The current Chevrolet Equinox is nearing the end of its lifecycle and we have been wondering when we'll be seeing any information about it. Thanks to a spy photographer, we have some photos to show what Chevrolet has in store. The most apparent thing we can tell the photos is the new model is smaller than the outgoing model. This confirms a report back from January that Chevrolet will be moving the Equinox downmarket to compete better with compact crossovers. Can anything bigger than a V8 be fit into the Corvette platform? I was thinking an XLR or Corvette beyond the Blue Devil, with something like a V12 or V16.

Whenever a new set of spy shots come out, the photographer tends to have an idea of the vehicle in question. But that isn't the case with this set of spy shots. The vehicle in question is a Chevrolet Crossover that was driving nearby General Motors' headquarters. I am interested to know if the Volt design had been the Cruze, would you consider it more interesting, or functional, or desirable than the Cruze? I am not at all bringing the hybrid into the question. If the Cruze had arrived with the Volt's styling (with obviously more interior space returned because of no battery) would the Cruze seemed more attractive? I have to admit. I need a Chevrolet dealer or someone else associated with the Impala ordering program to answer this question. I found an '06 Impala SS that I wanted to buy this weekend, during the zero percent financing program. It had the white exterior that I want, and the neutral leather interior with the woodgrain dash inserts, but it also had an ebony (black) dash top, steering column and steering wheel, and upper door panels. Shouldn't the neutral Impala SS interior have the slightly darker tan color on the upper dash, steering column and wheel, and tops of the door panels? Latest Motor Trend has article comparing the HHR, Mazda 3s, Dodge Caliber and Toyota Matrix. They placed the Mazda first, now I will say that all in all the Mazda is a pretty nice overall vehicle. however I was very disappointed to see the place the Matrix 2nd and the HHR 3rd. After all, isn't the Vibe GM's worst vehicle as far as quality goes? Another class-action lawsuit involving a diesel vehicle has been filed this week, but it doesn't deal with Volkswagen. The Detroit News reports that class-action lawsuit has been filed against General Motors this week alleging the company used illegal software on the Chevrolet Cruze diesel to allow it to pass emission tests in the lab, while polluting more in the outside world. Also, the suit alleges the company falsely and marketed its Cruze Diesel as a “clean vehicle.” The suit, filed by the Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro law firm in Seattle says the six plaintiffs it is representing in this suit have tested their vehicles with a portable emissions measurement system. …

What's the possibility of this happening? Obviously GM sees a market for a wagon here in the US -- they're about to release the CTS Wagon and seemed to be seriously considering the G8 Wagon. Maybe they didn't think a Wagon would bode well with Pontiac's performance image (despite some of their other vehicles not fitting it well)? Could we see an Impala Maxx or Wagon variant? I don't see why not. Then again, there's got to be some reason for why Chrysler is canceling the Magnum... and maybe GM looked into that. That's also possible.

General Motors Europe presents its new compact car the Chevrolet Cruze during a world premiere at Pavillon Dauphine in Paris, Wednesday in preview of the 2008 Paris Car show. The Cruze, will be assembled in Lordstown, OH in 2010 for the North American market, it is the first model built on the compact-car architecture designed and engineered by GM's European operations. Based in Russelsheim, Germany, GM Europe also is developing the architecture for all of GM's mid-size cars.

Since the '07 Impala had no styling changes whatever from the'06, does anyone know what changes might be in store for the '08 model? Specifically: Any revisions at all to either the front end clip, or the trunk/taillight design? I could see that they might want to change the front end clip a bit, to make it more in synch with the bigger grille on the '08 Malibu. And I really wish they would so SOMETHING with the taillights; they are so non-descript so as to be almost indistinguishable from just about every new sedan (Accord, Five Hundred, Montego, G6. etc., etc.). It's being brought in from another dealer as our local one (Jack Evans Chevy Cadillac) didn't have the color we wanted in stock. I got to take a short drive in a Hydrogen Fuel cell Equinox Saturday. This was my first chance to try a electric GM product. While it was powered by a Hydrogen electric fuel cell it gave me some idea of what to expect of acceleration of the electric drivetrain that is not the same but similar in many respects to the Volt. The torqe is like right now. I spun the tires into the traction control and it did not stop till I lifted down the track. It had plenty of pep. It was dead quiet accept for a little electric motor noise that a radio would cover easy. The dash has a meter to show electric use vs a tach. Anyone else find it odd that the Volt was missing from the Chicago Auto Show? They had an entire section in the Chevy display promoting green vehicles, but leave out their trump card?! They also left the hy-wire at home, which I still think is the ultimate future of cars.

Last weekend while at the Purdue vs. Michigan State football game, my buddy noticed a 2007 Tahoe passing by us in the parking lot. We were really surprised to see one since production hasn't even started. We watched to see where it parked so we could check it out on the walk up to the stadium. Another vehicle has been revealed earlier than expected. This time, it is the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt which was caught during a photo shoot. The styling for the production model retains the basic shape of the concept. Up front is the clip from Volt and the rear end reminds us of the BMW i3. As we reported in a previous Bolt spying piece, the interior will look similar to the Volt's. But we think the Bolt will have a larger touchscreen. the most recent Motor trend just arrived in my mail box. There is an interesting article about the 5th Generation Camaro Convertable. It stated that GM has greenlighted the rag top. We're now into the third week of the strike at GM's CAMI Assembly in Ontario and neither side appears to be budging. There are rising concerns that GM could be running out of the stockpile of the Chevrolet Equinox. GM's second-best selling nameplate. Making my daily rounds to every GM site I noticed that Chevy has something new and well pretty cool if you ask me called Chevy Nation. It is a computer generated town with new and old Chevy's cruising around like '64 Impala's to a new HHR. The cool part is you can into a chop-shop and view videos and do other interactive stuff in 2 other areas currently with a few more on the way. Alright, I'm almost convinced I'm going to buy a suburban.
