Exciting stuff... electric is becoming reality. "With its long-awaited Roadster now heading into production, Tesla is lifting its gaze to the horizon, which may not be all that distant. In a recent interview with CNET, Tesla co-founder Elon Musk revealed that the company will have the design for the anticipated Whitestar electric sedan finalized within this year's second quarter, and have a functional prototype ready before the end of the year. Musk also confirmed that the electric sedan, whose name could very well change (probably to something that sounds less like a Ford minivan) before it hits the market, will be priced in the $50-60k range, and be produced – likel…

Now, he has his own bodyshop with 3 fulltime employees, and he is specializing in restoration work, hot rods and muscle cars. He and his crew did the paint and bodywork on this flawless Nova, which has been appraised at $300k. Every body seam has been smoothed, the firewall and dash cut out and custom-fabricated, the drip rails have been molded in. Only the best of everything went into this Nova, which was completed 2 years ago. The owner is selling it, and he had nothing but praise for Dustin. I am proud of this k…

In this period, other than stuff that normally wears out (belts, hoses, brakes, batteries), I've only fixed the following, in this order: - exhaust donut connecting manifold to tailpipe - water pump - alternator - thermostat by-pass - 2 front wheel bearing assemblies (different times) - tie rod ends - 2 sensors: O2 and knock (different times) That's it. I'll have to wax it soon. The 100 degree temps have arrived. I still like it but am not that attached to it. But it has been reliable (so folks, don't knock the W-body too hard).…

I slept in until about 11:15 AM, mom and my cousin were off at church, dad was busy out in the garage, my brother was in the kitchen eating breakfast. I did my usual morning tasks (eat, brush teeth, pop my contacts in), when I decided to play some Game & Watch on my Game Boy. I’m sitting on the couch in the living room, when my dad tells me he’s going up to Home Depot for some stuff to fix our chimney with. She doesn't have much to spend - about $7K. She's always driven domestics until this Maxima, and she's liked the way this car drove, if not the reliability. She'd been contemplating an older Camry or Accord, but wasn't overly impressed with either one. She'd even considered a RAV4 or a CR-V, but doesn't necessarily need an SUV and prefers a car with a little more oomph. I'd like to recommend a Regal to her. I enjoy making up words, so there may be further installments, but we'll see how this one goes first. Original word: anachronism--something out of chronological order, that belongs in a different era. Example: Moses wearing a wristwatch in "The Ten Commandments." Enzora-fied word: anachromism--something that is of a color that would not be seen as logical. Example: Automakers choose bright/flashy colors for sporty cars, but due to cost-effectiveness, put it on all other models as well. Which creates...... Bam! Teal minivan! (Special thanks go out to Croc and razoredge for inspiring my thought on the meaning of the word root "chrom.")

But, life continues and, gradually, the feeling of loss lessens. Then, somewhere down the line, you find something or read or see or hear something that, instantaneously, reminds you of that person. Cave Home on eBay That would be pretty cool, no need for heat or air conditioning, tons of room, and, oh yeah, its a f@#king cave. How awesome would it be to live in a cave. I fell pretty bad for the family having to sell it.

  68. For me- #1. Betetta GTZ and Calais Quad Four Olds. You guys know of my love of small cars, these two are just awesome, and I think about them all the time. #2. 1964 Chevy Malibu SS....Everyone thinks of the 64 GTO, 64 SS Chevelle is a nice design, you see 65's but not 64's. #3. 49 Olds 88...larger motor, lighter body15 years before the GTO. Paced the Indy 500 that year. #4. Lumina Z34...came with a five speed, wore the understated look of the GM era well... #5. 1926 Pontiac...god clean first year design for Pontiac. Only seen a few in my life but they seem damn near perfect. Your lists....?

You know, just take every car in the slot to the dealer and say, "I'll trade this one for that one, and this one for that one"? I feel like doing that. I'm ready for something new!

I have been going on line looking for rental cars and when you get a decent price for a rental then they show you what the junk charges are. For example I pulled up a weekly rental on a full size car at $163.00 at the airport in Ft. Lauderdale, and lo and behold, there are about $75.00 worth of absolute bogus junk charges that they try adding on top of that. This is nonsense. Where can you look for a rental at an honest price without all the crap fees? I wil be looking to rent again on August 12-19th.

We're officially in the "holiday season" which means the suicide rate is going to go up drastically, so what better time to reminisce about the goals you set for yourself as a child or that you're going to fail to achieve in the future. (That sounded bitter didn't it?) Goals as a child (we'll define "child" as 15 and under because it seems like a nice cutoff) --Become an astronaut --Be a published author --Invade Iceland Sadly those are the only two goals I set for myself that I still remember. Goals as an adult --Be a published author (at least this time I have some completed material) --Get a degree in something (later decided to be journalism) --Be…

I've had my border collie for about 6 years now--we got her when she was about 6-12 months old from a shelter. She was extremely sick and severely underweight when we got her. Today, she's a healthy, happy, active girl that I can't imagine my life without. I've done a good deal of reading up about her breed, and most things fit. However, every now and then there's a question I have about a behavior she exhibits. Most recently, her behavior towards people diving in the pool. Anyone have border collie experience?

Anyone else notice how we tend to associate certain smells with people and or places/things? Sometimes, those smells that smell good to us ... don't smell good to others ... and vice versa. Sometimes, the smell is equally displeasing or pleasing to everyone. Earlier today (Saturday), my sister noted how she loves the smell of her scarf ... because it smells like the home she and her husband own. I'm not so sure I agree with her assessment, but it is home to her.... For me, I associate newly-cut grass smells with awesome summers at home while I was a kid. I associate the smell of smoke with many bad experiences. And, of course, I love the smell of cars ... old and, …

The driver of the Olds, Marc, was going with his wife to plan the funeral of his three grandchildren, when he was killed along with his wife Misty. A VERY emotional court room...kind of sad really. Oddly enough...the driver of the ford, (Nisa Kolovich) had just pulled out of the Taco bell drive through. A y…

The 360 degree LED television November 29, 2005 If you’re looking for a new centrepiece for your new entertaining area, the new 360 degree LED display from Dynascan offers exactly that – quite literally. Taiwanese-based Dynascan has been developing the 360 degree LED display for several years now and it is initially being used as an advertising medium in shopping centres and public areas, with an outdoor version just launched too. The first time you see one of the screens you’ll understand what the fuss is about – the quality, colour, contrast and definition is extraordinary and the screen is absolutely huge – the third generation of the new LED screens is being introd…

  88. So MSN hosted Car & Drivers Truck Rankings from Worst to Best and I find much the information as expected but have to question their #1 Truck. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/autos-trucks/every-full-size-truck-ranked-from-worst-to-first/ss-BBkumMw?ocid=UP94DHP#image=1 When they even state that the Porky F150 now is close to competing with the Silverado on weight, does an Aluminum body really qualify it as the #1 best truck in comparison to the Chevy or GMC? Read the Rankings and stated info, then state your own judgement and let the public decide if this is right!

Yeah uh huh so we closed early at work today. When I got home and came in from the garage downstairs, I heard a snapping and cracking, and it felt cool in the downstairs family room. Apparently, someone shot out my sliding door glass. Pieces were still slowly falling out onto the floor. Glass was thrown clear across the room, and there was a hole about 1.5 inches across where the projectile came through. The door was still locked, nothing is missing, so I don't believe it was an attempted break-in. Small game season is in right now... so I'm thinking it was some idiot with a gun... or it could have been kids being little a-holes, too. My homeowner's insurance compa…

This all goes back to my decision to sell the Fusion. I've decided that I want something that will be cheap, that I can use as a stop-gap between the Fusion and whatever good car I get to replace it. The Aurora I posted the other day had its price drop to $800, but I dont have that available to me in liquid form right now (unless I want to pay some $h! late) and its not really local, so it would have to wait until the end of the month, by then it will probably be sold. The Fairmont that I looked into back in September for $700 is now $495 and just flat-out quirky-cool. Tonight, I stumbled upon an 80's Caprice wagon with a rust-free, straight body and …

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3013016&page=1 Unbelievable. I wonder if they know that it was the Fuhrer himself who started VW, as the "people's car"? Ah, a car for the master race, no wonder VW's are so good. That and most Jewish people to this day will still not drive Mercedes and BMW's either, because these companies used slave laborers from the death camps. I don't even know how much of the above article is true, as it's widely known that the Germans stole Opel from GM during WWII, but were made to give it back after the war.
