meme, as one of the mascots of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The Gazeta Olsztynska published an image showing the bear alongside genuine Olympic mascots Quatchi, Sumi, Miga and Mukmuk to illustrate a feature about the Games. It appears that the newspaper lifted the picture from Google Images, unaware that it had been created as a prank by Michael Barrick, a Canadian artist and graphic designer. Pedobear, who is on the far right of the picture, was originally devised by members of the anarchic 4chan message board as …

I can't wait for the backlash to hit on political correctness, but I don't think it's coming anytime soon. I tend NOT to be politically correct. It's a form of censorship. Europeans, for example, are nowhere near as politically correct. They stereotype their "neighbors" all the time. South Americans...they are even worse in this regard. I will say that I am diplomatic around clients and there are some that are fairly casual so you can be the same way - heck, some of our clients are salt-of-the-earth builders. At work, I tend to hang around people with whom I don't have to be politically correct. Socially, I prefer to be around people with whom I don't have to w…

How long is too long a time to leave a political yard sign up? Or to keep a bumper sticker for a particular candidate or issue on your car? It seems that most yard signs were pulled down the day after the election around here, but there are still stragglers, like the people up the street who continue to display a sign for a candidate who lost on Tuesday. I only had one yard sign ('twas in reference to a proposition, not a candidate) and I pulled it out Wednesday morning. My car had one bumper sticker (for a candidate who was elected) and that was taken off last night. The other car has so many bumper stickers (for just about everything imaginable) that someone behind…

I don't want to turn this into politicizing, or an attack on any one group or party, though it is clear what party my outrage is against. I am not trying to attack the group, but moreso the leaders of it who are in office now. The ones who are, sadly, corrupting their party and leading this nation down ever more tenser halls. Why should we divide so much? Why can't we all just agree and meet in the middle, that's supposed to be the beauty of our government, is that we have two parties to check and balance each other for the benefit of the public. Those of us into cars are a special breed. Many of us keep our cars as if they are another member of the family. So when we see friends or relatives mistreat their vehicles, it raises hairs on the back of our neck. What annoys you the most about these people? Is it: How messy they keep their car? I have a relative that just picked up a clean used Ford Explorer 6 months ago. I saw it when he first got it and while it is a 2006, it was clean and in decent shape. I saw it again over the holiday weekend and it was loaded with junk, brake dust all over the wheels and in need of a bath. Their disregard for for regular maintenance? Back in high school I h…

Answer the multiple choice questions and it kicks out the city that is best suited for you... Link to Blogthings - American city that's a best fit for you Then there's another one...it's which city you are most like... Link to Blogthings - American city you are most like I've got a problem here. As for the city that's a best fit, I took this quiz (#1) and manipulated the 3 questions which I'm "on the fence" about and still get: 1) Atlanta (duh...I lived there and loved it) 2) Honolulu (no interest in living in Hawaii) 3) Las Vegas (eh...for a weekend) 4) Miami (like the area a lot) 5) Austin (don't know much about it, but I've heard good things) As…

Who needs fuel injection when you can have a carburettor? If my camera had sound, I could show you more, but alas, it doesn't. Here is some pics to accompany the video. The first one anyways. The second is just a random pic of the road-salt covered Beast. That is what you call a pollution machine. Typed words are nothing when you can see it for yourself. Isn't the black smoke lovely? Leaves the snow looking lovely, as well. In other news, when I started it after to work to let it warm up something odd happened. After 10 minutes when I came back out to check if it was still running (has a habit of randomly stalling), I couldn't tell if it was running, but I…

I've been thinking... Rather than getting a loan and buying something nice right away, should I just look into another beater? Course, one that isn't as much of a money pit as nor as inefficient as the Cutlass. I currently have about $1200 saved up that could go towards something... decent. Nothing stellar, but something affordable to drive around in while I attempt to sell the Cutlass. As mentioned, the Cutlass is too much of a money pit, especially in gas. This would allow me to save money at a much greater rate. Some of you still think I should put it into my Millenia, but at the moment its on the back burner until something changes on the diagnostic level. I would…

OK, so I seem to remember a Pontiac ad from magazines or maybe a full line brochure. I would love to have it as my desktop, but I cant find it on the web. Does anyone have it scanned by chance? If noone does I may have to dig out some old brochures to see if I can find it. OK, the ad was (I am pretty sure) a GTO, Bonneville and Grand Prix all in one pic, and I think they were made to look like they were sitting at the end of skid marks that would look like they spun them into place for the picture. It would have to be 2004 or 2005, methinks. Bueller? Bueller?

In researching the Olds Aurora, I visited a fan site. I found the following at one of them. (Link to the site.) I think they should have used the Euro Civic Hatch as a base instead. The Bonneville looks nothing like a shoe unless you've seen an old Green Giant commerical and consumed three pints of Johnnie Walker.

OK, as some of you know, I am going to be in my niece's wedding in Scotland in July 08. All the men in it have to wear kilts, much to my dismay. Because it is so far away, I have to do my 1st kilt fitting tomorrow night, so the measurements can be sent back to Scotland so my kilt will be ready and waiting for me when I arrive. So tomorrow night I will be in Media, PA, being fitted for my dress/kilt. I guess you can tell I'm not into the spirit of the thing yet, nothing a few beers won't cure. :AH-HA_wink:

I was wondering if I should go ahead into looking at a 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2M4 that is for sale in Orangeville. I spotted it on Craigslist. The car is an 86 w/ 80,000 kms. It needs a front bumper, brake work, and a new battery. What do you guys think? Are these cars potential problems. I have heard of many breaking down frequently. Would this be worth it ot just be a money pit? I dont think I would want to drive this in the winter so that is something that would turn me away. What do you think?

July 22, 2008 Modern Classics: Pontiac Fiero, 1984-1988 http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jb2...ntiac-fiero.htm Pontiac Fieros. By Jeff Burry Pontiac Fiero, 1984-1988 Mid-engine sports cars are not generally associated with General Motors. People are more likely to associate them with exotic carmakers such as Ferrari and Lamborghini. However, the Pontiac division of General Motors produced such a car in the mid-1980s. The car was badged Pontiac Fiero, Italian for "proud." Conceived by John Delorean, and designed by Hulki Aldikacti, the car's chief design engineer, the Fiero was a two-seater, mid-engine sports car built for the masses. It was Ald…

Is it me or does the aftermarket aluminum dash installed in this G6 look suprisingly good? That one close up shot looks like it came straight from the factory! Though it could be a little more understated, I think it really dresses up the interior nicely! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-GT-...611215357QQrdZ1

Pontiac Facts Alcoa made an "all-aluminum" Pontiac. It was a 1942 two-door streamliner and had its engine and other parts made of aluminum. In 1943, Pontiac designed a one-quarter-ton 4X4 truck proposed for build by Chevrolet. Some non-military work started again at Pontiac Engineering in 1943. Work was started on a five-inch Rocket Bomb in 1944. Pontiac also started making a 155mm shell. GM Coaches were worked on at Pontiac in 1944. There was almost no road testing due to restrictions on manpower and fuel in 1944. An experimental Pontiac 6 with a supercharger was built in 1945. An experimental Pontiac 6 with an aluminum intake manifold dual carbure…

This is an actor who raced, and acted in a well known racing film. He starred in a production that involved the totaling of a whole lot of pontiacs back in the 1970's... Guy was the first draftee from Oklahoma in the Korean war.... He starred opposite Sally field in a major motion picture... Give the name of the Racing movie, the production that wrecked all of those Pontiacs...and the movie he made with SallyField. Good luck, you should get this one easily....

Probably an old joke, but I came across this while reading jokes about engineers. -- The Pontiac that was Allergic to Vanilla Ice Cream For the engineers among us who understand that the obvious is not always the solution, and that the facts, no matter how implausible, are still the facts ... A complaint was received by the Pontiac Division of General Motors: "This is the second time I have written you, and I don't blame youfor not answering me, because I kind of sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a tradition in our family of ice cream for dessert after dinner each night. But the kind of ice cream varies so, every night, after we've eaten, the whole fa…

I stumbled over this nice Wiki chart of top sales figures in the US since 1899. It's amazing how nobody was able to touch Ford between 1911 and 1926, and then the 1927 Chevy came in and swooped up top sales and Chevy's first million units in a year. It seems Chevy and Ford duked it out for the top spot between the Great Depression and about 1971, then Chevy entered a first place winning streak until Ford barely edged above in 1988. In 1990, Ford regained first place for another 10 consecutive years. What amazes me is that Pontiac was GM's best selling brand in 2000. Anybody have any idea how this might have happened? I can't think of any major Pontiac debuts in 2000…

From 1955-57, Chevy had the famous Nomad and much has been written about it to the point of iconic status. But another General Motors product also had a version. The Pontiac Safari. It is relatively rare and rarely mentioned. 1955 1956 1957

A friend of mine that I have known for 30 years talked to me on the phone tonight. He and I shoot pool all the time when we get together. Anyway, we tells me he has been going to a new place to shoot pool, which he thoroughly enjoys. Turns out it is a strip joint. He tells me he shoots pool for a while then gets a table dance. He's been going once a week for a while now. He tells me that a stripper pulled him aside, and gave him her number and said she wanted to get with him outside the club. Now thats a first. I need to check this out when I go to visit him next month. There's more to the story, but I will leave that off here in the interest of keeping it clea…

Rob works hard at the office but spends two nights each week bowling, and plays golf every Saturday. His wife thinks he's pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she takes him to a local strip club. The doorman at the club greets them and says, 'Hey, Rob! How ya doin?' His wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before. 'Oh no,' says Rob. 'He's in my bowling league. When they are seated, a waitress asks Rob if he'd like his usual and brings over a Budweiser. His wife is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and says, 'How did she know that you drink Budweiser?' 'I recognize her; she's the waitress from the golf club. I always have a Bu…
