On Tuesday, Sept. 12th of 2006, on Highway 402 just past Airport Road in Sarnia, Ontario, my Mercury's odometer rolled past 200,000 miles. And I caught it with my camera phone: The KPH view: When I first looked at the pictures, I thought it was a little odd that 200,000 miles would work out to such a round number in kilometers. So, I looked into it further. According to this website, 200K miles equals 321,868.80 kilometers. So, somewhere over the course of its 13 year life, my car has "lost" more than 1,800 kilometers, or more than 1,100 miles!

Our 03 Century was approaching the 200K mile mark and we were planning on replacing it during the summer of 09. However, with the deals available right now and it needing a coolant flush we decided to go for it and replace the Buick early. I picked up brochures on the LaCrosse, Impala and Malibu. Looking at the Impala next to a Malibu just made the Impala look old and outdated. After driving the Malibu 4cyl/6speed and 6cyl/6speed (both 2LT) we didn't even bother to go look at the LaCrosse. So our local dealer found a 2LT V6 in Imperial Blue with the Cocoa/Cashmere interior and picked it up for us. We took delivery just before they closed New Years Eve. Standar…

Well, I picked it up yesterday and the salesman seemed more pumped to hand me over this beast. He said it was the first one the dealership recieved so everyone was asking about the truck. Ive already used up about a 1/4 of a tank and have yet to really open it up to see how much power it has. . . but let me tell ya. . . the 5.3 I test drove has nothing on the 6.0. Im stilling in the process of finding new options that I never knew this truck had, like "curb view" option and such. It snowed about 2 inches last night so im going to put the AutoTrac thru it's paces to see how well it conects. So I should have some pics by tomorrow, I have a nice backdrop in…

But a good friend of mine called me up to say that he had a line on a '92 K-5 Blazer with a 5spd. manual - going cheap. Newer engine, inspected and legal, not rusty... I'm trying to forget that I know about it.

Since I've never told the whole story of my beloved S10 Blazer I thought it was about time I do so. Esp. with all the S10 hatin' going on around here as of late. :P It was a cool truck... gunmetal gray metallic, 4.3 liter V6, 2dr, loaded, 4x4 on the floor with 104,000 miles when I got it. If it had been an automatic I never would have looked twice at it. I was in the market for a truck, but I wanted a BEATER truck. I wanted someones scummy throwaway beater S10, the ONLY requirement was that it would be a 5-speed. My buddy John Morris was going to sell me his 280,000 mile 88 S-10 P/U. It was a 4-cylinder (iron duke) extra-cab longbed with a manual transmission. It h…

Since this did not work the first time, I will give it another shot. A little about the car, I bought it in April 2006 after the transmission finally went out on my handed down 94 explorer. It had 102,000 miles when I got it and I am the third owner, it currently has around 114,500 miles. Since today is my only day off this week, I decided it was due to be waxed and spent the morning cleaning it up. I tested out my new camera and the pics turned out pretty good. Hope you like them.

Well, I finally had enough of that noisy Metro. It ran great but after working on a loud flightline all night I wanted a smooth, comfortable, relatively quiet drive. And I wanted something fun to drive. So, Tammy and I decided to look at a couple of different cars and by accident we found my new daily driver. Its a 2000 Fixed Roof Coupe and has the wonderfully fun 6-speed. We paid $19,400 and I was driving to work for about a week. Now the reason I hate that Chevy dealership. The sales manager was a jerk when negotiating. He was actually yelling by the time it was over. We were honest up from with what we could afford and he acted like he thought we had a lot more t…

Well after seven winters in New England, the salt has taken its toll on the Prizm. Like nearly every other Prizm/Corolla up here the rear rocker panels and wheel wells have begun to rot out. Driver's side wheel well had developed a hole, passenger was bubbling, and the doglegs were both rotted . I've been putting off for a year or so, but it finally got to the point where it needed to be done before it got worse. Fortunately the rot is pretty superficial and the inner parts weren't rotted. I see a lot of people patching holes with everything from expanding foam and bondo to duct tape, but screw that noise. I brought it done to a good shop I know and had it fixed the ri…

We just acquired a 2005 BMW 325xi sedan with the purposes of turning it into a show car. We intend to feature all of the interior and exterior accessories we carry on it and we will be posting before, during and after photos of the entire makeover. We will also be making videos of each and posting them to our YouTube channel and our site. The project is expected to take between 6 months to a year to complete but so far the we have planned the following modifications and upgrades: - A complete Duraflex body kit (Retails for $1135.87): http://www.rvinyl.com/2005-BMW-325xi-Body-Kits/!/ED-106516.html -Compete vehicle wrap: We haven't decided between Matte Black or …

Great idea, this. Post what parts you're looking for so fellow members can keep an eye out at their local yards. If possible, it'd be helpful to be specific of what you need, where it's located, what year range (if applicable), and anything else you can think of to help your fellow scavenger.

Well the weather's getting nice and that means its project time. For my car the first and foremost project is getting a/c system revamped before summer. I want air conditioning in my car. That of course means the whole dash has to come out to replace the evaporator core. Not a job I'm looking forward to doing. Most likely I'm also going to replace the heater core while I'm there. Preventative maintenance. Not counting the heater core, it looks like this job will run $400-$500 in parts. Evaporator core, expansion valve, dryer, compressor, and probably the low pressure line. It'll basically be all-new when done. For summer I want to replace the rear struts, as well as th…

I posted FQ and CarDomain pages for it... http://fquick.com/garages/viewvehicle.php?id=2733 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2517184 CarDomain is laid out better, I haven't had time to figure out FQ's layout yet, but all the pictures are in both sites. The car had no problems making it 57 miles home. Everything works but the AC and the radio. Clock works, dome light works, so radio should work, I'll look into it later. The AC is known to be a locked up compressor, but I haven't checked to see if it's still R-12 or if it's been converted to R-134a. The biggest driveability problem with this car is that it doesn't like to start when cold. You have to hold the gas to t…

Chalk this one up to just being the right place at the right time--BIG time. Currently in my grandparent's stable, my grandmother has a '99 Intrigue GX 3.8 that they bought as a demo in '99 with 5k on it, and my grandfather has both a '94 Ford Aerostar extended XL that he bought as a demo in '95, and a '97 F-150 stripper truck. The Intrigue is for her general driving, as well as their runs to church as such, the truck for his daily outings, and the van is kept in the garage most all of the time, and only ever used for longer trips. The Aerostar is beyond immaculate, and in great colors even, and at 12+ years old, barely over 90k, but he really had been wanting somethin…

I just bought this 1990 Buick Reatta for $700 and I was planning to use it for parts. However it only took a new battery to get it working great so I decided I will drive it and restore it. The body is pretty good on the car but the interior is a mess. However, I have a whole new interior waiting for it. It is a fully loaded coupe with 16-way seats and the moonroof but the only option it doesn't have it the CD player.

A few weeks ago I submited a brief description of my car and some pics to the American Muscle Car Association wesite. By this morning when I checked my email I had almost forgoten all about it. I just signed up and introduced myself in the new members section, so I thought I would introduce my car as well. I purchased it in August of 2009 with 12,200 miles and today it has 55,350. I put a lot of miles on it traveling to college and back home to see my grandma the last two years (a 150 mile round trip). I've added a few modifications to it but have kept it largely stock since it is my only car and has been since I have owned it. Before the Mazda, I only had GM vehicles. I was intrigued by the sporty appeal and ease of ownership that a Mazda could offer me. And I got a sweet deal on this one as well. Despite the protests of my GM-loving family, I took the plunge …

Only a few of you might remember me, but those who do are likely to remember my Regal. Last February she suffered massive electrical failure and a replacement had to be had immediately. The list of cars we were considering... Dodge Charger Chevy Malibu Nissan Altima I could fit in all three (something of a concern if you remember me...lol), though barely for the Malibu... All new, considering my vehicle history, a warranty was definitely needed. The Altima was ok, but I was not a real fan of it... The answer was coming down to economics... The Charger looked good at the time, 36 month 0% with 1.9% after that, and at the time for the V6 we were looking at …

Click Here For The Full Gallery I finally uploaded a gallery of my work on the Golf. All photos are in mostly sequential order with captions to note the progress. It took me 10 months from when I bought it at the end of November to when I got it inspected at the start of this month. There was alot of down time in between the work I did. Total working time was about a month. Started out as a $500 purchase... I've spent of total of roughly $2,000. To be honest, $400 of that was lost to a scam unfortunately, and then another $400 can be accounted for with parts I bought and decided not to use. Overall, there's about $1,000- $1300 in the car itself. I haven't quite worked ou…

Yep, I finally got it. Here are the details: It had the Red Tag to mark down the sticker price to $18,726. I bought it under the 72 month time period for the 6.9% financing. I put $3000 down and have a $308 monthly payment. The car had 45 miles on it, then I took a test drive (this is the second time I've looked at this same car). When I picked her up today she had 50 miles on her. It's Rally Yellow with Ebony leather interior. I wanted the yellow interior also, but for the price I couldn't complain. Maybe one day I'll find some yellow suede and fill 'em in. It's got a sunroof and XM radio on it. I'm pretty sure that's all the options, but all I really wanted was a sun…

Planets aligned and picked these up, well they'll get delivered this week. Ariens. The mower has a SUBARU engine! The blower has fuel injection! No choke, no prime, sealed fuel system, no shut off. Can even use E10 in it if you want but i still plan to use only non oxygenated gas in it. Made in US.

About a month ago, I found an antique Chevy for sale on Craigslist, and, it was not far from my house. My wife and I went to look at it, and, ended up buying it. Its a 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster 2 door Town Sedan in really nice shape. Under its hood is the original 48 90 HP inline 216 CID 6. It's fully equipped for its time - has a radio, heater/defroster, and a clock - all original. We've had her at 5 local car shows so far, and, scored a couple of trophies. I'm enjoying wrenching on and driving a car that was built when I was 2 years old. Regards: Oldengineer

Well, I done did it. Again. I took delivery of my 2011 Ford Fiesta SE hatch this evening after work. Tuxedo Black Metallic with black and blue interior, 5 speed manual transmission. A sweet-driving little pup for sure, quiet and solid. I got a special treat installed, a blue leather-wrapped shift knob from Ford Accessories to match the blue streaks in the upholstery. Sets it off nicely. I really needed to loosen the strings of some of my debt. The house stays in my possession, so the next most expensive proposition is the truck. I chose to let it go, and I am saving over $2000 per year in payments and insurance alone... plus, I owed over $18k on the truck, I shav…

Well I was in desperate need of a new car or truck so after much test driving and nearly passing out from insurance quotes I decided on a 2007 black Aura XE. The car was a steal at $260/month with nothing down, then just when things where going good I was in an accident. I was on my way to work when the woman in front of me slams on her brakes for an ambulance sitting in crosswalk of the intersection with his lights and sirens on. I was looking for the ambulance and didn't see her stopped by the time I saw her it was to late. I was only going about 10 when I hit her but I did $6,000 in damage to my car, luckily I didn't get a ticket because we where stopping for an emer…

Yeah,s o I got a new cell phone yesterday, since my old piece of crap was dying. It's nothing overly fancy, a Virgin Mobile Cyclops, but it has a 1.3 megapixel camera, which for the price of $30 is unbeatable...most the the prepay phones have like .3 megapixels and cost closer to $100. As I was heading to work this morning I decided to try out the camera and take a photo of my car,a nd inadvertantly got the other 2 cars in the photo too,s o besides the Merc, which is in the driveway, it's a pic of the fleet, so what the hell, I felt like sharing. You can see one of the Shadow's new doors too. I still want to get a Cannon S5 IS though

Mom just picked up her Enclave and it was parked next to my wagon here at work. I could not resist snapping a photo of them side by side. It is amazing how far cars have come in a relatively short amount of time. The sfaety, economy, comfort, convenience...it is all LIGHT YEARS ahead of what was on the roads 51 years ago! I cannot imagine what cars will be like in another 50 years! What further amazed me is the length of the two cars - it is almost a dead heat between the two of them!

$800 1997 Saturn SW2 ~200k on body semi-rebuilt engine (new head, lower end inspected & in good condition) interior needs work body is good some performance parts seller included all his s-series specific parts, which somewhat fill both the wagon and the suburban (not crammed full, but all floor space is taken up), including a couple full sets of wheels and some nearly brand new studded snow tires, and a ton of other stuff. Still deciding if I'm going to fix & flip the car, or fix it up & do up some vinyls for my business (web design, computer repair, etc).

Went the next county over to check out cars for mom today. I helped her wash up her Kia Forte because she wanted to see what it was worth. She ended up signing paperwork on a 2021 Kia Soul LX in Mars Orange with gray and black interior. For about $500 more MSRP v. a Hyundai Venue SE, she got a bigger, nicer car overall, and it's what she really wanted. She's tickled. I drove it back from the dealership, it's a nice driving little car. And since cost was of paramount concern, the fact that her lease payments are $2.00 LESS per month than her unloved Forte, it makes me feel better that she can comfortably afford it.

Hey everybody, as many of you know I haven't been online in quite a long time as life sometimes takes its toll. I have now gotten rid of my T-Type, car was rotted so I kept all specific T-Type parts. Now last October, the Intake Manifold gasket went on my 88 Reatta and the car spun a main bearing. Perfect opportunity for my Supercharged swap. The donor motor is from a 95 Bonneville SSEi and the motor had 143k kms on it, I stripped it down to freshen the motor up either way but the lower mileage was a bonus. The supercharger was a rebuilt with maybe 30k kms on it and it is perfect. I have been slowly chipping away at this project since January and finally the motor/transmi…

My biological father recently moved back to Houston, and promptly totalled a nice 2005 Corolla. In looking for a replacement vehicle, the criteria for the new car was simple: Must be new, automatic, ABS, no more than $16,500, and must be a 4 door sedan - no hatchbacks. His experience with GM and Chrysler products...in the the 1980s and 1990s..meant that those cars were NOT allowed on the shopping list. Dad's was at first fixated on looking at a 2009 Corolla or Yaris. After much pleading, I managed to get the Aveo, Cobalt, and Focus on the consideration list. But those cars are hard to find with ABS. The only Aveos with ABS had other features which jacked the price…

Still working, little by little, and dollar by dollar, to update and upgrade my near perfect '95 Caddy Fleetwood as time goes by. It wasn't even really in "the budget" (but then again, what is?!), but I had been going back and fourth for a few months on new wheel & tire options. There was NOTHING wrong with the OEM wheels and Michelins it had, but the look could stand to ratchet up a bit. Thought aftermarket, thought chrome stocks, and just kept coming back to the OEM Impala SS wheels. A very popular upgrade choice for a lot of B & D bodies, since they're 1) GM OEM, 2) perfect offset and fitment, and 3) look great. So, doing my usual net surfing, found an ad …

A common source of kvetching from my brother since he began driving the Regal was that its OEM CD/Cassette stereo doesn't have an AUX jack for iPod purposes. Double-DIN sized head units that look like they fit with the car are more expensive and theft magnets. They also would sacrifice the functionality of the redundant steering wheel controls. Casette and FM modulators always seem to leave something in the audio quality department as well. Then, not too long ago, I was watching Saabkyle04 on YouTube review his new 1995 Roadmaster Limited and I noticed he managed to get his hands on a Buick Monsoon Audio stereo that had been refurbished and in this process had an AUX ja…

So as you guys may recall the T&C came to use in a bit of a mass. The bumper had caved in, which included the cover and the the actual bumper, it also bent some of the front end so the headlight housing/grill don't all fit quite right anymore. At the time it looked pretty bad, and it was further compounded by lack of avaialble parts. Eventually after hunting through 6 junlkyards I found a downer, a blue Caravan. Last week I sanded and painted the bumper I got white with some automotive spray paint and primer I got from teh parts store. Today I, along with some help from my brother put it all back together, Have a look. It's very rewardi…

6/5/06 update_______________________________ OK, so I got the car cleaned up this past weekend while at my buddy's house. Here's a couple new pics and one of his car. __________________________________________ Well, here are some pics from the weekend. Managed to get the car cleaned up a bit, even though I was out of town. The rest of the pics may come next weekend after a more thorough cleaning. And one to amuse Josh... the new background on my Sprint phone ]

No, I didnt get one. My mom did on Tuesday. I will post pictures once I get them. It has a 6 cd changer, moonroof, 1 year on star, 3 months XM sat radio. Sad thing is my mom won't know how to use either haha. This is a new color for 2006 as I've never seen any like it before. Very, very sharp truck! Please, no questions about the Solstice.

Last time I came around here, I was driving a 2005 Grand Prix. In Oct 2011, I got a new job which forced me to relocate. I moved from Central New York to my new job site in Maryland, while -- due to an unfortunate technicality -- my wife and children stayed behind. Since I would need a car of my own to get around, my parents and sister were gracious enough to let me "borrow" her 1997 Saturn SL to get around in. I found out in Nov/Dec 2011 that we were expecting a third child. The wife and I agreed that the back seat of the GP wasn't big enough for 3 car seats, so in March 2012 we traded the car for a minivan -- a 2009 Volkswagen Routan. I still have to updat…

I still have the Lesabre T-Type and my parents still have their Expediton and Tahoe. So this car is my personal car #2. I am still sticking with GM and it is still a Buick. I don't have it just yet but I am taking delivery of it this Saturday. What is it? I am buying a 1988 Buick ______. It was a deal I couldn't turn down and I love the car even though it is front wheel drive still. It has higher mileage, 156k miles but is still running strong. It has one rust spot which is quite huge but an easy fix. The car's interior is mint except for the center console in which the leather needs to be reupholstered. The headliner on the sunroof panel needs to be done as well but thos…

This past weekend my wife found a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice with the 9C1 pkg for sale. It has 133k miles and in fairly decent condition. At only $2,000 we couldn't pass it up. The new one is equipped just like the old but has tinted windows and working AC to make our daughters willing to drive in it. Oh yeah, and it's missing the cage and bars on the windows. Any ideas on what I can do to this one? For those that don't know; we've done the following to the previous ones; 1. Put 1 gallon of water for 10 gallons of fuel (Roach I only) 2. Jumped both of them multiple times 3. Leveled gravel (Roach I) 4. Jumped on the hood, roof & trunk (frequently) 5. P…

Well, here are some pics of my latest mods... Basically, I put on black projectors a few weeks ago, painted the SS badges on the side, did a $h!ty job painting the front bowtie, cut the stock antenna down, and today I got a dual outlet exhaust installed. Projectors and painted badges: Exhaust cut-out (not perfect, but I still like it): How she looked stock: How she looks today: And a quick video of how she sounds... idle and rev: Video doesn't really do it justice, as expected. It's quieter and a throatier than perceived through my camera. It's not very loud at idle and still not extremely loud at all at WOT, but I ac…

Optioned with towing pack (including coolers and Class IV receiver), plus skid plate pack. Dropped it off to have brand new tires fitted before we'd even gotten it home. Had persistent overnight phantom battery drain for the first 6 weeks until we identified the problem as a damaged 6 stack CD player that was trying to load and eject jammed CDs all night PLUS a worn out ignition lock that allowed the key to be removed in the "Acc" position. First of all----glad to see Cheers and Gears back! Best car forum! Heres my 06 2.4L SS coupe. The colour is granite blue and you can't get that on US SS Cobalts. My first new car too! No pricey options---just the way I would have ordered it. Keeps the payments lower! Used 1500 GM pionts and $1000 from Car Heaven (GM sponsored program to get old cars off the road) And of course the 5 speed. The 2.4L is a very impressive engine. Smooth with all right right sounds. Makes very good low end torque. Just got over 800kms on it and have been babying it. Just starting to open her up a bit now. The build qaulity and interior are great. And the the 5 speed is the BEST…

Ratillac for now, anyways, but hopefully not forever. For whatever reason my girlfriend and parents really love this car (you should have seen some of the looks most of my past beaters have gotten!) and that alone is enough for me to make it nice as time goes on. Maybe I can convince one of them can "babysit" it for me if I find myself in need of space for a new toy a few years down the road :AH-HA_wink: So as you all probably know by now, I picked up a 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille a few weeks ago for the princely sum of $600 off of two fruity yuppie brothers in southern New Hampshire: The dorks at the front and rear of the car are them. The dork in the middle wear…

So I've got the Buick with its rebuilt 307 running beautifully, happy to have it back on the road. Now there is a '93 Caprice wagon with an LT1 on Craigslist for $600. No title, being sold as a parts car. I may go ahead and call the guy, but I'm thinking the LT1 transplant is more work than I want to do at the time.

Well, TAmmy and I were selling our 99 Z/28 because I was thinking about another classic car and I wasn't using the 99 as a daily driver, which is why we bought it. We found this... They gave us $7000 for our 99 which had a lot of miles on it and we argued them down to $14500 for the 71. As soon as I get a nice day around here that I don't have to work i will get some better pics of this one. Hmmm, looks like my website needs updating, AGAIN.

Some brief history first: My buddy & I used to cruise all over central NJ & eastern PA looking for vintage iron. We were both Pontiac men, but always had an eye for other American iron (Cadillac, Buick, MoPar, independants). When we rolled up on this '59 Buick in Doylestown PA... ...I remember saying 'If it's an Invicta, it's mine'... Series 4600 Invictas used the smaller 123" wheelbase LeSabre chassis with the big car Electra engine; the 'Wildcat' 401 CI. This was the 'performance' series in Buick's catalog, preceded by the '54-58 Century and followed by the '62-70 Wildcats. Always into performance, the Invicta was the most exclusive B-…

As most of you know, I'm preparing to put my '95 two-door Tahoe up for sale. I've been steadily knocking little nitpicky things about it off of my list. Today I ordered some clips to properly re-mount the door panels I've had off, and also priced out the parts to make the door hinges right again. I've already rebuilt the top end of the engine, replace the radiator, the front calipers, the power steering pump, and lots of other stuff. In addition, I located and installed new GM front seats, and a stock stereo system that had been on a shelf since nearly new. The exhaust system is new from front to back (including the Cat, O2 sensor, and exhaust manifold gaskets. I've…

So the Grand Marquis' transmission has started being temperamental about whether or not it wants to go into 1st gear. As it so happens my neighbor has a regular customer who has several Crown Vics, including a `93 Interceptor he was planning to scrap. It sat for 10 years and the engine seized, but its only got 83k and the transmission is good. So he bought it off the guy for scrap value, took out the transmission and fuel sender, and told me to have at it and take whatever else I wanted, then it would be loaded full of scrap and sent on its way. We briefly contemplated putting the GM's engine in it, but it really isn't in any better shape, and a car sitting for 10 years…

I'd like to take in some suggestions on how to go ELECTRIC, on a project car. Here's what I am dying to know... 1. A basic Idea of HOW. 2. What to make my Electric car out of, I have seen Saturns converted.. What would you do? So far I am thinking that I should buy a ready-made conversion kit, and build it into a 2-dr cavalier. The car can be dressed up pretty well, and if it is an EcoTec powered car, I should be able to get some of the funds to do the swap from selling the powertrain. Any ideas of sites I could go to, I need to know more about what to do and how. Thanks in advance for your tips!

Me and the wife just picked up our brand new 2006 Ford Escape XLT to replace her aging 1997 F-150. Redfire Metallic, gorgeous color, with the 3.0L V6 and 4WD. 6-CD disc changer, power everything, and they're having a moonroof installed next week. We got it for just over $24,000 with my discount through CompUSA. And with 0% financing for 60 months our payments are only $407 a month!

Well, it has finally happened: I'm getting rid of the Cobalt. I can't take the monthly payments anymore while I'm in school, and this seemed like a good alternative... I took a 7 hour round trip over to the west side of Michigan yesterday and picked up a 2004 Dodge Neon R/T. It's got 78,xxx miles on the clock, manual transmission, leather interior, power sunroof, and is Blaze Red Pearlcoat. Here’s my initial review of the car… Unfortunately, on its first trip it only averaged 30.4 MPG (5.1 MPG less than my sister's automatic '08 Pontiac G5 that was the companion car on the trip) and wasn’t as peppy as I had thought it’d be. Given, this was with fuel injector cleaner i…

In terms of my relatively short time (compared to seasoned veterans like Camino and balthazar) buying, selling, trading, hunting down, working on, and enjoying older vehicles, it has been my experience thusfar that sometimes the best and most interesting things of all are not found; they find you. Such is the case with my current project car: a 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado coupe. This is so because at the time at which I came to own the car (October 2006), I was not at all "in the market" for a giant two-door American land yacht to cruise around in, or for any other car for that matter. A 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme I had bought on a whim the previous fall and a…

This past Monday I bought a 2007 Silverado 1500 2WD Extended cab. Dark blue/light grey interrior. So far I love it. I am getting used to the way it drives since my '05 had the "Smooth Ride Suspension" on it and this one does not. It also sits higher and I feel like I sit higher in the seat as well. This is also my first vehicle with On Star. I'll post some pics once I take some.
