Don't know if any of you have picked up the latest issue of Motor Trend with the SUV of the year honors in it, but its kinda funny. They do give props to the Suburban, Tahoe, Escalade, and pretty much rave about the Denali. One line struck me as funny though. At the end of the Suburban review they say "But strong value and superiority ratings couldnt quite counteract what we see as a shrinking market significance for these leviathans." Okie dokie. So who gets the SUV of the year then, if a large SUV's market seems to be diminishing so rapidly? None other than the tiny...Mercedes GL450. Hmm. This thing gets worse gas mileage than a Suburban, will have a much smaller footpr…

A few months ago we were given a tightly cropped teaser of the upcoming 2016 Chevrolet Volt that showed... Well, a bit of paint and a badge. Now, after a private event for current Volt owners was held, another teaser image has surfaced. It was sent in to Jalopnik by an attendee of the event who described the new car as "fantastic." This reader also dished on some additional details regarding its upgraded charging system, including a GPS-based system that allows you to tailor your charge depending on whether you're at home or the office. This system also alloys you to program the time and amperage for charging on or off peak hours. With a reveal set for the 2015 North…

The new gas mileage figures for the 2.2 liter 4cyl in the Cobalt is spot on with 95% of the foreign small cars. It gets better or near the same gas mileage as any scion, versa, civic . . . Funny, when they start to use real life figures GM cars shine. Something us fans of GM have been saying for a long time!

Linkity Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Out of nowhere, my car of the year It's been a quiet year for the world's motor industry. There have been no wrecks, nobody drowning; in fact, nothing to laugh at at all. But, hidden in the sea of normality and business as usual, were a couple of gems. We start with the BMW X6, which must receive my inaugural What Were They Thinking Of award. Have you seen one? No, and I doubt you ever will because in a world that's plagued with recession and run by people who believe the world's polar bears are up at the North Pole sipping pina coladas and slapping on the factor five, it is surely t…

GM has asked that all of the leaked Camaro pics be removed. I went into the threads and removed all of them I saw, but if posted any pics that I missed, I would ask that you please remove them. If you see the pics posted on C&G but did not post them yourself (meaning you can't remove them then) then please use the "report post to a moderator" feature to alert us so that we can remove them. Thanks, Northstar.

New Chev muscle car a Holden underneath http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthr...?threadid=25280 Demand from American baby boomers for modern muscle cars sent American executives to Australia looking for help. The Camaro was yesterday labelled a "concept car" but the Herald understands it is close to being confirmed for production. "We have Australian engineers working on this project right now," Denny Mooney, the American boss of Holden, told the Herald. With his connections in the US, it is likely the Chevrolet Camaro could be built in North America on the same production line as the next generation Pontiac GTO, which is due in 2008. Given that they share major…

Link: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2011/09/gm-general-motors-chevrolet-colorado-small-pickup-trucks/1?csp=obinsiteGM is making big bet on small pickup truck market Is the upcoming Chevrolet Colorado pickup the solution to a problem that has vexed automakers for years, or the answer to a question nobody asked? Chevrolet is betting hundreds of millions of dollars and several hundred jobs the new midsize pickup will breathe life into what some automakers consider a dying market segment -- small and midsize pickups. The UAW says the pickup is scheduled for production at GM's assembly plant in Wentzville, Mo., as part of the automaker's new con…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com April 3, 2013 General Motors has been hard at work on the North American versions of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon and we know the trucks will be arriving sometime after the new Silverado and Sierra. Now it seems we have a possible timeframe of when these mid-size bruisers will be arriving. The Detroit Free Press recently talked with GM's President of North America, Mark Reuss. Reuss revealed that introduction of the Colorado and Canyon would be timed with the introduction of the next-gen Ford F-150, which is expected to come out around late 2014 or early 2015. “We are going to have a midsize truck that we l…

Ok - just a random question... We've seen spy pics of the Camaro and Challenger on Detroit Area roads. Has anyone seen or been able to substantiate any chance they may share the same roads at the same time? Seeing both of them together by accident (nudge-nudge-wink-wink) would be a major buzz generator. Maybe our Detroit area C&G'ers could enlighten us?

Automaker racing to get first plug-in hybrid on the market by 2010 DETROIT - General Motors already has five hybrid vehicles on the road, but it is banking its future on a radical departure onto the green road: By 2010, the automaker hopes to have a plug-in electric passenger car in customers' driveways. I love delivering the unexpected. And right now, the unexpected is a General Motors vehicle that uses no fuel,” said Bob Lutz, GM's vice chairman of product development, who introduced the Chevrolet Volt concept car to enormous attention in January at the North American International Automotive Show in Detroit. For Lutz, who was brought out of retirement six years ag…

Might seem like an odd topic for this forum, and if anyone thinks it should be redirected somewhere else, let me know. I've brought it up here before (probably in the Sales Ticker forum), but I really feel like I see more 2007/08 Tundra's than I do more Silverados. I'm in Houston, and Toyota does really well here pretty much across the board, but it's actually pretty wild how well this new Tundra does around here. They're basically everywhere - and I see all types of people driving them. I look out the window at my office, and it's nothing for me to see 2 or 3 Tundra's within the course of a few minutes it seems. I know they're doing right at about 90k a year (…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com May 28, 2013 General Motors looks to be copying Ford's playbook with pickups. The company is considering adding niche models to the Chevrolet Silverado lineup. "Ford does a lot with co-branding. I can't comment on anything going forward, but I will say our leadership is very aware of not only the (Ford) Harley-Davidson pickup, but also the Raptor. There are a lot of halo vehicles at Ford. They do sell well and they do set a tone for the vehicle. We definitely are looking into that," said Chris Hilts, manager of creative design for GM's full-size pickup truck interiors. General Motors has introduced the first niche mo…

Al Oppenheiser is possibly one of the most important people working at General Motors being the chief engineer for the fifth and sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. He helped bring back one of the most iconic muscle cars and make into something quite special. But Oppenheiser will soon face a new challenge. Car and Driver reports that Oppenheiser will move over to GM's newly formed AV/EV organization to work on zero-emission-vehicle development. GM spokesman Michael Albano explained that they are moving "some of our best talent" to help work on their electrification efforts. Albano did acknowledge this was a lateral move, Oppenheiser would remain as a chief engineer. …

For fun, if you have a slogan you'd like to see in a future Camaro ad, post it here. Mine can be seen in my new sig. FYI, it came from a series of ads for the Pontiac Firebird at the end of the '90s and the begining of the new milenium. It fit the circumstances, so I decided to do some recycling.

Latest Motor Trend has article comparing the HHR, Mazda 3s, Dodge Caliber and Toyota Matrix. They placed the Mazda first, now I will say that all in all the Mazda is a pretty nice overall vehicle. however I was very disappointed to see the place the Matrix 2nd and the HHR 3rd. After all, isn't the Vibe GM's worst vehicle as far as quality goes? I want to write a letter into MT, can anybody give me the links showing the Vibes poor quality ratings for me to shove in their faces?

Well today i was pleasently supprised when our GM trainer came in and discussed future products for us... First he cleanly said "you didnt hear it from me" but... The camaro will be avalible in 2008 as a 2009 year model. He also mentioned that there would be 3 engine choices those being 1 v6 and 2 v8's and the idea of borrowing the 7L, although it wouldnt be rated to have as much power as the vette, the idea was there to borrow the motor. He also went on to mention stuff about the impala next year getting AFM (this we already knew) he also mentioned that it was sent to austrailia (like we already knew) so that it would stay out of the limelight...

Month 3 update for Volt 1712: A sense of normalcy and routine has set in for me as the Volt completes month 3. No issues or problems to report. My employer installed electric charge stations late last year and I was the first to use them starting in March. This month, I've been joined by two other Volts. The stations are in the Visitors parking lot, so many folks do a double take when they see the Volts parked there as it's still not a typical sight to see. As I mentioned last month, I've been driving in Low/SPORT and have reached a high of 51.7 miles in EV mode for one charge. I traveled 747 miles in May and used less than a gallon of gas (0.7). As of June 1st, …

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com May 28, 2013 When General Motors unveiled the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the 6.2L LT1 V8 was producing 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. However, the 6.2L wasn't certified by the SAE. That has changed today as the 6.2L has received its SAE certification and the numbers are official: 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. If you equip the available performance exhaust, those numbers jump to 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet. “The LT1’s performance complements the Corvette’s low mass with a tremendous feeling of power that builds as the rpm climbs. Drivers will…

Chevy HHR A turbocharger roosts under the HHR’s retro-styled hood. BY ERIK JOHNSON, August 2007 As Chrysler uses Detroit’s annual Woodward Dream Cruise to roll out another snoozer special edition of the extremely long-in-the-tooth PT Cruiser—this time the Sunset Boulevard Cruiser, inspired by a street 2300 miles and several tax brackets away from Motown’s famed Avenue—Chevrolet has decided to inject a little bit of muscle into the event. Make that a very little bit of muscle, because the bow-tie brand has seen fit to unleash upon the world the Chevrolet HHR SS, which is, of course, based upon the diminutive HHR trucklet. Where’d A Little Truck Like You Get All Them H…

In light of fresh competition in the form of the refreshed Toyota Tacoma and new Honda Ridgeline, Chevrolet has announced some updates for the 2017 Colorado. First is a new 3.6L V6 producing 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque (up 3 horsepower and 6 pound-feet). Changes to the engine include a revised direct injection system, updated variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation. We can't help but wonder if this is the same engine that resides in a number of Cadillac models. A new eight-speed automatic transmission is hooked up to the V6. The transmission features a higher first gear (helps with towing or hauling a heavy load) and lower rear axle ratios wil…

The Chevrolet Spark EV is no more, ending a three-year run for the bowtie brand. The Detroit News learned that production of the Spark EV ended last summer as a part of a move by Chevrolet to get ready with selling the Bolt EV. Another reason not listed in the story is that the Spark EV was based on the previous-generation model, not the all-new model. When Chevrolet revealed the Bolt EV back in 2015, GM executives said the Bolt would likely not replace the Spark EV. Chevrolet spokesman Fred Ligouri said Chevrolet sold about 7,400 Spark EVs during its three-year run from 2013 to 2016. The model was only sold in California, Maryland, and Oregon. Source:…

Edmunds Long-Term Intro: 2007 Chevy Tahoe LT Following the untimely departure of our Jeep Commander from the long-term fleet, we felt obligated to choose another full-size SUV as a replacement. A new platform, redesigned exterior and improved interior made the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT a suitable choice. It only seemed appropriate that it was also equipped with 4WD. [...] We haven't yet taken the Tahoe on any off-road adventures to test the capability of its 4WD and 3.73 rear axle; although the truck did just square off in a comparison test, complete with a tow-test, with the Ford Expedition. Not to mention we'll begin posting our experiences on the long-term blog page…

Behind the Wheel of the Bumblebee 2009 Camaro We knew what we had to do. Get the first photo ever of a 2009 Camaro doing a burnout — or at least a car that's a dead ringer for the 2009 Camaro doing a burnout. So there we were last July near the set of Transformers, cruising along the roads surrounding an old aircraft hangar in Playa Vista, California. We were driving "Bumblebee," the Camaro that's the star of this summer's sure-to-be-blockbuster, looking for the perfect place to blaze the hides off its rear tires. It's amazing that we even got permission. "A burnout?" one Paramount Pictures publicity person asked us. "What's that?" Driving a Transformer After lot…

There appears to be three different Chevrolet Cruzes in play; the refreshed 2015 Cruze, the Chinese market Cruze, and the upcoming 2016 Cruze that was recently caught by a spy photographer. Caught undisguised, the 2016 Cruze shares a number of design items with the Chinese-market version that give it a somewhat tidy, if somewhat boring design. The front end wears a nose that is similar to the Sonic with the spilt grille and sculpted hood. The overall profile reminds us of the current Honda Civic. What is still unknown is what will power the next Cruze, but one or more of the engines from the Next-Generation Ecotec family going into production later this year is most lik…

Reuters has just reported inside sources have confirmed that GM has chosen LG Chem along with Troy, Michigan-based Compact Power Inc. to supply the lithium-ion battery packs for the first generation Chevy Volt. The contract will be announced in November and the terms are still being worked out. GM hasn’t confirmed these reports but an LG Chem spokesman in Korea stated “we were informed that the results are due in November, but we didn’t get any official answer from GM yet. We hope for and expect a good result.” As we have heard…

Corvette To Be Built Elsewhere? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com April 4, 2011 Could the Corvette be moving from it's home in Bowling Green, Kentucky? Other than that, we also know all about the technical details of the ‘14 Impala, as well as its options list that includes a host of four and six-cylinder engines and creature comforts like adaptive cruise control. If you have your heart set on getting a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette, you'll be waiting a bit for the chance. General Motors announced today that it has issued two stop-sale notices that cover 2,800 2015 model year Corvettes. About 2,000 Corvettes have a potential problem with the driver's side airbag which may have been not properly attached and could separate in a crash. Another 800 Corvettes sitting on dealer lots may have only have one parking brake cable attached and not two. This causes the parking brake not to be as effective as it should be. Now GM hasn't said if it will go ahead and issue a recall for these two problems. We'll keep you updated if they do. Source: G…

GM Chairperson and CEO Mary Barra announced during GM's Quarterly earnings call that Chevrolet next-generation Bolt will come on the Ultium platform continuing to offer great affordability, range and technology. The next-generation Bolt which has had record sales and some of the highest customer satisfaction and loyalty scores in the industry, especially among conquest sales will come to market using the Ultium and Ultifi technology advancements according to Barra. The Bolt and Bolt EUV are driving EV adoption sales currently and Chevrolet is planning to continue this trend. Barra stated during the earnings call that drawing on the Ultium and Ultifi t…

If you were hoping that Chevrolet would bring the house down next month with the debut of the mid-engine Corvette at the Detroit Auto Show, we have some bad news for you. GM Authority has learned from GM that Chevrolet isn't planning to show anything car or crossover related at the show. Motor Authority was able to confirm this report by speaking to sources who know GM's plans for future vehicles. It is expected that the Cadillac XT6 crossover will debut at the show. Rumor has it that GM could debut the mid-engine Corvette at the New York Auto Show - the original 1953 Corvette debuted at the Motorama event that year in New York - or hold its own event to have th…

The Cruze is a nice enough car. Unlike some others I think the styling is nice and clean for the most parts and the interior is a huge leap forward for Chevy. I have some reservations about a 1.4T being more economical than a 1.8 DI, but at least it serves to differentiate the car from the flock. However, there is nothing to like about the lame name that sounds like "Curse" or (Tom) "Cruise". So, I am proposing that we come up with some alternative names for this bread and butter Chevy of the future. I propose that Chevy name all their mainstream vehicles after places or cities. There is already some sort of a tradition in that direction -- Malibu, Tahoe, Colorado, et…

General Motors has toyed with the idea of expanding the Corvette lineup, but has always gotten cold feet as there were worries that expansion would dilute the image. But a new report from Bloomberg says the company is considering this idea again, this time in electric form. Sources say that designers are currently on "several Corvette-brand concept vehicles that target a wider range of buyers," that will "blend Corvette’s reputation for high-performance driving and rakish styling with creature comforts such as more interior room and storage." If approved, the new model would be electric and could arrive as early as 2025, utilizing GM's new BEV3 electric platform and …

I must say the changes make it look much better, even if it's still not the most attractive car ever. The new interior colors are better I think, and the chrome rings around the radio controls are a good touch. I don't much care for the steering wheel however. Exterior pics: Interior:

Some Camaro news from my source.... "Just thought you might like to here the story behind the pics. All the pics that were leaked on the web are pics that GM released to a toy company so production toys/scale models can be ready for sale shortly after the NAIAS. Someone at the toy co leaked the pics, I've heard the FBI is involved and GM plans to prosecute the person responsible. Expect to see a silver running car at Detroit and a red push car at LA."

This one goes out to Olds and ocn I thought this story was pretty awesome and entertaining. Coolest part of it all was that it was still using a manual transmission. I think a manual transmission would really help keep the enthusiasts, like ourselves, a little more entertained by electric cars. I know it would add to the experience so much more than just a straight auto that never shifts.. As exhilarating as the g-forces would be still being able to row my own gears in a performance car would be ideal. There wasn't much to read so I just posted it all: "It would be easy to assume the Tesla Model S is the fastest electric car in the world. The P90D ca…

First let me say I am simply speculating and posting my thoughts on the issue, and that I have no inside info confirming this, just info/rumors that I have read. By now I'm sure most of us who have followed the 'GMX386' thread know that the NG Malibu has been cancelled and we won't have a new Malibu until Epsilon II is ready. I've been thinking about GM globalizing over the next few years and what that means to future product plans in general, and more importantly for this thread, what that means to the future of Chevrolet cars. First, let's consider the platforms that GM will have at its disposal upon which to base cars on by 2010: Note t…

Here are more pictures from my trip to the Chicago Auto Show. The first picture is of the the Trailblazer SS which I absolutely love. The Chevy Equinox just needs a bigger engine and I think it would be a hit. I love the blue on it. Next are two pictures of the '07 Tahoe. One is a base model and one is a top of the line model. I also love the interior of the new Tahoe which compared to pre-Bob Lutz era truck interiors look great. I like the exterior of the Colorado but it needs a bigger engine and a freshened interior. (see above pic. for Colorado interior)

There seems to be quite the flood of lightly owned Captiva Sports on the market now. Some may recall these as Saturn Vues. How does everyone think these compare with the small-mid crossover market, with all its new contenders? The Captiva got the 6 speed auto. Its a solid ride. It didn't have the foibles of the Escape. But how can it compete when there is already an Equinox too? I think its a nice choice to have it in the pre-owned stable. The ones I have seen are too pricey though. I would get one over an Equinox maybe, but not a Terrain.

The big news about the Ford F-150 is how it's constructed from aluminum which allows for improved fuel economy and massive weight loss. Chevrolet is going to be taking aim at this with a new social media campaign and ad. Automotive News reports that the ad features a focus group asked the question if a grizzly bear lumbers into the room, which cage would you take? The aluminum or steel one? Most of the group goes for the steel one. "Our trucks are built with high-strength steel. We think that's a tactical advantage and an important differentiator. We have a pretty healthy sense of humor about it," said Sandor Piszar, the marketing director for the Silverado. This ad br…

Lots of interesting stuff happening as GM by divisions starts to release more info on their EV programs. First is a interesting video on their Ultium batteries. This clearly shows how versatile they can build the battery packs. https://plants.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/bcportal.html/currentVideoId/6157651202001/currentChannelId/Most Recent.gsaOff.html Multiple-cell-configurations-within-Ultium-modules.mp4 They have released a video of a side profile of the new Chevrolet Bolt morphing into the Bolt EUV. I was able to download the video and as such, way more visual detail than on the posted web sites below are showing. https://media.chevrolet.com/…

It's no secret that the Corvette's demographic is somewhere in the 50s, and the younger crowd does have a few negative connotations associated with it, namely that it's the default purchase of balding men going through a mid-life crisis and having a need to compensate for "other" shortcomings. How do we fix that? How should Chevy lower the buying age of the Corvette? How do we get in their 20s and 30s to sell their souls on a loan for a Corvette as opposed to, say, an M3 or G37? Should Chevy even bother?

Chevrolet Camaro Concept: Design Note: Recently, I brought you details about the design of the new Dodge Challenger, the concept that served as a precursor to Dodge’s re-entry into the revitalized Pony Car segment. In that article, you got to see a good chunk of images you had to pay-to-see over at Car Design News (which, to me, isn’t fair at all) and read about styling elements, etc. Now it’s time we look at an equally legendary machine: the Camaro These two sketches show a car that in no way is a Camaro and tends to be very futuristic. Cues from GM’s Autonomy concept and the Saturn Curve concept seem to litter these sketches. This early sketch shows cues from the…

There has been some discussion about the merits of the Sonic versus the Hyundai Accent over at the Hyundai forums and Edmunds. In essence, people have been saying that the Accent is simply a better overall value than the Sonic. Now, I have no horse in the race here but it just strikes me as strange to hear that given my impression of the Accent but my knowledge of the vehicle may be somewhat dated (the last time I saw one was circa 2006 in Bushwick, Brooklyn and it wasn't a pretty site). In short, a lot of people are saying that the Accent will run longer and with less problems than a Chevy Sonic but the counterpoint to that is that when something does go wrong you out o…

The Corvette has a long history of excelling in endurance racing, and the C7.R looks to continue that. To celebrate the legacy, Chevrolet has announced a special edition Corvette Z06 which brings some of C7.R race car to the road. The 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition comes in yellow or black and boasts a fair amount of unpainted carbon fiber (including the material on the hood), along with grilles painted in Spectra Gray Metallic. A set of black wheels with Corvette Racing caps come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires. Inside are a set of Competition Sport Seats that are upholstered in Jet Black leather. Suede lines the steering wheel, gearshift, instrument p…

Here is something going around on a Mule and speculation it may be a Vette? This is posted on autoblog.com. Hot on the heels of discovering the next-gen Corvette could be offered with a dual-clutch transmission, word is now filtering out that General Motors may be working on adapting the Haldex-sourced XWD all-wheel-drive system currently available on the 2008 Saab 9-3 for use on Chevy's budget supercar. The Haldex XWD is a robust system, as it can send up to 85% of the engine's power to a single wheel. Auto Motor and Sport in Sweden reports that GM engineers have been seen testing a mule with a wider rear track than any Saab currently available, which suggests the sy…

I was looking over at Camaro5 site. I cannot beleive how many problems the new Camaros are having. I really figured since the General took so long to release it Quality would be at the top of the list. Sure new cars have problems but some of this stuff would really piss me off if it were my car. Leaking engines, transmissions, interior issues. body fit all kinds of noises etc. This is the last thing Chevy needs and I hope somebody is listening at GM before the general public finds out

Can't beleive it!! First I saw a Yukon factory test vehicle on the Hwy last Thursday and today I was driving getting ready to turn onto the Hwy and here comes a all white '07 Tahoe!! No tape, no camo... just like you'd see it on the showroom. I recognized it from a few hundred feet down the road. These new GMT-900's are distinctive. When I saw the Yukon last week I recognized the tail lights from a distance and it was starting to get dusk when I saw it. So this "it looks like an expedition" bs is just bs in my opinion. Maybe in pics on the internet but they are distinctive out on the road in person.

Reuters / March 15, 2006 - 4:00 pm DETROIT -- General Motors, encouraged by the early sales of its redesigned 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, is accelerating its production schedule by several weeks for other SUVs built on the same platform, a spokesman said on Wednesday. GM is also asking its parts suppliers to ship components ahead of schedule so it can move to production more quickly for new versions of full-sized SUVs such as the Chevrolet Suburban and the GMC Yukon XL. The moves are key since the success of GM's revamped line of SUVs represent the struggling automaker's most important product launch this year, in a profitable segment of the market that it has long do…

One year after GM killed the latest reincarnation of the El Camino — the Pontiac G8 ST — we've learned that the "Ute" still may live. And if it does, it'll be a Chevy. When writing up our story on rumors out of Australia that Chevy would potentially get a rear wheel drive Zeta-platformed sedan, we hinted at our desire to have them also bring over a version of the loved-by-many Holden Commodore Ute — or even the Chevrolet Lumina SS Ute (pictured above) from South Africa. It looks like GM might have been listening. We've now learned from three sources that the General's product planners are noodling the idea of bringing the "Ute" to the United States. The vehicle would ab…

They will also be taken to the Milford proving grounds so this shows we have some Camaro's prototypes in country so our Detroit phone photog's might want to keep an eye out for any odd cars what could be a rebodied Camaro. I have someone I know that is one of the 12 and is a great informed Camaro fan. September 26th, 2013 Drew Dowdell Managing Editor - CheersandGears.com It is Texas State Fair time and that means it is Pickup Truck release time. Earlier today, Ford released information on its upgraded F-series Superduty trucks. General Motors has now released the updates for their 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2015 Sierra HD. Forget horsepower wars, this class of truck competes in a towing and payload capability war, and General Motors just upped the bar. Both of the General's HDs now boast a best-in-class payload rating of 7,374 pounds and a towing capability of 19,600 pounds for conventional trailering. Fifth wheel towing is up to 23,200. Under the hood, both …

When the first electric cars reach showrooms in 2011, Windsor intends to be the first municipality in Canada to have public charging stations available to keep them rolling down city streets. The day after General Motors unveiled the production version of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric car, Enwin Utilities and the City of Windsor announced they are laying the groundwork to create the infrastructure for the Volt and its competitors. As many as six plug-in hybrid electric vehicles from GM, Toyota, Nissan and possibly Chrysler are expected to be available for consumer purchase by early 2011. Windsor wants to be the first city in Canada to make them feel right at hom…
