What do you see as unique about North America as a place to market cars? Why do some cars, which sell well elsewhere, like the Jag F type, rot on dealer lots here? And why do we sell cars like the KIA Soul like candy to a pedophile?

All of these famous people are just dying left and right. Darren McGavin, Dennis Weaver, Don Knotts, Kirby Puckett yesterday and I've just recently heard Dana Reeve passed on last night. Puckett and Reeve weren't exactly what you'd consider old, either. What is going on??

from melodicrock.com This is ridiculous - they can't just go into the studio together and jam. Everything has to involve lawyers, contracts, and paperwork. They're a joke that's been running for 11 years....remember when they used to be such a tight, yet carefree party band (with both Dave and Sammy)? You have to feel sorry for their fans, they've been teased way too many times.

Well I thought I woud start this thread to find out more about other areas people live in. I myself live in an area called Hockessin Delaware. When I moved here 15 years ago there were about 5,000 people living here, now we have about 12,000 people living here. I am attaching this link so you can find out more about where I live. I like to visit other places so tell me about where you live, are you in a town or city? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hockessin,_Delaware As you can see it's not a major city, in fact it's not even a town, it's just suburbia. Far enough away from the major cities, but close enough to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Washington, DC, and …

With the recent gas prices spiralling have been doing a non scientific experiment to find out how much driving habits can change the fuel economy. Reading those news about people getting 50 mpg in a regular four banger Accord makes you think how do people claim this surreal number. Is it true or it is a banal trick played by the import humpers. Websites like these Gas Savers make me try to validate this claim. So here goes my experiment. I will just give the data, you folks decide what to claim from it. The Precursors: 1. I keep a pretty close if not up to the decimal tab on my fuel economy numbers. For the previous miles, before the experiment, my three cars have aver…

So... what's your biggest regret? The ones that are 'shareable' (I think I made up a new word, lol) Mine is confiding something private to someone that was not trustworthy and later used what I had said to hurt someone else.

What is your car music guilty pleasure? We all have our car music, the stuff that really gets us into the drive. But what is the car music that you love that you... really wouldn't admit to? The stuff that doesn't fit your personality or your car's personality..... This idea came to me as I was driving to work this morning in the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco wearing french cuffs, cufflinks, and a pink "Cancer Sucks" bracelet in support of a family member while enjoying.... Marylin Manson - Lest We Forget. Great music for an urban morning commute and for those of you who know me well enough... completely outside of my personality. So what is your car music guilty pleasur…

The topic of this post is exactly what the topic says, whats your next whip going to be? I bought an 06 malibu SS sedan in may this year and have enjoyed it thus far but Im ready to make the jump to entry luxury next time around. I just finished paying off my loan on the By so I plan on keeping it till summer-fall 08 and then I want to get a loaded 3.6 DI next generation CTS. I considered getting a CTS this past summer but decided that I didnt want to spend that much on a car that is this lat in its product cycle and has been overshadowed recently by the new imports. (I love the current CTS but its past its competitive prime since its already 5 year old) These are…

Hey everyone. At kinda the mid point of teh auto show season I was wondering if anyone made any revisions to their plans for near future (or more distant for that matter) car purchases. I had said I wanted to get the new CTS this coming fall. Well, scratch that. I love the new CTS. I think its great. But While I could easily afford a lightly optioned one with the base 3.6 at around 35k there is now way I can save up the money to buy a loaded 3.6 DI like I want without taking on payments which is a big no no for me as Ill be heading back to school full time next fall. The Pontiac G8 was made for me it seams. Loaded it will likley come in at less than 35k. IT…

Over the past several days I've been thinking of intrigued's new 2012 Mustang GT Premium response in the "Any changes to your "automotive family" soon?" thread and how there is not a vehicle I currently drool over that I could afford now or next year (trust me, I drool over the 2011 GMC Sierra Denali plenty, just cannot afford a new one now or in the near future). I remember in the late '80s through the mid part of this decade always lusting over something attainable. I guess the prices today, the lack of funds and credit on my end, just make it impossible for me to lust over anything much. However, there is something I wish I could have, if offered here in the states,…

About exactly like the title says. What new vehicles are you anxiously awaiting a read about?? I know I'm really excited to read about a few vehicle.. On the obvious side, GT350/R. Then on the less obvious side is the new Tacoma. Nissan Titan XD and Continental. The new Titan with a Cummins 5.0..That thing has potential to really shake up the half ton segment. By no means do I think it'll dethrone the D3 but I think it will make great competition and hopefully one of the D3 will make something competitive to it. I believe it is rated 350hp and 550tq. Not too long ago that was the big diesel numbers. Now it's a "mid sized" diesel. The Continental makes me r…

As you guys know, the ROPOS dropped reverse in the trans before the big storm (the second one), and I had to have someone else come in to plow. Well, I'm very grateful that the guy showed-up and plowed several times - but his skills were not up to the standard that those that live on this place have come to expect. As a result, the lane remains a 4X4-only zone at this point. I made it a point to warn my employer's son and daughter-in-law not to use their FWD Camry Hybrid until I had a chance to get my truck back and tidy things up. So, I go out for coffee this morning and what so I find when I return? You guessed it, the stupid Camry off the edge of the lane and blocki…

In your opinion, what features/characteristics (measurable) should all vehicles from each brand have or at least always have as an option? Feel free to distinguish between trucks/cars, but otherwise it should be the same across the whole brand. A few of my opinions as Examples: Cadillac: HID projector headlights, LED signal lights all around, offer nav (maybe should be standard) Buick: LED tail lights, fog lights, offer nav Also feel free to do this in reverse, like: Nav: Cadillac (standard), Buick (always available option), GMC (always available option) So, what do you think? Let's stick to the remaining brands for simplicity.

BTW, it should look good between our two beasts, LOL.

My parents bought a brand new 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ new; I was 8 y-o at the time. I essentially grew up with this car, and learned how to drive on it. May of 1993 my mom traded it in and it was gone forever (I did see it on two separate occasions in 1994). Ever since then, I've had a special place in my heart for these unloved GPs, and vowed one day to own one (even though it was never really mine, I treated it like it was my own before I bought my first car, a '78 Camaro LT, in 1992). Over the years I'd spot one for sale or just sitting alone, but all have needed work. Last Sunday I was out cruising around looking at dealer inventories and I spotted this: …

I saw a Yukon Hybrid out on a dealer lot today (sorry, no pics) but the damned thing had 8 hybrid badges. One on each front fender, on on each c-pillar, the big-ass graphic on the bottom of the doors (god I hate that, worse than the "IROC" on 3rd gen Camaros) then one on the tailgate and another on the back window. Jesus, Toyota may run a lot of "we're green" tv ads, but the f@#king Prius on has one hybrid badge.

We were traveling on the interstate over the weekend and a big, ugly-@ssed van came up behind us in a major hurry (we were only doing about 70 at the time, in the right lane). In the mirror, the front end looked like a Honda Element with a serious pituitary gland issue. It then zoomed by in the far left lane and I wasn't able to get a look at any emblems. It *might* have been a Nissan NV, but it was far uglier and more awkward-looking than any NV I'd seen before. P.S. I STILL haven't seen a new Dodge Dart under its own power.

Well, I’ve had a busy last few weeks and you’ve probably noticed I haven’t been posting new news or regular commentary around here. Let’s get to the big news first. As of May 22nd, 2012 I am officially a Journalism major with an undetermined minor concentration. That means, in due time, all of the Moorish creases in my writing will be ironed out and the burrs filed down. It also means I’ll be an intern at some newspaper or magazine, possibly even a television station within two years time — that’s a requirement to graduate. It’s been unnecessarily difficult getting to this point and it’s required a lot of sacrifice, so hopefully it’ll be worth it. Also, a few days pri…

With me looking to turf my Dahlia Blue 1997 Cavalier, and am looking to buy something new this fall... I've short listed it to a few choices, most with the 3.1L V6 as it is relatively efficient, and I need some advice to prioritize my list before I talk to my used car guy. I'm currently considering: 1997-2001 Buick Century 1995-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (3.1L) 1995-1999 Chevrolet Lumina (3.1L) 1995-1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (3.1L) 1997-2001 Pontiac Grand Prix (3.1L) 1994-1995 Pontiac Trans Sport 3.8L/Chevrolet Lumina Minivan 3.8L (The Dustbusters) Now, my gut is telling me that the best choice is the Century because of the JD Power Awards for quality and de…

Okay, here's what I need/want, followed by the reasons: I need a quiet, comfortable ride. After a loud day with students, I really enjoy a bit of solitude in my car. I love road trips and will be commuting a bit, so comfort is necessary. I'm tall, so leg room needs to be adequate in the front seat. I don't need the most-intense stereo, but quality of the sound is important. I feel any stereo in the Buick, Chevy or Saturn would meet my needs, and the Accord's stereo I've heard and it's sufficient for my needs. 2007 LaCrosse CXL: The LaCrosse would allow me to have a quiet, smooth ride, conservative looks and a nice build quality. The engine and tranny would be …

Hey everyone, Just a quick question for you: If you had to think of the best name to describe people who like to modify and customize their cars and trucks what would it be? Tuners? Modders? Restylers? Or something else? I know this sounds like a joke (and I'm actually waiting to see the creativity of some of our forum members) but I have been giving this a lot of thought. Tuners make me immediately think of imports only, restylers make me think immediately of professionals and modders bring to mind something else entirely. SO, what do you call people who like to play with their cars?

I've listed it twice on ebay now and gotten lots of watchers, one fool that keeps insisting that it had to have come from the factory with leather seats and chrome wheels and he demands that I put them "back in/on". I'm thinking maybe I won't re-list it again if it doesn't go this time. Maybe I'll just polish it up, put it up on jackstands, cover it , and try to forget I own it for a few years.

Okay, so here's what happened today. During one of my preps, this woman brought up how much she HATED her car and would never buy another American car as long as she lived. She has a 2001 Alero, and has had nothing but problems (power window motors burning out of the rarely used back windows, power door locks burning out, radio malfunctions, etc.) The topic in the conference room just became what to buy, what would you get, blah blah blah. This is basically what the poll came out to just by hearing people's responses: What they said, "Most reliable to least reliable" 1) Japanese cars 2) German cars 3) Korean cars 4) American cars So, I interjected…

Discussing with some friends lately new vehicles. Many are sticking to the type of vehicle that they currently have now (CUVs, pickups, sedans, etc). So we got on the topic of what vehicle would interest you that is outside of your norm but would be an appropriate daily driver to replace the type of vehicle that you currently own. This is not a "what ultimate vehicle would you choose if money were no issue" scenario. It's a scenario where you don't get the vehicle you prefer; for me that means no pickup or SUV. So I'll start this off. If I were buying a vehicle today outside of a pickup or SUV, I would choose: 1) 2014 Chevrolet Impala - I'm smitten by this new Impa…

What we need now is one of these. Why it didn't go into production, I have no idea. It should have. Recently, at a open house at the GM Heritage Center, this little puppy showed up, fresh from a rebuild. Twin cam Cosworth engine, much like an early ecotech. 5 speed, bad ass look I think...cowl hood. F- body styling, some crappy vega parts, but sort of an early kind of Solstice/Sky feel to it...pics don't do it justice! This design was a result of the energy CrIsiS in the 70s, but the style of this unit speaks to me. Needs cool wheels and tires but otherwise excellent! In all the talk about GM restructuring and the possibility of bankruptcy, nobody has come up with a solution to GM's true problem; the American public general perception of the company and its products. What do you think it would take for people to believe in GM again? Or more importantly, what do you think it would take to get Americans to believe in other Americans again?

C&D just wrapped up another instrumented test, this time on the A8L. The A8L 4.0T Sport, to be exact. As it mentions in the article, the A8 sits in an interesting spot in the marketplace. AWD only, but still much cheaper than some rivals, it nevertheless has compelling performance and luxury. Here's the test for those interested- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-audi-a8l-40t-sport-test-review As always, you will have from 10% below base price to 10% over as-tested price to spend on a similar-ish new vehicle. Base price- $91,425. As-tested- $96,175. Rules- 1)Must be a NEW, on-sale production vehicle. 2)Must be a similar vehicle- i…

Awww yeah, we're getting practical in here this go 'round. The fine gents over at C&D just got their hands on the Dodge Journey V6 AWD. Now, you might not have known they still built this thing. Hell, you could be forgiven for not being aware of, or fine tuning out, it's existence in the first place. But a hell of a lot of buyers find some reason to buy this thing, so let's see what you guys will decide to buy with your (imaginary) dollars. Here's the test- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-dodge-journey-v-6-awd-test-review Base price is $27,590. As-tested it rang in at (hold your laughter) $34,660. So you must spend at least $24,630, but no mor…

So our newest 'WWYBI' installment comes courtesy of C&D once again, with their test of the updated 2016 GS350 F Sport. Here is the review for those interested- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-lexus-gs350-f-sport-test-review As always, you have a 10% range on either side of the test car to spend on a fairly similar car. In this case, we'll call it a sport or luxury sedan of some sort. As always, your selection must be a new and current MY car on sale now. Base price here is $55,700. As tested was $61,690. Therefore, you must spend no less than $50,130. You also cannot spend more than $67,680. That opens a lot of options up, and I look forward to seeing…

First numbers test I believe I've seen on the new XF. The old one was pretty enough, but never really captivated me. There's something about this new one I really like. C&D has plenty of good things to say about it, as well. Here's the review for those interested- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-jaguar-xf-35t-r-sport-test-review. As always, you have from 10% under the base price, up to 10% over the as-tested price to spend on a car in roughly the same genre. Going up or down a size is allowed, but no 2-seat sports coupes or SUV's, obviously. Base price was $61,645. As-tested was $74,785. Price range allotted- $55,480-82,265. You must spen…

Important note- I have revised the rules of this thread, so pay close attention. C&D makes these threads super easy, so with them just having wrapped up an instrumented test on a new 2016 Grand Cherokee V6 Summit, it'll be the standard here. Here is the review- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-jeep-grand-cherokee-v-6-test-review Due to (merited) complaints from members regarding the sometimes huge price ranges, I have decided to try a different set this time. You will only have range between base and as-tested price to play with. And of course, it will have to be a new CUV/SUV of some sort. Base price- $33,290 As-tested price- $54,2…

C&D is just making these too easy, and this one I think is a lot of fun. They just did a test of the Evo Final Edition, the send off for the legendary Evo. Here's the story- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2015-mitsubishi-lancer-evolution-final-edition-test-review- for those interested. Base price and as-tested were the same at $38,805. So, as always, you have within 10% of that price in either direction to play with. You MUST spend at least $34,925, but no more than $42,685. Since the Evo is a pretty focused sport model, I'll allow a little deviation from the normal rules and let 2 door sport coupes be fair game here, AS LONG AS THEY ARE STREETABLE. That said…

So, parents are away for an extended period of time. I try to drive their 2013 LaCrosse once every week or two just to move it around. Today something odd happened... started it up, and the first things I noticed is there was no gauge sweep and the animation for the LCD screen between the tach/speedometer was out of sync with the animation on the radio's screen. I figured, no big deal. I put the car in reverse, reverse camera comes on, sensors pick up that a girl is walking past the car on her way to the bus stop, everything is normal. I back up, shift into drive, and start going along my way. About a minute into the drive, the radio screen goes black, reboo…

I started thinking the other day, "What would the American auto industry be like today if Chrysler hadn't bought American Motors way back in '87?" Nowadays, the American economy could probably benefit from having a fourth automaker. Obviously AMC was in some deep crap twenty years ago, but as I've read, some analysts believe that the company would have turned itself around had it not been sold to Chrysler. The company had to continuously innovate to compete with the Big Three, plus they had Jeep...so what do you guys think would have happened to it by now?

So it looks like maybe a 4th car on the horizon as soon as this summer over here.... Short Listed to 1996-1999 DeVille or 1995-1999 Aurora... I've got to ask, I've heard some things about the N* and Aurora V8 that cast doubt on durability. I know that they can sometimes burn alot of oil, but what else is your experience with these cars... Do you think that If I found a DeVille with like 70K Kms... that It would be wise to buy... or is the G-Body a better idea? Another thing is the gas... Could I get away with 89 octane in these cars, or 87 Octane with an Octane/Quality Additive? Also, if I was to get a K-Body Deville, or Aurora what things would I want a mechanic…

My Great Grandfather passed away quietly in his sleep last night. He was my friend and mentor. He had a calm, steady, intellectualism. He spoke 7 languages fluently and has been on every continent except for Antarctica. He was highschool educated and rose to become President of the Okonite Company, one of the oldest wire cable companies in the country, where he demonstrated pioneering leadership and understanding that taking care of the company's workforce was in the company's best interest. Just prior to his retirement in 1976, he arranged the following: He was a quiet man who's life centered around taking care of others. He never commanded but always sugge…

C&D has what I believe is the first test of a manual V6 Camaro up. It's a rather glowing review- http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-chevrolet-camaro-lt-rs-v-6-test-review. I decided this would be a great car to use for a new 'WWYBI' piece. Base price- $30,140 As-tested- $35,150 Range to spend- $27,125-38,665 As always, you have the price range allotted above to spend on a similar car that is new, and on sale now. Must use MSRP. Must spend at least $27,125. Cannot spend more than $38,665.

The fine folks over at C&D just got a piece on the new M4 Comp Pkg up- C&D M4 Compt Pkg Test Almost 90K for a coupe built off base sport/lux sedan bones seems steep, even for an admitted BMW fan such as myself. So let's see what you gents make of this scenario. Base price is $74,845, but as-tested was $89,995. So let's use a range of $75,000-90,000. Rules are as follows- 1) Must be a 2 door performance coupe of some kind. 2) Must be a new 2016-17 MY car on sale now. 3) MSRP MUST be AT LEAST $75,000, but NO MORE THAN $90,000.

C&D got their hands on a new 2017 Encore. Here is the link- 2017 Buick Encore Test A fairly positive review. So let's assume you are shopping for a small, but fairly nice personal car to commute to work and back in. Reasonably priced and efficient, but nice and well-equipped. Base price is $27,385, and as-tested was $29,080. Rules- 1) Your choice must be a NEW on-sale now 2016 or 2017 model. 2) You are limited to sub-compact CUV's or compact NON-PERFORMANCE hatchbacks for this one. So no Rav4/Escape/CR-V or GTI/FocST. 3) You are allowed choice of drivetrains- FWD or AWD. 4) MSRP on your choice MUST be AT LEAST $27,000, …

After a piece on this here just posted, C&D did an instrumented test on what may very well be the exact same car. Here's the link for those who want to check it out- C&D IS200 Test The review and impressions were very similar. The car has a base price of $42,945. As-tested was $47,235. So let's imagine you're buying a premium/lux sedan in the 43-48K range. Rules- 1) Car must be a 2016 or 2017 MY on sale now. 2) Must be a 4 door body style. I will allow a hatch/wagon. 3) Must be a sport-lux/premium/sport sedan of some sort. 4) MSRP MUST be at least $43,000, but no more than $48,000.

C&D just got up their test on the new MB C Coupe- C&D MB C300 Test - and had a largely positive review. This is a rather small, but hotly contested segment. So let's say you were spending between $40,000-55,000 on a new personal sport/lux coupe as a daily. What's your choice? Rules- 1)Must be a 2016 or 2017 MY car on sale now. 2)Must be a 2+2 2 door coupe. 3)Must be at least $40,000 and no more than $55,000 Have fun.

C&D recently did a test on the rarest of 911's. Not a GTx, or "Insert Random Special Edition Here", or even the new R. No, the rarest 911 of all is a stripper model. A near-base, non-S C2 w/ a 7MT. Turns out, it's still a damn fine car. Here's the story for those interested- C&D 911 Carrera Instrumented Test This car just conveniently happens to occupy a price bracket just above our previous entry, the M4 Comp Pkg. Base price is $90,450, as-tested was $96,650. We'll use a range of 90K up to 110K. Rules will be.... 1) As always, must be a NEW 2016 or 2017 MY car on sale now. 2) Choice must be a 2 DR performance coupe or sports…

One of only a few tests I've seen with test results on the new 911 R- C&D 911 R Test Of course, this car is the anti-numbers sports car. Some may like that, others may not. Base price is $185,950, as-tested was $198,695. Now, this car is sold out already, and most brought far more than that, but were going to work with a range based off these numbers. Rules... 1) You choice must be a NEW, on-sale-now MY 2016 or 2017 sports/super car. 2) This is obviously a toy car. Assume your daily needs are already met. 3) Your car of choice MUST have an MSRP of at least $180,000 and NO MORE THAN $230,000.

C&D just did an instrumented test on the new Volvo S90, and I thought this would be a good basis for a 'WWYBI' thread. Link- C&D 2017 Volvo S90 Test The car as tested ran 65K, but starts at 52K. So let's use a range of $52,000-67,000. Rules- 1) Car must be a sedan. 2) Must be a new, on-sale MY 2016 or 2017 model. 3) Must be AT LEAST $52,000 MSRP, but NO MORE THAN $67,000 MSRP.

Sooooooo had a root-canal at the dentist yesterday due to a cracked tooth. I hate the dentist. I'd rather get 500 tetanus shots & 500 MRIs than go in for ANYTHING at the dentist. My teeth are wicked sensitive and I have had some horror-movie experiences at the dentist. SERIOUSLY. Blood and all! So anyway I'm a little delusional, maybe that explains the following: I'm considering buying Julie a FWD car, on my own accord. Let me repeat myself: I'm considering buying a FWD car. Scary I know. It's a topsy-turvy world out there. Either way she's doing a lot of complainign a bout the the size of the RoadmOnster, esp. the width. B-bodys got some WIDE…

Me and a few friends (Sixty8, speedingpenguin, etc.) have been toying with the idea of going in on a pre-war vehicle (car, truck, panel truck, doesn't matter; just has to strike us) together and making a low-budget hot rod out of it for quite some time. We want it to be something unique and different, i.e. not a Ford or Chevy or Dodge. Recently I stumbled onto something that certainly fits that bill, but it is incredibly rare. Not like Duesenberg rare in terms of value or desirability, but something still incredibly rare. It's beat to death, rotted to death, but still there enough to be saved with a bajillion hours of metalwork. Its original chassis with all its running g…

So, yeah, this is something I'm struggling with right now, and I'm not sure where to go from here. Long story short - I've been crazy about this girl for a long time, but for one reason or another we've been missing each other. I find out from her friend that she started seeing someone about 4-5 weeks ago and they're "official". Unlike any other time I've fallen for someone, I feel this one is worth putting it all on the line for. Countering that emotion, however, is my sense of right and wrong, coupled with the fact that I don't want to piss off her friend, since she in not so many words told me not to bother. So there you have it, the cliff's notes version. I might go i…

So, I have the slowstang as my daily driver. Pretty nice beater; 2001 GT convertible in true blue, but it's just not really my style. I have the oppportunity to buy either a 1999 Trans Am (high mileage, but well taken care of. Has C6 rims and is my favorite color- dark blue) or a 2004 3-door SVT Focus (mileage unknown, competition orange, needs a wee bit of body work) Here are the options: 1) "Keep the Mustang you fool. Eventhough it's an automatic and needs some work, it's a solid car and great cruiser. Plus you got a he'll of a deal when you bought it at 3-4K cheaper than BB." 2) "Dude! Buy the freakin' TA! Ok, for a while, it will be my 92 Regal coupe. I'm now within 1,000 miles of 250k. But, if I had to use the LaCrosse as the daily driver and wanted to get a back-up putt-around car, and no longer had the Regal, I'd consider the following (if I could find low mileage ones): - 98 or 99 Intrigue, base, only with 3800 V6 and not the 3.5 - (just saw this) on my way to work in the AM, I pass up a non-GM dealership that has an early 2000s Grand Prix GT coupe in the metallic gold with the tan interior. I really like those. - lastly, I thought about how nice the early 2000s Bonneville LE with some stock alloy wheels, NO spoiler, and the plump cloth bucket seats might be …

Well, I guess I do now. With the Cobalt now done, I can enjoy being payment free....or maybe not. As I found out, there is going to be some kids in the family (adopted and born) on the wife's side. Since we all tend to help each other out (what family doesn't), this is calling for a bigger something. Her Cavalier is simply not going to cut it. (Though it' still a keeper) But I really don't want payments, but want a family hauler. I'd love a SUV (Trailblazer, Tahoe), but really need a (mini)van so that we can really be ready. (those with large families can understand) So, an order van that I can put a few bucks in may be the choice. The Current two choices: Astro/Safari …

A human foot was discovered partially submerged in the water near Westham Island in Ladner, B.C., Delta police said Monday. It's the fifth human foot police have found in the province in less than a year. "As far as it being linked to other partial remains found, we haven't dismissed that. We're considering all possibilities," Const. Sharlene Brooks told CBC News. A couple out for a walk in the 2800 block of Savage Road spotted a shoe floating in the water around 10:30 a.m. and called police, she said. Investigators said it's a left foot. "Right now we're working very closely with the B.C. coroners service to identity the person whose remains we have recovered," B…

Here's an overheard conversation between a Chevrolet engineer and a GM marketing weenie: MARKETING: How's the new Camaro coming along? ENGINEERING: Good. Quick little car. Features LS7 V8- MARKETING: V8? You know what those things cost? ENGINEERING: Yeah, but they improve performance. MARKETING: Hm. (takes pinch of cocaine from his snuff box) Tell you what: we'll have three models and only put this V8 one on the high-end SS (snorts). The base one will come with an Ecotec. ENGINEERING: But that'll degrade the performance badly. MARKETING: So what? If these people want performance, they can do what I did: get their parents to pay for it. They can buy a Cadill…
