Ahh let the photos do the talking... I know it has been posted and someone said it was in the Camaro design studio/zeta one. They were right here is my final attempt to prove it. I wouldn't be the Volt either, although looks similar. A FWD Hybrid would not be a in RWD V8 Studio in Warren MI would it? I think we just caught our first look at what could be the next Impala. Or as I say busted!

Funny... I see no resemblance between the 2014 Impala face and the 2015 Cruze face... the new Cruze looks much more like the Sonic in the front end, which has me scratching my head... I thought the Impala and Traverse were going to be the "new face of Chevrolet" going forward. I thought the Chevy Trax wasn't coming to the US because it wears Chevrolet's "old" face... yet this new Cruze has the split grille and swept-back headlights with clear round elements, a la Sonic. I thought the new Cruze was supposed to resemble the '14 Impala, I was ready for that, I was excited to hear it... but... Something fishy going on.

DETROIT – Chevrolet announced the new 2008 Equinox Sport, a performance-oriented variant of the popular compact SUV. It has an aggressive stance and a sporting nature, thanks to a lowered suspension, bold 18-inch wheels, a powerful, 263-horsepower (196 kW) DOHC engine – backed up with a six-speed automatic transmission with manual tap up/tap down control – a tuned exhaust and unique exterior appointments. Details such as body color fascias and the elimination of the roof rack contribute to the sleek design, making the Equinox Sport an uncompromising performance vehicle. “The Equinox Sport embodies all of the value-driven performance ingredients that have made Chevrole…

Anyone has an '06 Impala base with the 3.5L? How does the engine feel? I was wondering what if this engine was put into other cars, as so far only the Impala has it. And no, it's not the exact same 3500 in other cars. It has a different RPO code.

A fresh stack of spy shots of the upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has arrived and we have gotten our first look at the interior. The picture reveals that the blocky dash design of the current truck is sticking around. The center stack design is similar to what you'll find in the GMC Acadia. It appears this mule is running a new version of Chevrolet's MyLink system with a new status bar along the bottom. We also got some new clues on the 2019 Silverado's exterior. It appears Chevrolet is keeping the blocky profile shape. The front end gets new headlights with LEDs and a revised bumper. We still don't know much about powertrains for the 2019 Silverado excep…

So we were in Fitchburg looking at a house (which was an interesting story in and of itself). On our way out of the city we passed by a Chevrolet dealership. On the lot was an Equinox FCV. I thought that was both very cool and quite peculiar. I was not expecting to see one of these in person, least of all at a dealership in some unimportant medium-sized city.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs. 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Comparison Test Sit Down, Brace Yourself Then, just as we were convinced the GT500's power was utterly untouchable, we moved on to handling tests and things changed. Our first hint that there's something truly special about Chevy's ZL1 came when it calmly circled the skid pad at 1.03g — a number higher than the last Chevy Corvette ZR1 we tested and matching the McLaren MP4-12C and Porsche 911 GT2 RS for the highest lateral acceleration we've ever recorded for a production car. Wait. Isn't this a Camaro? Yes, yes it is. The best Camaro ever. At 70.8 mph it was also quicker through the slalom than the GT500, w…

Malibu Maxx stands alone NEW VEHICLE REVIEWS By Russ Heaps SPECIAL TO THE WASHINGTON TIMES November 25, 2005 If you still need evidence that there is indeed forward thinking going on at General Motors, take a gander at Chevrolet's Malibu Maxx. Before evaluating details such as the quality of materials used inside the cabin, keep in mind that Chevrolet's assignment in the GM pecking order is affordable transportation. Even its halo vehicle, the Corvette, is remarkably price competitive in the two-seat sports car arena. So while Malibu may not have the panache of, say, a Toyota Camry (When have you ever before seen panache and Camry used in the same sentence…

Some of you may have seen this elsewhere but I thought I'd share: The personal and private collection consists of 110 + Chevrolet convertibles... all years from 1912 to 1975 and Corvette convertibles from 1953 to 1975. That is a Chevy convertible from every year of manufacture EXCEPT 1939... The reason? - Chevy didn't make a convertible in '39 -- and ended its convertible line in '75!

My wife and I went over to our local Chevy Dealer (Loren Berg Chevrolet) to test drive the new Camaro. We got to be the first "customer" to drive it, so we took it home and got some pictures of it in front of our home (for proof). In typical Loren Berg fashion we took it out without any salesperson in the car. It does help that I am friends with the owner, Loren. The car drove just like all the reports said it would, darn near perfect. It is a Silver V6 model with the RS package. You can see pictures of it at www.flickr.com/dsuupr

At January's Detroit Auto Show, GM pulled the wraps off of one of the most highly anticipated new cars of the year – the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, also known as the C7 or seventh-generation 'Vette. The introduction of the new Corvette marked the return of the LT1-moniker to GM's new-generation small-block V8 engines, the revivial of the Stingray name itself, as well as an interior finally worthy of a car intended to fight on a stage with such cars like the Porsche 911 and numerous other sports cars and supercars from Europe. To the dismay of loyal 'Vette enthusiasts, the new Stingray also marked the end of more traditional Corvette styling cues such as round taill…

I just purchased a 2006 Colorado 4x4 Extended Cab Z71. I really don't like the small 15 inch wheels and tires and would like to replace them with the 18 inch wheels that come with the Extreme and the ZQ8 sport suspension option. Is this a possible swap? I have always heard that 2wd wheels will not work on 4wd trucks, but its not like I'm going mudding with it and putting all of the stresses of a 4wd on it daily. Some hauling, some towing, but thats about it. Does anyone know if this will work? Also, does anyone know what the tire conversion would be from my 15's to the 18's to keep the same diameter, speed, and braking the same as it is now? Thanks, any help o…

Earlier this week, we reported that Chevrolet wouldn't be showing anything at next month's Detroit Auto Show, deflating the dreams of many that the mid-engine Corvette would finally be revealed. We found ourselves wondering if something happened that caused Chevrolet to rethink their plans. GM Authority has learned from sources that a problem with the next-generation Corvette's electrical system has been found. The current system isn't able to carry the load necessary to support the necessary components in the vehicle. This will result in engineers making various changes to the system and suppliers to come up with new parts. This has reportedly pushed back the launch…

Automaker racing to get first plug-in hybrid on the market by 2010 DETROIT - General Motors already has five hybrid vehicles on the road, but it is banking its future on a radical departure onto the green road: By 2010, the automaker hopes to have a plug-in electric passenger car in customers' driveways. I love delivering the unexpected. And right now, the unexpected is a General Motors vehicle that uses no fuel,” said Bob Lutz, GM's vice chairman of product development, who introduced the Chevrolet Volt concept car to enormous attention in January at the North American International Automotive Show in Detroit. For Lutz, who was brought out of retirement six years ag…

Best I saw on the GM-Volt forum was $28.24/month with $0 drive-off + $700 Costco cash card... so the net cost of the 24 month lease was actually -$22.24. The most important part is to pay attention. Bring the revs up to 4,000 rpm and sidestep the clutch in the 2007 Callaway C16 and watch as nature telescopes aft with exponential speed, as if someone had knocked the nut off some kind of hydrant and the landscape had suddenly begun to blow past you. Some 616 horsepower from a supercharged V8 has an uncanny knack for distorting the senses. Callaway Cars is well-known among Corvette cognoscenti for some of the baddest Corvettes since the C4 was in diapers, and now the 2007 Callaway C16 is the company's latest example of neck-stretching, head-turning Corvette performance. We drove a C16 for two days and discovered that it wa…

http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103218 That bugs me that GM didn't bother increasing the wheelbases from where they are now. Why? What were they thinking? Manueverability, Schmaneuverability, every other large SUV has a longer wheelbase-and wouldn't it make sense to base Tahoe/Yukon on the same wheelbase as the regular-cab standard (6.5-foot) box like the 1995-99 originals?

Chevrolet has announced that the next-generation Volt will debut at the North American International Auto Show next year. This announcement came from Tim Mahoney, Chevy's global chief marketing officer at the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefings. “Volt is the perfect example of the ingenuity that drives everything we do at Chevrolet. Volt fully delivers on the promises of Find New Roads and will continue to provide consumers with the transportation solutions they need and deserve in the future,” said Mahoney. We don't know much about the next-generation Volt, aside from the new model getting a more sleeker look. Source: General Motors William Maley is a…

"And we are still working on it," Peper said. Sales begin in the first quarter of 2009. Jamie LaReau contributed to this report. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com June 11, 2013 At the moment, Chevrolet is currently sitting on a 140-day supply of Volts, more than double the amount supply analysts say is healthy. How is General Motors going to cut down the supply? By piling on incentives! Chevrolet spokeswoman Michelle Malcho tells The Detroit News the company will be offering $4,000 off on 2013 Volts and $5,000 off on 2012 models. Alternatively, you can do a 36-month lease on a Volt for $269 with $2,399 down at signing or can be purchased with zero percent financing for 48 months and receive $3,000 off. Total Volt sales for the year stand 7,157 units, an increase of 1.4 percent. H…

Ford is readying the 2015 Mustang, while Dodge is getting the refreshed 2015 Challenger ready to be sent out to dealers. What does Chevrolet have in store for the Camaro? Well the first set of spy shots have come out and it appears there is a lot in store. Underneath all of the heavy camouflage, we can tell that Chevrolet is going with a more aggressive look and a lowered roofline. The wheels appear to have been moved closer to either end, and the rear end has been trimmed a little. Other details to take note include the quad exhaust pipes, large hood vents, and a big spoiler. This leads to some speculation that we're looking at high-performance model such as the SS or Z…

Kurt B noted this anniversary on the Monte Carlo Mailing List before I had a chance to the other evening.... 20 years ago today (December 11) the Monte Carlo was discontinued. A quote from the GM restoration packet: "The 1988 model year marked the end of an era. The Aero Coupe had been dropped. The Monte Carlo was made available in LS and SS versions only. After approximately 3 months of production, Chevrolet opted to completely cancel the Monte Carlo model. Sadly, production ceased on Friday, December 11, 1987, at 5:29 PM." Most of us knew this was going happen, but there were some that hoping that somehow the Chevrolet SS would continue on after production of the Holden VF Commodore ended. To those who fall into this camp, it is time to move on as the SS will be no more after 2017. Alan Batey, head of GM North America confirmed this yesterday at the Detroit Auto Show. Batey also said there would not be a replacement for the rear-drive sedan. “Obviously it’s unlikely there is anything to follow because of what is going on in Australia. It was an optimistic play from our perspective and it’s played out well and been a nice addition to the range. It’s not mainstream. It’s small volum…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com May 28, 2013 When General Motors unveiled the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the 6.2L LT1 V8 was producing 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. However, the 6.2L wasn't certified by the SAE. That has changed today as the 6.2L has received its SAE certification and the numbers are official: 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. If you equip the available performance exhaust, those numbers jump to 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet. “The LT1’s performance complements the Corvette’s low mass with a tremendous feeling of power that builds as the rpm climbs. Drivers will…

Month 3 update for Volt 1712: A sense of normalcy and routine has set in for me as the Volt completes month 3. No issues or problems to report. My employer installed electric charge stations late last year and I was the first to use them starting in March. This month, I've been joined by two other Volts. The stations are in the Visitors parking lot, so many folks do a double take when they see the Volts parked there as it's still not a typical sight to see. As I mentioned last month, I've been driving in Low/SPORT and have reached a high of 51.7 miles in EV mode for one charge. I traveled 747 miles in May and used less than a gallon of gas (0.7). As of June 1st, …

Reuters has just reported inside sources have confirmed that GM has chosen LG Chem along with Troy, Michigan-based Compact Power Inc. to supply the lithium-ion battery packs for the first generation Chevy Volt. The contract will be announced in November and the terms are still being worked out. GM and Compact Power are apparently working out the details of the commercial agreement and how to split warranty costs for the batteries. GM hasn’t confirmed these reports but an LG Chem spokesman in Korea stated “we were informed that the results are due in November, but we didn’t get any official answer from GM yet. We hope for and expect a good result.” As we have heard…

Corvette Timeline This is a cool webpage. Back before I joined C&G, I would frequently visit this site to get the latest on C6 Corvette info. It inevitably lead me here. Now that all of the C6 is out, it is a great referrence of past concepts, prototypes, spy shots, and renderings; mostly of the C6. C7 speculation had started, as well as some Blue Devil talk, but its been a long time since I last visited it and it seems that it hasn't changed much. Anyways, it's interesting to look back at the speculation. Check it out.

Since Holden announced that it would end Australian production in 2017 and that the Commodore would go to a front-wheel drive platform (rumored to be the next-generation Opel Insignia), questions have been raised as to what would happen to the Chevrolet SS. The SS is American-ized version of the Holden Commodore with a 6.2L V8 engine and the choice of either a six-speed manual or automatic. For a time, it was rumored that the SS would live on. But a new report says the SS is a dead car walking. Whenever a new set of spy shots come out, the photographer tends to have an idea of the vehicle in question. But that isn't the case with this set of spy shots. The vehicle in question is a Chevrolet Crossover that was driving nearby General Motors' headquarters. But no one can seem to agree if this is the next-generation Traverse or the rumored crossover that would sit between the Equinox and Traverse. Motor1 believes it's latter since it is about the same size and shape as the downsized GMC Acadia. This new model could be wearing the Blazer nameplate. No matter which model this turns out to be, we can be sure the front end will feature a similar design to the …

When is the Silverado/Sierra going to debut? I thought I had seen that the Sierra was going to be at the Houston Auto Show back in January, but it didnt come here. Then the spy pics popped up and what not. So what's the hold up? I mean...it is obvious now that the SUV platforms all look the same. Tahoe/Burban/Avalanche share the same nose. Will the trucks also share it as well...or will it be different? I want them shown already!

After a 2001 Ranger, then a 2005 Scion Tc, then a 2007 Mazda CX-7, then a 2008 Infiniti G37.....drum roll please....we got him into an '09 Avalanche on Monday afternoon. Nicely loaded LT with leather, rearview camera, Bose, etc. Drive-out was about $37K, representing a fantastic savings versus MSRP. I never ever imagined him in such a vehicle...especially a Chevy...but here we are now, and it's a reality. Note: his partner drives a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 Crew Cab. How wonderful to see them with two GM products in the driveway.

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 16, 2013 Its been awhile since we got any new information or spy shots on General Motor's next-generation midsize trucks. However that changed this week as new spy shots came in of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon doing some hot weather testing. We knew that our version of the Colorado and Canyon's exterior design would differ from the version sold in the rest of the world. The shots show the front ends of the two trucks taking cues from their bigger brothers with similar grilles and headlight setup. The spy shots also revealed that one of engines that GM is currently testing is a V6 VVT engine. That means we …

Silverado LTZ interior: Silverado LT interior: Big-Time Launch GM's upcoming full-size pickups arguably the company's most important new vehicles in years AutoWeek | Published 07/31/06, 5:42 pm et General Motors is introducing its next-generation full size pickup trucks, the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, two trucks that could help lead the General out of its financial doldrums. GM says the trucks have been redesigned from top to bottom: They have new exterior and interior designs, new engines and new chassis. The Silverado and Sierra are offered with three cab styles, three cargo box lengths and several suspensions setups. GM hopes the range g…

At the GM show n' shine, they had a crew cab Silverado, grey exterior with grey two tone leather interior. The exterior was my least favourite configuration with its short short bed, smaller wheels, and full chrome front end. It's the interior that tells the story. Believe it or not, while the plastics in the Tahoe's interior are acceptable, the LT actually had more soft touch. It's a very classy evolution of GM's past themes in their fullsizers. I can say with a straight face that I like the "work truck" dash better.

We've gotten 16,500 views on a thread with only semi-official pictures in less than three days. We've gotten over 5,400 views on the Official Concept Thread in less than 14 hours And we've gotten signatures, polls, desktops, and (most importantly) restored faith and hope to get a Camaro on the streets. Coming from a relatively small forum, I sure hope you're keeping tabs, GM. :AH-HA_wink:

Looks like we'll be doing our part to help GM. We expect to take delivery New Years eve on an 09 Malibu 2LT. It's being brought in from another dealer as our local one (Jack Evans Chevy Cadillac) didn't have the color we wanted in stock. I commented to the sales rep that I really don't care for the alloy wheels which come standard on the 2LT V6 model. They remind me too much of the Impala SS wheels which, to me, look too truck-like. So any rate, on to my point of this post. The car which we're getting, apparently has optional wheels installed and I'm not certain from the description, which ones they are. It won't kill me (maybe) to wait until Wednesday but I'm cu…

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...rticleId=123695 Vehicle Tested: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ 4dr Sedan (3.6L 6cyl 6A) MSRP of Test Vehicle: $27,245 Price It!! What Works: Handsome styling inside and out; fit and finish jumps a leap forward; sure-footed chassis; not-too-hard/not-too-soft ride tuning. What Needs Work: Noisy power steering; rear seat feels compartmentalized for 6-footers; one-dimensional mpg-oriented transmission. Bottom Line: The new Malibu jumps smack in the middle of most consideration lists. It might even sell well to the lost generation in California. General Motors exec takes Chevy Volt to Capitol Hill today David Shepardson | Link to Original Article @ Detroit News | Washington Bureau Plug-in hybrids will be on center stage in Washington today as the Chevy Volt makes an appearance on Capitol Hill as part of General Motors Corp.'s effort to convince Congress to pass a more palatable fuel efficiency increase. GM's No. 3 official, Troy Clarke -- head of North American operations -- is returning to the Hill today to meet with a about a dozen mostly undecided lawmakers. He also will show off a GM concept car, the Chevy Volt, in trying to explain why the company believes the long-term answer to energy independence is t…

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com January 27, 2012 The Chevrolet Volt has been getting a lot of negative press over the past few months dealing with the fire that happened a month after a NHTSA crash test and ensuing investigation. Because of this, General Motors has launched a new ad campaign talking about how the safe the Volt is. The campaign will include full-page ads in nineteen different U.S. newspapers including The New York Times, touting the safety of the Volt. Also, GM has a new television ad that calls the Volt "the car America had to build." The launch of the ad campaign coincides with Wednesday's Volt Hearing in D.C. Source: Bloomberg …

"Range anxiety is real. Take it from someone who has been stranded with his wife in an electric vehicle not once but twice: You’ll want to watch the distance-to-empty gauge of an EV with a close eye. This is even more critical when the temperature drops below freezing, which is exactly why we ran a 2018 Chevrolet Bolt EV on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy loop in icy February to gauge how low temperatures affect electric range. ... With the thermometer’s needle pointing at 36 degrees Fahrenheit, we headed out with the cruise control set at a steady 75 mph. We averaged 83 MPGe. Compared with the 102 MPGe we recorded in a 2017 Bolt in 56-degree weather (nearly ide…

Here are more pictures that I took at the Chicago Auto Show. I will be adding a Chevy truck thread also. The first picture is of the HHR Spring Edition. The second is of the HHR which looks even better in orange. Impala SS: Sorry about it being a little blurry. The Impala LTZ's interior. I think it looks just as good as any of its competitors. The new grill on the Malibu makes it look a lot more desirable. The interior of the Malibu is improving every year but GM needs to put wood trim around the center vents of change the color of the plastic because that section still looks rather boring. Chevy Monte Carlo SS tail light: I personally like the je…

Our intrepid trademark investigator Blake Noble has uncovered two new filings from General Motors. Filed on January 21, the two filings are for the Chevrolet Spark Activ. So what could this possible Spark model be? We have a couple of guesses: An even smaller crossover in Chevrolet's lineup More fuel efficient version of the Spark Now we should say that even though GM has trademarked Spark Activ, it doesn't mean they will actually use it. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. Source: US Patent Office View full article

Here is a neat video on a HHR SS. It looks like he was fast while it lasted. I don't know if he lost the engine or just a oil line. I wonder if he got the stickers off before they towed it to the dealer. LOL! It did look like it was fast against prepared sports cars. the Video car is a 914. I see a Mini S and a lot of RX7's too. I like my SS too but I think I would have got the Cobalt SS before I would try to run the HHR on the track. 3200 ponds and a lot of upper weight would have hurt performance vs low slung sports cars.

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com June 31, 2012 From the "we shot ourselves in the foot again" file; Automotive News reports that sales of the 2013 Malibu Eco have been abysmal. Only 7,000 Malibu Ecos have left dealers from March to June. That's a stark contrast to the 2012 Malibus which have sold almost 100,000 in the same time. "I can't really say a whole lot about how well the Eco has taken off because all of the focus has been on pushing the '12s'. There's cash on the hood" said Jim Stutzman, owner of Jim Stutzman Chevrolet-Cadillac in Winchester, Va. How much cash on the hood for the 2012 Malibu? Automotive News says it can be as high as $6000, mak…
